Rose Byrne for Harper’s Bazaar Spain

Miss Rose straps on her best Fashion Face.

Rose Byrne covers the August 2013 issue of Harper’s Bazaar Spain magazine photographed by Louis Christopher and styled by Angela Esteban Librero.

Jacket by Altuzarra | Top by Narciso Rodriguez | Skirt by Delpozo | Shoes by Christian Louboutin | Earrings by Harry Winston

Belt as Top by The Row | Skirt by Delpozo | Earrings by Fenton-Fallon | Necklace by Dana Rebecca | Bracelet by Van Cleef & Arpels ] Rings by Repossi and Albi | Shoes by Giambattista Valli

And it’s a good one. She’s got the face-giving skills of a model, even if her posing could use some work. We’re surprised we don’t see more of her in the pages of fashion mags, since she’s among the more fashion-forward of the lady stars at the moment. And she clearly gives good face. It’s a shame, though. We don’t think the styling here is doing much for her. She’d be better in more dramatic looks.

my god, for someone who looks like a PUF in headlights on the red carpet, she looks amazing in these photos.

      • drdarke

        Okay, @disqus_wuTRZy1Pzi:disqus – “PUF”?

        I’m a middle-aged style-challenged male married heterosexual – I’m trying to comprehend fashion past “Yeah, that’s clean….”

      • Rhonda Shore

She does, this is the best I’ve seen her look.

    • MilaXX

I like the cover shot, but the inside pics just look awkward. It’s like a colt trying to find it’s legs for the first time.

    • ballerinawithagun

Her face is stunning but it should be Christine Ricci in the photo shoot.

    • Kiltdntiltd

Damn, she has the face and the bod to be able to slam this outta the park with the right stylists and photographers. What a shame this misses.

    • capybara_cafe

Her face is amazing in these, wow. Don’t care for the clothes at all though.

    • kimmeister

She literally looks like a doll on the cover! (Not a diss.)

    • Random Compliments

I’ve loved her ever since my obsession with Damages. Is she in something new?

      • Michelle Le

She’s in the latest Vince Vaughn/Owen Wilson formula…Google Crashers*

        *The Internship

    • clatie

Great pictures. Could maybe have backed off on the photoshop, though. She looks like she is made of vinyl.

      • VeryClaire

If this weren’t so heavily photo-shopped I’d be worried about her bone density. Those are the arms of a malnourished child.

    • Kimberlini

I love the earrings but that eyebrow is scary…I think it’s alive.

    • Richard Banger

LOVE the cover. She’s serving up “early 80’s Scavullo cover shot” realness

      • decormaven

Yes! The cover is fabulous; not so much of a fan of the inside shots.

      • formerlyAnon

But remind me: DID Scavullo do any cover shots where the mane of hair wasn’t blown back by an industrial fan? Because I swear that’s all I can think of . . .

    • gabbilevy

The cover is giving me LIFE (love the eyebrows and the ear cuff, especially) but the inside pics fail to live up to its promise.

    • Fordzo

Rose is only happy when it rains.

    • annabelle archer

Wait. Whose face did she strap on? I kid. But really, that second pic, I could have never told you that was her.

    • VioletFem

Rose is beautiful, the styling is atrocious.

    • Diego!

Clearly Photoshop is doing her some favors, and erase her constipation face she always carries on the red carpet from the magazine.

    • fiestyfashionfem

What those cage shoes do to her toes – ugh! I think she is beautiful. But – those shoes give me the willies.

    • quangtran

It is too bad you guys didn’t post Rose’s cover for Australia’s Harpers Bazaar October 2012. Both the cover and the spread were absolutely gorgeous.

    • MoHub

Second pose: Sustainicorn’s “sniff your armpit.”

    • YoungSally

“belt as top” I never thought I would hear that phrase.

Although back in the early 90s, I was on the West Coast and a woman had on a very short skirt and my companion said, “Nice belt”

    • formerlyAnon

The clothes are nothing special (most impressed with the cover), & she’s not quite a model, but her face and the photography are in line with what I *expect* from Harper’s. Their editorials ought to be distinguishable from the shots of celebrities in People or the “what’s hot now & how to re-make the look for your budget” pieces in the women’s (vs. fashion) magazines. [and, of course, it’s Harper’s Bazaar Spain].

    • Lilak

When did she grow those long, fashion model legs?

    • cowper

This is how I wish Selena Gomez would look. Tone down everything a few notches: less makeup, less hair.

    • A.

Absolutely right! Why dont we see more of her (I think Damages is still on??)? I think she looks fantastic both in pose and espcially in face.

    • Aaminah Khan

Oh wow. Who knew? She looks fantastic.
