Justin Bartha in Etro

Posted on May 31, 2013

Very, very, very cute:

Justin Bartha attends the premiere of ‘The Hangover Part III’ in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in an Etro suit.

Boyfriend cute. Bring-him-home-to-mom cute. Potential-husband cute. Plan-a-retirement cute. Okay, we’ll stop before we sound like a yogurt commercial.

We just love that we’re in a period of red carpetry where male stars feel comfortable doing the poledance in a pink plaid suit and a pink paisley tie. We feel like someone should give Alan Cumming an award or something.

Anyway, this look is awesome. The cut is a little boxier than we prefer, but that’s just a matter of taste. It’s all working great. The shoes make us wince a little, but we’re willing to overlook them.

Dudestars: please don’t do the peace sign on the RC. It’s no better than finger guns.

Not loving the shoes but adore everything else

  • conniemd

Cute, nice to see a non-conservative suit, tie and shirt. I’d consider him marriage material for my daughter.

  • Emily Dagger

I want to put him in my pocketbook and tote him around.

    • JosephLamour

I was scrolling down to say literally the exact same thing.

  • Jessica Freeman

I adore any man who wears pink and magenta. Swoon.

  • Diego!

I don’t know… it’s a nice suit but is it me or lately all the guys seem to be wider on the hips? Maybe they are requesting to tighten that area or it could be the fit of the pants, but I don’t like it very much

    • MilaXX

I think it’s the slimmer cut pants. They will make any but the thinnest of men look hippy

      • Diego!

Thank you for the explanation! I now know what to avoid to look slim hahaha 😛

    • Janet B

The jacket needs to be taken in, maybe that would lessen the illusion (I think) of wide hips.

  • MoHub

More men need to wear pink.

  • Barbara Woodruff

At least he found something to do with his hands other than put them in his pockets. Which seems to be the default for way too many guys. Cute guy, nice suit, nicely fitted, not my type.

  • stellamaris73

I can’t sign off on the shoes or the pocket square (clashing with the tie, I think) but yes, this is mom-approved.

  • Qitkat

Chocolate cake and fresh strawberries. Yum!

  • gabbilevy

No no no, that wasn’t a peace sign. He was just saying, “Oh yes, I have TWO movies coming out. Yes, TWO.”

    He looks very sweet.

  • StellaZafella

Maybe guy stars don’t make their shoe choices important because they don’t expect anybody’s eyes to travel down that far.

    • Qitkat

Maybe we ought to be grateful that men don’t have designer men’s footwear generally offered to them. Or that there is much designer men’s footwear, is there? But equal opportunity fug would be funny, n’est-ce pas?

      • Janet B

It often seems that they are wearing their own shoes, sometimes to the detriment of the outfit.

      • StellaZafella

There are a lot of really nice men’s shoes out there…men just aren’t into taking care of them the way we used to: Oiling, polishing, airing and knowing when to stop wearing them for dress-up because they’ve broken down so badly.
However: as for designer fug in men’s shoes, you’ve put me in mind of a certain regrettable, unforgettable pair of saddle oxfords in silver and cream that were reserved in my closet for disco dancing all through the 70’s…what was unforgivable about them was the 2 inch platform and 4 inch stacked heel…and yes, these were among my “boy” clothes.

        • Qitkat

Nice mention of how men used to take care of their shoes. My dad was one of those guys. I kept his homemade shoeshine box as a memento of watching him since childhood. A sweet memory along with the shaving ritual with the special soap brush.

  • PuttyGalore

I dunno. I think it makes him look hippy. And stumpy. The pants kinda look too short for the cut to me. And the jacket seems to big in comparison. Not feeling this one.

    • HomeOfficeGirl

Agreed – the pants seem a bit short to me.
Do you see Tom Hanks in him at all?

  • Patricia Gillett

Alan Cummings needs to get many, many awards.

I adore the fact that he is pole-dancing for the ultimate dude movie in a pink plaid suit and pink paisley tie. Not a fan of the cut of the pants but major points to him for having fun with this outfit.

  • decormaven

That’s the way you put together a shirt, tie and suit. Very nice! The logo in the background reminds me of that riff on watching “Leave It to Beaver” in Spanish from “When Harry Met Sally,” though.

  • amandafg

I would just like to point out that big lettering thing in the background is the title of the movie in Portuguese. Instead of going with a simple literal translation (“A Ressaca”), they went with a – terrible – pun on the “don’t drink and drive” warnings. So the movie here is “Don’t Drink and Get Married”.

Which makes no sense, since it’s exactly what they always do and everything ends up allright in the end.

  • gloriana232

It’s nice to see colour, but I feel like he went too matchy matchy on everything. I get it … pink.

  • I’ll take one of those to go, please.

  • Janet B

He has mastered the RC: clean shaven, pants hemmed correctly, and no hands in pockets!

Just loving the colorful and plaid suits we’ve been seeing lately.

  • jw_ny

Well done! Great suit and tie/shirt combo. Well groomed too! Dislike the matchy pocket square and detest those shoes, but over all he does look good.

  • Tatiana Luján

I don’t like the shoes, they’re too old for him; my grandfhater wears shoes like those.
¿Are the pants a bit short?

  • Very very cute man and suit, but yeah, the shoes were a mistake.

  • Geoff Dankert

And the tailoring is IMPECCABLE! No puddling of fabric around his ankles. Way to go, “David.”

  • nannypoo

And peace to him too. He looks great.

  • marlie

I love this suit and the tie so very much that I’m completely willing to overlook the shoes. LOVE.

ETA: The pants could maybe be a half inch longer.

  • I kind of want to see this on Henry Cavill. And then I want him to take it off. Slowly.

  • DaveUWSNYC

All that pink makes his baby blues really pop.

  • Dorothy & Michael n/a

I don’t think that’s a peace sign. I think he’s signaling to his publicist to say “Tell Alan Cumming I’ll call him back in TWO minutes.”

  • majorbedhead

Ha! I said “Oh, dood, don’t do the peace sign” before scrolling down and seeing you guys said the same thing.

I love that suit. A lot. The fella wearing it isn’t too shabby either.

  • SugarSnap108

    Cute suit!
I don’t think he’s making a peace sign. Based on his other hand gestures, he appears to be giving a sales pitch of some kind. Maybe that’s a two-year-warranty sign?

  • Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner.

  • Emily Giovanni

Also, his hand is saying “peace” but his face is saying “murder.”

  • mjude

  • MaggieMae

Love this look. Except for the shoes.

  • Candigirl1968

I wonder if Ed Helms took one look at this decided to kidnap Justin’s stylist.

  • Super cute indeed.

  • j_anson

The cut on that suit is REALLY wrong, but I love everything else about this.

  • maggiemaybe

Just ADORABLE. I love that suit.

  • Maluca

Huzzaaaah! I have seen the light.

  • formerlyAnon

Very cute. Gentlemen: look at how nice the contrast is when one can see a band of cuff at the end of the sleeve?

  • Buffy

    this is wonderful!

  • Dan_In_NYC

He’s so BF material. And hotter than this suit really makes him look. I’m with you on not feeling the cut or the shoes, but I’ll give him some “sorry your gay sitcom got cancelled” snaps for this.

    • demidaemon

I know. And there were some rumblings that it was because of a One Million Moms petition, but I also heard it was due to low ratings. Isn’t entertainment gossip just thrilling?

      I liked that show too.

  • Synnamin

That is an AMAZING suit. I wish more men weren’t afraid of pink

  • gurl boy

  • Hallelujah. Male stars, please take note: more of this, please.
ETA: I actually googled him to find out who he is. Good style does that, malestars. When you show up looking like a hobo, I google you so I know to avoid your films.

  • TheAmericaness

    Sweet dumplin’!

  • Lotus Baby

    i’d gargle his marbles

  • kimiakay

    Very very spiffy.

  • StelledelMare

Don’t know if anyone mentioned this already but while the peace sign is super cheesy, at least his hands aren’t in his pockets.

  • Reality TV Casting

i think it makes him look like he has thunder thighs… not only a boxy cut but a poor cut

  • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

Those colors look great on him. I have no idea who he is, but he can climb into my purse and come home with me!

  • demidaemon

I’d like to see the jacket cinched more with a less boxy silhouette, but it’s otherwise great. I’d take him home, if given the chance. 😉

  • ItsDicey

Hate the shoes beyond belief, but the rest is pretty damn nice.

  • Puckndc

Hemmed pants, suit fits to perfection, shaved, put together……Geez what is happening??? it’s a world gone mad!!

  • DebbieLovesShoes

I needed this after cringing my way through that Ed Helms mess.

    (I feel much better now).

  • MoreShoes

Cute. BUT the shoes are awful and he looks so uncomfortable.

  • save_the_hobbit

I love Justin Bartha (HUGE National Treasure fan), and am completely disappointed that The New Normal was canceled. He looks adorable here!

  • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

It looks like he’s saying “I’ve got TWO testicles and my penis is THIS long” as I scroll down.

  • librarygrrl64

    HAAAAATE the shoes. Otherwise, adorable.

  • Nikki IlVento

Didn’t Alton Brown wear this last night on Next Food Network star, but with a bow tie??

  • I’ve always had a big crush on him, and I’m happy to see him try something different on the red carpet.
