Peplum AND platforms AND illusion netting? I’m out.

    • eowyn_of_rohan

And it’s the saddest goddamn peplum I’ve ever seen.

    • Jen

Oh dear. I didn’t even NOTICE the illusion netting amid the rest of the tragedies– bless her heart.

  • PastryGoddess

    Stomachs don’t need windows

    • drdarke

Not since STAR TREK: THE ORIGINAL SERIES, @PastryGoddess:disqus .

      Or I DREAM OF JEANNIE….

    • demidaemon

You know, I could deal with it more if it was a full midriff. At least it looks purposeful at that point. But these cutouts look like cutting mistakes and its inappropriate for the venue and time of day, in my opinion.

  • Annarosa

that dress is ugly on anyone.
    from neck up: beautiful.

  • eowyn_of_rohan

The woman in sunglasses in the last pic is judging her. Hard.

    • http://www.ellenciompi.com/ NurseEllen

Let’s hope is isn’t Miranda’s stylist, thinking, “Wow, this looked a lot better in the dressing room.”

  • Nancer

    Ugh.

  • carlaaxtman

In the last frame, the lady on the right can’t believe Miranda’s stylists let her leave the house in that thing. I’m with her.

  • Janet B

    Love the fabric.

  • Dorothy & Michael n/a

That dress is ugly no matter who’s wearing it. Yech.

  • leahpapa

    I’m having Delia*s flashbacks from 1998.

  • TaurusKW

“I’m sorry, Three Floor, this means that you are OUT. Auf wiedersehen.”

  • Sagecreek

Oh, dear. I thought it was kinda bad till I saw the illusion netting. It’s AWFUL.

  • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

    Nope, not a chance, honey.

    • StellaZafella

Not an illusion netting of a chance…inflate that peplum and go to the pool.

Amanda’s a cute girl, she’ll grow up to be a beautiful woman, but she needs better gay-lettes.

  • Ashley Alvarez

    None of it.

  • JMB_edits

Oh, poor Carly. Couldn’t Sam have tackled you before you left the apartment and stopped you from wearing this?

  • Jaeda Laurez

Who decided that upper part of the abs was the new hotness? It’s invariably unflattering, especially since you have to move the waist of the dress upwards to granny-panty level to create it, and then the top never looks bra friendly, so the boobs do weird things. . They have to STOP.

Wait- is that illusion netting I see as well? *throws laptop*

    • marlie

That’s the same way I felt when I saw the illusion netting.

      • majorbedhead

Me, too. I let out an audible “Ugh” when I saw that. Good thing I’m working alone today.

  • Lesley

saw the dress and thought it looks like something made on project runway, then i saw the illusion netting and i’m left speechless..it’s on a whole new level of awful.

  • Donna Tabor

She is very pretty, but that is seriously one of the goofiest dresses I’ve ever seen.

  • Sara__B

Such a lovely young woman. Such an awful dress.

  • WendyD

    A GIANT WORLD OF “NO”

  • nannypoo

A peplum, a cutout, Minnie Mouse shoes and a big ol’ hunk of illusion netting. Not much to like here. Even the woman in the black and white outfit with black tights and booties is worried about her.

  • marlie

This is all sorts of NO. The dress looks like something that would get a contestant “auffed” from PR. And I hate the unnecessary illusion netting AND unnecessary cutout. And the weird colorblocking. And the weird peplum. And then Minnie Mouse shoes. NO.

  • Susan Velazquez

What is that illusion netting? Ugh and let’s ban Minnie Mouse shoes forever.

  • Miss WKS

I think One Floor would have sufficed….

  • Anz

Peplum over pleats– I can’t. Let’s take a beautiful, petite young woman and just dump a bunch of fabric on her.

  • MoHub

I like the color. That’s about it.

  • muelonil

No. No no no no no.
The more I look at it, the more it looks a slutty Disney princess costume…so maybe that’s fitting in a way.
    But still…no.

  • somebody blonde

    What an ugly dress.

  • majorbedhead

Is it blue eyelet for the fabric, in addition to all the other crimes against fashion going on?

I weep. WEEP, I tell you.

  • MilaXX

Definitely not awesome. Not awesome on the model & not awesome on the starlet.

  • Tracy_Flick

Bland ice dancing costume? Over-sexed homemade doll clothes? It’s such an odd combination of “sexy,” frumpy, and costumey – what a mess.

  • conniemd

Ridiculous dress, but OTOH, she’d probably look sillier wearing something chic posed in front of giant eyeballs.

  • Anathema_Device

No. Even the big eye is giving her the stink eye.

  • jmorino08

How does one look at the photo of that dress on the model and still decide to put it on their own body?

    • sweetestsith

That is exactly what I would like to know… I could live with it minus the peplum, but as is the dress is just tragic. Hair & makeup look great though!

  • Jessica Freeman

Maybe without the peplum…but it’s just so over designed…its atrocious.

    • Lori

Even without the peplum it would still have all that illusion net. It’s not savable.

  • Glam Dixie

That is a ‘Girl, what were you thinking’ moment right there. All kinds of awful.

  • jenno1013

Project Runway last-three-on-the-runway look. Too many elements and one of them is a cutout.

  • teensmom99

I think the racks of Urban Outfitters are full of this dress and others like it-the “final sale” racks, I mean. (Yes, this is the kind of knowledge you gain when you have a teen).

  • Jessica Vann

The onlooker’s face in that last pic says it ALL! Haha. What a misshapen overworked dress.

  • Tatiana Luján

Can she go on the worst dressed list this year? Talk about a Frankendress.

  • poggi

Wow. The fact that she can still look adorable in this mess is a testament to her innate and indefatigable cuteness.

  • drdarke

You put some clothes on right NOW, Young Lady – !

    Help – I’m turning into my Dad….

  • kittenwithaquip

This is so many kinds of wrong. It’s like a dress designed for Minnie Mouse, but she rejected it for being too trashy.

  • formerlyAnon

DREADFUL dress. But she is young and cute and the event is young and cute, so she gets away with it. Barely.
Can’t stop myself, must say it again: that is a DREADFUL, awful, no-good dress.

  • boldprint

    I. What is this. Um. I. I just. What is this.

  • ThaliaMenninger

That is a truly hideous dress. No way that would ever work on anyone.

  • alyce1213

I don’t even understand what the designer had in mind here.

  • anotherkate

    Titbow peplum WHY?

  • mickiemonkey

Is that a barrette between her breasts? Or a money clip?

  • Mrs. Julien

    Oh honey, no.

  • CakesOnAPlane

If the dress is waist-obscuring on the model, it’s best to just not try it at home.

  • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

Cut it into tiny little pieces. Put it back together. Burn it.

  • TigerLaverada

    What a ridiculous dress.

  • MannahattaMamma

did she forget that she’s an actual person with an actual body & not just the voice of an animated character?

  • dalgirl

    Dress-spicable.

  • plinkiedoodle

    Cute girl. Outrageously ugly dress.

  • benjamin478

the lady in the last picture looks appropriately concerned

  • Kelly Sowers

    No.

  • appliquer

    Project Runway challenge gone wrong.

  • kim bunchalastnames

the dress is … questionable, but SHE’S adorable. gods, here’s hoping the hollywood girlchild star curse skips her.

  • Sadie-Ann

I’m still of the mindset that cutouts like that always make for a weird torso. It completely gets rid of any impression of a waist.

  • http://frankbettecenter.org/ sleah_in_norcal

looks like mom made her a costume for the school play. i just can’t decide what the plays about. something to do with fairy princesses no doubt.

    • Tatiana Luján

She’s dressed up as the blueberry cupcake on the beach number 3.

  • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

    Nope. ’nuff said.

  • Raymond Dnomyar

What IS that? Way too many design elements. The illusion netting is particularly terrible. Shoes suck.

  • librarygrrl64

    That dress is an abomination.

  • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gaby

Titbows will pretty much never not be tacky to me.

  • frannyprof

Hideous. Awful. Everything is wrong with this dress. Not even her youth and cuteness can save this look.

  • decormaven

That’s one of the silliest dress designs I’ve ever seen. A pox on the stylist who foisted this disaster off on such a cute gal.

  • maggiemaybe

    Uh oh.

  • Danielle L

The illusion netting makes my teeth itch. Go home and try again later.

  • MiriamMc75

    aggressively ugly dress!

  • AnneElliot

God, that’s ugly. She needs to steal that cute dress that AnnaSophia Robb was wearing yesterday, and put that schmatta in a bonfire. It’s just sad and droopy.

  • ankali

Good news: she looks better than the model. Bad news: that isn’t saying much.

  • quiltrx

I just love her, but that dress is a TRAGEDY. if she doesn’t have a stylist, she needs one. If she does, they need to be set ablaze.

  • demidaemon

    1) She is appearing for a children’s movie (the targeted audience, at least) 2) That midriff cutout, in all its forms, is stupid and looks like a design mistake 3) Why does it have illusion netting above the bodice? 4) The result: a dress that could have been salvaged with some choice edits (namely covering the cutout and ditching the illusion netting) is now a bit trashy and inappropriate for the venue.

  • anyalama

    JFC, just… no.

  • Jennifer Peters-Ahnberg

    What an ugly little frock.

  • MandyM

Ugh! No! She’s so cute but good lordy that’s an ugly dress!
