Kristin Chenoweth in Cushnie et Ochs at An Evening with Carol Burnett

Posted on July 25, 2013

We wouldn’t mind attending an evening with Carol Burnett. We’re a little jealous.

Kristin Chenoweth attends “An Evening with Carol Burnett” at the Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre in North Hollywood, California in a Cushnie et Ochs dress paired with Christian Louboutin slingback pumps.

Cushnie et Ochs Pre-Fall 2012 Collection/Model: Valerija Sestic

This is really cute. It could easily go “little girl,” especially on a tiny lady like Kristin, but the B&W really works to keep it sophisticated and grown-up. We’re not sure she needed the shoulder pads, though. We’re liking the hair, which also helps keep the look sophisticated and chic. The face seems a little overdone, though. That’s evening gown makeup, not LBD makeup. Still, she looks cute-chic.

Love the dress. Agree her face looks over made up, way to pancakey. I like her hair, generally, but it makes her forehead look really high. I’d suggest a side-part with just a wisp of hair across the forehead to break it up. I have a really high forehead myself so I’ve spent my life experimenting with ways other than booms to cover it up.

  • SpillinTea

I love her and her Klingon head veins. The dress skews “cutesie” but still grown woman fab.

  • MikeW_Vegas

    I love Kristen. I think she’s uber-talented, funny and gorgeous.. She’s such a wisp of a thing.

  • lexilexi

I think she would look great w/ bangs. (Like Eliz Moss – large forehead.)

    • Amy

      yes BANGS!!! now.

  • hughman

This is the “Went With The Wind” where Scarlett makes a LBD out of an old umbrella and dinner napkins.

  • Karen Belgrad

Thankfully she opted not to accessorize with pom-poms

  • Courtenay P

It says the pumps are Louboutin but there’s no red sole. Do they even make shoes without the red sole?

      • Aurumgirl

And what you can see of the label under her heel also says, “No.”

        • Rand Ortega

They might be Guiseppe Zanotti’s, because it looks like his signature on his shoes, but I can’t be 100% sure.

          • GorgeousThings

I’m pretty sure they are. I have a couple of pairs (thank you, Rue La La) and that’s the signature.

          • Rand Ortega

Thought so. Thanks for verifying, GT.

Love the Rue! Just got a pair of jeans that were over $100 retail. Paid $35 w/ shipping! If it weren’t for Rue, Gilt, the Outnet & Hautelook, I wouldn’t have any clothes or shoes.

  • It’s a little bit head cheerleader goes to her 30 year reunion, but I’m not mad at it.
Also, I would consider selling a child for an actual evening with Carole Burnett.

    • StellaZafella

“I’m so glad….” I’m gonna have that Earworm for the rest of the day.
Just makes you wanna tug your ear and tear up a little, dunnit?

      • Every time I file my nails while at my desk, I feel a little like Mrs. Wiggins.

  • mrspotts66

    i think she looks great!

but i have to say: that vein. i look for it in every pic of her. /wtf face.

    • Sartorial_She

Seriously? What the hell is she supposed to do about her vascular anatomy?

      • ampg

Well, she could lay off the Botox a bit, since that’s probably why it’s so prominent.

  • StellaZafella

    Dress =Great
    Shoulder pads = -1 point
    Hair = Great
    Shoes= Great

Makeup = I’d have suggested a stronger lip because her face looks somehow…slightly erased.

  • alyce1213

Adorable, great dress for her. And her hair looks really nice. Not loving the platforms, but I get why this tiny gal won’t give them up.

  • largishbearishAtlish

I wanted to not like it, but I agree- this dress, just black would have been over kill, the white, um…things lighten it up. The make up is overkill, but its an evening with Carol Burnett. wow.

-just scrolled back- holy moly does this woman have some MAJOR forehead. great- now that is the *only* thing I will see what I see her now…thanks BKs…

  • bertkeeter

    Needs the belt!

  • Anniebet

Super cute neck down. Madame Tussaud neck up.

  • Jen

I’m currently standing up in my office trying to emulate her feet in that last picture.

    • mlle

Think of a really sloppy fourth position + camera angle.

    • Celandine1

What cracks me up is that she is really standing in that pose, because if this were a magazine editorial all you would see would be posts complaining about bad photoshopping.

  • flamingoNW

Do not like the make-up at all… At first I didn’t recognize her with that haircut and with the overdone make-up

    • AOn9235

Do you think she’s had work done on her face? She somehow doesn’t look like herself.

  • Ruth Preston

Dress is cute; makeup is disturbingly burnt sienna. Also, if those are Loubs, where’s the red?

Also also, I’m right there with T and Lo and all the BKs on the Carol Burnett love. She’s one of those women who, if I chanced to meet her, I’d garble my words and just start sobbing at her awesomeness.

  • kimmeister

Can anybody tell me how “Cushnie et ochs” is actually pronounced?

She looks really cute. Does she have a plastic retainer over her teeth? They seem to have fused into one entity.

    • demidaemon

In my head I pronounce it phonetically, not as if it is in French. That’s probably incorrect, but it’s how I pronounce it.

  • Tatiana Luján

I think the dress needs the belt, the shoes are ugly, the plastic bracelet looks cheap and she’s too blonde for her skin color.

    • TLJezebel

Or maybe her make-up is not right for her hair color?

      • Tatiana Luján

Maybe her makeup isn’t right, I don’t know, but the combination of that skin tone with the yellow hair makes her look like a barbie doll and not in a good way.

        • TLJezebel

          Yep, it’s just off.

  • Louise Bryan

I think she looks pretty darn great here. If you didn’t know she is 4’11”, you wouldn’t guess it from this outfit. And she’s from the south; everyone wears too much makeup down there.

  • NOLA_gal

I like the idea of the dress, but not sure about the execution. The black fabric looks cheap and the white fabric looks weird. It fits her beautifully though…

  • Rand Ortega

Very lovely. A little pop of color wouldn’t have killed her, though.

  • MilaXX

This is really subdued for her. If she blended out that highlight on her eyes a bit more, it would be a home run for me.

  • appliquer

Look beautiful – agree on the makeup. I think it would be better with a belt.

  • MannahattaMamma

    Hmm. If funerals had cheerleaders….

  • snarkykitten

I dunno, it looks like what a goth would wear to a tennis tournament

  • kirkyo

I’ve noticed I tend to react positively when someone appears to be loving what they’re wearing. This is one of those. She’s loving it and I’m right there with her.

  • PhillyDeb

Re: makeup. I was actually thinking that I was happy she had lightened up her eyes a little–they are usually so dark and harsh. I’m not sure that the entire mask-like look is due to the makeup however…she looks a little, um, “tight”–different somehow. It’s distracting me. But the dress and shoes are great

  • marlie

The dress is just fine, but I’m SO glad she got rid of the hair extensions. This haircut/style is so much more flattering, and less aging on her.

    • filmcricket

Agreed on the hair. I always thought the bob she had in S1 of Pushing Daisies was perfect for her.

Love the dress though. I want it for my own self.

  • e jerry powell

She needs to hop in my pocket and be my little Broadway toy.

  • colleenjanel

She is absolutely the ONLY person I don’t mind the horse hoove shoes on. When you’re that tee-tiny, you get a pass.

  • kim bunchalastnames

love. but i wish she’d kept the belt.

  • uck. all she needs is a pair of pom-poms.

  • GorgeousThings

    A little less Botox please!

  • Jaeda Laurez

Her fo-head is stretched tighter than a Mariah Carey dress, but I love her anyway. She’s awesome, the outfit is cute, and I love that bracelet..

  • It lost something without the belt. Wish she had kept that.

  • DeTrop

Another one you need a caption to know who they are. Where is the adorable KC we’ve come to love? Too much forehead and Botox. Takes away from anything she’s wearing. Boo!

  • I didn’t think I would ever say this about anyone, but bangs would suit her nicely.
    That dress is adorable.

  • Tanya Wade

The best her hair has looked in a while. Very Kylie in styling. I like!

  • eandh99

bangs would be her fiend, but the dress is cute. if you want an evening with Carol Burnett, hunt up “Putting it Tigether”. which is a filmed live performance of a Sondheim reviue starring Carol, George Hearn, Ruthie Henshall, and John Barrowman. Make sure you watch the bloopers

    • Jaeda Laurez

      Must remember this.

  • Sunshine16

I went to an evening with Carol Burnett a couple months ago, definitely worth seeing! I didn’t look as cute KC, though

  • stubbornthoughts

I love her hair! I hope she embraces this length for a while.

  • Kathy_Marlow

    The bracelet…I need it…really.

  • Randy Noak

I’m not sure I’m on board with the hair. It’s kind of aging on her, almost taking her into Ellen Barkin territory.

  • I like everything about the look.

  • Ben Smith

She’s looking very refreshed, shall we say. The hair is cute on her though.

  • kimiakay

The dress, yes. The makeup, no way. But I cannot get over that bracelet. It is awful. I can’t tell if she is wearing earrings, but if that bracelet is the only jewelry she’s wearing, then bad choice, Kristin. I’m not sold on the hair, either. It needs something.

  • H2olovngrl

I love this- Total win for me.
