Sixth row, middle: Is that model carrying, as an accessory, a bolt of fabric in the same pattern as his shirt?!? What is that, an invitation to anyone who mouths off about the sizing on that shirt (a little one-size-fits-all, imho) to see if they can do better?
A bold challenge because that shirt is almost an over-achieving poncho.

Yay for the short-shorts. No, not a great look on everyone, but it’s more choices for the men.
Second scroll-through reveals some really sharp pieces.

    • StellaZafella

      Maybe it’s a blanket…picnic, anyone?

      • Snailstsichr

I’d kinda like the idea of a bandana picnic blanket. it reminds me of arts and crafts in Girl Scouts.

      • j_anson

        Heh, I actually like that.

    • quiltrx

LOL I was thinking “bandanna rug”. I’m so glad that I’m not the only one who found this as the first visual stopping-point.

  • AmeliaEve

That casual wear is serving up some picnic blanket realness.

    • mila_8

      8th row: Boy Scout chic

      • drdarke

For when the Boy Scouts finally allow gays, @AmeliaEve:disqus ?

        • AmeliaEve

          Be prepared!

  • decormaven

Is that an LV Snuggie? Say it ain’t so!

  • StellaZafella

I could get away with some of the jackets. I love the color palette, Grey, English Tan and Blue…the Kerchief and Plaid motifs. I can’t wear most of it…never could, but I’d notice it walking into a room.

  • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

    Hmmmm, gray, for menswear. Innovative.

  • Beardslee

Boys playing dress up. Lots of nice clothes, though.

  • homofascist

All this plaid is hitting every one of my spots. And love the short shorts – those two looks in the second row are stellar.

  • Danielle L

Third row, first pic… those glasses are something else.

  • mjude

i usually have a hard time with a menswear collection because its so out there. but i actually like this.

  • IAmJ

I’m distracted by how very young these models look. Lots of nice pieces in this collection though.

  • editrixie

Wow, that’s a lotta white baby faces. Do any of the menswear designers ever hire people of color?

    • MilaXX

I see a few sporting the ever so popular bi-racial/light skin look

  • jhedman

I maintain that no one looks good with pants flapping around their ankles. These poor guys look like they’re heading back to school after their summer growth spurts, without having had time to shop for new suits.

  • Susan Collier

I’m pretty sure I saw some of that bandana print used for an old person’s windsuit.

  • Clueless_Jock

    I like the 50s vibe.

  • MzzPants

On the last row, my pretty-boy son exclaimed, “Ooooo, I’d be so smoooove wi’dose shooes!”

  • kipper

Jan Brady did have the exact same outfit as in pic #1 …

  • kimmeister

Holy schnikes, those bags are enormous!

I am rather digging the pewter shoes.

  • rougeort

Middle of tenth row jacket. I want. I want for myself. I want for my boyfriend. And all the neighbors. I’m starting an army!

    • Kikishua

Shirt to the right of it – my army will meet you on the field of battle 6pm sharp.

  • alyce1213

LV should stick to bags and shoes. I’ve never seen much in their clothing (some exceptions), for men or women.

  • Snailstsichr

I’m trying to look at the clothes, but inside I’m crying because somewhere a sock designer is going hungry!

    • j_anson

Socks are for children. Real men have tough skin and don’t need any cushioning between their skin and their shoes.

      • MiSo

Real mammals sweat, and the more evolved ones wear socks so as not to turn shoes into fetid slime pits.

  • MilaXX

Nice. It leans a little hipster, but I wouldn’t mind having that red varsity jacket in my own closet.

  • Louise Bryan

I’m partial to the dark tie-dye stuff, but I can’t with the smoking jacket tux.

  • j_anson

    Eh. Pretty enough.

    • Annarosa

I’m not saying that I like this collection. But it is better than what we saw around here recently (D&G, kiss my ass).

  • Anniebet

Cute boys. No clown costumes (unlike other men’s collections recently). Like the blue prints.

  • TheAmericaness

Now this is more like it! Menswear! Actual Menswear! You know with clothes that actual men from around the world all over could look at and go: well, I might not go for that weird look, but I could see myself in … this. They need separate men’s fashion shows just like they do women’s: 1. the wearable lines 2. the crazy lines that no one really expect you to watch and think you might wear except a really toned down few pieces 3. the “this is really art” a lines because if we were to actually call this “wear” we’d be making fun of you.

  • conniemd

Love the plaids on men, always have. Agree these are wearable and I wouldn’t be pointing at laughing at a guy walking down the street wearing them. What bugs me, though is seeing sweaters and jackets with bermudas and shorts. If it’s hot enough to wear shorts, you’re not walking around in a long sleeved sweater or a jacket as your only visible top.

  • TSkot

Silly as shown, but some beautiful pieces.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_QFW22QV426LUOEPGASPZJWJMDE MishaFoomin

I approve of most of the shorts. No one is swimming in them.

  • formerlyAnon

Nice clothes, mostly. Apparently aimed at preppie former frat boys who are the edgy fashion forward ones of their social group.

  • Sushy Gooroo

Apart from the light brown straitjacket, everything looks elegant and actually relatively wearable. And even seems to fit. What is wrong with them?

  • altalinda

No to the long floppy belt.

  • marlie

I really like the plaids, but I can’t see my guy wearing any of it. :(

  • PeggyOC

Bow ties are cool. Thank you, Doctor.

  • Shawn EH

The Tom Wolfe collection? Scared of those boy hotpants.

  • http://www.lippsisters.com/ Deborah Lipp

That striped coat has made me love menswear. JUST that coat. Nothing else has ever done it.

  • Kara Keenan

Hate the short shorts, hate the tan lines on the models even more.

  • Diego!

I feel it! It’s very me. Bring EVERYTHING to my wardrobe an closet. ASAP. Thank You!

  • Kimberly Wilcox

The collection seems interesting and, as always for Vuitton, even if some of the prints are a little odd/jarring. The beach blanket accessory was playful for sure, and I’m not loving the short shorts. But overall its a positive menswear collection.
