Anne Hathaway on the “Song One” Set

Posted on June 25, 2013

We can’t hate:

Anne Hathaway seen on the set of her new movie ‘Song One’ in New York City.

Sometimes, she just looks like a movie star. Even in a cute little dress that almost anyone could own and a ratty pair of canvas flats.

You think that’s her costume or her day wear? We’re going with costume. It’s a really cute dress, no?

    I thought the same thing!

except that back shot…doesn’t quite flatter her. At first I didn’t like the new hair color, but dangit Anne- that smile got me liking it, and like you….after sitting a moment, curious. Maybe we are back to the old Anne (I) fell in love with, Ella Unchanted, those princess movies, etc…

  • BP180

I have come full circle and I’m back to loving her. (Although I never got aaaaaaallll that sick of her.)

    • drdarke

Thank the gods and goddesses she’s not a suicide blonde any more, @BP180:disqus !

Never hated her – OTOH, never really liked her a great deal either. She’s a pretty widgeon who had a spot of bad luck with her former fiance, but she seems to doing okay now – oh, and she got an Oscar, which will brighten any girl’s day!

  • norseofcourse

She looks cute and happy, and, as a fellow fair-skinned gal, I appreciate a good sunbrella on a hot summer day.

  • You know how a lot of folks seriously hate Julia Roberts? I am getting that whole feeling with AnnE. She is fine, there’s nothing all that offending about her, but she rubs some folks wrong and not everyone loves a toothy smile. I like Julia, and I am tepid about Anne, but at least she doesn’t grate my nerve or have a spot on my Irrational Hate List.

    • marlie

And some people hate Sandra Bullock that way, too. Oddly enough, I love all three of those ladies.

      • Kate Andrews

I really don’t understand why anyone would hate Sandra! Especially after Jesse James was so awful to her. I’ll always root for her, and yes, that means I want better than that laser-cut leather dress for her. Yuck.

        • OrigamiRose

I love Sandra, and every time I see her with Louis and he’s sporting a Batman or Superman costume, my shrunken Grinch heart gets a few sizes bigger.

      • drdarke

I’m fine with all three of those women – my irrational hatreds are reserved for Gary Oldman and Benedict Cumberbatch, though given I don’t like either of their’s Ac-TING! I don’t consider it in the least “irrational”….

        • Claudia

The Cumber-collective shall now come for you…
***I AM joking in case anyone starts to feel concern for drdarke…***
…unless, of course, they DO come for him. Cumberbitches be crazy.

          • drdarke

@disqus_MtZmen7Q56:disqus – if you find me face down in an abandoned warehouse, covered in nicotine patches with the word “FANBOI” written in blood on the wall…. You’ll know who to ask first, won’t you?

Indifferent to Anne, Irrationally HATE Julia, like Sandra.

    • Sunraya

Julia Roberts supposedly is a real prima Donna. My friend cut her hair and the whole time she pretended to be a local bartender, even when the guy came with her borrowed jewels. She is always moaning about fame, and its travails. I say, “Hey, Julia, you should have been a dental hygienist then! Stand on your feet all ay, and make 1/1000th of what you make.” Breaks my heart.

Anne seems like a lovely person, and I just really like Sandra B. I reserve my dislike for Gwynnie, Angelina and now Reese.

  • marlie

    I want that dress!!

    • Mary Lauer

I was gonna post the exact same thing!

    • Yes I want to know too.

    • Annarosa

If you want EXACTLY that one, I can’t help you. But I’m sure Mango (the shop, not the fruit) sells something very similar.

  • Annarosa

I’m happy you guys can’t hate ’cause I’ve a similar dress (but cuter) and I’m going to wear it tomorrow paired with L.K.Bennet red Shilos!

  • This movie costars my favorite musician in the world, Johnny Flynn, and therefore I have to find some shred of something to like about her in order to not want to slay myself in anger.

    This helps. Thanks, TLo.

  • hughman

“MOM! It’s NOT RAINING. Jeesh, why you gotta be so DORKO?”

  • MilaXX

Cute dress, my vote is costume.

  • crash1212

Now we know how she stays so creamy pale! Love the dress, hate the shoes.

  • random_poster

    Very cute dress!

  • Tom Shea

I love the dress! It’s got a celluloid look to it that is very interesting.

  • OrigamiRose

She’s looking very Audrey Hepburn-esque. My awards season hatred is waning…

  • plinkiedoodle

    Ho hum. I’m not converted.

  • alyce1213

She annoys me big time, but I gotta admit she looks terrific — that is a really charming dress. I’d love to wear it.
As far as I’m concerned, espadrilles are the perfect shoe for this type of summer dress. Love from head to toe.

    • Ditto, I love espadrilles.

  • decormaven

Darling dress, and good attitude to boot. Thumbs up.

  • Coveting that dress – it looks so perfectly fresh for a summer day. She seems to be doing pretty well growing out her pixie too (I assume that’s why it’s so long on top, anyway – as far as I’ve understand you want to grow out the top first and then grow out the bottom to prevent mullet hair – someday I might give up my pixie and experience this, but not for a while).

  • Danielle L

    Love those sunglasses.

  • JasmineAM

    I reeeeeeeeeeeeally hate her hair.

  • Cindy Walker

I dig her dress….but love her water bottle. Does anyone know what kind it is?

  • cowper

Would be even cuter with a pair of red ballet flats!

  • AnneElliot

That’s adorable. And what a great smile! I’ve never understood the hate. Sure, she was campaigning hard for that Oscar, but don’t all of them? Well, maybe not Meryl, but she has so many damn awards she must lose count. She’s nothing as annoying as Gwyneth Paltrow, whom I used to like but now rationally hate since her annoying website and “Most Beautiful Woman in the World” Award.

  • It took me a long, long time, but the hair is finally working for me. CUTE!

  • Anniebet

    Ah, she’s back.

  • ailujailuj

so – it’s ok to wear a bumbershoot in nyc? I’m envious.

    • AViewer44

Bumbershoot! Thanks for reminding me if that wonderful word. (And of course it’s okay, especially as we’ve had a ton of rain lately.)

  • Claudia

I HATE those espadrilles or whatever they’re called. Apart from those, however, she looks mega cute.

  • I love that dress! Sure, it’s not the most amazing dress ever, but it’s something I could own and wear, and lots of women with lots of shapes could. My hips do not support those crazy tight, thin jeans, but this – I could sport. And she looks cute. Plus, I love umbrellas used to protect skin from the sun!

  • bertkeeter

Her umbrella is broken…I mean really?

  • so is everyone carrying umbrellas against the sun these days in nyc? i seem to see a lot of them. but why are we not seeing some pretty parasols, not these old raggedy black things. ann’s looks pretty broke down.

  • chowwander

    Nice TARDIS dress, Anne.

  • DuBey2

Love that smile. Her best accessory by far. Also love this cut for her hair, but I’m figuring its for the character, so I don’t know if she’ll carry it over into “real life”

  • Samuel Joesph Donovan

That’s my friend Erica’s butt in that last photo!
