Emily Blunt in Wes Gordon at Comic-Con 2013

Posted on July 22, 2013

Emily Blunt at the Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures ” edge of Tomorrow” preview during the 2013 at San Diego Convention in a Wes Gordon dress paired with Rupert Sanderson sandals.

Rupert Sanderson Floria High Heel Sandal

Bright, bold and colorful. Now THAT is the T Lo way! At least for Comic-Con. In fact, we’d probably not like those shoes anywhere else but a Comic-Con stage; especially paired with that dress. But we care not at the moment, because this manages the trick of being both chic, and comicbook-POW fun at the same time. In a venue where people are dressed like aliens, wizards and time machines, a star needs to do what she has to to stand out. If that means goofy pink shoes, then by God, wear them with pride, girl.

Seriously, she looks great.

oh my god those shoes are FEROCIOUS.

  • hughman

I want those shoes to emit little action bubbles saying BLAM! and POW! everywhere she walks.

    • That is of course, when her frock is not doing exactly the same thing. LOL
      Whomp! Splat!

    • StellaZafella

I saw the zipper in the heel and said, “ZZZZzzzzzZZZZZZZZiPPP!” I want these shoes so bad my feet hurt.
I’ll even take ’em in pink…if RED ain’t available.

  • It really is a perfect dress for the venue, considering that it has the same kind of graphic intensity as a graphic novel.

    • Glammie

Yep, that’s what I love about it, too–it could work on the page or in an anime.

  • Introspective

    girl looks good!!

this dress is hugging all her curves. the colors and design really agree with her skin tone and make her eyes pop! first time ive liked the blond on her too.

    love this!

  • clatie

We are liking this? I can’t co-sign. Sorry. Shoes are great, though.

  • Little_Olive

The fierceness of those shoes make her the only Brit worth any attention on this royal occasion.

But she needs to go back to dark(er) hair.

  • Tatiana Luján

I like the shoes and the dress, but not together, too matchy – matchy.
    Gorgeous woman.

  • I love her. And I worry that she has a little sad in her eyes. I know that’s not a fashion critique, but that’s just the impression I’m being left with. That and Hellooooo Bangin’ Booty,

    • StellaZafella

Ms Blunt has always had what I call ‘quiet eyes’…it makes me see her as more a sloe-eyed vamp.

  • filmcricket

Stumpifying. And the shoes don’t go, although they are awesome in their own right.

    That booty!!!

  • MilaXX

I like the dress and I like the style/shape of the shoe, but the dueling pinks in the dress & shoe are making my eyes twitch.

  • decormaven

Graphic detail, punches of color, body-con design– ding, ding, ding! We have a winner for Comic-Con styling.

  • Calinda_L

I thought she looked a tad frumpy in the first picture (it looked a little boxy and a tad too long) and then scrolled down. Chic and comicbook-POW fun is exactly right. She looks amazing!

  • alyce1213

Love huh, love the dress, and I’m mad about the shoes.

  • Beth513

LOVE this. I would totally wear this and I’d cut a bitch for those shoes.

    • YourBaloneyDontGotNoSecondName

It looks like you could cut a bitch *with* those shoes — they are that fierce.

  • Shawn EH

Can’t fault the look, but I prefer her with darker hair. She’s an auburn girl to me.

    • OrigamiRose

This. She’s so stunning with that red hair in The Devil Wears Prada.

  • Anniebet

This woman is NOT a blonde. Why does she insist she is?

    • Jaeda Laurez

      Exactly. I don’t get it.

  • Pennymac

The shoes don’t match, but they do rhyme!

  • Qitkat

I love the dress colors, but I think it would be even cuter if it were a tad shorter and had a flippy little ruffle (about 6 inches deep) all around the hem. In the first photo I though the shoes were red, and said noooo, but the bright pink and sassy half hole punch design is perfect.

  • bayusc

Has comic-con ever been about, ehhhh, comics?

  • Just Me

I must say that she is working that dress like the rent is due! Bring it, girl…making those fanboys swoon.

  • Celeste

    J’adore those shoes!!!

  • maggiemaybe

Love the dress, the hair and the makeup but I don’t think I can get on board with the shoes. They’re a little too cray cray for me. Perhaps with a simpler dress? I just don’t know…

  • msdamselfly

Her hair is so boring though

  • quiltrx

LOVE the dress! Pretty and bright (and looks like the Jennifer Paganelli quilting fabrics I collect).
And those shoes are TOTALLY “Poison Ivy” so I’m feeling them for the venue!

  • thecitysleeps

Meh, boring old dresses even with colour are so boring and too formal for Comic Con. I quite prefer a get up like Karen Gillan’s with a cute casual top and shorts…or at least something resembling nerd chic. Pass.

  • NYCGlamourpuss

PERFECT! Right dress, right shoes, right venue – well done!

  • marlie

Love the dress, but the shoes are all wrong with it.

  • guest2visits

Just love these shoes on her, and with this dress. I wish for a change (and for the event) she had braid or ponytail or something fun.
