Catherine Zeta-Jones and Lee Byung Hun for ELLE Korea

Posted on July 25, 2013

CZJ and LBH are TDF.

“Red2″ co-stars Catherine Zeta-Jones and Lee Byung Hun cover the August 2013 issue of ELLE Korea magazine.

Louis Vuitton Fall 2013 Collection/Model: Shu Pei Qin (NEXT)

Louis Vuitton Fall 2013 Collection/Model: Daria Strokous (WOMEN)

She looks fabulous. We still maintain that she should seriously consider a radical hair re-think to freshen up and youthen her look, but the styling here is doing the job for her. Love her makeup on the cover.

He is there to make your pants move. He is also doing the job.

Oh, my, I need my fan….he is beautiful.

      • jtabz

… and serving up serious face in that second picture. (Fans self.)

        • Kikishua

Except, the placement of his hands is more “no! I will NOT touch you!” – just fingertips!

      • Funkykatt

He’s a great actor too…as if that matters. Swoon.

    • Kiltdntiltd

Gorgeous shoot, no matter how uncanny valley they both look.

      • drdarke

Yeah, @kiltdntiltd:disqus – are we sure this isn’t an Adobe Illustrator image “inspired” by a photo of these two?

Sorry – been sick the last few days, and just catching up now.

    • Karen Belgrad

They look beautiful, but the excessive photoshopping on the cover photo is giving me Polar Express flashbacks!

      • Gwyndall

She almost looks Asian on the cover… maybe that’s what they were going for?

    • SarahVN

I simply am unable to deal with BYL. Simply unable.

    • PlethoraofBooks

You know, Red 2 was pretty funny! I enjoyed it more than I was expecting… Mostly because I enjoyed him, and I liked seeing Catherine in a comedic role again.

Oh and yes, he is making the pants move…

    • MilaXX

He wins. BK’s if you love a good muscled back, go see REDS2, …. cause dayum!
CZJ should have a good sit down chat with the Elle Korea stylist. This is the best she has looked in a long time.

    • annabelle archer

This pains me. It’s a bit of a Monet. The *idea* is certainly there, but if you look for more than a moment, it all falls apart.
The excessive photoshopping, the lack of tension and connection in their touch. I am a river of sadness for what should have been.

      • Sweetvegan

He’s *almost* got his hands on her waist in that second photo. It’s like he’s afraid to touch her. But at first glance, the photo is gorgeous. The first photo is definitely gorgeous.

        • Cz

I like the almost touching. It’s kinda hot.

          • venusvelvet

It would be hotter if he were looking back at her.

            • demidaemon

Naw, I prefer him to just look at me. It makes it easier to pretend he isn’t there.

    • Vanessa

I don’t understand dresses that don’t continue around the entire body (collar on the second dress). Are we not three dimensional?

      • bertkeeter

I think it’s some intelectual attempt to be different, edgy, creative. Does not quite make it!

      • kimmeister

I guess they ran out of squirrel tail (or whatever that is!).

      • Monabel

Always looks cheap and half assed when the decoration stops in back.

      • Sweetvegan

On the model, it looks like it goes all the way around. The CZJ’s dress is different.

      • Gwyndall

They couldn’t pull her hair over a little to hide that??

    • SusiePamudji

Lee Byung Hun is such a hunk. He hasn’t aged in the last ten years.

    • Jessica Freeman

Lee is what makes the cover worth looking at. Hello!

    • Meg0GayGuys6

Elle Korea: “Hey InStyle, wanna see how the Louis Vuitton top is supposed to look?”

Granted, you can’t really see the top, but in my head, that’s what went down.

    • Heather

Wow. That’s CZJ? I thought it was Katie Holmes meshed with Ashley Judd stuck on someone else’s body. Way too much Photoshopping for my taste.

      • berkeleygirl

Second that… When you see recent pictures of her, it’s saddens me to think how much they altered her appearance. Everyone involved – including Mrs. Zeta-Douglas – should be given pictures of Helen Mirren and Robin Wright. Especially the latter in this case, as she’s allegedly 3 years older than CZJ, does not appear to have had any work done, and looks more gorgeous than ever.

        • YoungSally

I guess I am okay with this photoshopping because that last red carpet appearance for her was really odd for me.

      • SylviaFowler

Yeah, I don’t know about “fabulous”. She looks like someone who is NOT Catherine Zeta Jones.

      • DilettanteDeconstructed

Yep. And what happened to her nose in the third picture down?

    • Jennifer Peters-Ahnberg

Classic CZJ. He is absolutely delicious. I commend her self-restraint, because were it me, I’d be fondling his butt in every. damn. shot.

    • Emily Smith

      He is fiiiiiine.

    • ckokopuff

See where his hands are in the second shot? That’s really where her actual body contours are.

      • Tess Danesi

Wow, now that you pointed that out, I can’t look away. It’s just so weird.

      • Rand Ortega

Dayum. What the hell is wrong w/ this world when 2 people this gorgeous need to be touched up to that extent? ANY extent. SMHIUD.

    • putacorkinit

What’s she done to her nose? Either the surgeon or the photoshopper have turned her into Nicole Kidman.

    • Ceur

I want to adopt their babies.

    • Judy_S

Same dress as in the Olivia Wilde editorial. I would say Olivia gets points for looking less photoshopped and CZJ for better accessory.

    • BP180

      But are they DTF?

    • AshBookworm

He’s yummy! She looks pretty good too.

    • clairellis

Oh my my my, he just made my panties more than move. I think they just fell right off.

    • Ruth Preston

Blah blah pretty clothes blah OH MY GOD HIS HANDS ARE MAKING MY HEART BEAT FASTER.

    • ‘Becca’lise Deveaux

      He is SO SEXY, wow!

    • queen b*tch

He looks great. She looks plastic I’m afraid. Shame.

    • flamingoNW

Airbrushed much? Hmm. She looks 20 years old.

    • KateShouldBeWorking

I didn’t notice the photoshopping because my ovaries were too busy exploding. Ima need a cigarette.

    • Tanya Wade

I’ve seen that Vuitton dress too much. In other news, he is prettier than she is. And I mean that in the BEST possible way. Dayum.

    • Rand Ortega

Good Lord. He’s addictive. Several more helpings my favorite Korean dish, please.

    • ErmengardeGreen

She is making that LV sing like it’s never sung before.

    • Diego!

Gorgeous! Miss Cat is rocking the sh*t in this editorial!

    • Gaby

Love the blue tuxedo jacket he’s wearing.

    • Shawn EH

The second picture is hot, the best I’ve seen her in ages. He made my pants move in the movie, for sure, and he had much better hair. He’s over-thinking these photo-shoots.

    • cowper

Smoking. Sizzling. Too bad we can’t make this happen.

    • Patrick Cleary

He is gorgeous, and I love me a sparkly blue tux.

    • kimmeister

He does have exquisite bone structure, doesn’t he?

    • LuisaNL

I guess some photoshop is unavoidable but seriously, what is up with CZJ’s face in that first pic??

    • mariahwg

I’m telling you guys, you need to get up on the Korean boystar love. There is some SOMETHING in the water over there. You need some suggestions?: Seo In Guk, Kim Soo Hyun, Sung Joon, Lee Min Ho, more Seo In Guk (OK, I’m totally his noona). It’s all cheekbones and fabulous clothes and lips for days. To watch? I could watch Reply 1997 every day. There’s a really charming bromance between the male lead and his gay best friend.

      • NoveltyRocker

And HAIR, they really know how to style the boystar hair.

        • mariahwg

:) I didn’t care for You’re Beautiful as a story, but I ended up watching the entire thing, just for the outfits and hair. And, you know, Jang Geun Suk. Embarassing. :)

      • pookiesmom

SO excited to find another kdrama fan on here! Hyun Bin, Gong Yoo!? Lee Jin Freaking Wook?!? OMG. Korean stars! The pretty is faint-worthy!

        • mariahwg

Oh and the fanservice. Another completely needless pretty boy taking a shower? Yes please.

I’ve actually never seen Lee Jin Wook in a drama, only seen the (sometimes really funny but kind of charming and def. pretty) fashion spreads. Any suggestions?

I like Hyun Bin, but he doesn’t move me that way. I think he’s funny, I like his skewering of the whole pretty-cold-Chaibol drama thing. On the other hand Gong Yoo! Yes! Did you see his cameo in Cyrano? Too short, but adorable. He’s not physically my type, but something about his personality is so warm and delicious.

          • pookiesmom

YES to the egregious shower scenes. I’m relatively new to kdramas and I think I missed the dramas about musicians, aside from You’re Beautiful (which in spite of the hype, I just couldn’t get into). Any suggestions?

It’s funny, I feel the same way about Lee Min Ho as you do about Hyun Bin. He’s a good actor, but I just don’t find him drool-worthy. Also, I totally agree about Gong Yoo. Didn’t see his cameo yet (I love Jung Yumi too, so that should be a slam dunk). I saw pictures of him before I watched him in Coffee Prince and just didn’t understand the appeal, until…I watched Coffee Prince and fell head over heels. He is just exquisite in that. And by “exquisite,” I mean equal parts hot and talented. And charisma!

I’ve only seen Lee Jin Wook in I Need Romance 2012, which I actually lost interest in about halfway through, but GOOD LORD is he hot in that. Like, fanning yourself in a Southern church hot. You know how kdramas usually have super tame, vaguely unpleasant kisses? Let’s just say that’s a myth this drama dispenses with in the opening scene. Do yourself a favor and watch the first 10 minutes. You won’t regret it. I lack words for how hot this man is. I’ve heard he’s good in Nine too, just haven’t had the time to watch that one.

            • mariahwg

Thank you. It’s now in my queue. :)

You’re Beautiful was the first kdrama I watched, and while I def. thought it was lacking in almost every way, I fell completely for the silly fashion and awesome hair. So the first few kdramas I watched, I was all, I want pretty boys in pretty clothes. I’ve since moved on to actually watching for content.

It’s so funny what you say about those kisses. YES. There’s SO MUCH HEAT, and then the OTP like, ugh-i-cant-believe-im-doing-this kisses. it’s super weird. I was only so-so in general on Flower Boy Ramen Shop (mainly because the actor who plays Cha Chi Soo is really Not My Thing) and also Oh My God Second Lead Syndrome), but it’s one of the few dramas where you really buy the kissing. Which, again, weird, because I’m way not into that actor.

I’m relatively new to kdramas as well, and while I’ve watched the first ep of a bunch of dramas from before… 2008 or 2009, I find I like the more recent ones a lot more. And I really don’t get historicals and weekend dramas. I tend toward cult and cable dramas and “trendy” dramas. So, the entire “flower boy” series (which, god, i love kdramas just for flower boys), Reply 1997 (seriously! if you haven’t already, I HIGHLY recommend), The woman who wanted to marry (terrible title, great little feminist drama),Alice in Cheongdamdong (I think one of my favorite characters in this was also in I need Romance, and Park Shi Hoo is sort of another Gong Yoo type), City Hunter (lee min ho’s best drama IMO) … I’m watching I hear your voice right now, which is pretty good, and Monstar, somewhat good, and I just finished Cyrano Dating Agency, which should have been better but had a some really great moments. I also just finished Nail shop paris, which was ultra-terrible, but the male leads were so pretty, I just couldn’t not.

I feel you about Lee Min Ho. He’s been in some crappy shows. I like big noses though. So you know. :)

    • Tracy Walker

That’s not make-up on the cover – it’s pure Photoshop genericizer. She’s a beautiful woman *with* her lines – I refuse to accept this plastic 2nd-rate version. Pbft.

    • CT14

That’s Catherine Zeta Jones? She’s unrecognizable.

Heck, she’s barely human in that computer recreation of a picture.

    • kingderella

im just happy an asian man is portrayed as desirable and sexual for once.

      • kimmeister

And doesn’t have to bust out martial arts moves to prove anything!

    • Carly Warnock

Literally was just telling the boyfriend the other day how damn sexy I find LBH. Sigh.

    • Pudgy Possum

    • Anne At Large

      That second photo is stunning.

The cover though, I am just stunned by the awful Photoshop.

    • NoveltyRocker

I can see why she’s attached to the long hair when it looks so gorgeous in photos like these. But that’s what wigs are for!

    • mmebam

Is he supposed to look like a deer in headlights in the second cover?

    • lilyvonschtupp

Sex on a stick. How hot are they?????

    • Anniebet

Aww, isn’t it nice they’re given matching skin tones in the first cover and how much they glow? Oh never mind, she’s lovely and damn, so is he.

    • Lily-Rygh

      I can’t tell which one is prettier…

    • JauntyJohn

Smoldering glamor, the both of them.

At the same time… she is starting to look like a Catherine Zeta-Jones impersonator, rather than like she, herself, the genuine article Catherine Z-J.

    • Rachael

Holy Photoshop! I didn’t even recognize her!!

    • Sunraya

She doesn’t even look like herself anymore. The young woman on the cover looks nice, even though I cannot believe it is CZJ.

    • sekushinonyanko

Who is that again? I know what CZJ looks like recently. I saw Rock of Ages. And it’s not like that lady on the cover.

    • quiltrx

If she’s getting rid of the hair at some point, I’ll gladly take it! (and I agree she needs a change)
And I will take ANYTHING he is offering.

    • ShaoLinKitten

CZJ was unrecognizable when I saw her in Side Effects, and she continues to look like someone else. He is hot, though. I Googled him after TLo mentioned him last time. WOW. That suit is obscuring his greatest charms, though his face is quite dreamy.

    • Cautia

OK, i doubt anyone around here cares about my glee fangirling, but all I can see is Blaine’s parents

    • Jaeda Laurez

He and Helen Mirren were the only redeemable things about that movie. And he looks great here. Why does Vogue Korea get it right so often? Whoever is over there is doing the Lord’s work.

    • jjfg

Oh my. She is – unnecessary.

    • demidaemon

He is everything. Sorry, CZJ, but I’m going to crop you out.

    • boweryboy

He’s too pretty to make my pants move, but she looks fabulous. I agree about the hair thing. Time to shakes things up a bit gurl.
