She will never not look amazing. Wow.

    • stephbellard

Clearly she bathes in unicorn blood and cherub spunk because the woman never ages and her skin is ALWAYS flawless.

  • Mismarker

    Breathtaking.

  • Lattis

If we had a queen in this country – she should look like Angela Bassett in this dress.

    • Darren Nesbitt

Hopefully post-presidency MO will go all out like this.

      • Rand Ortega

Even if she runs for the Senate, which she’s rumored to be considering?

        • Darren Nesbitt

Aw, I hoped she would go out of the public eye (professionally) and be able to wear amazingly expensive ball gowns to private charity events. If she becomes a senator does that mean pants and jackets all the time? :( . . . But I would love if she became a senator.

          • Rand Ortega

Well, not all the time : ) Mrs. Obama was a successful attorney before becoming 1st Lady. Part of being that successful in a high profile firm means dressing the part. I’m sure she will incorporate the incredible style that she learned in her past into where she’s headed in the future. Which I hope will someday entail being a running mate for an awesome presidential candidate like Elizabeth Warren or Corey Booker or Andrew Cuomo.

I would never mention to her that I feel as if she should have selected a less busy earring, I am afraid she’d stomp my ass. Amazingly fierce.

    • Mismarker

Hilarious. Exactly what I was thinking. Exactly.

    • kim bunchalastnames

oops. would you believe i didn’t even see them? that’s how great she looks. BUT. now that you’ve pointed them out, ya — take the dangly parts off and it would be just about right.

    • SassieCassy

naw. she needed that bamf earring because of the strapless neckline and short hair.

i woulda ditched the cuff tho

      • Sobaika

I agree with this! But I’d be onboard with the jewelry in general if it matched the more pewter color on her dress.

  • barbarienne

I wanna be Angela Basset when I grow up.

    • http://asskickingadviser.com/ Ass Kicking Adviser

      Me too friend, me too…

  • Kimberlini

She looks gorgeous – love her hair! But the earrings AND the cuff are too much. I’d lose the earrings given the bodice.

  • Annarosa

    I see perfection here.

  • marlie

She looks GORGEOUS. I love this color. The earrings are a bit over the top, but it’s a minor quibble, considering how radiant she looks here!

  • Chuck Barthelme

    She is so fierce.

  • Clueless_Jock

She’s so regal and effortlessly beautiful.

  • bxbourgie

I am living for all of this perfection.

  • kim bunchalastnames

BAM. that’s how you do it.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=49702581 Susan Bullard Mayer

I have to give this a not-quite-there. Gorgeous dress, gorgeous color, but the bodice is flattening her chest.

  • poggi

The model has to contort herself and have a wind machine at her disposal and Angela still has her beat in the fierce department just standing there and smiling. I do agree with previous posters that the earrings are a little too much but she still looks totally amazing.

  • ccinnc

Gorgeous. And she makes me want to start lifting weights again. What a perfect upper body.

    • marlie

      Right?! Those arms are amazing.

  • Celeste

    Just gorgeous!!!

  • Jaeda Laurez

I love this woman in all her cocoa buttery glory. Whew lawd.

  • eowyn_of_rohan

Jaw-droppingly gorgeous. And I love, love, love that her hubby won last night. They’re both so talented.

    • marlie

I’ve long been a fan of both of them. SO glad he won, too!

  • MilaXX

    LOVE HUH! She looks fantastic!

  • Hetha Innis

I love her, and she is stunning, BUT, her face looks pretty drastically different in these pics. Hmm….

    • OrigamiRose

My first reaction was to wonder why she was wearing a Jada Smith mask.

  • ReallyNow

Get in to her skin! Flawless.

  • http://twitter.com/yessveee Sarah V.

    1. She HAS to have had work done on her face. It’s not nearly as dimensional as it was before.
    2. Prom dress.

  • Tanya Wade

I thought Angela and Patina Miller were going to havr a bicep off. Because everybody wins that one.

  • VioletFem

She looks stunning! I’m going to assume (AKA will not accept any other explanation) that this pic is on the Whiteboard because T&Lo were simply left speechless.

  • ConnieBV

    BITCH DON’T AGE.

  • jkatkins

How about a WERQ for Miss Angela?

  • merciblahblah

My favorite part is how she appears to be transporting Lil Orphan Annie on her shoulder.

Second favorite part? How frigging STUNNING her face is.

    Third? Her arms. DUH.

  • librarygrrl64

GORGEOUS dress, good choice for her, but I feel like the jewelry is competing a bit too much.

  • River

Adore her. And she looks STUNNING.

  • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ foodycatAlicia

Amazing! And even better when I realised that she wasn’t wearing a black cape…

    • MaggieMae

Ha! I’m glad I wasn’t the only one! Such relief there was no cape involved.

  • Mrs. Julien

    WERQ!

  • Anniebet

I kinda adore Ms. Bassett and love this dress on her. She could have toned the bling down a bit, especially the earrings.
But who cares? Too much gorgeousness to nitpick.

  • nannypoo

Very beautiful. The earrings are a bit much, but otherwise it’s perfect.

  • TAGinMO

Great color, and overall a really good head-to-toe look. But something seems a little “off” to me with the…what would you call it, a bust-plate?

  • SpillinTea

Work done or not, bitch is 54 and could still pass for 30. #BlackDontCrackWERQ!

  • GorgeousThings

Best dress of the evening. She’s gorgeous.

  • http://twitter.com/#!/Space_Kitty Space Kitty

    DAMN she looks good.

  • Nonmercisansfacon

    DAYUM. Weeq it Mrs Bassett.

  • jw_ny

Angela looks fantastic, but the cuff and earrings should have stayed home…

  • Darren Nesbitt

“I got a room full of people, who come to see me. You hear me Ike? Come to see me. So what do you wanna do? I don’t know, shoot me? Pistol whip me?… Umm hmm.” – Bassett as Tina Turner

    • SpillinTea

As Mr. Fishburne is fond of saying, “Angie B is a bad mutha…”

  • demidaemon

Oh, her poor breasts. I truly feel for them. OUCH.

  • Rand Ortega

    Goddess. Full frakkin’ stop.

  • http://thishotoldbroad.blogspot.com/ Sara Leigh Merrey

She looks fabulous. That’s a great color for her.

  • kimiakay

Simply beautiful. Another lady who doesn’t age, and the glow on her face reflects her happiness I think. What a great color for her. Jewelry is a bit overdone, but it doesn’t detract. Perfect.

  • stephbellard

This woman is gorgeous, extremely talented, knows how to work a red carpet AND a Yale graduate. The only reason she doesn’t have a bigger career is because Hollywood doesn’t know what to do with over-30 actresses and even worse if they’re black.

  • Damien W

She is stunning in just about anything, but I’m not sold on that wrestling championship belt that is holding her titzens hostage. Has it made its demands known?

  • Terri Terri

She is beautiful, but this makes her chest look very strange. Looks like a male weightlifters chest, not a woman’s bosom.

  • http://asskickingadviser.com/ Ass Kicking Adviser

Gorg – and her man won. What a couple. The rest of us should just give up.

  • LaSylphide

Love the dress, but I would have kept the bracelet, worn the ring on the other hand, and gone for much smaller earrings; maybe diamond studs. There are just too many things competing with that bodice for attention. She’s beautiful, though.

  • carpediva

The fabulous Ms. Bassett relegated to the Whiteboard; I can’t lie, it bums. But I admit I’ve always felt she’s never gotten her due, so I could be overly shoulder chippy!

ETA: Damn you to hell Disqus and your double posting WTFery! Sorry folks!

  • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

God DAMN. I would run across traffic for that woman and I don’t like girls that way!

  • macwell

This woman STAYS beautiful, elegant, strong, and classy. She could wear a burlap sack and still make it look hot. Really though. Love her.

  • bd73

the earrings are kinda large considering that chest decor, otherwise just fabulous. great color, style, and she has such an amazing physique. i’ve never known a toned day in my life, fat or skinny. how does she do it?

  • quiltrx

Man, she is gorgeous–always positively glowing.
And I must confess to total coveting of that bracelet…even though my chunky wrist would likely never fit!

  • e jerry powell

As long as she’s not trying to work that model’s pose…

  • Diego!

Mmmm I don’t know… her hair and make up are flawless… BTW, she should play Halle Berry’s older sister or mother in a movie. Both have the same hair cut! :P

  • H2olovngrl

Damn, she looks good. She is such a girl crush for me. Love Her!

  • Fred Vaughn

No crass s#!t on Ms. Bassett (as usual)!

  • MartyBellerMask

Oh, Angela Bassett. The arms that started them all. I salute you.
Obviously, she’s doing everything right. Because WOW.
