Jada Pinkett Smith in Gucci

Posted on June 03, 2013

BAM. Miss Jada is serving up FACE and HAIR, bitches. Clear the room.

Jada Pinkett Smith attends the ‘Chime For Change: The Sound Of Change Live’ Concert in Gucci.

Gucci Fall 2012 Collection/Model: Suvi Koponen

Gucci ‘Phoebe’ High Heel Sandal with Jeweled Embroidery

We’re only so-so on the outfit, but everything north of the neck is spectacular.

As for everything south of it, we wouldn’t mind the outfit except the blouse looks so limp and shapeless. And we’re trying to be open-minded about those shoes, but they just look crafty and overwrought to us. Switch those pieces out for something more suitable and she could be working a WERQ. Either way, hair and makeup queens deserve a bonus tonight, Miss Jada.

Never seen a pedicure like that before. Hate the shoes. Can’t with the feather jacket. I think the shirt and shorts could’ve been something…just not this. Totally agree on the hair and make-up.

      • MilaXX

It’s just a variation of a french pedicure. They used silver instead of white.

        • filmcricket

I’ve seen a few manicures like that. Honestly, it just looks like she has silver dirt under her nails. I guess that’s what separates the super-rich from the rest of us: their nail dirt is actually precious metals.

          • MilaXX

It’s very common in my neck of the woods.

      • drdarke

Look! Hawkgirl Hits The Red Carpet!

Wow – that’s far too many things going on at one time for me….

    • alyce1213

Boy, does she ever look better when her face is relaxed and she smiles. So pretty.
      Breathe, girl!

      • TheDivineMissAnn

Yes! Those angular features just melt away when she smiles.

      • TAGinMO

I also think somewhat harder-edged looks with interesting details, like this one, make her features look softer. When there’s nothing in her attire competing with the face and everything is floaty and feminine, then the angularity stands out more. Here, it’s just one part of a coherent whole.

But yeah, the smile probably helps as much as anything.

    • MilaXX

Love everything but the shoe. I think the hair color is extremely flattering on her. Switch those shoes for the ones Rachel Bilson is wearing and I could sign off on this entire look.

      • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

        YES to the shoe swap.

    • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

WoW. I am dazzled. The thumbnail was so pretty, I was afraid to see the entire thing. I personally cannot stand feathers, and I hate the shoes, so I have a slight disappoint, but it’s just so nice to see softer, relaxed, unclenched Jada.

    • OrigamiRose

Is it me or is her toenail ‘art’ designed to make it seem like they’ve got major dirt underneath?

    • StellaZafella

I think the look overall has the right amount of slouch to it not to be too dressy…this is a red carpet but not a Red Carpet.
The shoes are almost exactly like stuff I wore in the 70’s…high heeled espadrilles with bead-work… If that’s wrong I don’t wanna be right.

    • Amanda Herriott Welliver

The shoes just read “Coming to America” dancers to me. Except they put the headdresses on the toes.

    • Tapetum

The shoes looks like they killed and stuffed a pair of miniature albino peacocks and then nailed them to the shoes. Ick.

    • hughman

The jacket went from Diva Fab on the runway to Sad Waterlogged Muppet on the RC. I am disappoint.

      • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

Way too much lost in translation.

    • nannypoo

She really looks relaxed and pretty here.

    • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

      I. LOVE. HER. HAIR. Her makeup looks great too. And the rest of the outfit is disappointing – she could have really made that feather jacket sing.

      • Isabel

Beyonce needs to go to Jada’s hair stylist.

        Fab hair.

    • http://TVGasm.com/ Jonathan Mallen

Ridic – this family needs to go away for a year long retreat where they can only wear cotton. From top to bottom, including hair.
      And no barley water allowed!

    • Michael Rolly

The only thing she is serving is a vivid photographic illustration of how bad excessive plastic surgery looks and how we reward people for looking as fake as possible (makeup, hair, silicone) rather than for their talent. I don’t blame her. I think its a sad reflection of what American society has come to value.

    • lizajane1776

She looks better here than she has in the past 10 years. Relaxation is the way to go. The shoes should have split the pair of earring between them rather than having a whole set on each shoe. The jacket apparently can’t have anyone actually put their hands into the sleeves.
But SHE is gorgeous. This makes everything make more sense.

    • kimiakay

Interesting shoes. I don’t understand about the “Jeweled Embroidery” on the shoe. Where is the embroidery? Otherwise, she looks softer here than usual.

    • Jennifer Peters-Ahnberg

Those shoes are Capital U Ugly.

    • Anniebet

Now that’s more like it. The last few TLos featuring her have her looking all harsh around the face. She looks soft and pretty here. Da shoes have to go though.

    • blairdawn

Amazing how much difference a smile makes! Didn’t even recognize her for a moment and it makes me so much more lenient on the outfit, which just looks like random pieces thrown together.

    • sekushinonyanko

I’m glad she found this hair and makeup, because it’s definitely working out. The outfit’s not bad. I don’t even hate the crafty shoes.

    • ballerinawithagun

So that’s where all my pins went. I’ve been looking for that pin cushion forever.

    • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

She can work a look like this so well. But is it my monitor or does her skin look rust colored??

    • NoveltyRocker

      Those shoes are yuck.

    • Darren Nesbitt

The way she chooses to dress and style herself always looks so young and refreshing. Is she even aging? She looks beautiful.

    • jmorino08

And all of the sudden I see Adam’s Apple. First time ever on her. Anyone else?

Shut up! I spent the weekend with queens and lesbians and a transgender walking 40 miles for breast cancer. I didn’t see that much bulk on any of their necks!

    • Imasewsure

Really do not like the fake hair although the color is nice on her. Tacky tacky styling as usual but I don’t dislike the outfit (as long as you can block out the shoes, it’s cute and kind of fun)

    • PeaceBang

Nice recovery from the strange girly-girl recent missteps. I agree on the shoes but the overall look suits her, and she looks happy and pleased with herself.

    • Qitkat

Sometimes a gal just wants to put the bling on her feet.
Her hair and smile are fabulous! She ought to wear her hair like this more often.

    • formerlyAnon

I’m on board with everything but the shoes. They make me think of a very upscale retirement home for “active seniors.”

The real question: HOW does she look like a stressed out, underfed and very, very tightly wound woman about to shoot you dead with a glance in one photo, and like THIS in a photo taken not much more than a week later?

    • Jessica Freeman

She needed a better fitting shirt with the shorts and jacket. It’s just too frumpy. Whoever is doing her hair and make up of late she should give a major bonus to. She looks soft and gorgeous.

    • http://www.lippsisters.com/ Deborah Lipp

Help! A chandelier fell on my feet!

    • MartyBellerMask

I’ll take the outfit, why not. But she LOST ME at the shoes. Sleek booties, Jada!

    • Not applicable

i have a permanent lip curl regarding Jada (mostly b/c she pimps out her kids) but this is the best she’s looked in a while- really stunning. I still don’t like her- but hey- credit where it’s due. (something I will NEVER be able to say about J-lo… but that’s a different level of hate)

    • Erica_Vuitton

I LOVE her silver tip french pedicure!!! Don’t care of that’s “pintest” territory.

    • NYCGlamourpuss

Agree 100%, TLo – from the neck up, she looks MUCH softer than she has in the past. Below the neck – ehhh. It’s not awful, but ehhh…

    • kim bunchalastnames

the long hair softens her. she needed that, i think.

    • Blythe Irish

The coat looked so much better on the runway. Why does it look like a dead chicken here?

    • shelley514

Her face is softening a bit now that her botox and filler has settled in better. Thank goodness!

    • MaggieMae

      Girl crush!
