Amber Heard in Michael Kors on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”

Posted on August 08, 2013

Love this look:

Amber Heard makes an appearance on the “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” show in Hollywood, California to promote her new movie “Paranoia” in a Michael Kors top and skirt paired with Christian Louboutin pumps and jewelry by EF Collection and Dana Rebecca Designs.

Michael Kors Resort 2014 Collection

It’s sharp and urban and bold. It’s a great look for TV. We just wish she’d get her hair off her breasts and slap on a cuff or a cocktail ring or something. Since the skirt matches her hair and skin and the only other shade to be seen is black, she could seriously need one or two pieces for embellishment. Still, we think this really suits her and she looks pretty damn good.

How is she walking with so much sass? It looks like she would have left her (2 sizes too big) shoes behind on the curb.

    • http://angrynerdgirl.net/ Jessi03

If you’d gotten Johnny Depp to leave Vanessa Paradis and their kids for you, you’d probably walk with plenty of sass, too.

      • Jane Patterson

I am weirded out by the fact that she’s with a man who looks so much like her ex-girlfriend Tasya. Or that she’s dating guys at all — not that it’s a bad thing if she’s bi, she was just such a staple of out celebrity lesbians roundups.

Hot as she is, this does not improve my opinion of either of them.

        • http://angrynerdgirl.net/ Jessi03

Whoa, I never realized how similar they look. They even dress alike!

  • Glam Dixie

The slits a bit high for good taste, eh, I’m underwhelmed. Not feeling the hair, either.

  • ashtangajunkie

Love that skirt! She looks sharp.

  • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Its a great look. a pony would have been a great hair choice, and a statement necklace.

    • decormaven

Co-signed. Or a pony and a declarative wrist cuff.

  • NYCGlamourpuss

Ehhh… it’s all right. She just looks okay to me.

  • http://angrynerdgirl.net/ Jessi03

    I love that outfit.

  • Diego!

She looks stunning!!! I love love love this look, tough, I would have gone with the model’s belt, it’s much prettier than the one Amber or her stylist chose.

    • 3boysful

I agree–that belt added some much needed punch and bling.

  • Tatiana Luján

The skirt is a size too small for her, it rolls up near the waist. I really like the look.
A pair of sunglasses, a cuff and a ponytail would look great.

  • stellamaris73

Am I the only one to think the skirt’s too long?

Not loving the ratty, two-tone hair.

    • NoveltyRocker

With the styling she’s employed here, it looks too long to me too. It needs to be worn with a more demure fit, shoes, and hairstyle to make sense to me. She’s rocking it like it’s a pencil skirt but I think the length lends itself to the styling on the model.

  • HM3

It’s a bold look, but that slit is a bit north-of-the-knee for a talk show. Depending on which leg she crosses over which OTHER leg, this could be a bit too much skin for a casual TV appearance.

  • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

Meh? That last shot is pretty killer, but if you have to have Leg! and Hair! just to pull it all off, maybe it’s not quite the right look? I think I’d like the skirt a little longer, and the contrast between hair/skin/fabric to be a little more dramatic. This needs to be a little more finished.

  • MilaXX

As I am an insomniac. While in stills I can agree with the need for jewelry and the hair needing be pulled back, seeing her walk out and sit last night, I can honestly say this was a great chat show look. I thought she looked relaxed and comfortable, but not over or under dressed.

    • mjude

i love the dress but for me the slit is way to high.

      • MilaXX

I didn’t even notice it last night. Then again the slit was on the side opposite the audience.

  • Monzerrat Ontiveros

IT looks very casual without the jewelry

  • Aurumgirl

The outfit is graphic and bold and because of that, it does need bold, simple, and strong accessories. The model’s belt is right with it, the one Amber has on just disappears. A great necklace is absolutely necessary, but the one on the model gives me the creeps, if you take context into consideration. I think the long free hair works well with this look (and a sleek long pony tail would be beautiful, too) but the spindly stilettos just don’t have the ability to hold your attention.

Still, the look is a welcome change, I love the simple lines and it could flatter all kinds of women. Personally, I’d wear a top with a similar neckline but longer sleeves, and that’s because I am already thinking about dressing this way this fall.

  • call_me_schmeg

is it wrong that i’m loving the sam elliot style cowboy security dude with her? he could totally refer to me as “lil lady” and i wouldn’t be offended a bit.

    • Ruth Preston

The very suggestion of Sam Elliott made my morning better. So, no, not wrong at all.

    • Denise Alden

So not wrong: he and the fine looking dude in the dark suit/silver tie are the best part of this picture for me!

    • Donna Tabor

Just the name Sam Elliott takes my breath away.

On the shuttle bus in Denver recently an Arizona cowboy/Sam Elliott lookalike sat next to me and chatted me up. Pant, pant.

      • call_me_schmeg

i hope he managed to say the word “sarsaparilla”!!

        • Donna Tabor

          No, gosh darn it.

    • http://www.GiftedCollector.com/ The Gifted Collector

      The cowboy is her father.

      • call_me_schmeg

dads are the best kind of security team.

    • birdgee

That’s her dad–he was in the audience for the show.

    • Barbara Affolter

      I’m loving her whole entourage!

  • filmcricket

Her hair is giving me a sad. She usually looks so polished, but the flyaway ombre hair just looks like any other starlet’s.

Also, another case of too big shoes.

  • Julie

I wish it were paired with a more interesting shirt.

  • Ms_Flyover

Can I just say how much I love her entourage? Rather – eclectic, aren’t they?

  • http://www.ellenciompi.com/ NurseEllen

I wish she had kept the belt from the runway look. And a chignon for all that hair would have really made a statement!

    • Lilak

Yep, my first thought was ‘too bad she wimped out on the belt buckle.’

And the hair – dear lord . . . I’m with you and filmcricket, below: long ombre center part defuses the full impact this get-up could’ve had.

  • gubblebumm

WHo is she? These “starlets” all look alike to me

    • Lilak

      (See: Depp, Johnny)

    • Laylalola

She’s really the It Girl of the moment — but I don’t recognize her from one photo to the next, and she really does seem basically interchangeable with most of today’s thumbnail-featured starlets.

  • flamingoNW

    Do not like

    • Not applicable

yea- me either. not feeling it- seems like the fit is off too…

  • Trisha26

The slit does nothing for this look, in fact it’s vulgar. And that last shot – who wants skirt fabric flapping between their legs? The model photo is unbelievably worse – so heavy all around.

  • sagecreek

I love it…and I’m glad she didn’t follow the model’s lead on the BDSM collar.

  • thecitysleeps

    Awesome outfit!

  • JauntyJohn

That skirt is dynamite. I vote for a cuff, since I think the neckline is very flattering for her.
Also, I guess the style now is to have the ends of your hair look super fried, like you spent the summer at the beach but swore off conditioner as part of some religious thing? Because I feel like suddenly all the girls have this look.

  • Rand Ortega

The Duchess at his best. Jetset hotness. AH looks fresh, chic & sexy. A dash of jewelry & this would’ve been a serious WERQ.

  • bellafigura1

Nope. It needs to hit at the knee. The length is destroying the graphic impact.

  • teensmom99

Her thighs are the length of the average woman’s legs. No one else would look as good in that skirt.

  • http://twitter.com/#!/Space_Kitty Space Kitty

Great dress, definitely helped by being in motion. Keeps it from looking too heavy, especially at that length.

  • MaggieMae

Very nice. My quibble du jour is I much prefer the clunky heels the model is wearing. To my eye, it makes the whole outfit look more modern.

  • AnnPopovic

The skirt waistband is coming up over the belt. Makes me want to grab the bottom of the dress and yank. Also agree that it’s too long.

  • MannahattaMamma

the fact that Johnny Depp left Vanessa Paradis for this chickita, who looks like the hot babysitter from down the street, makes me lose what little respect I had left for the man who TLo so eloquently dubbed “an elderly gay windchime.”

  • boweryboy

That last photo is so like a Michael Kors ad.

  • http://victoriapavlova.com Victoria Pavlova

I think she needed +1 size to the skirt. It is riding too high. And her smile is kinda forced, did she do something to her face?

  • guest2visits

Can’t say I love this dress, the skirt portion looks like it doesn’t fit, and the slit sits too high.

  • RuthGo

It might be that she’s walking in all these photos, but I like the way the skirt falls on the model better. Plus the model’s shoes are super cute.

  • ailujailuj

Where can I git me a Tex Tumbleweed bodyguard?
