Florence Welch in Dolce&Gabbana at the Glastonbury Festival

Posted on July 02, 2013

We really only have one thing to say to Flo here:

Florence Welch at the Glastonbury Festival at Worthy Farm in Glastonbury, England in Dolce&Gabbana.

Don’t go getting horseshit on your nice Dolce & Gabbana dress, girl. Be careful where you sit and step.

That is our only advice, because you NAILED this one, hon, You look fantastic. Love it, top to bottom.

Amazing. I love the use of the scarf print fabric in this dress, so cool. She looks great.

  • crash1212

Love the look Flo…well done indeed. Now, perhaps you’d ask your companion who attacked her little red riding hood?

  • AmandaCathleen

    She’s never looked better. Perfect.

  • Lori

I thought that the one thing was going to be, “Brush your hair.” Apparently it’s true that at some point we all become our mother, one way or another.

Props to her for wearing an actual dress though (which is pretty great in a very Flo way) unlike her companion who is wearing a slip and what was left of Red Riding Hood’s cape after the wolf caught up with her.

    • Qitkat

lol. That’s what this mom thought too. Love the dress on Flo. Perfect description of her companion, who also walked through the mud puddles instead of around them as Flo did. And I like her cape, it’s goofy and fun.

    • gabbilevy

Eh, summer festival in England. If there’s ever a place for flyaways (or at least getting away with them) it’s probably here.

      • siriuslover

thanks. I was going to write the same thing.

    • barbarienne

Those were my exact thoughts (re Flo’s hair) as well.

I like the cut, though. I’m going to assume her hair is all stringy because it got damp in the rain. There is no product that will make hair stand up to rain, except maybe plaster or cement.

  • VERY nice!

So…festival stank boot is on both sides of the pond?

    • formerlyAnon

To be fair, Glastonbury is known for weather requiring attendees to wear knee-high waterproof boots because of rain. Mud. Yuck. Also, often, sweaters, anoraks, jackets. It’s England.

  • Coolekat

    Love the bag.

  • Buffy

    I love everything about this

  • Introspective

    ATTA GIRL!!!

definitely a personal best. cant say that Ive loved any outfit of hers more than this one…

  • formerlyAnon

So happy! Saw this elsewhere, thought she looked great, wondered what you guys would think. Maybe I’m learning something!

(What? It’s NOT all about me? I think you might be mistaken.)

  • Jennifer Peters-Ahnberg

She looks great, but like herself, which is fantastic. Go Flo!

  • PeaceBang

Love this. I want to say, “Now, was that SO HARD?”

  • TheAmericaness

    This is HER!

  • ballerinawithagun

Love it but could have been whipped up by me and lots of other Etsy people.

  • random_poster

    Perfection. Go Flo!!

  • rougeort

She looks lightyears better than she usually does (and than her friend in the shredded jacket… Oh my)

  • kirkyo

Is her friend in waders? Looks like they were put to good use. Anyway, I like the unfussiness of the look but the glasses kind of bug.

    • It’s Glastonbury! I am disappointed with Flo for NOT wearing wellies. And I think wearing heels is insane – the mud is legendary.

  • ccinnc

Looooove those boots. And the dress, but esp. the boots.

  • neonseattle

one of the least douchebaggy festival looks i’ve seen

  • prettybigkitty

OMG. I need to take a few deep breaths. I LOVE this look. Actually, I covet this look and wish I could afford to buy every piece.

  • alyce1213

Finally! I love something that Flo is wearing. She looks smashing.

  • R.A.

I thought the 1 thing was going to be stankboot.

  • silaria

Hah, the ONLY thing I know about the Glastonbury Festival is that it’s muddy, due to a brief interview by David Tennant at one in years past. (Look for it on YouTube, his Scottish accent is adorable!) That said, I actually appreciate Ms. Welch’s friend’s outfit more. She went for practicality. And a cool shredded hoodie thing.

  • swiss_miss

Love it! It fits her & the location perfectly. The only quibble I have, while the boots look great, I think maybe wellies would be more practical and, I think would still look good. But of course also depends on how long she wants to stay.

  • DominoEstella

    Love it!

  • lrober03

I wish that seam wasn’t there, but I love this dress

  • Maryanne525

Her friend, on the other hand? The pornographic version of Little Red Riding Hood.

    • really. A black slip, a studded, slashed red hoodie and rubber knee high boots?
      What is the message here?

      • demidaemon

I’m looking for a hungry wolf. I’ll let you figure out exactly what that euphemism stands for. ๐Ÿ˜‰

      • formerlyAnon

I’m at a semi-hippie, in parts ravey, in parts folkie, expensive multi-day music festival! Where it will be at least drizzly and chilly (if not rainy and cold) for some portion of my visit. And I WILL be photographed because I’m walking around with Florence Welch!

      • Rhonda Shore

The message here is that it’s a muddy rock and roll festival where people have to use port-o-sans. The rubber boots are entirely appropriate! Flo really looks fabulous, perfect for the event.

    • Little_Olive

Little Red Riding Hood: The years after the Wolf: an unauthorized biography.

  • joanna dash

She looks like a giant package of incense.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

  • lizajane1776

    Arms! She has arms!
(And look at her perfect skin! From all those sleeves, no doubt.)

  • Gloriana Reginata

She went to Glastonbury in high-heeled boots.

Let me die of laughter right now.

    • She must have staff to pull her out when her heels get bogged.

  • MilaXX

Nice to see her dressing her age for a change. Really cute dress.

  • quiltrx

    Very ‘her’ and very awesome!

  • marlie

LOVE. She looks effortlessly boho chic.

  • siriuslover

I was bored this evening and went prowling my daily sites to see if there was anything I missed. I’ve avoided this link on TLO’s site because FL always looks the same. I was prepping to write: “no. just no.” And lo and behold, I discover that Florence Welch has ARMS! Real live arms!

  • carnush

She looks awesome but it makes me anxious that she’ll get mud all over those gorgeous boots! Looks at her friend’s wellies!

  • GillianHolroyd

Too funny. You can buy a “100% silk!” version of this in any Bangkok market for the past 2-3 years so it screams cheap to me.

    • CakesOnAPlane

In that case, I’ll be looking up tickets to Bangkok, if you need me.

  • Danielle L

GOD I want a pair of Hunter rain boots.

  • Patrick Cleary

    Her friend’s hoodie is awesome.

  • Vitantonio Bino D’Ambrosio

    Oh c’mon guys, really?
I understand you fascination with Flo, really, I do. But this?
That’s what D&G passes as “fashion” lately? Bad imitation Versace scarfs barely and badly stitched together?
And you’re all fawning over this?
I would condone it if they would pay taxes with the money they make selling s**t to rich people, but they don’t even do that, so, NO. Sorry but NO.

  • Vitantonio Bino D’Ambrosio

    Oh, well.
I guess you didn’t like my comment. That’s good to know.

    • Because it was outrageously obnoxious.

      • Vitantonio Bino D’Ambrosio

Was it? I thought that was the standard here.
That’s another good thing to know.

        • Look, disagreement is fine here. But if all you’re going to say is, “REALLY, guys? REALLY? I know you’re in love with her and all, but REALLY?” then you’re just being obnoxious – and your focus is on us instead of on the subject of the post. Go ahead and critique the outfit; we want people to do that here.

          • Vitantonio Bino D’Ambrosio

Well, that wasn’t all there was to the comment, was it?
Was “is this what D&G pass as fashion? Bad imitation Versace scarfes barely and badly stitched together” or “I would condone it if D&G would pay taxes on the money they make selling s**t to rich people, but they don’t even do that” focus on you? I don’t think so.
It is your blog, and I agree it’s safe to assume that every comment might be about you, but in this case I was expressing my surprise especially to the general consensus on this. And you.
I’m sure you guys would have ripped it to shreds had it walked on the runway of PR. That was my point.

          • Vitantonio Bino D’Ambrosio

btw, there was no all caps “really” in my original message, just a couple of all caps “no” and one “sorry” ๐Ÿ˜€

  • Angela_the_Librarian

That’s a lovely summery dress. I also love her friend that apparently just rolled out of bed in her negligee, put on a pair of waders and was ready to go!

  • The picture next to ‘cool chic’ in the dictionary.

  • Not applicable

exactly! so cool, chic and yet rockstar!

  • Lucas

I love this lady. I love her weird, eccentric looks and that she has no fear of taking high fashion risks. Even when she misses, it still manages to be somehow striking. But I gotta agree, she nailed this one!

  • kategs

Love the dress but to me the boots and bag are way too heavy. The balance is off

  • Anniebet

YAY! I was so hoping TLo would feature this. She is making my spidey sense tingle, in a very good way. Divine look for her. I heart that dress with a red hot passion. And don’t we all want super cool boots the exact same color as our hair?

  • LaSylphide

I understand the boots, given the location, but not with that fantastic, fabulous dress. And I DON’T understand the dress, given the location. The woman in the background in cutoffs looks a little more venue-appropriate.

    • hac51

If anything, I think wearing thousands of dollars’ worth of clothes and shoes to the mudfest that is Glasto is super obnoxious. “Oh, this old thing?”

  • Sagecreek

Except for the fact that I had that purse in 7th grade, I agree with the plaudits.

  • librarygrrl64

I love everything about this and will be trying to recreate it on the cheap. ๐Ÿ˜‰
