This look is too frumpy; totally ages her. And those sandals are hideous and just don’t go with the dress.

      • mshesterp

She looks 40 AND 12 AND it looks like a 90’s-era dress that I had in junior high…can’t she find something better for her 18-year old self??

        • barbarienne

          (40 + 12) ÷ 2 = average age 26? Oh, if only it actually worked that way.

      • YoungSally

Needs the black t-neck underneath it to give it the right vibe….

    • Emily Dagger

I have mixed feelings about this, but could I please, PLEASE get the orange coat the other model is wearing?

      • homofascist

        Priorities people. Priorities.

    • SewingSiren

I prefer the way the designer styled it , sort of mod with turtleneck, tights , flats ,and wedge haircut. It’s cute as is, but a bit conservative.

    • hughman

      Peggy Moffat wore it best.

    • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

The whole look spins way too conservative on her, regardless of her adorable smile.

    • Emily Smith

well isn’t she the spitting image of her namesake.

      • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

        Who is she named for?

        • charlotte

          She is Vera Farmiga’s sister.

          • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

            I know – that doesn’t make her a namesake!

            • charlotte

I thought a namesake was also someone with the same (in this case last) name.

            • Emily Smith

Maybe I have it backwards. Regardless, they look very very alike!

            • Emily Smith

I looked it up because I wasn’t sure: Namesake is a term used to characterize a person, place, thing, quality, action, state, or idea that has the same, or a similar, name to another. Now we know!

      • Sheneve Butler

I know, I can’t believe they are only sisters.

    • marlie

I don’t hate this, in theory, but the lace at the top of the dress looks a little cheap. Though she really could have also worn something SO much more fun, considering she’s only ~19 years old. I like her makeup – it’s young and fresh, but I would have preferred a different hair style on her.

    • Rhonda Shore

She’s young and she needs a stylist to either pick out another outfit or at least note that if that lace hit just a bit higher, as in bolero, it would look sooo much better.

    • Beardslee

SHE’S 18? Lamb dressed as mutton, for a change.

    • Sheneve Butler

I don’t like this. It’s a nice color, but I’m not a fan of the lace.

    • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

This is too severe, too formal, and too older lady.

    • Betsy

A little longer skirt, and this would be a perfect Mother-of-the-Bride look. Which means it’s WAY too old for you, darling child! Go find something young, hip — basically something NOT better suited to the 50 and older crowd.

    • crash1212

Girl that is not your dress. And even if it was, those shoes would be the wrong choice.

    • l_c_ann

Congrats to her for not putting her hands in the pockets at the tops of her thighs. It would have been so easy.

    • decormaven

If she had stuck with the runway look, I could get behind this look. This just reads ol’ lady, and she’s too young for that.

    • Anniebet

Very 60’s Mod on the model. Very late 40’s matron on her.

    • YayaGurl

Off topic but Sofia Coppola gets on my nerves. She’s a b+ director at best and now slapping her name on Louis Vuitton? Ick.

      • TheAmericaness

Yeah, Marie Antoinette & Lost in Translation were some of the biggest duds in movie history – right up there with Dune & Caligula. Spot On…. Now if only someone would do something about Wes Anderson, amirite? ;)

        • YayaGurl

Well, Wes Anderson redeemed his twee little self with Moonrise Kingdom. I always thought Lost in Translation was overrated, maybe you can explain its appeal. Really, that is said without sarcasm or snark. But Marie Antoinette? Who’s still talking about that? It has no legs because there is nothing to it once you look beyond its admittedly stunning visuals it falls flat. Anyway, to each their own.

          • TheAmericaness

            Moonrise Kingdom?

I think we’ll just have to agree to disagree. I consider Moonrise Kingdom one of his fails.

            Cheers. :)

    • MilaXX

meh, I prefer the tights and flats,(but not the turtleneck) the model is wearing. It feels more youthful that way. The way Taissa is wearing it makes the dress look old lady.

    • aplomb

The proportions are off. The skirt and the top must be shorter. By making them “normal” length, she just looks dull-on-the-verge-of-frumpy instead of mod. PLUS…shoes? Not mod, don’t go, no. Why wear this if you’re not going to reinterpret 60’s?

    • Becky

      Mother of the Bride.

    • Miss WKS

      sisterwife in hooker kicks.

    • demidaemon

Without the model’s styling, this is just lame. Lame and boring.

    • teensmom99

A couple of points for a teen being somewhat covered up rather than overly sexy. Sadly, she really needs those extra points because this is not great.

    • AndreaSkates

It looks like someone accidentally shortened the Mother-of-the-Bride dress too much and then decided the best thing to do was just hand it to the bride’s youngest sister to wear to the rehearsal dinner.

    • nannypoo

I like this little outfit but that hair is just so stupid looking and I hate her shoes.

    • formerlyAnon

No. The look depends on the styling and the styling fails. It just looks generic and possibly as if your wardrobe was created by a [very good] seamstress who only had the clothes you inherited from your grandmother for fabric.

    • H2olovngrl

Those shoes are way wrong for this look.

    • http://www.ellenciompi.com/ NurseEllen

Those shoes are an abomination. Completely ugly in every possible way.
