Bryan Cranston Honored with a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Posted on July 19, 2013

Everything about these pictures is so ridiculously charming that we completely forgot how silly and fake these events really are.

“Breaking Bad” star Bryan Cranston honored with a star on the on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

But adorable, right? Nice to see a good-looking, distinguished, talented mature man have such fun with his success.

We cannot, however, ignore the execrable hem job on those pants.

It’s so weird to see him like this when I’m used to seeing him as Walter White.

He does seem like a lovely man though.

    • MoHub

I’m getting Malcolm in the Middle flashbacks.

      • majorbedhead

Me, too and I’m just fine with that.

  • Unf. I have the biggest crush on Aaron Paul and their bromance is adorable to me. Who knew Hal from Malcolm in the Middle would end up being such a complete badass? So excited for the show to come back next month!

    • Vaniljekjeks

Aaron Paul is stunning. That’s all I’m here to say.

      • Orange Girl

        Seriously. Super babe.

  • Jacqueline Wessel

These are some of the best walk-of-fame pictures I have seen. Nice to see someone having so much fun with it.

    • zenobar

      That side plank is majestic.

  • Catiline

Still blows my mind that he played Tim Whatley on Seinfeld. I enjoy spotting “Hey it’s that guy” actors, but it didn’t even remotely register as the same person.

  • Uncles, are you mad at us? Have we been bad Kittens? Where are the Hawt Men? Yes, he is delightful, etc, but for real, where are the beefy but dumb ones? The ones we want to climb like mountains and undress with our teeth? Why has The Sausage forsaken us?

    • Sausage Friday is the one day we pay more attention to male celebrities than female ones. Sorry you’re not getting enough material for your spank bank, but we think you might have the wrong idea about what we’re doing here.

      • LOL – Oh, no worries, I’m just frisky today. I’m not looking forward to an 8 hour road trip and am projecting my goofiness here.

      • Lucía Gavello

Oh Cranston can make a withdrawal from my spank bank any day of the week, thankyouverymuch.

      • misstressofsylar

you can post pics of these 2 all day long and I’d have no prob getting spank materials
these 2 are hot hot hot!!

      • Kristin McNamara

I actually always thought that Sausage Friday was all about the hunka-hunka-burnin-love types too. I mean, was it ever formally defined or anything? I’m sure Ms. Annabelle was just going by precedent.

    • Catiline

I don’t feel remotely punished by DILF Cranston pics, personally.

Cannot wait for Breaking Bad to return

    • So many people have told me that this show is a must watch, but I just haven’t been able to bring myself to do it. Justified and Sons of Anarchy are all the bad men you shouldn’t love but do anyway I can take in my life.

      • Emily Giovanni

Actually Breaking Bad pushes you way past the point where you love his character at all. The interesting point is how far you are in the show before you get there. That’s different from Sons of Anarchy where they take you to the edge and then pull you back and remind you that you DO love Jax despite the fact that you really shouldn’t.

        • filmcricket

I think part of my problem with Breaking Bad is that it was episode 3 where I didn’t love him anymore. Of the first season. I *always* thought the character was an asshole, so it was hard to care that much about what happened to him.

          • Emily Giovanni

Yeah me too. I was definitely on the Walter-is-an-irredeemable-villain train pretty early on. But there are other characters around him who I DO care about. And what he does affects them so very much. (P.S. I didn’t get past the second or third episode on my first Breaking Bad attempt because of the level of horrifying stuff that happens. But actually that’s about as bad as it gets, excepting one equally horrifying scene in Season 4).

      • MilaXX

Breaking Bad is closer to The Wire in terms of darkness even if a lot of the plots seem improbable.

        • enuma

I once saw a guy who was about to trip over a power cord, so I said “Watch the wire,” and then muscle memory made me also recommend Breaking Bad.

          • Wendi126

That has amused me to no end. Love both

        • muzan-e

Amen. In fact, I only ever watched The Wire because a friend swore to me that if I loved Breaking Bad, then The Wire would consume me whole – and my god, did it ever.

          Excellent writing transcends genre.

      • venusvelvet

Justified is the show that keeps giving – Raylan, Boyd, Tim and all the villains are my hands-down favorites. Haven’t seen SoA yet, and love Bryan Cranston, but Breaking Bad was too stressful for me to watch.

        • filmcricket

Yeah, I gave up on Breaking Bad early in S2. Just too damn bleak. I adore Cranston and maybe I’ll return to it someday, but I just couldn’t take it.

Justified, on the other hand, is indeed a gift that keeps on giving.

          • Catiline

Oh wow, so it’s not just me. I gave up in late S2/early S3 (can’t remember as I was Netflixing it). I keep thinking I’ll go back because I want to know what happens to Hank, but the Walter-Skylar relationship is REALLY hard to sit through. I commend the actors and writers for pulling no punches, but man, I can’t deal with it.

        • Walton Scoggins has the most hilarious guest spot on SoA (season 5) that I have ever seen. I love him dearly.

          • venusvelvet

I was just going to say he’ll always be Cletus Van Damme to me, when I looked that up. Now I’m going to have to watch that show!

        • mshesterp

That’s why I can’t watch BB, no matter how much people go on about how amazing it is (and I believe them) and how much I love Bryan Cranston. I just feel like it will completely stress me out and I just don’t need that. And yet…I keep feeling a pull. Maybe just the first few episodes…

  • frannyprof

Agree. Love it. And he is a funny, funny man! Ever see him on SNL or Stewart it Colbert?

  • kbshee

If Clint Eastwood and Conan O’Brien had a baby–or something like that–

    • Lady Orwellian

OMG!!! I want to go to that baby shower SO bad!

  • MoHub

My love for Cranston knows no bounds.

  • imspinningaround

Bryan Cranston is a DILF par excellence. Look at this guy, showing off a Yoga Journal-perfect side plank.

  • stubbornthoughts

If I needed a celebrity relative (which I’m totally in the market for, btw), I’d pick Bryan Cranston. He just seems like the perfect guy for the job. Him and Fred Willard (who already reminds me of my dad). Bring on the fuckin’ holidays, ya’ll.

    • Kimbolina

Hah, yes! One of my friends and I have a running list of celebrities (as well as fictional characters) that we think would be the best uncles. May be time to add to the list!

    • sweetlilvoice

Love Fred Willard, loves that he has a minor role on Modern Family as Phil’s dad. So fitting.

  • AmandaCathleen

Love these two! Nice to see people actually having fun at one of these silly events.

    Only 24 more days…!

  • majorbedhead

God, he’s goofy, in a totally adorable way.

Shit, I’m going to have to start watching Breaking Bad now, aren’t I? There’s too many shows!

    • Julie Chase

      Ahem. Yes. It is incredible.

  • Julie Chase

I love the two of them together so much that they be clothed in Saran-Wrap a-la Fried Green Tomatoes and I would still declare this a WERQ.

  • laura magner

I attended this ceremony while on vaca here in LA. Let me tell you, he looks great, despite the fact that it was hot, hot, hot outside! John O’Hurley gave a genuine, funny tribute/roast. Cranston had his wife and daughter there, his Dad, his cousins, and many friends. So even though there’s a bit of cheese I think it’s still pretty special to the stars that earn these. My pictures are not as good as these, as I was in the crowd to the left of the staged area and not in the press area, unfortunately!

    • Catiline

      Aw, that is really sweet.

    • Right before Breaking Bad debuted, I sat next to Bryan and his family in the food court at the mall. Bet he can’t do that anymore.

  • Emily Giovanni

I love him. I just read an article about him (I wanna say GQ?) in which it is clear that he just completely lacks any sense of vanity or shame when it comes to his work. He and others who have worked with him talk about how he literally will do anything – no matter how embarrassing – for a role. And he seems like a genuinely cool person. Do not get my started on my crush Aaron Paul.

    • venusvelvet

Nothing was too ridiculous for Hal in Malcolm in the Middle – getting his back shaved in the opening, running out in the street in his underwear countless times, mistakenly coming on to a stranger while modeling a Speedo, the roller skating routine, he threw himself into it.

      • Emily Giovanni

In the article, they talk about how they had a game on Malcolm in the Middle where they would try to find his limit, and they never did. The producers called it off before he did (there was something with bees, apparently).

    • kirkyo

Reminds me of the NPR (Fresh Air, I think) interview from several years back where he talked about the Malcolm pilot and the shaving scene – I could be misremembering but I think that was goat hair glued to his body.

  • carnush

Adore! They are the cutest. And they are so damn good together.

  • Danielle L

  • DuBey2

Kind of surprised he didn’t show up in his favorite Tightie Whities.
Anyway, I have loved him ever since Malcolm in the Middle. I am guessing that one of his greatest strengths as an actor is how well he relates with (and supports) the other actors/characters on screen. Plus, he is so unique. Can’t wait to see what he does next.

  • Roza

I have no idea who he is, but I love he suede shoes.

  • I love both these men with the passion of a thousand suns..

However, I cannot in good conscience support these fashion choices of Aaron Paul on this occasion and I am genuinely shocked because he is usually *so* stylish and dapper. What the heck have they done to Aaron Paul’s midsection? I do not understand what is going on here. Why is his crotch meeting his knees? Where has his waist gone? Why is there three extra yards of fabric at his ankles?

I will have nightmares about this outfit forever. I have a great sad. 🙁

However I will forever have a huge HAPPY about the outfits Aaron Paul wore as Jesse Pinkman. And those outfits live on forever, anytime I want to put the dvd in. 🙂

  • misstressofsylar

awww..Aaron looks more excited than Bryan

  • filmcricket

These pictures are amazing and I love him.

  • babylonsista

I don’t care if his pants hems (along with those shoes) are awful. He’s sessy. But in a dignified, husbandy way. Yum.

  • kirkyo

    Love them both so much.

  • librarygrrl64

    Love. Him.

  • largishbearishAtlish

Isn’t there a lot of politics/hoop jumping to GET a star? If so, then Good For You Mr Cranston! Job well done!

  • flamingoNW

I wonder which Scientology building HIS star is in front of?

  • MGMcD

It’s too hot for this much handsomeness. Pass me my smelling salts.

  • PrunellaV

I’m just happy to be reminded he’s not really like the character he plays.

  • d4divine

I loved Cranston in Malcolm in the Middle, but I am not a fan of Breaking Bad. On another note, I find it very peculiar that BOTH men are in desperate need of a tailor.

    • KTBSN

A master of physical comedy- he was incredible on that show.

  • Mars Tokyo

Do they ever remove old stars to make way for more new ones? Or do they just keep adding to it?

    • cageyjenni

They do remove old stars if the recipient of the old star/their estate stops paying for it

Yes little known fact… not only do the stars have to submit a request for a star in the first place they also rent the space since they have to pay for the upkeep.

So tlo is right its all pretty fake and meaningless.

      • AnnPopovic

I did not know that! And now I kind’a wish I didn’t… is there a list somewhere of the stars that got axed?

  • quiltrx

Love him, and I haven’t even gotten into Breaking Bad yet! I kind of wish he had shown up in his “Hal” tighty-whities.

  • MzzPants

They’re both adorable, even in ill-fitting suits.

  • Joanne Abrams

so happy for Bryan Cranston, well deserved and he looks great

  • AnnPopovic

Good for him! On another note, that brown suit his young co-star is wearing is delish!

  • CassandraMortmain

Best. Pics. Ever. Love Cranston and Aaron Paul so much. Counting down the days until Breaking Bad is back. So much anticipation for these final eps. If they stick the landing (and I trust Vince Gilligan and everyone involved) then this show possibily moves into best tv show of all time contention. Heck, it already is. My one hope is that Jesse somehow survives and has a chance at a decent life. No hope of that for Walter. And I ‘m really looking forward to seeing Dean Norris navigate the endgame.
