Amber Heard for The Edit Magazine

Posted on August 19, 2013

Miss Amber gets the retro femme fatale treatment from The Edit.

Amber Heard is featured in the latest issue of The Edit magazine photographed by Francesco Carrozzini and styled by Tracy Taylor.

Dress by Bottega Veneta | Pumps by Alexander McQueen | Earrings by Ileana Makri | Sunglasses by Roland Mouret | Gloves by Lanvin

Dress by Jonathan Saunders | Bra by Dolce&Gabbana | Ring by Gurhan

Sweater by The Row | Pants by Moschino Cheap and Chic | Pumps by Jimmy Choo | Sunglasses by Roland Mouret | Earrings by Anita Ko | Bangle by Olivia Collings

It’s a good choice for her. She can work that look, seemingly effortlessly. What stands out about the styling here is that each look is fairly basic, but exquisitely curated. Check the credits on each look. In the immortal words of Edina Monsoon: “Names, names, names, darling!”

Yeah…but can you get it at Target? ‘Cause this shit’s ‘spensive!

      • kimmeister

I was wonder how cheap the “cheap and chic” pants were . . .

        • JDreesen

hmm…the cheapest i saw on their site was just over $300 (for the pencil skirt version of the animal print).

which loosely translates into “i’m busy that day and unfortunately will not be able to join any other BKs who go on that particular shopping trip.”

        • Qitkat

          $595 on net-a-porter!

        • Aurumgirl

“Cheap and chic” has always been an ironic name. But you know, you could probably find decent knock offs at Target, if you had to.

    • Introspective

that second pic is EVERYTHING. bitch looks fierce. lurv.

    • kimmeister

The shot of her in the Jonathan Saunders doesn’t even look like her. It sort of looks like a mega elegant version of Kelly Clarkson.

My favorite is the cover shot though. If only my stems looked as slender when I wear my leopard print pants!

      • charlotte

        I thought Marion Cotillard.

      • Datura

Perhaps uncharitably, I thought “early 90′s Vanessa Paradis.”

    • Garcia Loca

Love the art direction on these shots. It shows that the outfits (and the model) don’t have to be overwrought as all hell to make an impact.

    • flamingoNW

      She looks nice….

Please don’t let this chick’s career get any more traction…

    • Imasewsure

She doesn’t know how to work the hands in these shots but she looks beautiful. Can you imagine trying to walk on grass in those heels though? Like golf tees digging in… :)

    • Danielle

      Loooove the animal print pants.

    • kmk05

That shot with the Jonathan Saunders dress is exquisite. Her expression, her hair, the makeup, that dress (which really shouldn’t work but does).

    • marlie

She looks pretty fabulous. Classically and elegantly chic.

    • Josefina Madariaga Suárez

Sharon Stone realness… the original one must be proud.

    • decormaven

Way to elevate a look! Good job.

    • Jonquil

      Gorgeous!

    • AlexisPayne

And all I can see is Anne Bancroft in the Graduate realness.
Love! WERQ that Mrs. Robinson look.

      • http://stylishsass.blogspot.com/ Terri Smith

I thought the exact same thing. She IS trying to seduce me!

    • ashtangajunkie

This is fabulous with a touch of sexy as hell.

    • formerlyAnon

She looks fabulous, but I can see the ’80s sneaking back and I’m ambivalent.

    • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

Truly lovely, but nothing that stands out as being her. She could be anybody here. And I don’t mean that in the chameleon/character actress way.

      • alyce1213

I agree. She looks great in the clothes and they’re nice pictures, but it’s generically glammy and doesn’t convey anything particular about her.

    • demidaemon

I think this just proves that mix and match styling works better than “one label to fit them all” styling.

    • Therese Bohn

The cover picture was straight Audrey Hepburn/Holly Golightly!

    • MilaXX

It works. She looks like the coolest chic in the room.

    • Just Me

This is the editorial that Victoria Beckham should have received. I could see her fiercely working every shot.

    • Qitkat

I am vastly amused that Moschino Cheap and Chic leopard-print crepe slim-fit pants cost $595.

    • mrspeel2

She kinda reminds me of Bardot, but with clothes on. Stunning!

    • JauntyJohn

What’s one way to define “classic?”
When something is literally timeless, and you can imagine the image (and fashion) occurring at any time over the past 50+ years. That driveway shot in the Bottega Veneta is one such shot. She/the dress/the styling/the shot: The essence of classic.

    • http://stylishsass.blogspot.com/ Terri Smith

That last shot is quite the Mrs. Robinson realness.

    • CakesOnAPlane

Beautiful styling and photography, now which Instagram filter did they use??

    • Anniebet

Yes, the styling and photographs are excellently done. The clothes and accessories are lovely. Ms. Heard, while beautiful, is something of a cipher here.

    • Reality TV Casting

      dare i say… BEST SHE’S EVER LOOKED?

    • kim bunchalastnames

      she gives good pose.

    • Nondescript

These are really nice. I love the distant shot in the Bottega Veneta dress. She’s got stiff hands, but for a non-model it’s pretty damn good.

    • Ms_Flyover

The first shot makes me think Lolita grew up and married well.

      • Julie

Whoa you hit the nail right on the head.

    • lalahartma

      Love the last shot!!

She is everything in this shoot.
