She looks like a pretty teapot, and that’s a good thing.

    • TSkot

      Beautiful, head to toe.

      The bodice looks too tight.

      • Kat

I think it has to be to keep that enormous skirt up! It can’t even rest on the floor!

      • http://marshmallowjane.com/ marshmallowjane

I think the waist is a a bit long on her, so it wrinkles where she bends (because it’s so tight).

      • oekmama

Agree. There could’ve been a bit of ease on the top, despite the structural considerations. Other than that, she looks lovely and the dress is beautiful. I would’nt mind a teapot with this design.

    • misstressofsylar

thank you for featuring her. she’s beautiful.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

Now that is fantastic. Love it .

    • AlisonS

Fit issues aside, she is serving up some Scarlet O’Hara Realness. Love it all.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100004649880141 Toncy Dunlop

The bodice looks too tight :(

    • notterriblybitter

She has the most gorgeous hair. I love the dress; it suits her perfectly.

      • misstressofsylar

        she’s my new hair goddess!

    • http://twitter.com/foodycatAlicia foodycatAlicia

Wow. She’s a real life Disney Princess! So very pretty. Bodice doesn’t fit properly and it looks like the necklace clashes a bit (are they carnelians?) but the overall impression is a knockout.

      • aeb1986

i agree. im seeing a little bit of the little mermaid in that hair

      • misstressofsylar

the necklace is from the family business. cant blame her for promoting but they could have given her a better option

        • http://twitter.com/foodycatAlicia foodycatAlicia

She should have chosen a better dress to go with the necklace! That’s really interesting about the family business.

          • misstressofsylar

it’s by Sunita Kapoor, her mom

      • drdarke

Her Daddy, Anil Kapoor (SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE, MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: GHOST PROTOCOL), will be delighted to hear you think so, @foodycatAlicia! If you want to see her as an actress, check out AISHA (CLUELESS set among the Indian upper class) or I HATE LUV STORYS ( Bollywood rom-com also starring Imran Khan, about two people in the Indian film industry with wildly opposing views on Bollywood romantic movies who fall for each other).

I absolutely LOVE THIS DRESS! She looks fantastic!

    • fringebenefit

      exquisite

    • Julia Dunne

Adore this frock, and she’s lovely, but, oy, who fitted the top? Looks painful.

    • Sobaika

Not crazy about the length, but she looks beautiful, lively, and chic.

    • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

Enviable as that mane of gorgeous hair is, it’s not hiding the oh-so-tightness of the bodice. And that pains me, because that is an epic dress and we could have been crying WERQ.

    • http://twitter.com/stellaphone Stella Zawistowski

Princess Jasmine’s hair, Sleeping Beauty’s wardrobe. AND I LOVE IT.

    • IAmJ

She’s gorgeous and so is the gown, aside from minor issues with the fit. The shoes, however, were one step too far.

      • CommentsByKatie

LOL at the shoes. They are hideously tacky and yet somehow perfectly appropriate at the same time. I like them, even though I know I shouldn’t!

    • http://twitter.com/MajorBedhead MajorBedhead

      LOvely.

    • AmeliaEve

Is there a special name for that armpit muffin top you get when a strapless top doesn’t right? UGH.

      • Pennymac

        Pit puppies….

    • http://www.facebook.com/CameronETurner Cameron Turner

Is she using her hair as a stole? Move the hair so we can see that pretty dress!

    • tereliz

A size up, maybe? Too bad, this gown is a dream and I love the bodice. Would look amazing if it fit correctly. :(

      • P M

        It’s supposedly custom. Supposedly.

        • http://twitter.com/TereKirkland Tere Kirkland

          Maybe it’s supposably custom. :(

    • Sara__B

The bodice is too tight and the over-one-shoulder hair is too contrived, but it’s a beautiful eye-catching look for Cannes none the less.

      • TheAmericaness

I think she has the hair over the one shoulder so as to only have to show one ill-fitted too tight side.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=13805908 Kelly Sowers

The print is gorgeous. Though, the bust looks a little weird, and kind of like she knows it, hence the hair…

    • mhleta

A tad snug, but otherwise, a perfect marriage of person and dress. The cascading hair is a beautiful compliment. Beautiful.

    • http://twitter.com/omg_dora Dora K.

The bodice looks strange but the skirt makes me happy.

    • lamamu

The dress and necklace are gorgeous, but, girl, put the hair away! It ruins an otherwise chic ensemble. I want to see more of the bodice and the borrowed bling.

    • Chris

One of the reasons I love this site is because it covers interesting celebrities from various countries wearing different designers. It’s so refreshing to see a Fan BingBing or a Sonam Kapoor featured instead of the same four pictures of Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon and Angelina Jolie used over and over. Sonam is lovely and looks as exuberant as her dress.

    • fringebenefit

in addition to exquisite dress, make-up is a work of art

    • http://robot-heart.tumblr.com heartbot

My favorite thing about Cannes is all the gorgeous Bollywood actresses making it onto my favorite fashion blogs!

    • Anniebet

I’m freaking out, that dress is so gorgeous. She’s stunning, but I wanna get out there with scissors and chop off that hair. It’s spoiling the view of the dress. Bowing down to D&G.

Oh dear, I just caught a glimpse of the shoes. Tsk.

    • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

The bodice of the dress is so tight that it looks like it hurts. But It’s really a gorgeous gown, and she looks beautiful. The length needs to be either a few inches shorter, or a few inches longer on her, though. Her hair and makeup are beautiful, but I wish her hair was back over her shoulder, just so that we can see more of the dress.

    • IMNAngryLiberal

If the bodice fit this would be a home run .. and it is still pretty spectacular. What is the opposite of scrolldown FUG?

    • Crystal

      DAMN she’s breathtaking.

    • jmorino08

If it’s pinching like that when she’s standing up, how is she going to sit down? I guess these are measly peasant worries, though. She probably has someone to sit for her.

    • alyce1213

Okay, this is custom? And the top doesn’t fit?
It’s so beautiful, she looks amazing, but the top us clearly cutting into her body!

    • nannypoo

She looks like a wedding cake, and in a good way.

    • http://marshmallowjane.com/ marshmallowjane

The print is a bit daring. I usually hate big prints, but these colors are subtle and beautiful. The dress works for me. I think it’s beautiful and so is she!

    • unbornfawn

Great look. And it is a good thing her hair is covering the front of that bodice because the fit at the tits looks pretty bad.

    • E. D.

Surprisingly I don’t hate it, although the top of that bodice is way too tight.

    • crash1212

I love everything about this look – except the fact that the bodice is waaaay too tight. It’s making me want to take deep breaths here in my comfy T-shirt.

    • elemspbee

      sister brought her own comforter!

    • http://twitter.com/Eovaai Eovaai

Beautiful. No other word for it.

    • BrooklynBomber

      Wow. Now, that’s a gown.

    • http://www.facebook.com/lee.r.frew Lee Rickards Frew

Pretty girl, having a great time, but she looks like she’s wearing an umbrella from the Botanic gardens.

    • NYCGlamourpuss

Wow… that is A LOTTA look! Between the print and the full huge skirt and the mermaid hair over one shoulder, it’s bordering on a full on Loretty look.

    • StrandedFashionista

In the last image it looks like she’s hovering over the red carpet, and that’s awesome.

    • pookiesmom

I’m surprised at all the love this is getting. She is a gorgeous human being, but this dress is a disaster. It looks like a toilet roll cover. It’s too tight in the bodice, weirdly long, heavy-looking, and seems like a blown-up version of quilt fabric my great grandma used.

    • MilaXX

Is she going to the cotillion? Shoes are all wrong unless she’s planing to lose one at midnight.

    • Cz

I want her eyebrows. And those shoes.

      The dress is just pretty.

    • quiltrx

INCREDIBLE. Full stop. It’s an Audrey dress and a Grace dress rolled into one. Which coming from me means it cannot get any more lovely.

    • CommentsByKatie

Omg I looooooove this. Reminds me of Kenley Collins in the best way possible.

    • Imasewsure

Love the dress.. . love her gorgeous hair…I just wish they weren’t together in the same look. Beautiful though

    • http://www.facebook.com/candice.booth.79 Candice Booth

She looks like a princess among princesses.

    • Buffy

That is all kinds of gorgeous

    • Aon9235

Now this is a great floral print. Love the dress, love the print.

    • barbarienne

What is with the hair? Why do I suspect that she or her stylist didn’t like how the bodice looked, so they decided to hide it?

She looks beautiful, but I’m a bit put off by the Disney Princess vibe.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100002718877231 Bert Keeter

Weird length? That dress costs like $25K …. Not sure a piñata is quite worth that much?

    • CupcakeKate

Leaving aside the fit issues – look at the amazing work as the skirt transitions to the bodice. They’ve made that big rose print in the center look like one continuous flower, even though the waistline seam goes right through the middle of it and the fabric goes from nearly parallel to the floor on the skirt to vertical on that very snug bodice. My very beginning sewing skills stand in awe.

      • Qitkat

It’s quite beautifully done, but I’m almost inclined to think that the rose at the waistline has been cut around (just the top half), with the rest of the flower still attached to the skirt fabric, and appliqued over the waistband, without a seamline running through it. If that’s the case, it is a really masterful concept. You can see in one closeup another rose that is cut off by the waistband.

    • MoHub

Love it, and it looks as if she does too.

Beautiful but boobies need to breathe!

      Fabulous.

      Gorgeous!

    • librarygrrl64

A few fit issues up top, but this is a GORGEOUS dress on a gorgeous woman, I love how happy she is to be wearing it, too. :-)
