Ryan Gosling in Salvatore Ferragamo at the “Only God Forgives” Premiere

Posted on July 17, 2013

And now a moment of creamy Gosling goodness.

Ryan Gosling attends the premiere of “Only God Forgives” in New York City in Salvatore Ferragamo.

Salvatore Ferragamo Spring 2013 Collection

Although we’re afraid we don’t love what the cut of that jacket is doing to him. And judging by his very odd body language, neither does he.

    Neither do I.

  • Tatiana Luján

the suit looks much looser on the model than on him.

  • Take it off! Take it off! Take it off!

    • veleri

annabelle, I respect you more and more everyday.

  • It does make him look oddly narrow shouldered; which he most assuredly is not.

    • quiltrx

This is exactly what I was seeing, too. Tiny shoulders and huge head…and he’s never looked like that before. The seaming all looks like it’s in the right place–what sort of witchcraft IS this jacket??

      • It’s really hard to suss out. The fit at the shoulder and across the chest seems fine. Its snug, but not pulling in any way. I wish I could see more clearly how it’s cut.

        • another_laura

The Gosling doesn’t want you to know that he consented to wear a suit that gives him hips.

      • Puckndc

Not enough padding in the shoulders..

  • StellaZafella

Body language indeed: “Please, ma’am, may I remove these uncomfortable togs?”

  • Denise Alden

Oh, Ryan! What happened, honey? This is neither creamy nor good.

  • Catiline

I really like his choice of shoes. Aside from that, I’m just going to go back to picturing him shirtless.

  • formerlyAnon

    I think he’s melting.

  • KateShouldBeWorking

It’s the boy equivalent of lollypop head.

  • Meg

The cut on the jacket makes him look very…womanly?

    • MartyBellerMask

Yes, that’s it. The Gos appears pear-shaped.

  • Dawn Sinclair

I fail to see the appeal. Also, don’t wear a fabric that will crease like a creased thing on creased street in a pale colour on the red carpet.
    That is all.

  • Matthew Dinda

I’d just like to say that I was at this premiere with him last night, and……when you’re near him the suit really doesn’t matter (it doesn’t hurt, but my god).

    • Seething pool of jealousy, here.

      • Beth513

        Me too!

  • quiltrx

I think there’s a “Hey Girl” in this somewhere…something about how weird he looks, but it’s okay, because…something.

  • kimmeister

I don’t like what the cut of his pantlegs is doing either.

  • Not good. Too small.

  • Anniebet

    Narrow sloping shoulders need help.

  • MilaXX

I am immune to the Gosling.

    • Jaeda Laurez

I was, until i saw Crazy Stupid Love. He becomes more adorable with clothing off.

      • MilaXX

Im not a rom com kinda gal. Until he does an action movie convincingly I will likely remain immune.

        • ShaoLinKitten

Drive wasn’t action movie enough for you?

          • MilaXX

Didn’t see it. Didn’t interest me.

          • Beth513

That movie is surprisingly really excellent and is the movie in which the Gosling came to melt my panties.

          • ShaoLinKitten

OK, but he has done an action movie convincingly. You just haven’t seen it.

          • MilaXX

Not sure why this is so important, but it’s not the kind of action movie I like, so for me it doesn’t count.

          • MartyBellerMask

Didn’t care for it either. But he killed me in “Blue Valentine”.

          • shorty j

For what it’s worth, I didn’t think “Drive” really counted as an action movie at all. It was more like a film that had some action scenes.

      • kolokOlchik

Same here. I didn’t see the appeal until that movie.

      • veleri

Yeah, I loved him in The notebook, Drive, and above all in Lars and the real girl. But with “crazy stupid love” I fell in love sooo deeply.

ehr, a minute of silence for my ovaries.

      • queen b*tch

That film slayed me, he is now top of my list, bad cream suit or not (preferably not!)

  • alyce1213

I’m just so tired of tiny suits. The pants don’t fit either.

  • conniemd

Have I said how much I hate suits with white dress shirts open buttoned without ties. To me they look like the guy who has been dressed up all day (or night) and finally lets his hair down and throws off his tie. Colored or striped, plaid, etc. shirts look great this way. White not so much.

Oh and Gawd does he have gorgeous bedroom eyes.

    • 3boysful

Agree with your sartorial assessment. Also, I hate with a passion white shirts with cream jackets. Husband and I got into a huge fight over that one once. (Married to the man who thinks packing means throw a bunch of stuff in a bag and see how it all comes out. Alas.)

  • Joyce VG

    It’s too small! Gee whiz.

  • Loola234

It makes him look wee. No good.

  • E. D.

That jacket is too loose in the waist.

  • crash1212

    Love him. Love his shoes.

  • kim bunchalastnames

i like the monochromatic idea behind this, but in execution? that shirt has too much blue in it to work with the cream-colored suit. … also? he looks strangely like littlefinger here.

  • Josefina Madariaga Suárez

Maybe I’ll get killed for saying this, but I’ve never understood why people think he’s so dreamy and hot and whatever. I love that he always presents himself as polished as anyone could be, but other than that… I think he’s very bland.

    • ShaoLinKitten

He looks far better in motion than he does in stills. There is something about the way he talks and moves that is dreamy, whereas in pix he looks kinda dorky.

      • alyce1213

Agree. I thought he was kind of bland until I actually saw a few of his movies, notably Drive. His performance was quiet, deep and mesmerizing. Also, he was a dancer as a kid and he does move well. There’s a lot going on beneath the beige exterior.

        • ailujailuj

I voted for your post once and then again another 12 times in my head.

    • shorty j

I don’t find him particularly attractive* but he does give off this really kind of calm, quiet, dreamlike air that is understandably appealing in a “glass of cold water on a hot day” kind of way. The comment below saying that he was trained as a dancer actually makes a LOT of sense – I am also a dancer, and in my experience, people who have dance and movement training (but particularly straight boys, for whatever reason) often move in ways that are really aesthetically fascinating and you just wanna watch them, like, walk around and sit in a chair and stuff.

*although he does have pretty good college-boy hair. I actually took a picture of him to my barber yesterday (I’m a very-short-haired girl).

      • formerlyAnon

Without going into Ryan-specifics, your comments on men with dance training are dead on, IMO.

It’s all in unconsciously knowing what to do with your core.

  • Murtada

he always poses like this on the red carpet… you are reading too much unto his body language

    • dancho

Yeah, his head always leans strangely up and out on the carpet.

He needed color on a tie (or collar, like the model) to define the center of the torso and raise the eye from the cut of the bottom of jacket.

  • stephbellard

    1) I’ll have two scoops please

    2) He can cream me anyday

    • veleri

I going through your second point and something seems weird. HOWEVER, I’ll have what you’re having.

  • ItsDicey

    Oooph. Not good.

  • queen b*tch

    he is MINE!

  • RuthGo

Is there an issue with men wearing light colored shoes? Lately you’ve been showing men in light-colored summer suits and they look great until you scroll down and it’s like a needle scratch, those shoes from January. Can’t they wear nice bucks or something?

  • Diego!

He looks shoulderless. I can’t, this is terrible!

  • marlie

Such potential, but the execution is a little off. The whole suit is a skosh too small.

  • stubbornthoughts

You guys just had say “cream,” as if that wasn’t already a given when presented with a Ryan Gosling pic.

  • Ashleigh

what’s UP Ryan? Are you eating? Are you just depressed?? Cheer up, mate! what do you have to loose?

  • Danielle L

    Like buttah on toast.

  • vitaminC

The starburst explosion of wrinkles emanating from his dick doesn’t help, either.

  • tmchale

    The pants are wrinkled.
