Does she think that no facial powder is needed if the clothes and clutch are in that tone?

  • hughman

On the model : “artfully draped”

You know, this natural face biz is just not for everyone. This is probably the best she has every looked on the RC and it’s practically screams for a red lip. Hell, at this point any other lip color other than corpse would be an improvement. A little mascara wouldn’t hurt either.

      • MilaXX

but even without the shine, it’s just a bland face on top of a neutral outfit.

        • anotherkate

And the thing is, she could probably handle a LOT of war paint! Her coloring is striking enough to be able to carry off some really intense stuff, whether on the eyes or the lips. She IS naturally pretty, and the barefaced thing looks great for streetwear, but she could bring so much drama to the red carpet if only she chose to.

    • Make that the nude/natural face with no earrings. What’s wrong with earrings??

    • VeryClaire

I think it’s great that celebs are going without make up on the RC. A little bit of a natural look is refreshing. She certainly can get away with it.

      • MilaXX

But they aren’t going going without makeup. She has a face FULL of makeup, including lipstick. It’s just done in the so called “natural” look. A good natural face can be really pretty. Look at Lucy Lui’s in the next post. Olivia’s is just done very badly.

      • What MilaXX said. The trend right now is to have the makeup that the person is wearing LOOK like they’re not wearing any (and I don’t have a problem with that). This particular trend also seems to have said natural looking makeup all in one color from forehead to chin, which seems to be really
        unflattering on most women.

Also, TLo often talk about making sure that the clothes are appropriate for the setting; the same goes for the hair and makeup.

    • kmk05

Maybe it’s meant to be summer makeup, playing down everything but the ‘glowy dewy’ skin trend.

She really is one bland colour from top to bottom: the only thing working for her is her skin colour when she is photographed from the front. From the back, that old bra colour is not flattering at all.

      • MilaXX

She wears this bland look year round.

  • Color on the front of the dress, blech. Color on the back, okay. Not really loving the droop in the front. Just a meh look.

    • conniemd

I don’t understand why the bottom of the front has to be uneven. It just looks like a fashion mistake to have one side of the top higher than the other.

      • I know. I thought it was just sloppiness, but the runway version has the same thing. Stupid.

  • Another star with the no makeup trend. Sometimes it’s really needed… like this case.
The dress could have been shorter, that length has never been flattering,

    • The no-makeup look would be fine (sometimes) if it wasn’t paired with a dress that’s also the same color. I can’t understand why anyone would want to be a column of non-color from head to toe.

  • I’d like this a lot better on ms. Olivia if it were all the peach color of the back, and if the skirt wasn’t quite so tight. It’s pulling across her hips in a not flattering way. Of course if the dress were all peach, I’d like the clutch to be a spring green, or maybe robins eggshell blue. Also—lipstick!!

    • IMNAngryLiberal

I’d like it better if it were some other dress entirely.

  • Janet B

Gorgeous jewelry. The pinks are almost non-existent.

  • Nariya

I am so terminally bored by this lady’s clothing choices.

  • Rand Ortega

I’ve seen Earl Scheib paint jobs w/ less shine. Way too much beige.

  • MoHub

I was fine until she turned around.

  • stubbornthoughts

  • MGMcD

Why is she always so freakin SHINY??

    • Lori

She apparently doesn’t understand the difference between “dewy and youthful” and “greasy”. Strictly speaking junior high is “youthful”, but not in a good way.

  • All I’m getting is the trampy girl, who married up and now wants to appear conservative around her new crowd.

    • MK03

That’s pretty much what she is.

  • Kirsten Kirsten

All those glamourous bracelets and rings, and then no makeup?? I don’t get it.

  • demidaemon

I think this dress is just a miss from the front and a “hmm, interesting” from the back. But, generally, walking away dresses aren’t very appealing on the RC.

  • BrooklynBomber

I like the dress but here we are again with a dress that needs to be mid-knee, not mid-calf. What is happening to hemmers of Hollywood? Have they all been sent away?

  • MK03

    She looks terrible. Like, ill.

  • TheAmericaness

I’m confused. Is there a person standing there? All I see is a free-form dress that looks like it’s modeling alone.

  • Pterodactyl111

So those are not her best colors.

  • Imasewsure

I actually love the “no makeup look” (because I hate makeup) but the dress is too dull from the front to get away with it

  • this is mean, but the face she’s making in the first photo just has this mouth-fart-noise-ness about it. 🙂

  • silaria

This is both boring and terrible, though it took me a while to convince my eyes to focus enough to see the details.

But I freely admit that she is on my Totally Rational Celebrity Hate List, so she has a longer way to go for a positive word from me than most. (Totally rational hate! Have you *seen* her segments in The Daily Show? Horrible!)

  • quiltrx

She looks like she just came in from the pool, and suddenly remembered she had to be somewhere dressed as a Peach Milkshake.

  • GladtoexitNEPA

Slutty secretary is going to a slutty bridal shower later.

  • Like the outfit- hate the shoes (mix with metallic and beige, seriously, wtf?) and the jewels, gorge, but Olivia needs a make-up person or some She-laq from Benefit to keep her powder on. This is just too much.

  • Yuck.

Sorry, was that harsh? Oh well…

  • watchmeboogie

I have no problem with Olivia beyond her questionable fashion choices, of which this is one. Wrong color, wrong cut, wrong length, wrong shoes, wrong makeup, all wrong.

  • carnush

Would have been perfect without the shiny face.

  • decormaven

This person baffles me. She has access to some very nice clothing and accessories, but her looks rarely win me over. And if there was a MUA on this look, he/she needs to revisit the basics of cosmetics, which includes a course in No Shiny Faces.

  • Anniebet

She should have walked in backwards.

  • I wish I could see her and be happy for her and her successes but my reaction is always HOW YOU. HOW YOU FAMOUS?

  • LibrarianLizy

BORED. Yet another reason why she’s on my irrational celebrity hate list.

  • NYCGlamourpuss

Not loving the dress and it’s two-tones at all, and she is totally undermade-up, and much too shiny.

  • I hope that clutch has blotting papers.

  • Allison Drury

It looks too big, like she’s not tall enough to make it drape properly. The clutch is too matchy matchy. And I just don’t think that color is flattering on her. Total miss.

  • lobsterlen

Every single picture of Olivia she is shinny. Oh Honey they can fix that. In fact women have been fixing shinny greasy glare face for over 100 years. Its not exactly modern high tech but a little powder and lip stick goes a long way in improving the results of photographs. Its not attractive to blind the general public with the glare from your forehead.

  • librarygrrl64

She seems to love neutrals, both in makeup and in clothing, but I feel like she always looks tired and washed-out in them. Would a little color kill ya, Olivia?
