      My iron quietly weeps…

      • Donyelle

One of the main reasons why I stopped buying D&G is the satin used wrinkles so quickly. Until Rowenta invents a iron that you can hide in a clutch, just say no.

        • Karen Belgrad

I’ll use that as a reason too! (instead of not being able to buy any D&G unless I find it at G&W… Goodwill)

          • Nelliebelle1197

I think my eyes just rolled all the way back into my head

    • Clueless_Jock

It’s too Real Housewives for me.

      • teensmom99

I was going to say Long Island bar mitzvah, but I think we have a po-tay-to/po-tah-to thing going here.

      • NYCGlamourpuss

Thank goodness I saw your post before I typed it out all over again!

    • Laurie Landry

Holy Hefty bag and Barbie shoes!

    • Lori

Why in the world would anyone pay D&G prices for that?

    • Random Compliments

      Wrinkled Barbie.
ETA Actually, more like Barbie knockoff from the dollar store.

    • Courtenay P

      This looks so dated.

    • Deac82

If it didn’t say Dolce and Gabbana in the caption, I would have thought she bought it at Cache

      • majorbedhead

I was going to say David’s Bridal, but Cache works, too.

      • HomeOfficeGirl

Agreed – everything looks cheap. Literally right out of the box it was shipped in.

        • omg_dora

I just learned that there’s a thing in some old paintings where the lady being painted wore a dress with sharp creases in it and the painter put them faithfully into the painting, exactly for that reason — to show that the dress has just been taken out of the dressmaker’s box. This reflected the family’s wealth and in the case of young, unmarried ladies may have also been an allusion to virginity.

I don’t think that’s what Starbuck was going for, though. :)

    • JauntyJohn

      Well played, Miss Lady.
Whether or not you like the dress (and I think the color is terrific on her) this is pretty and feminine without being in any way “princess-y” — which would be SO the wrong note for her — even still, this look couldn’t be farther from how we usually see her in TV and films. Sharp.

North of the neck, the whole “Veronica Lake sans peek-a-boo bang” plays into the pretty bombshell image we’re trotting out here. She looks lovely and that one shot with the big smile is dynamite.

      • demidaemon

I definitely see your point. I just think she could have accomplished this and chose a better dress at the same time. Also agreed about the color; it’s the fabric and ruching that ruins it.

    • kittenwithaquip

Whoa. Looks like Starbuck had some work done.

      • MasterandServant

        That was my exact thought

    • Blair Sylvester

Who? why is she wearing Victoria Grayson’s dress?

    • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

      How very bridesmaid.

    • AnniNoone

Sigh. I guess she couldn’t be Starbuck forever.

      • kimmeister

I didn’t recognize her until the shot of her smiling.

    • Donyelle

I feel like I’m staring into the Stargate

    • hughman

If that dress talks and tells me I’m in the house of Slytherin, I am SO out of here.

      • Karen Belgrad

I bow down to your epic comment greatness!

        • Trickytrisha

Yes! Our hughman is a bright shining star in BKdom. We need a title to bestow on him/her.

    • boweryboy

I can’t tell where the real wrinkles begin and the fake ones end.

    • Kelly

Love the color, but otherwise unexciting. And wrinkled to boot. Plus, I’m getting bored with those Jimmy Choos. But at least they aren’t silly putty pumps.

      • http://www.GiftedCollector.com/ The Gifted Collector

My thought about the shoes, too. We loved them when they first appeared, but by now, every starlet in Hollywood has worn them in every color. Time for them to be retired.

    • Trickytrisha

As a Battlestar Galactica fan, and not having seen her since watching it a few years back, I didn’t and can’t recognize her as the same person. The hair is lovely, her face is too. Not sure whose face it is, but she’s pretty.

The dress? Pretty color, but oddly annoying. And those feet make my shiver, not in a good way. Maybe I have an allergic reaction to Those Sandals after repeated exposure to them on the feet of umpteen celebs over the last 9 or so months.

      • kimmeister

Surely it has to have been more than 9 months, no? Or has it only felt like an eternity that we’ve been seeing that exact pair in black, gold, and silver repeatedly?

      • Qitkat

I would have no idea who this is except for the name. I know it was many years ago, and she has moved on, rightfully so, but I do give out a regretful sigh when I absolutely can no longer recognize someone, whereas people like Julianne Moore, Jennifer Garner, Marissa Tomei, Halle Berry, Sandra Bullock, Julia Roberts can be recognized from 10, 15, 20, and more years ago to today.

        • http://www.jaimieteekell.com/ Jaimie

I was thinking that she didn’t wear much makeup in BSG.

        • http://onionjam.tumblr.com SkipperJane

There’s basically one episode where she’s dressed up, and I remember thinking “Who, she looks totally different.” With that blonde coloring, I think it’s all about the eye makeup.

        • Bridget Smith

I think it’s partly that her face is so mobile & expressive that she never looks quite the same in still shots. I’d seen photos of her for years before I watched the show and didn’t think she was anything special, but she was only onscreen for 30 seconds or so before I loved her. Add the movie-premiere make-up and the fact that she’s now 34 instead of the 24 she was when BSG started, and it’s no wonder she looks different!

      • demidaemon

Everyone here needs to watch Longmire. Not only is it a great show that deconstructs some of the typical procedural tropes, Katee here is AWESOME in it.

        Check it out, seriously.

        • Trickytrisha

Thanks for the reminder. I’ve seen a couple of episodes of that show and found it pretty darned fascinating. She is indeed awesome, as is the guy who plays Longmire.

          • demidaemon

The first season is available on Netflix. IDK when the second season will be available, as it just finished airing last week with one hell of a cliffhanger. The guy who plays Longmire is pretty amazing, as he effortlessly conveys that old-school Wyoming cowboy, despite the fact that he’s originally Australian.

    • decormaven

There’s a killer opportunity for an onsite steamer at these events. I see franchise opportunities: “Be A Part of the Steam Team!” Or “Perfect Press”. On subject: such a lovely gal, and what a shame the wrinkles wreck the look.

      • marlie

Maybe that could be a spin-off of TLo’s red carpet stylist idea.

    • pop_top

That looks exactly like a dress that Express has made about 30 versions of over the last 2 years.

I also thought this was Gwyneth Paltrow before I entered the post.

    • http://CallMeJane.com/ CallMeJane

You know she had choices. What was she thinking?

    • alyce1213

What a messy dress. SHe has lovely eyes.

    • In_Stitches

The first words out of my mouth: “Oh no…Katee, you’re better than that”. I mean, it fits, but it’s just kind of a big ol’ nothing. She’s a great actress, this is her movie, she should pull out the stops to help people remember her name. Something short works for her as she’s a sporty gal, but this dress doesn’t really let her stake her claim in the spot light.

    • sagecreek

I hate to say this twice in a day, but did she have work done? Because, seriously, UNRECOGNIZABLE.

    • Imasewsure

Gawd I hate those poses… pining for Sandy and her non-poses… oh and I also hate the dress, the shoes with this and the hair

    • Jacquelyn

It’s really hard for me to criticize her cause I’m such a BSG/Starbuck lover but I have this urge to grab my iron and go to work on the bottom half of the dress. That color is good on her, though.

    • marlie

It’s straight off of the bridesmaid rack. And desperately needs to be ironed. Hair and makeup are fine, but she could have used a little more color on her lips.

    • MilaXX

      sack of wrinkles

    • scrappy1

I am so sick of those shoes.

    • Raymond Dnomyar

Pretty sure most bridesmaids wouldn’t be caught dead in this.

    • CT14

I like her better with short hair.

    • carolynmo

Oh, Starbuck, I don’t think this is a good dress.

    • conniemd

It’s not just the obvious wrinkles in the front at the bottom, but the dress clearly had its hem changed. The new hem, not only isn’t pressed flat, it also appears uneven. If you are going to take up a hem, you have to iron it. That should be home ec 101.

    • quiltrx

Shit. She managed to wrinkle up the ONE area of the dress that isn’t supposed to look wrinkled!

    • MartyBellerMask

I don’t care how popular and expensive they are– those shoes are UGLY.

    • kirkyo

      Boring as hell.

    • Jaime

      I miss Butch Katee.

    • veriance

Considering her roles on BSG and Longmire aren’t conducive to the feminine and ultra girly, I’m willing to let this slide. She’s in from the waist up!!

    • Carol

      I miss Starbuck.

    • Diego!

Katee dear, send everything back ASAP and fire your hairtsylist too. You can keep your make up artist tough.

    • crash1212

Put the satin dress back on the rack. It never photographs well and nobody looks good in it. WTF? I’m not famous and I don’t pay people to dress me and even I know this.

    • khaleesi

she looks good..and i love her on Longmire!

    • JP

Oh, if only that ruching went all the way to the hem! Then we wouldn’t see those sad wrinkles.

    • demidaemon

Not loving this dress…which is too bad because I love her as an actress. Try not to pick a casket lining next time, Katee.

    • librarygrrl64

Makeup and shoes good, hair okay, dress awful.
