Felicity Jones in Louis Vuitton

Posted on June 12, 2013

Very, very cute; girly with a slight edge to it:

Felicity Jones attends the premiere of ‘The Bling Ring’ in Los Angeles in Louis Vuitton.

It takes a special gal to rock that much leather and make it looks pretty and feminine. Then again, it helps that she didn’t pick these up from her local leather wholesaler. That LV label doesn’t automatically mean style and class, but in this case, we’re thinking it had a lot to do with why this leather is so supple and these pieces so beautifully rendered. Money does pay for better clothes sometimes, darlings. Frustrating but true.

We have to admit, were a little bored by the shoes.

She looks like if Morticia were a lamp.

    • VicD

      Or a cheerleader.

  • Sarah

A genuine smile and a different shoe would improve this 100%.

    • Lucía Gavello

Is it me or is she taking bitchface classes with January Jones?

  • mjude

back in the day i would so wear that jacket.

    • ItsDicey

      That makes two of us.

  • Latin Buddy

I agree, quality and taste are not necessarily commensurate with cost. For example, Michael Kors mensware must be one of the shittiest, poorly designed line out there…but it costs a fortune. Conversely, JCrew is a fraction of the cost and their clothes appear to be better quality or designed. At the end of the day, have to choose what looks good on you. Nobody will see the price tag and size (HATE any clothes with visible logos).

    • So with on every bit of this, especially the visible logo thing. I flatly refuse to pay a manufacturer for the privilege of doing their advertising for them.

How did Louis Vuitton convince their clientele to do that? I could put the knowledge to good use.

I guess the idea is to sell to twits who have no confidence in their own judgement about the quality of clothes they are wearing.

It’s like wearing clothes with the price printed all over the fabric and the tags hanging out.

    • Blair Sylvester

I really love J. Crew but I have a brown suede Michael Kors jacket that I got for like 70% off and I love it and get so many compliments. His underwear and t shirts are crazy over priced and nothing special but I do really like that one jacket. Also I think high fashion nets you better raw materials but it doesn’t always make for better designs. If Marchessa and Stella McCartney are any indication you can do some awful things with wonderful fabrics

      • demidaemon

Yes. It’s unfortunate that these fabrics are continually turned into shitty clothes.

    • ItsDicey

You’re so right. I have a couple of friends who own Coach bags. Nothing wrong with that, but for the same price I prefer a better looking bag without all the advertisement.

  • ceceliadid

Perfect hair and makeup for this look. Rocking the leather snaps of respect.

  • StellaZafella

My favorite kind of dressy/cas look…only I’d be wearing cigarette pants…in black of course.
If the jacket is the quality it’s price might imply…she can store it and bring it back out every time it cycles back into vogue.

  • conniemd

Way too much black. I like the skirt, I just couldn’t help thinking what a colored (or even white) top would have done to make it look much better.

  • Loving this. Agree, the shoes are a bit boring, but I suspect a snazzier shoe would take this into hoochie territory. I’d also love to see just a wee bit more length on the skirt.

  • Josefina Madariaga Suárez

I wish Zooey Deschanel would go this route at least once in her life.

    • Introspective

more than once! how about all the time…

love the jacket and skirt. sophisticated with edge for sure. not sure if i love them together but i see both pieces as having longevity in any woman’s wardrobe.

    • Sans black tights, of course.

    • kryten8

I was going to mention…they say this is not Zooey Deschanel. I am not sure I can entirely believe them.

  • MilaXX

Like the outfit on her, but the shoes take it into Zoey D territory.

    • Candigirl1968

The red and black ones on the models would have added a little something kicky to the ensemble.

  • Vanja

I don’t know. The clothes, especially the jacket, look too big on her.

  • Erica_Vuitton

Eh it doesn’t take a lot of effort when your event is sponsored by the designer you’re wearing. Cute enough but I would’ve loved a slim white pant instead of the skirt to let the jacket be the focus. And AGAIN with the gothic wrapping paper fabric. Were they having a sale or something???

  • plinkiedoodle

    Love from head to ankle!

  • Shell

Oh boy! Another Zooey Deschanel / Katy Perry look a like!

    • I’ve had an irrational, or maybe somewhat rational, love for Felicity Jones since she appeared in the only worthwhile film version of Northanger Abbey that I’ve seen, about six years ago.

      • isapaiva

Yes! That version was surprisingly good.

  • IMNAngryLiberal

    Seems very un-summer to me.

  • hughman

    Welcome to the Heathers.

  • marlie

I wish she’d had a slightly bolder color on her lips, and a different shoe, but otherwise she looks cute.

  • AmeliaEve

Very cute, and the Rich Baby Punk look totally suits the movie.

  • Jeff Warhurst

  • Very boring shoes but oh I just love, love, love the outfit and the hair and make-up. Cu-u-ute!

  • Rhonda Shore

I feel like something’s missing/not quite right…maybe a slightly longer skirt or a bit of white or red somewhere…i know a lot of the BK don’t like ankle boots, but i think they would have helped this look.

  • flamingoNW

Really don’t like skirts like that. Rarely flattering. It’s borderline here for me

  • Samuel Joesph Donovan

I love the idea of the outfit, but that skirt has Sasha Cohen written allllll over it–way too short.

  • sekushinonyanko

Very Jenny Schecter from the L Word.

  • ErmengardeGreen

At first glance I was hoping this was Zooey D.

  • julnyes

The skirt is a little too stiff, but the jacket is lovely.

  • ConnieBV

Zooey D? This is how I wish she would dress.

  • Guest

IMO the skirt needs to be a couple of inches longer for good proportions.

  • Anplica Fiore

Slap on some black tights and she could almost be Zoe Deschanel…

  • RedRaven617

This is a look I could get behind for Zoe D. Sweet with an edge.

  • My god, I’m sweating just looking at her. A great look for winter.

  • nannypoo

    Pretty hair and makeup, too.

  • Anniebet

Love the great leather pieces we’re seeing lately. This outfit is exceptionally nice. Her face is beautifully done, and hair is fine. Lovely girl in a lovely clothes.

  • berkeleygirl

She should have worn the red/black shoes on the model on the right.

  • TSkot

    Too short

  • bertkeeter

Very 90’s…it should have stayed there! I am a fan though of the black flocked wallpaper!

  • lizajane1776

I had a flash of Zoe with the heavy bangs and the tucked in chin. Glad THAT passed.

  • Patricia Gillett

Is it just me or does she look like she could be cast as Amy Adams’ moody little sister in some in some angsty ensemble family drama?

  • DamH

totally cute. looks way better on her than on the model

  • ankali

That jacket is to DIE. Love the sleeves. And her hair is gorgeous, and her makeup is pretty, and I am crazy jealous of how effortlessly lovely she is.

  • DebbieLovesShoes

I don’t know… I sortof like that the shoes are simple, ’cause there is so much going on there. Busier shoes might have been overkill.

  • Annarosa

is it just me or the skirt looks unflattering/twisted? It suits perfectly the model but I don’t like it on her.

  • Warrior89

Her face is so beautiful. The skirt, not so much…emo cheerleader wants you to lose.

  • This is reminding me of something Zooey D. would wear……except she would have kept the polka dot hose.

  • MannahattaMamma

Is she wearing what my mother would call “nude hose?” ack…

  • JP

She looks bored by the whole thing.

  • calbear97

It took me a few pictures to process that I wasn’t looking at Krysten Ritter.

  • I love this look.
