Emily VanCamp and Barry Sloane on the Set of “Revenge”

Posted on August 12, 2013

Bless these two. They can make even the most bleh clothes you can find look hot.

Emily VanCamp and Barry Sloane film some scenes for their TV show “Revenge” in Los Angeles.

Alright, Ems! Getting to second base with Aidan! Who apparently had his love for you tattoo’d on his chest? We’re guessing.

So we should start watching again? That seemed to be the consensus in the comments section the last time we brought it up; that things improved just enough at the end of season 2 to make some people excited about season 3. Point/Counterpoint, people. Let’s hear it. Should we try and get our Revenge back on this season?

Yes! I miss your take on Hamptons Batman in a Bandage Dress!

  • Super_Red

I second that I miss the recaps, and I second that things definitely improved enough to get back with it.

  • aeb1986

If you guys stop watching I probably will too….it’s becoming a little too days of our lives for my taste

  • MilaXX

I’ll check back in on the season premiere based on the rec’s of my fellow BK’s. If the show is still lacking, I’m out for good.

  • Jennifer Peters-Ahnberg

I’m the wrong person to ask. I only watch it to drool over Barry Sloane.

  • andreawey

it’s gone into pretty extreme daytime soap territory…… silly…..

  • VioletFem

The show kind of lost footing near the middle of the series with a few too many subplots. However, the last few episodes it refocused its story lines to the main conflict of Emily and the Graysons. I will tentatively watch the first few episodes of season 3. I really hope that this season can rekindle the spark that made this show such a must see in the first season.

Seconded! I also felt they found a bit of the camp again at the end of the season which was a welcome addition to the return of a more focused plot.

  • KateShouldBeWorking

I heard that the writers issued a mea culpa and promised it would be better. I thought the most recent episodes reflected that and were a return to form.

  • jkatkins

If she gets out that red Sharpie on a regular basis, I’m in!

  • marlie

That shot of her touching his chest… ROWR.

    • conniemd

Agree. They definitely have chemistry. How about the two dimensional placement of her hand in the first shot?

      • marlie

Nice catch.. I missed that the first time around.

        • NinaBoo

It was the first, second, and third thing I saw. *washing out my dirty mind*

  • Swooned over every picture … except the one that was photobombed by a pair of Uggs.

  • conniemd

Yes. If nothing else, the clothes are always sumptuous, if nothing else. Dynasty for the tens decade. Also since she revealed who she was to Jack, there’s a whole interesting story narrative on how he responds to being deceived.

  • flamingoNW

I don’t think so, not worth watching again. I watched last season and won’t be watching this one

  • Amy909

i want her sweater..the perfect fall sweater!!

  • Nikko Viquiera

I say you watch and recap the first three episodes and make a final decision after! If anything, the final episode was amazeballs!

  • Shawn EH

I love how he’s “holding that pose” for the camera in the first shot.

  • Dan_In_NYC

Most of the stuff you guys bitched about, they’ve addressed. More focus on the main characters and less of these crazy business schemes and subplots. They got rid of an annoying character (won’t tell you who, but no one is sad), and they are ramping up the Victoria angst.

They are also giving the lughead bartender more to do. The finale was pretty epic. If they bring back Em’s crazy mom or introduce another older Victoria type character, I think we’d be pretty close to what we loved. Maybe another scheming hottie bisexual with a personality order would be ok, too…

  • Inspector_Gidget

The show still has its moments, though the plot really started to spin out of control. Who really cares though, when it features so much eye candy? (Barry Sloane was *born* to wear those tailored suits! And I usually find suit-and-tie pretty boring.)

There are signs that it may be picking up the pieces again. Let’s hope the other elements live up to the pretty people in pretty clothes!

  • Emily Smith

Please do I miss your recaps! And the season two finale was excellent

  • veronkimo

    YES! No questions asked!

  • LipstickForPigs

I need to know what that girl does to get her ass to look that amazing in jeans.

  • elzatelzabelz

Yes, watch again so we can get your recaps!

  • Callum

Please go back to the Hamptons! You’re reviews are about as life giving as Victoria’s quips.

  • Donna Schmidt

  • Sara Brams-Miller

Um, DUH! And why, oh WHY does Aidan have to be so hot????

  • VestigialMe

Absolutely give it a chance. If only because there was a pure Dynasty moment with the last scene Victoria had in the finale. It was the campiest thing the show’s ever done and it was *beautiful*, slow motion and all. Plus they retconned away the initiative and should get back to just pure Hamptons bitchery and what’s not to love about that?

  • gabbilevy

It was definitely on an upswing when the season ended.

  • deme

    I’m in.

  • kathrineb

I know they are filming a show but the outfit she is wearing looks like the kind of thing girls in my neighborhood/country wear everyday. Everyone is so afraid to have fun with fashion and/or put in effort.

  • Stacy Feng

    Yes, stroke that smooth chest.

  • Matthew Vella

PLEASE continue the commentary! Was dying to read what you thought of the black rose/Victoria fainting episode!
