Stacy Keibler in Christian Siriano on “Good Morning America”

Posted on July 18, 2013

Miss Stacy steps out onto the sidewalk for her solo number; a rousing, white-girl rendition of “I Will Survive,” sung while wearing a cute little skirt, of course.

Stacy Keibler makes an appearance on “Good Morning America” to promote her Lifetime series “Supermarket Superstar” in a Christian Siriano outfit from the resort 2014 collection.

Christian Siriano Resort 2014 Collection

Very cute. Attention-seeking in a bright, photogenic way; not a tragic, “I still got it” way, which is exactly how she should be playing it right now. “I’m happy! The world’s my oyster! New opportunities! I never seriously thought I was gonna marry that asshole anyway!”

We think the belt might be a bit tough to pull off with that skirt.

So what should Miss Stacey do with her new celebrity-status cachet? Spokesmodel? TV host? Talk show? Or will she just become another of those high-end booth babes like Jessica Alba and Hillary Swank; celebu-models who travel the world, standing, posing, and pointing at things; like Vanna White in couture?

At least she had her gold Marchesa “ohmygod-she’s-your-Oscar” moment.

  • fringebenefit

Regardless of the porn I see her signing her autograph to, she comes off very smart, classy, and personable. I think she should be able to pull off a talk show…maybe a fashion talk show. Or a fashion segment on a morning show or some such. She never puts a foot wrong in a fashion sense.

  • Lucía Gavello

I love that the minions behind her seem to be gossiping about her outfit.

  • formerlyAnon

After her path up/through the pro wrestling world, DWTS, stint as semi-pro arm candy at the highest levels, I am interestedly watching. My money is that she slowly transitions to the business side of the entertainment industry, but I’m not putting money on the path. Public appearances & vanity products? Time to find the behind-the-scenes/executive or even non-entertainment industry hubby and Father of Her Children? Something entirely different?

    • RebeccaKW

She moving into nutritional stuff. A line of healthy snacks for kids and some sort of tv show re: grocery stores, but I don’t really know much else.

  • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Ouch, the rumpled hem on that skirt is a MESS. Bad construction.

    • Judy_S

Ouch, wish you hadn’t pointed it out. It seems to be the same problem on the model (maybe the same skirt?). Not good. Still, she looks mighty pretty.

      • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

She does indeed. I would have thought Mr Siriano would not have allowed such a mistake to get photographed on a model and then lent out to a celeb.

    • LadyCelia

The ever-so-slightly-cockeyed stripe matching at the button band is making my head hurt.

      • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Yep, that too. The hem problem comes from trying to make a straight cut pattern piece, hem up on a curve. If it isn’t handled with delicacy and care this laddering effect happens.

        • LadyCelia

Oh yeah–I’ve done a lot of sewing, and it can be a bitch, working with a stripe on a curved hem.

          • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

In that sort of situation, I usually will applique the stripe to the straight cut piece to avoid the laddering issue entirely.

          • LadyCelia

That’s a great solution. I tend to “steam and ease” and stitch by hand.

          • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

I typically will do a basting stitch a 1/4 inch from the edge, and then slightly gather it till its really even, then turn up, and hem.

          • Monabel

            I love technical analysis!

          • angryparsnip

I have been reading many of your comments and others that tell me the technical side of fashion … this is what project Runways should be doing . Just a quick ” you could fix this by…”
for people like me who don’t know what is going on.
            cheers, parsnip

          • ballerinawithagun

Agree with the above chain. The idea of the skirt is fabulous, execution is horrible. The unnecessary buttons and the placement make me crazy! This is one situation where a hem dipping to a corner following the stripes would have been a better idea.

“Good and Plenty” is one of my favorite color combinations. I had a cute top in that combo that I was nicknamed “Miss Good and Plenty” when wearing it. Perfect name for a Bond Girl, don’t you think?

          • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

It is! Now all we have to come up with is a first name.

          • bristlesage

            Amanda? Amanda Gooden-Plenny

          • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

            Or how about Iwanna Gooden-Plenny?
            Pronounced Ee wanna.

    • Little_Olive

Ugh, yes! Actually that whole collection, which everybody praised so much, was quite poorly made at a closer look (the hem is probably someone else’s work, but still). And so thin! That hem needs to be at least another inch to fall properly.

  • Badriya Al-Badi’a

The belt was meant to match the original shoes worn by the model, I think. No need to keep it if she weren’t also wearing the shoes. Which I think she should have done.

    • ballerinawithagun

The dreaded white pumps. The original shoes always make me drool.

      • kimmeister

Yes! Even though I generally dislike T straps, the shoes on the model are to die for.

      • DuBey2

I hate white pumps period now. They really look old lady to me.

  • Nappysue

I think she and the outfit are adorable. And I love the belt with the skirt and even like the shoes the models are wearing with it.

  • d4divine

The nudey pictures are really creepy.

  • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

Bless her, I feel for any woman who has to go on national TV and exclaim “We never talked marriage and babies, I’m not into any of that.” over and over again. Why do people find so hard to believe that not all women want that and it must be why it never works with George?

As for future endeavors, frankly I’m a little surprised she didn’t upgrade to a filthy rich non celebrity. Surely she met plenty while running the globe with GC. Maybe Salma can set her up? I’ll be watching for the business angles from her.

    • decormaven

Cosigned. Miss Lady’s going to do just fine. She built her contact base; I see a parlay into bigger business for her.

  • MilaXX

They actually asked her how she was doing post Clooney fake relationship breakup. Of course she said something noble about how she will always care for him, blah, blah, blah. Anyhoo, she’s got some show called Supermarket Sweep coming out.

    • Angela_the_Librarian

Oh, if only they were bringing back the Supermarket Sweep from the 90′s. I used to love watching that show when I was home sick from school.

      • MilaXX

No , it’s some sort of food/cooking competition show

  • GorgeousThings

Cute skirt, but what’s with the wonky, ill-sewn hem???

  • Kristin McNamara

How cute is that lacy coral dress on the woman behind her in the first photo? Love!

  • nannypoo

I don’t like her in these flirty little outfits. She’s too tall and looks too mature for this type of skirt.

    • Denise Alden

      Agreed. That skirt looks cheap.

      • FashionShowAtLunch

        In a chip way.

        • Sunraya

Love this comment!!! I loved it when it was said on Project runway!

  • imakeart

Gonna take a line from Project Runway and say that skirt is poorly constructed!

  • f_yeah_marie

She’s probably not going back to wrestling…

  • marlie

It’s cute. She’s already landed herself the job of a lifetime, hosting a supermarket game show.

  • Emily Smith

Ah yes, what a sad break up with the worlds most notorious marriage avoider. She will cry in to her millions and pretty clothes. Actually I like her a lot, never really cared for George much TBH.

  • JP

Shame she didn’t wear the shoes from the model look — would have made the belt make more sense. Still, I wish I looked that good!

  • desi_girl

That skirt looks so DIY to me! The one on her especially looks hand-sowed and unfinished, Project Runway-ish. And I would never have expected Stacy Keibler to wear Siriano. Something isn’t working!

  • Poeta Paz

She’s a TV host already. She has some kind of food show competition.

    • MartyBellerMask

I was about to say that. Looks like the partnership paid off.

      • Shawn EH

Food or shopping? I think a grocery store figures in somehow. Mass marketing ideas?

        • demidaemon

New food products that the contestants make and pitch to a group of judges.

          • Poeta Paz

The funny part is that she has to try the food and eat it. She probably thinks “I lost George and now I have to eat fattening food to survive” The horror!!!

  • http://marshmallowjane.com/ marshmallowjane

The skirt is awful. The design is cute, but the execution is dreadful. The seams aren’t pressed. The darts look funky. The lines don’t match. The hem is sewn badly. It rippled. Stacy looks cute enough. The skirt would be a breath of fresh air if the construction weren’t so poor.

  • sweetlilvoice

I think the fabric looks shiny too, like satin almost. That adds to the overall bad effect. I like the other version better, the shirt with the peplum and pencil skirt.

    • DuBey2

This! The white part especially. Along with everyone else’s observations about poor construction, the fabric, in that style, just looks cheap and I’m guessing the actual price of this Siriano is not cheap.

  • frannyprof

Well, she has the Clooney bump (literally and figuratively), so she will no doubt enjoy a life of success and fame, just like all of his other ex-girl… oh, right.

  • NYCGlamourpuss

She looks cute – not mindblowing, but cute. I can’t think of anything more depressing than being briefly famous for having dated someone, and then being – very obviously – dragged onto a talk show because of breaking up with that famous someone.

  • Imasewsure

    “Yeah I got dumped!”

From a marketing perspective (and also just to say FU to her new ex) she should immediately hitch herself to an even bigger star (how about Gosling?) and then dump him… then she gets a talk show for sure

Oh yes and the clothes… don’t love the outfit but it’s probably those pumps (yuck) and the belt more than the outfit itself

  • Brian G. Cox

Yes, it’s fun, but after the model pics I can’t un-see the wallpaper of the GO rooms at the Flamingo in Las Vegas.

  • Erica_Vuitton

I legit wore that belt with an 80s groupie costume for Halloween last year…. hum with a black tank and a hot pink and white lace mini skirt.. random similar outfit!

Also Stacy was a famous and popular WWE Diva long before she dated George. Sad people only see her as his old arm candy.

  • SpillinTea

*Disappear like the rest of the almost-Mrs. Clooneys

  • MzzPants

If nothing else, the Clooney era taught her how to dress in public.

  • oatmealpie

I love how Bald Handler is checking out Stacy’s bikini photo.

  • Sunraya

I think that skirt is way too young for her. I think it would be great on a teen.

  • MrsBug

It’s hard to judge a book by its cover, but she always looked like a nice person, ya know. I have no idea what makes me say this. Very pretty. George?! Who needs him?
