  • Cute purse. That is all.

  • Meg

Googled it. Former Disney channel actress described on her website as “one of the most watched young stars in the business today.” I’ll try not to comment on the overzealousness of her PR team.

    • Rand Ortega

I’m surprised they didn’t add “a 1st in Project Runway history” to that sentence.

    • sekushinonyanko

Okay. So I’m old now. I’m only 24. It’s not FAIR!

  • Nancer

This dress is awkward. The bustline doesn’t fit her correctly, and it is obviously pulling through her waistline. I am not wild about the dress, but I think this is a case of girl – that’s not your dress.

    • Rhonda Shore

      sausage casing comes to mind.

    • drdarke

The dress is better on her than it is on the model, @disqus_5P4YrmBYb9:disqus – but that’s still not the same as saying it’s “good”.

The shoes look like a joke – but I kind of love the bag, though I doubt it’s remotely practical.

      • Nancer

I love the bag too! Though I agree – my hand would get tired holding that. Hand cramp!

  • conniemd

Don’t like the dress or the shoes. Die platform heels and die bras as bodices.

    • Sara__B

“Bras as bodices”. I hate them, too, and I ‘m going to remember that phrase to use myself. Thanks, Connie!

  • poggi

I was going to say that the dress doesn’t fit her right, but then I saw the model and I guess it fits the model properly but the dress still looks off. I agree that the shoes are bad. I like the bag–keep that, dump the rest, and start over.

  • MoHub

I do like that she lost the top lattice strip from the runway version. One is enough and looks more playful and less sleazy than two.

  • Lisa Utter

The dress reminds me of a rose trellis, and the shoes are a tragedy. Purse is cute, in a Christmas gift kind of way.

  • marlie

The bodice doesn’t fit correctly, and the fabric is rather stiff, making that silhouette look… weird. And those SHOES. Good LORD do they need to be burned. But hey, her hair and makeup look nice, and the clutch is interesting.

  • eowyn_of_rohan

I didn’t know they still named kids Debby.

  • Garcia Loca

She’s adorable, even with clunky stripper shoes.

  • if you had a five year old girl in your family you’d know who she is for sure. her show, “Jessie”, plays all day and all night on the disney jr. channel. she plays a nanny for a rich couple in a new york penthouse, who are always out of town and have a slew of multi-racial adopted kids , one of whom has a pet monitor lizard (shudder). it’s actually quite amusing, and she’s a cute comedic actress.

    • marlie

Oh – she’s THAT girl. She over-acts like crazy, though. It was painful to watch.

Yes, I watched a episode when I was forced to by my nephew.

    • drdarke

      Oh, that’s HER!

My kid brother (who’s fifty, by the way!) watches the show – he’s been a Disney-phile his whole life (wore a Mickey Mouse tie to T’s and I’s wedding!). He enjoys it because one of the kids is Indian, and references Bollywood a lot – as part of our regular Bollywood Movie Watching Group, he gets a kick out of hearing references to Shahrukh Khan and Amatabh Bachchan’s genie in ALADIN.

      • the kid from india, whose name escapes me, is my favorite character! he’s the one with the pet giant lizard. those sorts of reptiles both terrify and fascinate me. and the kid is too cute! i love his accent.

  • i was going for it until i saw the bottom half of that dress! the shoes might be cute except it looks like bugs got trapped in the plastic before it set, so they glued some on the sides of the shoe to complete the motif.

    • Kikishua

Absolutely my first thought too. “Are those ANTS on her shoes?”

  • Fire your makeup artist.

Seriously, is that Ben Nye pancake foundation?

  • Kelly Sowers

    Those shoes are heinous.

  • crash1212

That is a godawful dress paired with godawful stripper shoes. Go home and try again, missy. Also, you’d think that while they were altering the length, they might’ve addressed all the other fit issues here…wouldn’t have mattered though – see first sentence.

  • Rand Ortega

I imagine she’s what Jennifer Coolidge looked like in her early 20’s. She’s (Jennifer, too) quite gorgeous, her outfit coordinates very nicely, but the dresses construction doesn’t flatter her. It’s too tight at the hips & the panel at the bottom distracts from what little interest exists on top. Nice shoes. The clutch belongs w/ another outfit. That’s the 2nd time I’ve seen that today. SMH.

  • Jaeda Laurez

I don’t believe in clear heels unless you’re going to smell like Victoria’s Secret body spray and call yourself “Luscious” or “Cinnamon.”

I think the dress was a nice choice and the red of the bag was the right move, but I HATE plastic accessories.

    • MemHey

I am consistently appreciating your comments. They are thoughtful and generally putting my opinions in print in a more cohesive, straightforward way than I might express myself. Cheers!

      • Jaeda Laurez

Thanks! That’s a sweet thing to say 🙂

  • MilaXX

The dress is a bit aging on such a young gal & the shoes are pure fug.

    • ItsDicey

Completely agree. And couldn’t hate the shoes more.

  • Cameron Turner

    Those shoes… no words….

  • Trisha26

Working girl bodice and shoes, garden party skirt, hair & face. What was her stylist thinking?

  • Laurie Landry

It looks like Daisy Duke meets Barbie. Ucky, I don’t like any of it.

  • frannyprof

The Disney Channel/Nickelodeon girls are NOT doing well today. Debby’s dress is ill-fitting. The shoes are hiddy. The handbag doesn’t go. But it’s not as bad as fellow girl-star Miranda Cosgrove’s peplum nightmare.

    • Knowing the path ahead of them post Disney/Nickelodeon, I worry that fashion fails are going to be the very least of their worries.

  • frannyprof

She’s on Disney Channel. “Jessie.” I would know this because I have a 7 yr old who idolizes this girl.

  • Danielle L

Adorable! But the purse is making my eye twitch.

  • DilettanteDeconstructed

The purse looks like a novelty-size perfume bottle from a department store display window. And are those… thong stripper heels? Her face and hair are lovely though, and that light silvery blue color suits her.

  • quiltrx

I like the idea of the skirt portion, but it’s too long I think. And I don’t much care for the bodice.

    • siriuslover

I also like how she removed one set of the lattice on the bottom to make it a bit more tame (she is a Disney star, after all! ;)), but I don’t like generally the two layered bodices that give the illusion of a slip showing.

  • demidaemon

I think when she removed the vagina lattice she lost most of the interest here, as well as removing the majority of the seaming in the bodice. It’s kind of bland, except she wore a pair of WTF shoes. So, perfect for a Disney star?

  • Those shoes are hideous and she needs a bracelet.

  • Coleen

What’s with the shoes? Is this a dare between the Disney girls to wear the most cracked-out ensemble possible?

  • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

I love it. I even love the clear heels. I love the whole thing. My only gripe is that she needs to give the dress a tug downwards – it looks like she just got out of the car.

  • irielle

Omigoodness: has that young actress already had something done to her lips? I hope not.

  • andreawey

I thought we were going to see fish swimming around in those heels…..

    • sekushinonyanko

There are so many things wrong with those tacky, apparently plastic shoes.
