Matthew Morrison at The Grove

Posted on June 14, 2013

Attaboy, Matthew.

Matthew Morrison is seen at The Grove for an appearance on the TV show ‘Extra’ in Los Angeles.

Nicely done. Someone seems to have figured out what his strengths are on the style front. We seem to be seeing him less and less often in hipster douchebag getups. This is classic, chic, and suits him perfectly (pun unintended). Love the very subtle pop of tone-on-tone with the shirt and tie.

  • Yeah. He does nothing for me.

    Nice suit, though.

    • Lesley

totally agree. the suit is beautiful i’ll give him that, but nope nothing for me!

    • DebbieLovesShoes

There’s something a little too Lyle Lovett-esque for me. But I agree on the suit… and the shoes are good, as well.

      • shorty j

The curse of the curly-haired dude: too little product and you look like a mushroom. Too much product and you look like a used-car salesman. CANNOT WIN.

        • DebbieLovesShoes

Yeah…. I can see that. I also always think of Kramer.

  • Rand Ortega

Are the boystars wearing their suit jackets too tight to put out the message that they’re so well endowed in the chest area that their suits just won’t fit? Is this becoming a trend? Because it’s happening too often to just be coincidence.

    • barbarienne

It’s not just the jackets. The whole trend is for tighter suits on guys. I am slightly startled by being able to see which way they dress in their pants.

(But from the stand point of fashion history, it’s amusing the hell out of me. Can the revival of codpieces be too many decades behind? Is that something I’ll see in my lifetime?)

      • I wlll ask you to cast your mind back to the 80s and the spandex nightmare. Yep, I’m figuring codpieces are just around the corner.

        • majorbedhead

Oh god, now I have to go bleach my brain. I’d managed to forget about that.

        • formerlyAnon

Bringing up ’80s spandex was simply unkind.

        • girliecue

No! I shan’t go back there. Not even for you, Sir K! *shudders because can’t spell the sound I’m now making*

      • Patricia Gillett

I was thinking this all Sunday night watching the Tonys. NPH looked like he was going to bust out of his tux onstage.

  • MilaXX

He looks good, but he’s still on my irrational hate list.

  • Monzerrat Ontiveros

Sue Silvester is in my mind saying something about his ridiculous curly hair…

  • Janet B

The Glee men are 3 for 3.

  • Beardslee

He’s dressed like a grown up, in well fitting clothes. Lovely.

  • barbarienne

Hello, I don’t know who you are, but you’re a handsome fellow and that is a very nice suit.

(Also, he is drinking the only bottled fancy water that I really like.)

    • majorbedhead

      He stars in Glee.

  • marlie

He looks great here! Glad to see him leaving the douche-y hipster getups behind.

    • Glammie

Oh I liked his little vests. It’s just that they became a total cliche.

He does seem to like a little bit of flair in his clothes–lately it’s been the shoes. I’m all for a male star with a thing for shoes–it’s different.

  • RL McGruder

Let’s put Henry Cavill in that, m’kay?

  • susan6

That’s a good look. Does he have a mic clipped to his lapel?

    • Brian G. Cox

It does look like a lavalier mic. He has to be appearing for something, because nobody dresses like that to shop in LA (at the Grove or even Beverly Hills). Dine — yes, Shop — no.

  • AmeliaEve

    And more fancy footwear!

  • Howard Sturrup

Wouldn’t mind a little pillow talk with him on a on going bases…… I noticed a few comments down someone mentioned he’s on “Glee” ? That just ruined all the steamy action he an I were engaged in in my head.

  • ailujailuj

a bit overdressed for a parade, non?

  • decormaven

Well done, sir. That’s a nice fabric in the suit, and love that shirt & tie.

  • nannypoo

The woman in the last picture is saying “Who?”

  • He really has managed to wash the smarm off. Maybe he can give Of Course some pointers on rehabbing her image.

  • formerlyAnon

Nice! Best I’ve ever seen him look.

  • Qitkat

Love the suit, love the shoes, wish the tie had a bit of pattern.
    Well, done, Mr. Morrison.

  • Ramon Figueroa

The man created Link in “Hairspray” and Fabrizio in “The Light in the Piazza” Unless he gets caught eating a live baby, he gets a perpetual pass from me. And he has the dreamiest hairy chest.

    • largishbearishAtlish

he was the original Link? really? didn’t know that…dang- that takes a few points off my perpetual annoyance list. I still can’t watch that show he is on now though (shudder(.

      • demidaemon

I would blame that more on Ryan Murphy and his writers than the cast. They are just trying to make a living after all, and hit shows do not come as often as they used to.

  • Crystal

Yeah, I think the reason he looked like such a douche to me before was because he was always DRESSED like one. But he looks nice here.

  • Patricia Gillett

There needs to be a magazine spread on the shoe section of this dude’s closet. There is some serious action in there.

  • MandyM

He needed different shoes. I am not crazy about the color of the suit with the shoe color. Maybe a different shade of brown.

  • Way to go.

  • stephbellard

    He looks SO fuckable here.

    • demidaemon

  • quiltrx

I’ve never liked brown shoes with grey, but from the ankles up he looks nice.

  • Matthew does not drink Arrowhead (or – God forbid! – Kirkland) bottled water from a plastic bottle. No, Matthew drinks imported Italian mineral water from a glass bottle, the better to soothe his vocal cords I’m sure.

  • jw_ny

Very nice! Style wise, I think he usually gets it right…seriously makes me question his orientation. 😉

  • PeaceBang

First time I have ever seen him on here and not wanted to smack him upside the head. Well played, MM!

  • Stacy Feng

I want to thank whomever bought him shampoo. Clean hair always helps!
