Heidi Klum in Dolce&Gabbana at the America’s Got Talent Post Show Event

Why Miss Heidi. You look downright coordinated.

Heidi Klum at the “America’s Got Talent” Post Show Event in Dolce&Gabbana.

Okay, maybe a little too coordinated. It’s one thing to match your shoe to your skirt, but when your nails match your earrings, we’re starting to think your stylist has too much time on her hands.

We’re surprised by how much we like this. It definitely either needs a belt or needs to have the waist situated lower (something we seem to be saying a lot lately), but we find ourselves loving Heidi in a retro floral like this. Better yet, she didn’t hack six inches off the skirt in order to Heidi things up a little. It’s not perfect, but it’s got some style beyond “LOOK AT MY LEGS, BITCHES,” which makes it a winner as far as we’re concerned. She should turn to D&G a little more often.

She is a picture, as always, but I think she would better if she cut off several inches of straw. I think she would look great with a sleek, chic bob, though I know that isn’t really her style.

  • Diego!

Gorgeous! And I love this kind of make up on her, she looks fresh. I agree with the belt, but she looks pretty.

  • marlie

I wish the waist sat a little lower, and that she wore different shoes, but I like this. It doesn’t seem like she’s “trying too hard.” Except for the mani. That’s… different.

  • hughman

I’m don’t quite grasp how the slipcover for the bamboo sofa in the Florida Room goes with the dominatrix tube top.

    • StellaZafella

That’s MISTRESS Blanche Deveraux to you!

    • rainwood1

You say it so much better than me. That is one god-awful print.

    • largishbearishAtlish

God you took the words out of my mouth…’the drapes form my aunts house at the beach’ and ‘push up bras you can make out of sequined duct tape’….how is that ‘nice’ (and nails/earings/god knows what else) from a kit at the Craft store…ick.

    • Sunraya

Yeah, I think the whole thing is pretty ugly and tacky. I can put up with one, ugly or tacky, but not both.

  • Loola234

Is that a dress? A bustier and a skirt? If separates, are they from the same collection? Because they don’t “go” with each other…
I like each piece, but together…not so much…

  • kittenwithaquip

Whenever Little Lord Zacleroy or Nina say, “I question your taste level” on PR, I always imagine they’re giving Heidi the side eye. However, she’s looking sooooo much better this season than she did last season. Last season I worried she was on the verge of a complete breakdown.

    • alyce1213

I’m extremely amused when Heidi questions a contestant’s taste.

  • bellafigura1

OK, the skirt and the bustier are excellent and she was almost home-free. The accessories are sooooo cheap, it’s tragic. And honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a shoe torpedo a whole outfit so effectively.

  • The more I look at it, the less I like it. The lack of waist is a crime against models and the jewelry/mani matching combo is a crime against humanity. Who sits still long enough to have a laser show put on their hands? And what happens tomorrow when she’s not wearing something that goes with?

    • MilaXX

You must not know anyone into nail art. Folks are walking around looking like they have the latest Capitol Couture on their hands, with flowers, rhinestones, and everything but the kitchen sink on their nails. Heidi’s design probably didn’t take much longer than a regular polish.

      • I love polish. I love to change my polish every couple of days. But no, I could never get all Pintresty. The goofiest I get is the accent nail. I do seem some crazy shit on Instagram though. Oh well, to each her own.

    • ankali

I… I… I kind of love the laser show.

      ::hangs head::

  • mhleta

I really like this skirt, and the way she put it together. (Yes, the nails are a tad ratchet.) But I can also see this skirt on our girl Robin Wright with a starched white shirt, a popped collar and some badass jewelry. Well done, Ms. K!

    • crash1212

OMG! You are totally spot on about the Robin Wright take on this outfit!

  • I don’t think Heidi’s fashion knowledge is reflected in her own clothing. This dress had potential because the flowered print is pretty but she looks big on the bottom with the black top and large print skirt. She has a nice shape so it’s her clothes that are the problem. Heidi needs a roots touch-up badly, and she might try wearing her hair up or pulled back more often. She has a beautiful hairline but she’s simply more comfortable with her loose and hanging down.

    • ankali

I dunno, seems like she puts her hair up quite a bit when she’s going formal.

  • Sarah

I like her earrings, and I think she looks good, but I have a problem with putting the black blackness of that tube top with the different, matte black of the skirt (which might have been okay on their own as a match) but then pairing the whole thing with silly putties. I really deplore those shoes. I wish she’d done a strappy black sandal that called to the top.

  • KayEmWhy

She doesn’t need a lower belt, she needs an better bra!

  • teensmom99

I am ashamed to say this on this blog but yesterday I wore a similar skirt-mine is from . .. Talbots. And I went for simple cotton black top–didn’t think of the black sequined bustier but that might have been a better option for me, too :). And to be frank, I always think a few times before I wear my Talbots skirt–it may have been a mistake.

  • MilaXX

Add a belt and I’ll ignore the nails. I’m actually surprised at Heidi. I thought for sure she and Mel B would be having a diva off in the wardrobe department, but Heidi actually seems to be making attempts to tone down her short, tight & shiny taste.

    • See, I feel like NBC told her to leave her wardrobe at home and they provide everything. It’s all been so Heidi Lite.

      • demidaemon

I agree. I wonder is she isn’t maybe making a play to move PR again, consider she’s gone back to the hand that made her (on TV, at least). Conspiracy theory!

  • MarieLD

I watched a few minutes of that show on Tuesday night just — as I told my kids — to see Heidi. Her comments on the performer made very little sense and I said, Oh, Heidi, it’s a good thing you’re so pretty. (My boys laughed.) She’s different on that show. Not her Project Runway self. And I think it’s reflected in her clothes.

  • GillianHolroyd

I think she looks fine here, considering some of her get-ups in the past. Even the silly putty shoes can be justified. Just a tad short-waisted but otherwise no complaints.

  • SewingSiren

Matching the nails to the earrings is bad. Matching the nails to the Ring is worse. Holding all three to your face for a close up is QVC.

  • Joanne Abrams

  • KikiAvocado

the nails and jewelry ….a bit tacky/cheap ..and the nude shoes..nuff said… The makeup and outfit I like

  • kimmeister

Her nails make me want to go play laser tag.

  • meowing

I’m pleased to see that Miss Heidi is aging relatively gracefully. There are a few natural creases by her eyes that haven’t been Botoxed out. I’m sure she has various procedures done, but even on this season of PR, her look seems a little softer. Watch, now that I’ve written that, tonight she’ll wear her shortest, tightest, shiniest outfit with 4 inches of the warriest War Paint.

  • Angela_the_Librarian

I know they’re sorta tacky, but I’m also mesmerized by the nails. The nails along with the emeralds give off a witchy vibe, which I’m digging for some reason.
If the division between the sparkly top and floral skirt would have been a bit lower, I would have called this one of her personal bests

    • Getoverit

Im loving the matchy matchy earrings, ring & nails for some reason. If she had added a green shoe it would have been too much.

  • kckris

“Divine decadence! Do I shock you darling?”

  • Imasewsure

I’m surprised how much you like this too… I’m not feeling any of it except the shoes for some strange reason

  • Anniebet

She’s downright demure here, not something one usually associates with the Heidster. Those nude pumps don’t actually make me break out in hives either. It’s a good day to be Heidi.

  • That jewelry though. Wow.

  • ailujailuj

…take note Nicole, this is how a woman ages gracefully.

  • TLJezebel

Just not digging the 1991 floral print.

  • Sunraya

    Well, her shoes fit. 🙂

  • kathrineb

    Not feeling it at all.

  • bertkeeter

Heidi looks gorgeous! Not sure about the rest…but she looks hot!

  • sekushinonyanko

This is so dated that, if I had to guess who it is based on the thumb nail, I’d be like “duh, Vanna White from Wheel of Fortune.”

  • Aurumgirl

I know she has issues with taste but the thing that really bothers me about the short shiny outfits she wears is that they do absolutely nothing for her, figure wise. In fact, they seem to emphasize the fact that she doesn’t really have a waist. I think this is why people always wish she would wear something to make it look a little smaller, or slightly smaller. When she wear a bustier the shoulders seem to create a straight line down to her hips. It’s especially bad on this outfit.

  • Dan_In_NYC

We still have tight and shiny, even if she ditched short. I agree, a belt would have helped, but overall she looks pretty good!

  • RuthGo

I desperately wish there was a belt. The difference in the blacks of the bodice and the skirt are making my eyes twitch.

  • lrhoff

Oh this just doesn’t work at all.

  • i am ashamed to admit that i love the manicure. i’m a fool for emerald green.

  • veleri

    nailart is this century’s curse.
