Olivia Wilde in A.L.C. at the ESPY Awards

Posted on July 19, 2013

We get that the ESPYS are far more testosterone-laden than your average awards show/celebrity fuckfest, which means the ladies in attendance like to show things off a bit more than normal, but Olivia seems to be struggling with the concept of “hoochie.”

Olivia Wilde attends the 2013 ESPY Awards at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California in an A.L.C. top and skirt paired with a Jimmy Choo clutch, Jerome C. Rousseau sandals, and Rona Pfeiffer jewelry.

It’s fine and all, but it’s so demure we don’t even know why she bothered with that little strip of belly. Besides, the top fits her terribly. And the skirt is really cute, but it just looks too business-like for the event.

Olivia – that skirt just isn’t right for you. Can I have it?

  • Little_Olive

That skirt needs to be given life to by someone with HIPS. My dear Olivia here looks like a column in a roller-disco.

I like the top and the bracelet though.

    • MilaXX

That’s what the look is missing. It needs a body to fill it out. Send this Ciara, she’ll have a body party with it and make everyone drool.

  • hughman

It looks like if you put a finger in each end of that skirt and pulled you’d never be able to get free.

    • joanna dash

      I’m dying.

    • crash1212

Funniest thing I’ve read ALL damn day!

    • Little_Olive

It’s what I do with scotch tape at the office!! Oh Hughman, you never disappoint.

    • demidaemon

You mean it’s the fabric version of a Chinese finger trap?

    • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

I love you with all my heart.

  • sweetestsith

I’m not sure its quite right for the event, but I think she looks SMOKING hot in that outfit. For, er, whatever that’s worth.

  • kimmeister

The skirt makes me want to go eat spaghetti.

  • joanna dash

I dig it. I don’t think the top fits poorly. I would take the skirt up 3 inches and 1 inch at the waist.

  • MilaXX

She looks like she needs a bra

  • Imasewsure

I really like the casual way the skirt is paired with sandals on the model. Not loving in on Olivia even though she looks gorgeous as usual

  • Rand Ortega

Some sparkle to the skirt would’ve made all the difference.

  • Anniebet

Re-purposed wetsuit does not work as a top. Neither does Italian tablecloth work as a skirt. She deserves better, IMO.

  • ashtangajunkie

I hate the skirt length, but I think she looks pretty hot.

  • msdamselfly

Wow I think she looks hot

  • Is it the light, or are her roots even more tragically grown out than mine?

  • marlie

In theory, I love this, but in practice, it fails to hit the mark. And it’s all wrong for the event.

  • Kathy

I think she looks perfectly chic, and I think it’s okay to refuse to play the hoochie game at an event like that. I’d do the same if I were her. “Fuck your male gaze, I’ll wear what *I* think is sexy.”

  • demidaemon

That skirt needs at least six inches hacked off of it. Then, maybe, she might have hit the style requirements for this event and she could have worn a full-length black shirt (or something else instead of that leather napkin she has on).

  • alyce1213

I think she chose this skirt and cropped top because she is long-waisted (self-admittedly: “my top is a tall person, bottom is a short person” or words to that effect). It elongates her bottom half, her legs, which I believe is the illusion she (and her stylist?) wanted to achieve. I think she looks fine and pretty sexy on her own terms. I’m glad she’s no longer and I hope she’s never-to-be-again blonde.

This look works on no level. Too-long skirt, superfluous bare midriff, silly top. And is that one of those bracelets made from a repurposed piece of silverware? Huh?

  • Her face is so stunning that she doesn’t have to flaunt her body. The outfit would be out of place just about anywhere because the bare midriff makes it inappropriate for business, but too conservative and stiff for much else.

  • As a general rule, I’d rather a lady struggle with the concept of “hoochie” than with the concept of “classy.”

  • I feel a better bra would have helped immensely. Get the girls up there, Olivia.
