UGH! I liked this until I saw the torso was sheer. Why Zoe, why?

      • MoHub

Ek-zackly! I’d adore this if it were lined, but the translucency just makes it look tacky. Otherwise, it’s very Erté, and that’s a good thing.

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

Also, less ruffles and a better color, and shoes. Basically, she needs a new dress.

      • http://twitter.com/jennsaysmeow Fifi LaRoux

This was my exact thought, too!!

      • jmorino08

My thoughts exactly! Who is telling these lady stars that they look anything other than tacky in these sheer nightmares?!

      • http://twitter.com/RaankyRaank Raanky

This is sweet and cute in the same way that K-mart is trendy…

    • Andrew Schroeder

      Flayed fish.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000905542323 Rhonda Shore

      What a schmatte!

    • AlisonS

Wow…. that’s just…. No. Go home and try again.

    • Diego!

I can’t believe I’m typing this, but it’s an OUT to me :(

    • Brittney Puyau

Hair and makeup look great. The dress…not so much.

    • maygoon

      Three words: tacky, tacky, tacky.

    • Sobaika

      Too nekkid.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=149100065 Virginia McMurdo

      Blaaaaah-zers.

      • sekushinonyanko

It’s impressive managing to have a dress that is both blah and bizarre.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=49702581 Susan Bullard Mayer

      Oh honey, no.

    • Rand Ortega

NO. NO. NO! You make fashion & Trek nerds cry, Zoe.

    • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

And the downward spiral continues. This has not been a very successful pole dance, in my humble opinion.

      • sojourneryouth

Right? I’m thinking Nina Simone’s family is bribing her stylist as part of their revenge plot. Can’t really say I blame them.

        • Rand Ortega

          Heh.

        • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

In a recent interview, she says (paraphrasing) that if Liz Taylor can play Cleopatra, she can play Nina. I don’t know how to process that. On one hand, she has a point. On the other, the industry is a bit more diverse now and there is a much larger talent pool to cast from. Why any actress would go after a bio role is beyond me, it leaves them wide open to the harshest of criticisms.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

      Now thats just crazy, Zoe.

    • Little_Olive

That is a very ugly combination of already heinous fabrics in one of the worst colors of the spectrum. No.

    • Clueless_Jock

      Needs granny panties.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=149100065 Virginia McMurdo

I really don’t know if I’m on point, but I feel the ruffles are a bit too passé for me. They have to be done just so….. I see them and think about gals going to prom in 2007ish.

    • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Hate this color on her. And I have only one word for the dress design. Vulgar.

    • Patricia Gillett

      Ugh, I’m not sure that’s anyone’s dress.

      • Meg0GayGuys6

Yea, after seeing this, I definitely thought it warranted a Girl, This is No One’s Dress!

    • gabbilevy

Zoe you’re hot, but this is fugly. Even on you, dear.

    • carnush

Not for a movie premiere. Maybe for a night out in the Caribbean. Or something.

      • http://twitter.com/marieldrucker Marie Drucker

        Sleeping?

      • MRussell

Nope, even we don’t want that dress.

        • Adriana_Paula

          We most certainly don’t.

    • nannypoo

      Holy shit.

    • Qitkat

I’m so sorry to see that Zoe had to walk through a crime scene to get here.

    • Angela_the_Librarian

Sewn-together dirty dishrags (with some that are especially threadbare)

    • SewingSiren

Because she is beautiful the dress would be okay IF it were lined completely. Just the bottom half lined is so – nonsense. cheap. mistake. I think even she is put off by it, at least a little.

    • CaTobes

Love the shoes and that’s about it. She looks pretty exhausted to me. Come on makeup minions…do your thing!

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1145236287 Celeste Copeland

No one that young should have such serious eye bags. Get some sleep, darling.

    • stellamaris73

OMG. I did a double-take at the model photo– could have sworn the poor girl was flashing her vadge.

“Color of old bras” and a shapeless mess.

      • Beardslee

And look how the skirt was getting caught up between her legs as she walked down the runway. How is that a good look? How did that design flaw survive?

      • Adriana_Paula

I found myself staring at the model’s region like I did in that scene from Let the Right One In. So that’s not good.

        • jetpackdino

          Oh Lord. True.

    • http://twitter.com/foodycatAlicia foodycatAlicia

It’s not often I long for a sheer overlay but dear god I wish this sheer was overlaying something other than skin.

    • Anniebet

PR 5th place, losing dress. Nice hair, and she followed the “lips or eyes” rule. Can’t say much else. Oh, yeah… hate the shoes.

    • luluransom

Errr, how did this look attain even Whiteboard status?

    • NYCGlamourpuss

Oh, girl, no. A rare misstep for Our Miss Zoe. Just wrong from head to toe.

    • eandh99

I’m trying to look on the bright side, since I love Zoe – at least the dress isn’t entirely sheer, as it was on the runway, at least she’s not wearing even uglier shoes with ANKLE SOCKS, and her hair and makeup look lovely. But yeah, when Chris Pine is prettier than you on the red carpet, you need to think about your choices.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000393765005 Garcia Loca

I see Zoe took away the only interesting points of this dress (leggings and the glimpse of coochie) and kept the crazy-for-the-sake-of-crazy ones, like craft store fabrics, raggedy lines, and belly-button peekaboo. What a disservice to those exquisite shoes.

    • minnye

Style-wise, Zoe has not been hitting her usual high marks lately. Besides that, she’s looking harsh. Like Jada Pinkett harsh.

    • lrhg

Zoe I love you but you are NAKED.

    • tereliz

Okay, now she’s just fucking with us, right?

    • Rrroza

Despite this having all kind of features I generally dislike (lack of color, sheer torso, flounces,…) I think it looks great on her, and the only thing I dislike here is her lipstick color. I know I’m in the infintesimal minority. It’s really a terrible dress. But she’s working it. She’s almost otherworldly and she dazzles me.

    • http://profiles.google.com/anplica Anplica Fiore

Zoe…I hate to break this to you, but it appears your skin is falling off. You might want to have that looked at…

    • http://twitter.com/q0rt Courtney Stanton

That dress looks like stretch marks.

    • http://twitter.com/kerryev kerryev

      Love her, hate this.

    • http://twitter.com/MajorBedhead MajorBedhead

      Miss Havisham’s negligee.

    • PastryGoddess

      Yeah..No

Even a PhD level fashion wearer cannot make this look good. Zoe honey, please pack this up and send it to the nearest incinerator ASAP.

    • fursa_saida

So not the point, but a while ago when she was featured here we got to talking about her tattoos. This is almost definitely Arabic, but either I’m reading something very wrong (script’s real blurry) or there’s a major mistake in it. Oh, Zoe, I thought you were wiser than to get a tattoo in a language you don’t speak without at least consulting something more than Google Translate. (Actually, Google Translate probably wouldn’t make this mistake. Who the hell did she talk to?)

    • jetpackdino

It’s sick, it’s wrong, but I can’t hate it. She is posing the hell out of it and I admire her nude ferocity.

    • SugarSnap108

Finally. Evidence that she is human, and not actual magic.

    • mrspotts66

      it looks like a nightie.

    • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gaby

So she’s fierce enough to almost make this work, but it’s a boob ruffle over a sheer (zebra-striped?!) midriff in a long dress in the color of an old bra. I can’t sign off on this, but she’s working the hell out of what she was handed. Snaps for putting that Ph.D in fabulous to hard work. She looks like she should be a prairie hooker from the Heart of Gold episode of Firefly, so I’m going to say it’s right for the venue and it’s a solid effort. But not a pretty dress to begin with – she could have done so much better with something actually pretty.

      • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

I already hated it, but when you listed all of this dress’ attributes, it sounds even worse. The dress is still hiddy, though.

        • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gaby

Application of TLo rule of listing the elements of a garment to realize just how ridiculous it is: CHECK! ;)

    • Katie Riley

I love Zoe Saldana, but this looks like what Ariel from the little mermaid would wear if she were a prostitute.

    • LaSylphide

Too many ruffles, too much belly button, too baggy around the middle. The shoes are fierce, and at least she didn’t wear the leggings, but otherwise…eeeeuuuuwwwww.

    • Jessi03

      Je suis confuse.

    • frannyprof

Okay, if Ms. Zaldana’s wearing an unflattering dress, it must officially be a thing. Ugh.

    • In_Stitches

My initial reaction was: Terrible, Awful, Tasteless. Upon a second and third viewing, I’m coming around…ergo, she must be a sorceress because there is nothing redeeming about this dress.

    • Judy_S

OK, I will put a word in which is that I actually like the sheer torso on her. I have difficulty imagining many other women looking even OK in this, but she has the right kind of aplomb.

    • http://twitter.com/acleg10 AC Simons

      Fredericks of Hollywood.

    • http://twitter.com/UberChicADee Diana Giese

If I saw this on the rack, I’d hate it. But she’s pulling it off like gangbusters. Love it on her. However, I also don’t think I’d love it on anyone else…

    • Tatiana Luján

I love the head and the feet. What a horrible dress.

    • snarkykitten

da fuq am I looking at?

    • http://marshmallowjane.com/ marshmallowjane

      What a cute nightgown.

    • ballerinawithagun

Rodarte takes cheap curtains from Walmart and tries to make a dress.

Those leggings on the model are frightening!

    • Colleen

      Go home, you’re drunk.

    • http://www.facebook.com/sarah.souffriau Sarah Souffriau

      Heeeeell no!

    • quiltrx

It’s pretty nightgown-y, isn’t it? And the sheerness veers it into tacky-town for me. I don’t think the shoes relate to the dress at all.

    • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

That dress is hideous. Easily the fugliest thing she’s ever put on her body. It looks better on her than it does on the model, but it still needs to be burned.

But her hair and makeup look great. She should keep the shoes, and build a fierce look around them.

    • http://www.facebook.com/jackie.atkins.31 Jackie Atkins

I think we need to quote Mr. Takei on this one: ooohhh myyyy!

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=745465637 Nellie Wilson

I’ll take care of your shoes while you go home and change, young lady!

    • susan6

This is a near-impossible dress to work, but she’s close to pulling it off. I think I actually like the sheer midriff….it’s just subtle enough to not be vulgar. However, what I don’t like is the constant fear that I’m going to see her left underboob. (Seriously Zoe, don’t even think about slouching at any time.) That top ruffle needs to be longer.

    • lucyloo222

2 words come to mind: skanky nightie.

    • Ediths_Head

I didn’t know Frederick’s of Hollywood made gowns! Love the shoes, though.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1241487378 Lauren Lynch Fox

      Looks like a night gown

    • appliquer

Um, no. Love the bangle, however.

    • conniemd

I kinda like the sheer over the stomach. Change the color and get rid of the ruffles, which give a negligee look and there is potential. But as it is. Ugh.

    • E. D.

      LOVE everything but the dress.

    • Erica_Vuitton

This is so ugly I feel personally offended I was forced to view it.

    • unbornfawn

This looks more appropriate for the bedroom, all that sheer fabric. And that color on her? NO.

    • bd73

ugh. see-thru belly? terrible idea. and she’s not exempt from the dresses-that-match-your-skin edict. nice shoes.

    • PeaceBang

Remind me again why she is considered a fashion icon?

    • MemHey

This is what ladies wore under their dresses before spanx – it’s called a full slip. A dress goes over top – this is not a dress itself. I feel compassion for her, like no one told her she came out of the ladies’ room with her underwear showing…

    • BrooklynBomber

Oh, my God, that dress is one of the worst pieces of crap I’ve ever seen.

    • ankali

Guys, what is up with her? I have actively disliked probably her last 4 looks, and I don’t want to live in a world where I have to worry about whether Zoe Saldana will get it right.

    • demidaemon

This is a bathing suit cover-up to me. Why you got to be so tacky, Miss Saldana?

    • CommentsByKatie

I want to like this because I like weird fashion, I like Zoe, and I LOVE chiffon, but this is just sad-looking. The juxtoposition of the delicate chiffon drapes and the sheer zebra panels is just so jarring and strange. Ugh.

      • CommentsByKatie

AND OMG the giant white zipper up the side, I just noticed that. My eyes. This is close to a Worst Ever for me.

    • TheAmericaness

I swear the people seated behind the model look pissed she walked by in that thing.

    • embers618

It looks like she accidentally threw her nightgown in the was with the bedskirts, and this is what came out. Cute shoes, though.

    • Louise Bryan

That’s a tease for nudity. Really, Zoe?

    • Gwyndall

The cut out on the shoe looks like a silhouette of Jack in the Box.

    • librarygrrl64

      Ick, no. Awful dress.
