*Jumps out of desk chair, hops into car and drives straight to Target.*

Edited: CRAP. I have to wait a month.

    • You’re so cute : )

      • marlie

My morning of back-to-back-to-back meetings has ended, and therefore my weekend has begun. My brain has already checked out.

    • gabbilevy

Oh man, I’ll meet you there. There are some SUPER cute pieces.

    • snarkmeister

YES. I covet the bag in the second look. Also the crossbody bags. And I think this collection has a decent chance of turning out to be nicely made, because nothing is super complicated. It’s a good collection for mass-production.

  • ToniMacAttack

Wow. This all look really amazing.

LOOK being the key word there, because if I’ve learned anything from these Target-designer collabs, it’s that sometimes the execution turns out to be shotty, material lackluster and cheap in person while appearing lux in photo shoots. These look promising but I’m not going to get my hopes up to much.

Though I will say my stuff from the Jason Wu for Target line has held up freakishly well.

    • random_poster

I agree. I love looking at the clothes at the store, but the quality is usually still lacking at the price points. I can’t count how many times I’ve seen the stuff go the clearance section.

      • Krafty_L

I agree – my Jason Wu stuff seems good quality; the Prabal Gurung line was awful!

        • d4divine

I still remember the full rack, of Rodarte I found my local Salvation Army…yikes! Where it sat FOREVER.
I do dig that trenchcoat…and the men’s clothing looks better than the women’s.

        • mhleta

I had a Jason Wu for Target top with an orange tuxedo ruffle that I accidentally consigned. Still kicking myself.

    • Katerina

Mine too, except for the purse. That looked ratty within weeks

  • Zosia Mamet, come on down!

    • VioletFem

You and I think alike. I immediately thought of Zosia for the first 2 (female) outfits.

    • charlotte

The “Boom” sweater must be for Katy Perry.

      • marlie

        Or Rihanna.

  • Diego!

I LOVED IT! I didn’t pay attention to the women´s clothes because I was in awe with the men’s clothes. Please send me everything straight to my closet! I want to wear all the clothes the guy is wearing. Thumbs up!

    • 3boysful

I find the men’s stuff way more appealing than the women’s. And I’m female.

      • Diego!

I re-checked the girls’ stuff and I have to agree. Women’s clothes in this collection look pretty store and teen

      • Jacqueline Wessel

        Me too!

    • demidaemon

I have a mixed opinion. I like most of the shirts, the suit is a bit blah, and those last pants are interesting but need to be tried on first/seen in person to properly evaluate.

  • Lily

I’ve seen several of the bags and I want them all. The target collections are sometimes hit or miss, so I need to judge quality, but I’m super into the BOOM shirt.

    • wtvoc

i actually thought of you with the boom sweatshirt. :’)

  • Feathers McGraw

ME ME ME! Wrong continent but still: ME ME ME! Menswear that is wearable but not boring! (hearts)

  • VioletFem

This is not helping my Target addiction.

    • marlie

      They’re enablers.

  • shorty j

I was like “meh, meh, cute bags, meh, meh…” and then I got to that tux/suit in the very last picture and totally lost my shit. I’ll take four, thank you very much.

    • formerlyAnon

    • moxie_lady

Totally. I never have a reason to wear anything like that, but I’m getting one anyway.

  • RuthGo

This is a really well done collection and it all hangs together fantastically well. I’ve got my eye on several of those bags and I’m going to see how big some of the clothes are cut.

  • RussellH88

Colder weather just means that the clothes whore inside of me comes out to troll the streets once more. God, I love fall/weather clothes.

  • Missy

Oh no, that green and blue dress is cute, but it SIGNALS ADULTERY!

(Okay, maybe I’ve just read too many Mad Men recaps…)

    • chrissybee

      I thought the same thing!

  • nannypoo

Wow, a collection that’s actually wearable. I would avoid the shirts that say boom and I hate the powder blue pants, but everything else looks like clothes for regular people.

  • Latin Buddy

Ugh. I know this is a stupid question – I’m a gay man and have no issues wearing womanswear but do you guys know if the cut is different? I love the graphic sweaters worn by the ladies in the look book. I wear Mens Small. What’s the size conversion for women?

    • formerlyAnon

Sooo dependent on cut. Sometimes womens’ medium, more often women’s large in my experience, but you really will have to try things on. Depends a lot on how broad you are across the shoulders.

    • Kimbolina

Since the BOOM sweaters look like they’re meant to be worn a bit loose, you probably don’t have to worry TOO much about the cut. Even if they go in a bit at the waist, it probably won’t be all that noticeable. More fitted items may be tough to figure out without trying on. Hopefully once they go on sale they will include some measurements on their website if you can’t get to a store. I agree with formerlyAnon about checking the shoulders, too.

    • vitaminC

The main problem would be length. Be prepared to pull those sleeves up or embrace them as 3/4 length.

    • warontara

It depends on the cut, but a Medium would probably work.

  • imspinningaround

I love this. Too bad I’m sure none of this collection will come in plus sizes.

    • twigg

I’ve noticed with the past designer for target collections not only do they not make plus sizes, the sizing was really off. I’m usually firmly in the L/XL range (depending on the fit and brand) and the XL stuff for Jason Wu and Prabal Gurung was WAY too small.

  • Kerri

I’ll take one of all the women’s in my size. Thank you.

That trench is TO DIE and the green and navy dress is giving back my life so I can wear the navy chunky knit sweater.

    • marlie

Those are my favorites too! I NEED that trench.

      • Linda LaPaz

Get in line behind me for that trench. And the floral print on white background dress under it.

  • formerlyAnon

More stuff here for the boys than for the girls that Target quality won’t ruin, I think.

Will be happy if snappy pants suits for ladies come back. Now I just have to remember where the jacket has to hit me at the hip for optimal figure flattery.

    • BrooklynBomber

My thought, exactly. Mostly the men’s look interesting. Some of the women’s looks like 3.1 Philip Lim, but what will the quality be?

  • Danielle

    • The big bag in the first female pic? YES! It *needs* me.

      • Danielle

Seeing that it’s going to be $54.99… trying to decide which bill can go unpaid.

  • teensmom99

I acutally think that a lot of this won’t look like anything special when executed in the synthetics that Target will have to use. Other than the dresses and the raincoat, I think most of this will be very disappointing and indistinguishable from average target clothes when seen IRL.

  • majorbedhead

And it will all be on the clearance racks by October 14th.

I am coveting those Boom sweaters, though.

  • shehungthemoon

I love the Target designer collections but I have never purchased anything from them because they do not fit me well at all.

  • moxie_lady

Loving the bags & shoes, and dying for the trench and the tux!

  • Sara Brams-Miller

Damnit. That dress would be perfect for a wedding I’m going to.

  • Tatiana Luján

I really like the black dress with the leather inserts.

  • OrigamiRose

I like the white/black floral dress with the asymmetrical hem, and the second LBD and the second to last dress… but that’s about it.

    • Donna Tabor

Ditto. The rest is pretty dull, isn’t it?

  • LJCdoc

kee-ute! Came her for the project runway recap, got distracted.

  • Ashleigh

    YAY MENS!!!!

  • MK03

Guess I’ll be the odd one out: Blerg.

    • kimmeister

You’re not alone. The only thing I kind of liked was the very last look.

  • JasmineAM

I NEED that BOOM sweatshirt in my life. This comes out 3 days before my birthday too hmm…

  • Chillmer

It never looks as good in person.

  • MilaXX

I want that yellow bag. I like the boom sweater, but Target keeps it; plus sizes as some dirty little secret, so I doubt they will fit.

  • Carly Warnock

This is going to be an amazing work collection.

  • Karen Dickerson

OMG Stop enabling my Target addiction! I NEED that BOOM sweater in my closet. Hopefully I can show enough restraint to wait until it all inevitably goes on clearance in a few months. 🙂

  • myristica_fragrans

i need that boom sweater, but i don’t think these collections ever take people with giant racks into consideration.

  • conniemd

Some really cute pieces there for both men and women.

  • birdie & bijou

Love the large black bag with the zippers down the sides. And the navy leather (dear God, please don’t let it be pleather) jacket.

  • Deedles

The Roy Lichtenstein-inspired stuff is MINE!

  • Kate4queen

I like the guys stuff a bit more than the gal’s but will definitely be trying on a few dresses!

  • Watts

No thank you. I have no desire to wear “BOOM” on my boom-booms. A tad too literal.

  • Annette B

i don’t go to target to pay $300 for clothing but i do like a lot of these.

  • mhleta

I like the Navy dress a lot and the little leather jacket. Not feeling the sky blue pants, though.

  • Anniebet

I do not know a single college age young person who would willingly buy their back to school clothes at Target, assuming that this is the “target” age group for the clothes. Maybe this collection would change their minds?

  • save_the_hobbit

Some of these look like “chic” scrubs…

Not gonna lie, would wear the BOOM sweater. That’s about it though.

  • librarygrrl64

After the Missoni debacle, I am soured on Target’s “special designer collections.”

  • FrigidDiva

I like the handbags and that’s. Why are the women’s shoes so ugly? I wear a size 10 and if I attempted those horrible looking flats my feet would look like snowshoes.

  • Beverly Kozma

Oh, dear. Camo is becoming the new leopard, isn’t it. I dislike both. But I love the grey and black men’s sweater.

  • LesYeuxHiboux

I kind of want to buy the navy BOOM! sweatshirt just because I have huge boobs and think the effect would be hilarious.

These aren’t really designed for a woman of my shape, but I like the navy dress with the kelly sleeves and the navy-and-black-leather shift. I might buy the navy blazer with the black lapels.

And maybe a trench for the hubby, with his broad shoulders and narrow waist.

  • warontara

I want a BOOM sweatshirt SOOOOO much! But, alas, I’ve got Tall Girl problems when it comes to anything long-sleeved. (Let me get out my tiny violin). I hope this stuff turns out nicely. I have yet to get much from the designer Target collections…just a Missoni travel pillow and a Proenza Schouler skirt.
