I was thinking how much I liked it….until that last shot.

      • Kathy_Marlow

I agree, the color is tremendous on her, makeup/hair great, accessories, great. butt floof, NO

      • http://marshmallowjane.com/ marshmallowjane

        Exactly….

      • jmorino08

        Same here!

      • Sunraya

Me, too. I love the color on her, the light color on the model is so dirty looking. But an odd shape in the back.

    • Jaeda Laurez

I really miss the dark hair. And a little Vaseline wouldn’t hurt those heels. I feel like the dress is too short though- it’s not long enough to be a gown, but not short enough to be kicky and cute. Eh.

ETA: I prefer the blue, but I like the length on the model- it makes more sense.

      • Rhonda Shore

Something wasn’t clicking with me and you nailed it…it’s the hair color — she looks better as a brunette and on top of it she’s still wearing makeup that better suits her with dark hair. (I don’t mind that the dress gives her a butt though.)

      • tereliz

I’ve been missing the dark hair, too. Not everyone looks better with lighter hair.

    • Golfkat

Lovely. Absolutely lovely. Classy is not often something you see on the red carpet, but thankfully some people still know what it means.

    • Jeremiah Capacillo

The hem’s length’s really interesting and chic. Her hair color doesn’t do her any favors though.

      • drdarke

I think the hem length on Blunt is all wrong – clearly it’s meant to be a bit flirtier like it is on the model, showing off the knee when she walks and hanging just below standing still. And yeah, that side view emphasizes her ass, and not in a flattering way!

Color is great, though – and she looks well put-together, even as a blonde.

        • conniemd

The straight men I know all really love seeing a woman with a very rounded ass showing. I post on a baseball message board and all the men are constantly posting pictures and avatars of women with really voluptuous bottoms. Remember how Dr. Cutty on House always wore skirts that showed off her ass?

          • drdarke

@conniemd:disqus – I am a straight man, and while I enjoy a woman’s well-rounded buttocks just fine, this is not a flattering way to draw attention to hers….

The dresses Lisa Edelstein wore on HOUSE did it right (snug pencil-skirts mainly, if I recall) – this…doesn’t.

    • Anplica Fiore

I really like it! She looks great in this color and the shape is nice too.

    • bxbourgie

I was all MEH about pretty much the entire ensemble until I got to the picture of her feet! Good Lord, did she run out of lotion? Olive oil will do in a pinch!

      • decormaven

That’s a disconnect for me as well. If you’re going to wear such a shoe that is going to call attention to the heels due to the cutout, the feet should be pedi’d to perfection.

        • mshesterp

As someone who often has dry, calloused feet (where even regular pedicures and a pedi-egg won’t help that much), I had a “Stars, they’re just like us!” moment. Even Emily’s feet aren’t soft and beautiful all the time!

Actually, my first thought was musing on how-to’s of the extreme camera zoom to get that close to her feet. That’s me–Deep Thoughts.

Overall, I think she looks lovely, although that’s a lot of tulle at the bottom.

          • http://twitter.com/MixedupBek Rebekah B

This was exactly my thought. I was like, Emily Blunt and I have something in common!

      • sweetestsith

Looking at her feet, I wonder if she runs? Some runners are very protective of their callouses and such, perhaps she knows what they look like but really doesn’t care. The toenails are making me question that theory, but anyways…

    • Julie Chase

Great color, but I hate the bottom. So much.

    • Mismarker

I can’t hate on Emily Blunt. She looks lovely. I am also glad to see even celebrities suffer from the dreaded dry, cracked heel.

    • Annarosa

well, finally something different from what she wore lately. like the color of the dress. shoes look so uncomfortable…

    • AlisonS

I love it in the darker color. Love her make-up. Only so-so on the shoes. Maybe if they were a silver? HATE the hair, but I’m glad she’s not a pinhead.

    • http://twitter.com/Glam_Dixie Glam Dixie

Love the color but it really makes me think Prom. Maybe it’s the skirt.

    • MilaXX

Prom dress and that hair color is not flattering at all.

    • majorbedhead

The mean girl in me came out when I saw her heels. Nice to know celebs are human.

Great color on her but the poofy butt is not great.

    • marlie

Really pretty. Another Zac Posen dress with a lot going on, but since it’s in this tulle and not in satin, it’s not quite so *obvious.* The color is GORGEOUS. Her makeup is pretty, but I think she needed something more than yoga hair. And the clutch is all wrong. But overall, I like!

    • ceceliadid

Best she’s looked in a while. The color is fantastic on her.

But Zac Posen: time to switch it up? Looking through a slide show of his stuff recently, it was the same snug body, fishtail dress over and over, season after season.

    • nannypoo

She looks like someone else here, not sure who. I don’t like the makeup or the dress much, and the shoes look very uncomfortable. I guess I just don’t like this.

    • Tuneful54

Love the dress color, fit, and style. Her new hair color is fine with me but for this look I would have gone for something more polished than Schoolgirl Spaniel. Makeup is all wrong for her hair color. Don’t get me started on those FMPs (shoes), which seem wrong for this in every way. Maybe something more classic/vintage.

    • NYCGlamourpuss

Love the whole look on her, with only two quibbles: One, pumice those heels and get some lotion on them, stat!

*Second – just disappointed that yet another lady star with a fabulous haircolor has caved to the same, tired old pressure to go blonde. She looked great with her dark red hair. No offense to our beautiful blonde kittens – this is just a general Hollywood complaint, when you see a brunette or redheaded actress begin to just gradually, gradually, gradually lighten their hair, bit by bit, until they’re technically full-on blonde – because they, or Hollywood, or society, or whatever, thinks they should be.

(*As you can tell by the rant, I’m a brunette.)

    • Erica_Vuitton

Wow LOVE the dress in navy (what perfect fit in the bodice!!) and the clutch and jewelery are perfect but dang those are some seriously ratchet heels you got gurl….

    • FancyPhilly

The similarities between this dress and what my sister wore to her high school graduation in 1991 are striking. I hate the length and the bum hug.

      • halleygee

I was going to post almost the exact same thing! Except it looks like what my sister wore to homecoming. So late 80′s/early 90′s.

      • PeaceBang

“Bum hug,” however, is a great expression.

    • ballerinawithagun

Did she go hiking just before changing into those shoes??? I never even let my husband see my feet looking that way.

That dress in the navy is a vast improvement over the dirty laundry gray. But it is still just a prom dress.

Thanks to everyone for pointing out the different hair color. I kept thinking that can’t be Emily Blunt

    • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

I am biased in my love for her. I think she looks ready for a great night out. I love it.

    • http://twitter.com/kendallbrunson SassyMcFrench

Not only is she beautiful, but she’s almost married to John Krasinski. My only comfort is that that’s not the best dress for her.

      • Mismarker

They are married. And one day, I hope they choose to procreate. Those will be some hilarious, attractive kids.

    • Carrieanno

Zac owes Ms. Emily a big bouquet of roses. She’s doing him a solid. The runway version should have scared her off but she’s redeemed the dress.

    • GillianHolroyd

That lip color is amaaaazing with the dress. I think she looks great here. I guess if I had to quibble about one thing, it would be the purse.

    • random_poster

I love Emily, so for some sense of objectivity I’ll have to break it down. The color and fit are wonderful. Don’t mind the clutch/jewelry/shoes. Make-up is pretty. Skirt is wonky. Going back and forth on the hair.

    • Tatiana Luján

with that hair color, she looks a bit like Kate Winslet. I miss her dark hair.

    • bertkeeter

She has more personal style than half of the actresses in HOLLYWOOD rolled into one! Gorgeous woman!

    • $11431954

      Perfection personified.

    • Clydette Wantland

Is she attending a Gala or part of a wedding party?

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1180174329 Elizabeth Phillips

If her hair were dark again, this would be a 10. With the light hair, I’ll give it 9.9.

    • Lizzy

I like it. I like even more that my heels look slightly better than hers.

      • dashransome

Agreed – I think she looks perfect. And I’m thrilled to note that despite her flawlessness, my heels look about 40% better!

    • ConnieBV

The model’s dress fits better, the color would be more flattering than the harsh blue, lipstick is a bit too dark, the hair is a bit too messy…. Meh. Close, but not quite.

    • Sara__B

I like everything but the center-parted hair.

    • Melissa Bahr

While I hate the color that the model is wearing, it makes the dress look much lighter and almost lingerie inspired, but in the dark blue it loses all the details and just looks messy.

    • Nancer

      So pretty. I love it.

    • trisker

YES – AMAZING color on her. Otherwise meh.

    • Tracy_Flick

I love the color on her. The hair, though… I shudder to think how much it cost to have it look like she just got done with a moderately strenuous bike ride.

    • JP

Blonde doesn’t suit her, at least not in this light of a blonde. I think the whole look would have improved with non-day-at-the-beach hair, regardless of color. Not crazy about the dress, but the dark color suits her skin. This would have been atrocious if she had the same color as the model.

    • http://marshmallowjane.com/ marshmallowjane

She looks beautiful. She is beautiful. I love this dress. Unfortunately, the lines don’t show up well in the photographs due to the dark color. It’s a great runway dress.

I wonder if she has a little comb or brush in that little clutch. Her heels look like mine. I guess when you’re going to be on a red carpet, you must address every inch of skin and hair, period.

    • PeaceBang

The hair color! I have emotions about it.

    • julnyes

She looks fantastic I think. So glad she went with a color on the dress as opposed to the drabness of the runway version. I do wish she would go back to brunette.

    • crash1212

This is SO much better in the dark blue! I love this look and think she looks beautiful.

    • ‘Becca’lise Deveaux

Looks like the bridesmaid dresses in My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

    • Julie

I prefer the light gray version. You can really see the layers much better.

    • Claudia Berry

Unless it’s for a role, she really needs to go back to being brunette, it suits her so much better. And I think waxing from now on, Ms. Blunt? Those red bumps are very unsightly.

    • Sara h

Love the dress but its too bad you can’t see the detail

    • Anniebet

Beautiful, Ms. Blunt. Lovely dress, etc. (lots of Zac Posen here lately)

    • amanda lynn

      those shoes are awful.

    • bd73

not very interesting. she’s done much better. close up reveals she could use a pumice stone, tube of creamy vaseline and some white cotton socks, though.

    • bellafigura1

The dress is stunning in taupe. The navy flattens it out.

    • Richard

The red carpet is SO much better than the runway version. Her hair is waaaayy too casual for me, though.

    • Mona_Visa

Get that Krasinski fella to rub some Vaseline on your feet, girl! He seems like a nice enough guy.

    • http://asskickingadviser.com/ Ass Kicking Adviser

      Lovely.

    • Patricia Gillett

Amazing how her hair color throws everything off. it just does not suit her.

    • macwell

I was all on board. It’s a nice dress. Should have gone with a different color. The soles of her feet though? Gurl…

    • librarygrrl64

Thank goodness she didn’t go with the original color, though!
