Nope, nope, nope. Not liking this shape on her at all.

      • http://twitter.com/stellaphone Stella Zawistowski

Word. She’s not a straight-up-and-down girl and it’s making her look like she has no boobs or hips from the front view.

      • BrooklynBomber

Agree, but I also think the version on the model works better.

      • KayEmWhy

You said it first No, No, No, No! Nothing works the nails Oiy!

    • http://twitter.com/foodycatAlicia foodycatAlicia

It’s SO much nicer from the back than the front! Good hair, good makeup.

    • hughman

“KERRY! KERRY! OVER HERE! WHO MADE YOUR WATCH?”

    • Cynica

That dress looks great in motion, but awful when it’s wrinkled and just hanging there. The fit across the bust is weird, and there are not enough words to express how much I hate this whole nail trend.

      • http://www.linkedin.com/pub/anne-mccandless/1a/238/38a Anne

It’s like we have the same brain.

    • ThaliaMenninger

That dress is so unflattering on her, especially across the bust.

    • Guest

Dear Hollywood…Please don’t have your photo call in front of a giant lips and eyes. It is beyond creepy. That last picture of Kerry surrounded by grimace is making me laugh. The dress…yawn.

        Stupid Disqus…double post.

    • Claudia Fernandes

what did she make to her hair???? as awfull as the dress

      • Sobaika

Yes! Hair is tragic. So disappointed in Kerry.

    • crash1212

The only thing I’m really responding positively to in this is the watch. The dress would’ve been OK – but just barely – IF it had either been the front length all the way around OR if it were long. Mullet dresses are an abomination for the most part and this one is one of the top abominators. The shoes are really bad and do nothing for this dress and the nails – well…whatever. Guess I shoulda stopped with the watch…it’s really pretty.

    • Rand Ortega

We let Christina Ricci get away w/ a mullet dress for its punk influence, now the stylists are swinging ‘em like dead cats at us? This will not stand. Looks like a nightgown the bleach ate. OUT. (Her hair is fab, though)

      • rumcg66

I get a nightgown vibe too. Ugh.

    • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gaby

      That colorblocking obliterates her shape.

      • oekmama

It’s a pity you and I both thought that… as I’m pretty sure the switching out the black with white side panels to give her a X down her torso was to remedy that. Didn’t work.

        • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gaby

Yep, I agree with that observation. The problem is the the X is too high-ser on the body, and the stripes over the bust are just too small in comparison to those on her hips – it functions to make her look flat-chested and square.

    • barbarienne

That’s a “keep walking” dress. It looks great while moving, but loses its magic when you stand still.

    • http://thishotoldbroad.blogspot.com/ Sara Leigh Merrey

No. I like the runway version much better.

    • MissusBee

In the history of fashion, has a mullet dress ever looked good? I mean, is there an Ur-mullet gown somewhere that looked so deliciously divine that ladystars keep deploying lesser versions in some desperate attempt to recapture the magic?

Not just being facetious here. I do actually want to know.

    • RedRaven617

The mullet dress can’t be over soon enough for me.

    • Carly Warnock

      That is hideously unflattering.

    • MilaXX

      love her!

      • e jerry powell

Actually, she did the hair for the Met Gala a few days before this; she still had it for a Peeples spot on EXTRA that same week. I think she still had it on Kimmel last night, too.

        Transcontinental diva.

        • MilaXX

Yeah she did the purple hair chalk for the Metgala. That’s my point. All this changing up. When she’s filming unless it’s a full wig, she doesn’t change the hair and she keep neutral nails.
Yes, I’m now stan’ing Kerry Washington.

      • http://www.linkedin.com/pub/anne-mccandless/1a/238/38a Anne

        Word.

    • alyce1213

Someone drugged Kerry, messed up her hair and put her in this ugly rag. I hope she’s okay.

    • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

Yeahhhh….That’s not the most flattering look for Ms. Kerry. Any design and styling that can do so much wrong to one so nearly perfect is flawed, to say the least.

    • http://www.facebook.com/bert.keeter Bert Keeter

I’d love a picture of that white satin train half way through the evening….It will most probably look like a dirty dish rag!

    • l_c_ann

Florence Welch wants her extensions back.

    • http://profiles.google.com/gillianholroyd gillian holroyd

yeahhh… changing the side panel colors to white makes it too patchwork-y and gives her an X across the bodice plus it’s pulling across the bust. Like it on the model though.

    • E. D.

Eh, the front is at least 3 inches too short.

    • random_poster

Nightgown dress. I dig her shoes.

    • frannyprof

A thousand times no. Couture hoochie is not in her wheelhouse.

    • PrunellaV

Maybe fashion-watchers some decades from now will ooh and ah over this era of overdesigned nails and torturously awkward dresses, but I’m not feeling it.

    • jetpackdino

The dress wasn’t tailored for her properly. The straps, the bodice… I think they had a gown that was a few sizes too big and tried to make it work for her by just shortening the straps. Which threw the fit of the bodice off. Just a guess really. Her makeup looks beautiful though.

    • demidaemon

I love me some Kerry, but this looks like a mullet nightie. No.

    • LilyPad

I think the gigantic crying face behind her pretty much sums it up.

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100002718877231 Bert Keeter

        PERFECT! Thanks…

    • unbornfawn

      Does nothing for her.

    • CrazyAuntie

      This definitely a runway dress.

    • quiltrx

The bodice is giving off a ‘cheap nightgown’ vibe I don’t care for. And the black ‘x’ seems to make her look wide and flat–like two dimensions instead of three.

      • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

        YES.

    • formerlyAnon

      There is mojo missing here.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000393765005 Garcia Loca

That is a lovely nightgown, Kerry.

    • Tatiana Luján

make the straps longer and the dress would fall (fit) into place.

    • decormaven

The hair, the nails, the fishtail gown- all add up to a big ol’ NO.

    • http://marshmallowjane.com/ marshmallowjane

Her manicure matches her dress; her nails look super cool!

I think that dress needs a tall girl. Kerry looks great in just about everything. She is a real beauty. But this dress doesn’t flatter her.

    • Mary229

I don’t like this for her. But I still love you, Kerry!!!

    • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

I don’t like the white ‘cutouts’ added from the runway version because they give the illusion of her bust being… not quite right. It’s also a mullet skirt. So, no, I’m not a fan. BUT… her hair and makeup are pretty.

    • librarygrrl64

I’m not sure this is her dress.

    • Adriana_Paula

She looks fine! (The nails are perhaps a bridge too far.)

      That dress looks cheap.
