      Me likey…..especially the fuschia pants!

      • VioletFem

I’d love to see a guy in real life who could really pull off that look.

        • Coolekat

          Rickey Fowler the PGA golfer

        • formerlyAnon

I know a lot of guys – mostly under 30 and in an artsier or at least relaxed-dress-code environment – who could (and would) wear the fuschia pants. But not with pastel shirts/jackets.

      • MilaXX

You’re icon looks like my kitty.

        • FunButNutz

<——–This is Colgate…he died a few months ago at a ripe old age. He was diabetic, had FIV, cancer two times, arthritis, mange, a bum liver and a hyperactive thyroid.

          • MilaXX

Glad he lived a long life despite all that. I should post a current picture of Stormie. She’ll be a year old next month and has come a long way from the barely a pound kitten I found in the yard last summer.

    • MilaXX

I like a lot of this, especially that opening sweater, but oi, the styling is so hipster frankenstein intentionally fug.

      • NoveltyRocker

So many recent lines have looked inspired by hipster tumblrs and Urban Outfitters—the geometric shapes, neon accents, tribal/native/animal imagery, and color dipped look—wonder how many high-end designers are influenced by the internet these days. Or maybe all that look flowed from runways a few years back and is filtering back up again?? At least the fit on all of this is great and I haven’t seen a flared-cut pant anywhere for a bit.

    • Jen

      Actually wearable men’s collection!? Blasphemy.

Really though, there are a ton of great pieces in here. Thank you, Paul Smith.

      • Kent Roby

My thought exactly! Even with fuschia, peach, metallics, and color-blocked pants, this collection looks downright “normal” compared to the other men’s collections we’ve been seeing.

    • Coolekat

      Beautiful

    • Frank_821

I like the clothes as a whole. They have a point of view and a defined customer. What I don’t like is the choice of models. I rarely have seen a skinnier group of twink models on the runway. They are detract from the clothes. Actually some of these models are all wrong for the collection

      • demidaemon

Agreed. I have a similar comment elsewhere that puts a little more detail into this thought.

    • ConnieBV

I’m sorry. I’m fixated on Prince Valiant there in the last row wearing Becky Conner’s shirt and now he is all I see.

      • NoveltyRocker

Ha! That truly is an Aunt Becky shirt.

      • RedRaven617

        Oh geez, I can’t un-see it now!

    • hughman

The mushroom sweaters are a little twee for my taste but I’d cut a bitch for one of the trench coats.

      • kimmeister

Whoa, at first glance I had thought they were jellyfish rather than mushrooms. Silly me!

      • YourBaloneyDontGotNoSecondName

I would take you up on that fight, to the death, down to the last plastic spork. I need row 1 center square more than I need oxygen.

        • hughman

          *takes off earrings*

          • YourBaloneyDontGotNoSecondName

“Somebody hold my baby while I go stab her.”

          • MilaXX

            *passes you the vaseline*

      • formerlyAnon

You are, indeed, a discerning critic.
        (Translation: I agree with you.)

    • Aaron

Yikes! There is nothing in that entire collection I would associate with. I think it is way too feminine in the materials, cut, and color.

      • MilaXX

I think some of the brighter sweater could work . I can imagine anyone other than Brad Goreski or Alan Cummings rocking those pink pants though.

    • Shawn EH

I’m re-reading Harry Potter so all I can see are Slytherin and Hufflepuff, back to school, kids!

      • demidaemon

That must be a pretty homosexual version of Harry Potter (and, really, that can only improve it, am i right?).

    • kimmeister

The tan blocks on the yellow sweater look like cutouts.

    • NOLA_gal

OK, confession time. I have to stop looking at runway photos, since all the models male and female, look to me like concentration camp refugees. It totally ruins the look in my eyes. All I can see are their poor starved little faces and poking out shoulder blades.

      • demidaemon

I’m pretty sure everyone on the runway is male. How that colors your further interpretation of this is up to you and your brain.

    • Glam Dixie

RuPaul’s Ladyboy song instantly started playing on my internal soundtrack. Some nice separates in there, I guess.

    • http://wipgirl.wordpress.com Kristel

These models are all so YOUNG. Normally I find myself thinking how young the female models are, but I rarely find myself thinking they raided the local junior high to find models to walk to the runway for the men’s shows. Practically zygotes, most of these ones. I got distracted from the clothes first by the bad hair and then by the babyfaces under all that bad hair – had to scroll back up to see these mushrooms people were talking about in the comments. What I noticed of the clothes was that they look mostly pretty wearable as is. A little less crazycakes than a lot of the men’s shows have been.

    • Chadge

If Ugly Betty were still on the air, these outfits would comprise all of Marc’s outfits for the upcoming season.

    • Raymond Dnomyar

Obsessed. With everything but the last three looks.

    • Trisha26

Love, love, love the mushroom prints! Trippy.

    • conniemd

I really like the black/white plaid/checked pants with the leather jacket. A lot of the tops, jackets and pants are eminently wearable – by either sex I might add.

      • mellbell

Agreed. Would totally rock the color-blocked sweaters if I could afford them. Menswear shmenswear.

    • formerlyAnon

Trousers good, coats mostly very good, jackets variable, pullovers – oh hell no. Mostly. Dislike many of the colors, *hate* the color blocking. They just look like the nerdier end of ’80s cheap retail. Though certainly not cheap and not intrinsically unattractive.

      It’s just me.

    • KikiAvocado

this is the best mens collection i have seen so far for 2014- I love the fuchsia accents on the bottom of the jacket

    • shawna

Wow these are some extremely young models.

    • fuzhenzhen

Why is Skrillex one of the models?

But in all seriousness that opening sweater is fantastic and I want it.

    • quiltrx

I like guys with fun hair…keeps the runway interesting. And I’ll take the fuschia coat and mr. pretty hair with it.

    • Anniebet

Color me surprised… I really really like this collection. No clown getups, no speedos, just some good looking, wearable (if a tad colorful for some males) and unusual clothing. The guys are pretty cute too.

    • Sushy Gooroo

You can actually imagine real people wearing some of this. And I love this light orange stuff, although I am sure it is not called light orange but something very exotic.

    • Patrick Cleary

This is terrific, especially the mushroom sweaters and the wild fuschia!

    • jmorino08

This is so tame and normal compared to the other menswear collections you’ve featured lately, but seriously, that last shirt with the embroidery? Pretty sure my grandma wore that in the 90s…

    • PeaceBang

Lots of awesomeness here, but that is a spectacularly poisonous shade of pink.

    • roche

Compared with the previous three men’s shows posted on TLO I really like this one. Yeah, some of it goes too far, but the color and the shapes are classic and chic to me. How gorgeous is Clement Chabernaud in his photos here?

    • Annarosa

too much pink but we almost got it.

    • demidaemon

I actually kind of like the first look (and the boy wearing it) but I was too distracted by the other models (and not in a good way) to properly evaluate the clothes. At least they didn’t make me like to blind myself, unlike some of the other menswear collections this season. So I guess they are fine, at the very least.

    • jangma

I like a this collection a lot. Some of it is giving me a twee Mick Jagger vibe, and I love it.

I want to feed all the models pie.

    • MoHub

Are any of those models past puberty? Because not one of them looks to be over 14, and it’s distracting me from looking at the actual clothing.

    • Puckndc

I do love some of the sweaters..

    • barbarienne

Hooray! A men’s collection that has enough manly pieces (many in color) that he doesn’t have to be a 20-year-old skinnyboy to wear them!

Impressive to see such a broad range that nevertheless hangs together as a coherent collection.

      • NBG

Agreed. This is the first men’s collection I have seen in a long time that didn’t look ludicrously unwearable.

    • Terry

I’d like the fuschia coat and black/fuschia jacket for myself!

    • Diego!

Me likey too, except the fuchsia rain coat. That´s a little bit “Barbie House”. And I hate pink/fuchsia :P

    • Aaminah Khan

I like the colour-blocked sweaters a lot. I like to think I could force my boyfriend into at least a couple of those.

    • robertc.

Are these the scariest looking models?

    • Ashleigh

      ME TOO. love love love!!!

    • Jonquil

All of those models look like they have fleas.

    • editrixie

I unabashedly adore this whole thing. Even the parts I don’t adore, I adore for being part of the collection.

    • Daktari100

I love seeing the ’80s again!
