Beyonce in Gucci

Posted on June 03, 2013

Bey has another of her declarative style moments:

Beyonce attends ‘Chime For Change: The Sound Of Change Live’ Concert in London in head-to-toe Gucci.

Gucci Jane Open-Toe High-Heel Suede Bootie

That’s a loud-and-clear “Why don’t you bitches stop talking about whether I’m pregnant and go back to talking about how hot I am?”

We love the dress and, somewhat strangely, we feel like those shoes are designed specifically to only work on the feet of Knowles women, because can only see Solange pulling them off as well as Bey is here. We don’t know… it’s not an earth-shattering look or anything; but she’s heading into that J Lo level of knowing exactly how much diva to unleash at any given time.

Having said that, we don’t love the hair or makeup, but she was on stage that night, so it’s forgivable.

Now see, I love the retro hair and makeup. Dress is doing what it needs to do. Booties are loathsome.

    • MilaXX

The look is okay, but the hair/makeup remind me of old school original Destiny’s Child.

      • ashtangajunkie

Yes, exactly. It’s very ‘Bills, Bills, Bills.’

    • Jaeda Laurez

I don’t like it when she goes TOO blonde, and this is just a little too much for me, since that makes her look washed out. But I do like the dress and surprisingly, the boots. It’s a simple look that lets the print do the heavy lifting.
Also, I know that red lips are a “thing” now, but I’m so glad she didn’t go Ruby Woo like everybody else. This richer red suits her.

      • melisaurus

I agree. Also we all know that blonde hair isn’t her hair, so when it looks this damaged there’s no excuse.

    • Sobaika

I’m not loving the shoes (though they make sense for stage wear), but every single other bit is giving me life.

    • gabbilevy

Wearing a pretty but shapeless dress isn’t going to do ANYTHING to shut down the pregnancy chatter.

      • Darren Nesbitt

recently (last week maybe) a photo of her sitting on Jay-Zs lap drinking red wine in Europe showed up on her Instagram. I guess that was a passive way of saying “Would I do this If I was preggo?”.

    • majorbedhead

Well, I’ll be in the minority and say that I don’t like it. The shoes are making me twitch and the dress falls into that “If I can’t tell if it’s a shirt or not, it’s too short” category.

I dunno. I do like her lipstick color. Not sure it goes with this look, but it’s pretty.

I see it just the opposite. Nothing fuels speculation like a dress that does nothing but conceal the tummy area. She enjoys the speculation, it’s the Anniston PR play.

    • marlie

I love the dress, and I think her hair is Bey-tastic, I think the lipstick is too dark and I hate the shoes. But, she looks fab, overall. Also, not as desperately diva-tastic as JLo.

    • Donna Tabor

She is head-to-toe bronze, isn’t she?

    • mjude

i am over the style of shoes she is wearing. so heavy & clunky looking for summer. do. not. like.

    • Eric Stott

On stage that hair would be just fine. She looks very artificial, but in a good way.

    • Agatha Guilluame

She has pores? What. Has she cut/shaved down one side (right before and above her ear where it’s parted)? Or is that just breakage…

      • http://twitter.com/Glam_Dixie Glam Dixie

I think the hair you are referring to is tucked behind her ear.

    • http://twitter.com/Glam_Dixie Glam Dixie

Her makeup looks so thick it may leave cracks if she smiles and I hate those shoes. Dress is shapeless, mermaid hair, it all adds up to a no for me.

    • Annarosa

I like the look but the make up makes her look older. Just to say.

    • Jessica Freeman

This is perfect Bey. Not a fan of the lipstick shade.

    • Monzerrat Ontiveros

Way too muck paint on her face

    • Little_Olive

I am displeased with everything going on with her hair, from the part to the fried straightening to the violent decoloration.

Also, and I really don’t mean to be mean, looks like she shaved her legs the day before.

    • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gaby

I kind of wish she’d switch back to a darker hair color, because I’m bored with the blond (also, for some reason it just shrieks “early 2000s” to me). She does a good job keeping her dye-job from looking fried (especially compared to some white celebs – LOOKING AT YOU, GOOPY PALTROW), but I’m just bored with it, and here in particular it looks a little draggy and trashy; would love to see her with a deep auburny brown closer to her natural hair color.

I love the lipstick though, I think it perfectly punctuates this look. It’s the blond highlights that are ruining an otherwise perfect look for me.

      • sekushinonyanko

It’s easy to avoid having fried hair when you normally appear with fake hair.

    • AnneElliot

The deep lipstick and Veronica Lake hair in the last shot are giving me a very 1940s vibe. If only her roots didn’t make me so sad. . .

    • Anniebet

She’s one of those beauties that are better seen from a distance. The overall look is better than the parts, so to speak.

    • http://asskickingadviser.com/ Ass Kicking Adviser

Can’t we outlaw mermaid hair as well as cocker spaniel hair?

    • Mirakel9

Hair too light, lips too dark, shoes are just ugly. And the dress….not really doing much for her figure, I think. It’s like a sparkly sack! Other than that, she looks great!

    • kimiakay

Wow, when I first saw the thumbnail I thought she was Rita Ora. But I too like this look, except for the mermaid hair.

    • demidaemon

I despise the shoes. The rest of the look is cute though.

    • leave_Blake_alone

I don’t think I’ve ever disagreed with you more. This dress absolutely screams “I’m pregnant!” It’s a pretty but shapeless sack, perfect for hiding a mini bump (or burrito lunch) if you had to.

I’m not saying she is pregnant, but this dress is only going to increase that speculation. Which was maaaaybe the point.

    • prettybigkitty

      It’s Rita Ora-ish. Just, too. . . too.

      • Erica_Vuitton

That’s exactly what I was going to say – she jacked Rita’s hair and makeup.

        • SurvivorSunshine

She can’t help it. I swear she’s obsessed with that girl nowadays. I want the old Bey back!

    • Imasewsure

I really am not a fan of her style at all. This one is ok (but not the hair and makeup as noted by our dear Uncles)

    • jmorino08

There is no excuse for those roots! And I will never be convinced that it’s a “fashion statement.” Bitches just be too busy to get their hair dyed. And I get that! I have gone weeks past my own roots’ expiration date, but then again I don’t have hair people at my beck and call. Beyonce, we all know you’re black under that blonde hair, you don’t have to prove it!

      • sekushinonyanko

It would have at least been mitigated if she picked a dye job that allowed that to look intentional, like ombre or balayage.

    • conniemd

To me there’s nothing wrong with a simple shift type shape to a dress if the material is strong enough to carry the look. Not every dress has to have “fashion” details in order to look expensive.

    • Jeff Warhurst

I think this is a head to toe fail.

    • http://profiles.google.com/sauchih Sau-Chih Feng

Her legs need to be doused in oil and lotions
