She should have worn the belt since it’s Comic-con

    • Ginny Ellsworth

And the shoes. And maybe a blue steel saber with matching sheath. Because it is Comic-Con!

    • Emily Smith

She should have found a belt with a comic-y buckle on it that’s equally enormous. Maybe batman or something and “unintentionally” start a rumor she’s the new batgirl. Heh.

      • sweetestsith

Oh boy, the RACISM that would come out! It would be amazing!

(also, I’d be totally fine with with her as batgirl. She does sassy competence pretty well)

        • Emily Smith

I didn’t even think of that. It would probably cause an avalanche of stupid, wouldn’t it?

          • sweetestsith

Considering how well the casting discussions for the Fantastic Four went, yes, most likely. It’s ok for white people to play non-white characters, but heaven freaking forbid they cast the opposite. Urg.

            Sorry, personal favorite soap box!

          • Darren Nesbitt

I don’t know much about comics. What’s wrong with the white Fantastic Four? Was a character supposed to be non-white?

          • sweetestsith

No, they’ve all been white since the beginning (as far as I know), but there was talk of casting a black man for Johnny Storm in the reboot. Not necessarily the hot sister (apparently a big deal to many that she stay white), and it was all very vague but caused A LOT of horrible message board drama. Meanwhile, in Star Trek, it’s apparently totally fine to make Khan white all of a sudden and everyone is just being oversensitive.

    • ballerinawithagun

Definitely needs the belt and especially for Comic-con!

    • Introspective

definitely needs the belt. and a brighter lip. a red lip and that belt would have made her a comic con heroine goddess. as for right now, its a meh for me…

    • jen

Yep. It totally needs the belt.

    • decormaven

Co-signed on belt. Heck, if you couldn’t wear it to Comic-Con, where could you?

  • Chuck Barthelme

Would have been totally comic con realness if she’d kept the belt and neck piece the model is wearing. Looks a little blah otherwise. Wish she’d gone with something referencing her star trek role.

    • Little_Olive

      Agreed.

And for that purpose I went back to check the model and omg, she is going to break in half.

I have to say Zoe is giving it more life without the accessories than the poor model with all of Mr T’s collection.

      • kimmeister

        The model’s waist is tiny!

        • Pudgy Possum

I KNOW! It depresses me. It suits Zoe more, although the shoulder straps need to be tightened.

  • Jessica Freeman

She needs a belt b/c this is making her legs look like a stilt-walker. Needs cowboy hat and fake guns.

    • Ginny Ellsworth

And a guy in facepaint with a crow on his head!

  • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

It’s a great look, just not for this venue, or the Film she’s promoting.

    • MilaXX

      Jinx!

  • veleri

I guess the jumpsuit would have been better strapless and with huge accessories (maybe a statement necklace and a huge cuff)

  • Mary Lauer

Absolutely should have deployed the HUGE lion’s head belt!

  • Tatiana Luján

This jumpsuit makes me think about an 80′s prom dress.

  • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

She really needed the belt and some jewelry that pops. As is, she looks like she’s in her slightly fancy jammies.

  • MilaXX

I wish she had just worn skinny jeans and a great top. Even with the wonder woman belt, this look is too dressy for this event. She looks overdressed.

  • braisin

Were there any publicity shots of Katheryn Winnick (from Vikings) at SDCC? I was at their panel, and she looked absolutely stunning. A bit overdressed for SDCC, but gorgeous.

This is a winner but something is missing. Instead of adding a necklace, I’d like her to add a bracelet and then let her hair down around her face and neck. A side note: IMO, most faces look too long when there’s body added on top of the hair without adding it to the sides. ZS must be a stylist’s dream. Her body is too cute.

  • Diego!

Where’s the make up? Where’s the belt? Oh…well!

    • CPK1

yes, make up!! Where did it go?

      • Diego!

        Maybe it’s in her purse?

  • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gaby

Jumpsuit made out of a 15 year old prom dress. I guess that’s one way to style oneself for Comic-Con. I wouldn’t have recommended it though.

  • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

Definitely needed all that heavy jewelry from the model.

  • elemspbee

uninspired. She looks wilted and so does the outfit.

  • Dan_In_NYC

I’m with others that a big honking belt with a super hero on it would be fab. I’m thinking wonder woman would be fun. Those are also very boring shoes.

  • Scimommy

First Zoe look that does not look FIERCE to me. Sad face. :(

  • KirFla

    What a strange outfit.

  • Qitkat

Beautiful bodice with its watercolor-y shading and pleating. A similar logo to Gucci’s (which could stand for Guardians of the Galaxy) would also make a cool belt buckle.

  • bertkeeter

Kills me that a design as pedestrian as this look is can actually emerge from a fashion house of any repute, let alone one like Balmain! Poor Pierre!

  • Kimmu

I’m still really having trouble seeing Gamora when I look at her. Marvel usually does a good job casting, but this one…. not feeling it at all

  • majorbedhead

Needs a belt. I’m not sure it needs the prize fighter belt pictured on the model, but it needs a belt.

    • http://thishotoldbroad.blogspot.com/ Sara Leigh Merrey

The prizefighter belt would overwhelm her, but it does cry out for a belt of some sort.

  • Imasewsure

Don’t love the outfit but it seems like a good choice for this venue. Hate hate the hair on just about everyone including her

  • Trisha26

Needs a belt similar to the shoulder straps (not the WWF-style on the model), metallic sandals, more vibrant makeup – especially lip.

  • largishbearishAtlish

belt/no belt..don’t care- this looks so wonderfully relaxed and she is wearing the —- out of it! Nice to see someone that will

be working hard all day look this relaxed and comfortable. (too bad she can’t just wander the con (I am sure she would be totally mobbed by fanboys (and fangirls). Nicely done!

  • tereliz

She needs a belt that says “POW!”

  • BeeBeauNYC

Striking resemblance to Jada Pinkett Smith here.

  • Danielle L

I wish she had worn the belt.

  • LauraAgain

Red lipstick would have brought just the right punch to this look. And I’m fine with her not wearing a belt. She’s got a great little figure and looks cool and comfortable without looking sloppy.

  • PrunellaV

The straps look a little WTF without the belt.

  • Anniebet

The model is rocking the hell out of that jumpsuit. Zoe, not so much. No belt, funny poufy hair that makes her forehead look way too tall, underdone makeup – she needed to go up a few notches.

  • macwell

    Belt.

  • spooki C

It’s fine from the waist up, but the bottom is all zoot suit and not flattering. She needs a punchier lip color or something because her face is getting lost.

  • quiltrx

She totally should have gone with the Comic-Con drag that IS the model’s look.
She looks painfully thin to me here, and the hairdo is doing her no favors. She looks like she’s really tired.

  • formerlyAnon

Damn. She could jazz it up a little, but the basics look amazing on her. The basic” jumpsuit with gold chain & garment fabric spaghetti straps.” C’mon. There is NO WAY any garment describable like that should work on anyone. She’s scary good.

  • marlie

The world is clearly coming to an end, because this is the third jumpsuit that TLo have posted that I have actually liked. This one isn’t executed perfectly, but I still like it.Though it definitely needs different shoes.
