    • Emily Smith

      I kinda love the shoes.

      • 3boysful

Clearly you are younger and cooler than I, because I think they are hideous.

        • sagecreek

Hideous, and who wears suede in AUGUST?

      • MilaXX

I think they are nice, but they really don’t go with the shorts.

        • Emily Smith

I don’t think they go with the outfit no, but as a stand alone item, if I were shopping and walked by those I would stop and look at them.

          • mlle

You have more restraint than I do, I would probably buy them.

            • Emily Smith

I think the $600+ price tag would stop me. There’s other things I would rather spend that on.

            • mlle

Yeah, the price tag on these shoes, literally, would stop me. But something in the same style and less expensive? I would buy.

            • Emily Smith

              On this we agree.

        • H2olovngrl

          Exactly this.

      • sweetestsith

I do too. I love the shoes, and I actually like them with the shorts part, but they don’t work with anything above the waist. Its an awkward outfit, but she looks lovely in it anyway. It probably helps that I adore her to the ends of the earth. ;)

        • drdarke

She kind of looks like some Disney Channel superheroine, actually.

      • Imasewsure

I kind of love them too and I actually like them with the shorts… not sure what’s wrong with me…

    • Karen Belgrad

She’s doing the opposite of the “gotta pee” stance. Is there a name for that?

      • oatmealpie

The “spread ‘em?” The “left foot hates right foot” stance?

      • schadenfreudelicious

The “I don’t want to pee on my shoes” stance?

      • Monabel

        Ha, I already peed!

    • charlotte

When did she start looking so…adult? Guess I haven’t paid much attention to her since she was a teen star.
The outfit is cute although I’m normally not into jumpsuits.

    • NinjaCate

Her face has changed. But that happens I guess. And to imagine I used to be rooting for Lindsay in the epic battle over Aaron Carter’s heart!

      • http://angrynerdgirl.net/ Jessi03

I thought both of them could do better.

      • JasmineAM

She’s morphing into her older sister Hailey.

        • NinjaCate

She’s still naturally prettier. Or maybe she’s just had less work done?

      • Meg0GayGuys6

I think a few years ago she got into some kind of accident where some of her teeth were knocked out so she got new ones. I think so anyway…

        • sugarkane105

I think I heard that she accidentally chomped down on a microphone, breaking her front two teeth. Still, you would think she could get veneers better-suited to her face.

        • http://robot-heart.tumblr.com heartbot

I think she’s also had a nose job. IDK. She’s completely unrecognizable even from a year ago.

    • StellaZafella

The necklace is insane…in a good way for this, because without it this would just be a punk onesy.

      • Ginny Ellsworth

It is the Eye of Sauron! And now I am imagining him in a punk onesy…thank you for brightening my day!

    • steeg of their own

That is a LOT of necklace for that neckline. I might have gone with a plainer neckline (no lace to obscure the necklace) if I was thinking of wearing that much heavy bling. In fact, I probably would have ditched the formal romper (ugh) altogether and just worn a blouse with a simple, low scoop neckline, a nice pair of black jeans, and carried a much-cuter clutch that involved chunky gold accents to accentuate the necklace. She can keep the shoes, those are fine.

    • http://angrynerdgirl.net/ Jessi03

Did not remotely recognize her. As they age, she and her sister look more alike.

    • Karen Belgrad

The woman in the first photo is holding a folder that says “Dave Coulier”. Wonder what Uncle Joey is up to these days. And if he’s still into “that” in a theater.

    • formerlyAnon

I am stunned. “Playsuit”?????????? Playsuits are for toddlers. She looks as good as a grown up can look in a playsuit though, which is mediocre.

The necklace was a brave and desperate attempt to elevate the look past the juvenile. Brave, desperate, and not the triumph it needed to be. (Maybe because it overlaps with the cheap looking machine lace trim? Hmmmm, stylist? WAS there a stylist?)

I have a personal hatred of the shoes.

      • kimmeister

I share your flabbergastedness over the use of the word “playsuit” for an adult.

      • Levedi

I almost was in love with the necklace – until we got the up close pics. And no, no, no on the “playsuit.” Next we’ll be told it has little snaps on the legs so her nanny can better change her diaper.

    • teensmom99

I need analysis here. It is all weird and yet she looks fantastic. Someone enlighten me, please, about why the whole is better than the parts.

      • formerlyAnon

I want to say because I have an irrational liking for her, and the large part her not-as-bad-as-most-of-the-others t.v. shows played in my kids’ entertainment. But that would only account for me.

      • alyce1213

I know. I don’t really like anything about what she’s wearing, but she’s glowing and beautiful, and sometimes that trumps a questionable outfit. Go figure.

      • Imasewsure

I don’t love the jewelry but the outfit itself kind of works to me. Maybe because she just looks so cute overall and I like that it’s fairly simple and casual but not too casual….dunno

    • http://twitter.com/#!/Space_Kitty Space Kitty

Call it a playsuit if you want, but it doesn’t make me any happier about formal shorts. With booties, no less. Hate.

    • Rand Ortega

Lace AND a statement necklace? Over. Kill. The shoes look incongruous w/ the rest of the ensemble.

    • MilaXX

Why would you pair that necklace with that neckline ? I’m just gonna ignore the stank boot because it’s too silly to even discuss.

      • decormaven

The necklace is from the beyond- way too over the top for a “playsuit.” And put those boots away until there’s a nip in the air. [BTW: cute kitty!]

        • MilaXX

          Stormie says “thanks!”

    • Glam Dixie

The necklace was a bridge too far with that lacy neckline. I hate booties.

    • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

Her necklace makes me think of The Secret of Nihm.

    • Jennica Brocious

The necklace reminds me of The Lord of the rings eye….

    • JauntyJohn

You know, I was going to make an “Eye of Sauron” joke but at second glance I like the necklace and (almost) the whole look. (not sold on the shoes. interesting design but that color with all the black and nothing to tie it in with the rest of the outfit doesn’t work for me).
And I see she got the short shorts memo, so all good on that front. Chic, fun, summer Pixar premier sure, absolutely fine. Especially since so often the men show up looking like they are deliberately trying to look like a bologna past the expiration date.
      Also: Not in rehab!

      • teensmom99

Not in rehab, indeed. Love our high standards!

    • Jaime

Why does she have the Eye of Sauron around her neck? (edit: nuts, someone else beat me to the punch.)

    • ali meowmeow

May “lace-trimmed silk playsuit” be a phrase I never read again in my life.

    • elemspbee

she looks cute but something’s weird about the romper. it balloons out towards the middle and the waist.

    • Adrianna Grężak

I can’t believe that is a $400 romper. She does look great though (cheap-looking romper aside)

    • nannypoo

OK, I am officially over the formal shorts. The shoes will be great next winter but for now they should be left in the closet.

    • ‘Becca’lise Deveaux

That doesn’t look like her at all.

      • Kristin McNamara

        Something’s funky about her face….

    • Jacob Bowen

I think the outfit would be cute for something other than a movie premiere. The necklace is SO not for this outfit, it is BEAUTIFUL, yet hidden among the already busy neckline. The shoes are FABULOUS!!! The shape reminds me of the shape of Dutch wooden shoes now done in a modern, heeled version. I guess I am a sucker for a bootie….

      • mhleta

Have you seen her in War, Inc? She’s quite good. She should be having a bigger career than she is.

    • Ashley Ellen Wilson

It’s a shame I can’t separate this gorgeous woman from the Lizzie McGuire/Disney Channel Hilary Duff I’ve always known. She’s actually really beautiful but I just see that awkward teenager every time. This is the first time I can see past her face, if that makes sense.

    • Kathryn Tewson

That necklace looks like the one accessory that Melisandre took off before she left the house.

    • rkdgal

I just can’t get behind a grown-ass woman wearing something called a “playsuit.”

    • Little_Olive

The fact that there is a garment called “playsuit” which is acceptable daywear for adults worries me.

      • formerlyAnon

Your instincts are correct, never fear. There is NOT such a garment. Just because she’s wearing it on a red carpet does not make it acceptable.

    • quiltrx

This looks cheap–just ugly and ill-fitting. Plus the shoes and necklace obviously wandered in from different outfits and flung themselves at her.

      • amanda siegelson

thank you. i so agree with you. i think this outfit is a total train wreck.

    • marlie

She really, really should have left that necklace at home. The rest of the outfit is cute.

    • Henry Maler

I’m so glad that she never became a train wreck that I could care less how she looks. Regardless, she looks really cute here.

      • Zorkness

        Agreed. So not Lindsay Lohan…

    • MannahattaMamma

why is she wearing Flash Gordon’s necklace?

    • boweryboy

      Trying. Too. Hard.

    • demidaemon

The necklace is the best part of this outfit. The rest (excepting those hideous shoes) is just fine.

    • Vainte

Those shoes are Star Trek on acid…

    • veriance

I like each individual piece, but not together. I’m woeful, but accepting the stink foot booties that are on trend right now.

      Love that necklace. Love. It.

    • mhleta

I love this girl, but I’m not on board with this outfit. The shorts are too short, the sleeves are too tight and the shoes are too Wintery. And I really really hate the jewelry, especially with this outfit. It looks like something an art teacher would proudly wear because one of her students made it for her out of spray-painted pipe cleaners.

    • SewingSiren

“Lace trimmed play suit”. To be repeated in one’s own head in the voice of Scar from the Lion King.

    • Tatiana Luján

her face is so different from the Hilary Duff I knew I don’t (still don’t) recognize her.

    • gsk241

      That’s a formal romper she’s wearing, isn’t it?

      • formerlyAnon

There is No Such Thing as a formal romper. No matter what anyone says.

    • Danielle

She looks almost unrecognizable in a couple of pictures.

    • Getoverit

I think she looks adorable. Having watched her grow up in the light, she seems to be one of the most adult/mature Disney (or was it Nick) stars that we have seen. Only complaint is her hair, what is going on there?

    • Erica_Vuitton

PLAYSUIT BWAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA No matter what cutesy name you call it, that shit is a romper! Are we sure this is Hilary and not her sister Hailey? Because….. someone clearly got some “refreshing” around the eyes/forehead if it’s not… and those booties ugh. New micro-trend callin it now: elf shoes.

    • Krysta

The shoes are awesome but don’t go, and WHO paired THAT necklace with THAT neckline!!

    • Diego!

Honey… I’m sorry for being so harsh, but you do not mix such a heavy necklace with that shirt!! And also, those are some ugly shoes! Send them back!

    • kimiakay

She doesn’t look bad to me, exactly, but she doesn’t look like Hilary Duff either. The “playsuit” is o.k., the necklace is too heavy for it, and the shoes are just weird.

    • Katie

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen Tina Turner wear that necklace. In Mad Max.
