Jeremy Renner in NYC

Posted on May 24, 2013

Jeremy seems to be in a pretty gray mood at the moment.

Jeremy Renner walks his dog in New York City.

But Jeremy, how can you be cranky and colorless when you have that adorable little thing on a leash? Smile! Your puppy’s cute!

Okay, maybe not as cute as Andrew Garfield’s, but it’s not a competition. Yet.

Naw, Hugh Jackman’s Frenchie is the cutest, after my dogs.

    • StellaZafella

That, it seems to me, has more to do with Hugh Jackman than the Frenchies…sorry, I like Mr Renner…but I’d call Mr. Jackman SIR! And I have 2 mutts that are the center of my personal universe.

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_QFW22QV426LUOEPGASPZJWJMDE MishaFoomin

I don’t like how this pug is pulling on the leash in all the pics, while Jackman’s frenchie has a more obedient and calm look to it while walking. Nothing to do with the owners at all. This time.

  • gabbilevy

Meh, he does nothing for me. The doggie on the other hand, ADORBS.

  • random_poster

TLo–That’s twice in week with doggie posts. Are your cats jealous?

I guess a leather jacket is the NY celeb dog-walking uniform.

  • alyce1213

I love his doggie; my baby has the same red Puppia harness. Très chic.

  • Silly Grrl

All seriousness is negated by that little dog. HIM’S A WOOGIE WOO.

  • MK03

HE HAS A FRENCHIE. THIS IS A GAME-CHANGER.

  • Clueless_Jock

He looks ready to defuse a bomb.

  • Diego!

I forgot this was #SausageFriday until I checked on these pictures. Those jeans are REALLY tight IN THAT AREA, don’t you think? LOL xD

  • Knightley

I could care less about the pug. However, JR is DELICIOUS. Thanks for the Friday candy!

Am I in the minority when I say I do not find him remotely attractive? His nose sits in the middle of his doughy face like an Idaho potato. To paraphrase the Beastie Boys, his pants are tight and that’s OK, but he looks like some crabby random dude with a cute dog.

    • http://www.tomandlorenzo.com/ Tom and Lorenzo

Where did you get the idea that this is a place where we all discuss physical imperfections? Stop that.

      • NoGovernmentName

It’s not really an imperfection. Many women find it lovely. It’s just what it looks like to me, and I was being merely descriptive, not calling him ugly. I am puzzled about why this gets a scolding but acres of recent posts about how dirty and ugly Brad Pitt’s hair looks, and how he’s not aging well, didn’t get this reaction. Where is the line? Let me know so I don’t cross it again.

        • SugarSnap108

“It’s just what it looks like to me, and I was being merely descriptive, not calling him ugly.”

Saying “his nose sits in the middle of his doughy face like an Idaho potato” isn’t calling him ugly? Only if you’re being really literal about it.

My understanding is that comments about grooming (“he should wash his hair before hitting the red carpet”) are fashion-related, and ergo OK. But putting people down for the face they were born with, weight or body shape is not cool. Just my understanding, however.

          • NoGovernmentName

No, it’s saying that I don’t like the shape of his nose, particularly, and his face seems round to me. He looks like a random dude. Not an ugly random dude, just like any other guy instead of an international superstar and sex symbol. Perhaps being overly descriptive is the problem here. If I had kept it vague and said, “He does nothing for me, I don’t find him attractive, blah” I would have skated under the radar. But to me, what I said is no worse than saying that Brad Pitt is not aging well. Does that not imply that he looks bad? Specifically, his face looks bad, since his body seems the same as it ever was. This is why I am perplexed about which negative comments are seen as offensive and which are acceptable. Next time I will be less descriptive about what I don’t like, and I apologize for making it sound like I thought Jeremy Renner is ugly.

          • SugarSnap108

Honestly (and I’m not trying to be a wise-gal, here), I do think the “overly descriptive” part is the problem. Saying someone does nothing for you, or you don’t care for “round faces” is one thing — The language you used sounded like mean kids on the playground. And I agree – if someone said Brad Pitt is not aging well (as opposed to “dude needs a haircut”), that’s not cool, either. (I also agree on Jeremy Renner not doing anything for me, personally. My comment had nothing to do with that :) )

        • http://www.tomandlorenzo.com/ Tom and Lorenzo

You seem to have missed our point. Let me be blunt: You will be banned if you do this again.

    • Scoobydrew

From henceforth Renner shall be known as Potato Face, at least in my house.

  • Judy_S

If we are talking cute, that dog is going to be in the top 1 this week, unless somebody has a Papillon out on the streets.

  • jilly_d

Apparently it’s “guys jilly_d does not find remotely attractive walking adorable pooches” week here at TLo! Lol. I’ll forgive you guys since you invented Sausage Friday, which gives me life. Andrew’s GR was cute but I’ll take Renner’s Frenchie any day. Partial to the bullies <3.

  • MilaXX

I have a soft spot for pugs. Especially when they out dress their owners

  • http://twitter.com/foodycatAlicia foodycatAlicia

I tend to think that a dog’s shoulder should be knee-height or above on an adult person. But this one is cute enough, I guess.

    • marlie

I’m an equal opportunity dog-lover (we had 4 shih-tzus and a boxer throughout my childhood), but I particularly like French Bulldogs – they’re smushed faces are so cute!!

      • http://twitter.com/foodycatAlicia foodycatAlicia

I think the smallest dog we’ve had was a German Shepherd. Biggest was a Newfoundland.

        • marlie

My cousin had a Shepherd. Such a sweetie! And Newfoundlands are SOOO cute, but way too large for my city apartment (when I get a dog).

      • H2olovngrl

I also like that his dog is tugging and pulling at the leash. “I don’t give a rats ass how famous you are. Just get me moving! I see a hydrant over there with my name on it!”

  • Snailstsichr

And he has poop bags.Gotta give him an A for that.

  • j_anson

He’s not cranky! That’s just his resting face! :) (I mention this merely because there was a hilarious interview with ScarJo where she talks about the fact that this is just what he looks like when his face is relaxed.)

Come to think of it, I guess that’s sort of true of the pug too.

    • starrika

Jinx! I just posted about that interview as well.

  • Qitkat

Anyone else thinks he looks a little like Nathan Fillion here?

That looks like one opinionated doggie there. Too cute.

  • SouthernGirlRena

Off topic here but is anyone else having an issue of the comments section not loading. I’ve looked at the last 4 posts and this is the only one that has comments. I’m not sure if it is a Disqus issue or a Firefox issue. Sometimes I can go out of a post and come back in and get them but most of the time nothing. This started earlier this week..

As to this post, I agree that the dog is the only thing worth commending on and he is adorable.

    • Qitkat

I have been having this problem quite a bit recently, more often on Safari though. The Tilda Swinton post pictures never have shown up on on Safari, but worked on Firefox, for me. And comments which disappear when I click to Post. And continued notifications of replies to comments made months ago.
IMO, the classic example of *fixing what ain’t broke*, and making it worse.

    • http://twitter.com/foodycatAlicia foodycatAlicia

Disqus has been odd for a couple of days.

    • http://twitter.com/MajorBedhead MajorBedhead

Yes, I’m having the same problem. It’s only this site, though, so I’m thinking it’s Disqus.

    • Jessica Freeman

Disqus has been ‘updating’ apparently. It won’t let me log in via FB, and I use Chrome. It is often a nightmare when they go through updates. Hang in there.

    • jw_ny

I’ve been having trouble for the past few days. I don’t know if this will work for everyone, but when comments don’t load, scroll to the bottom of the page, right clicked on mouse and clicked on “inspect element” a box opens at the bottom of the page…I close that box and the comments appear. I use Mozilla Firefox for browser. maybe this will help some…idk.

      • SouthernGirlRena

That did work – thanks for the tip jw_ny!

  • starrika

That’s just his resting face! Was it on Letterman that he talked about how he has a grumpy/mean resting face? At any rate, it’s an amusing interview.

  • jw_ny

I see some truth in that saying that dogs resemble their owners. ;)

Jeremy is looking kinda bad ass here, and so his his dog.

  • SugarSnap108

I want that pup. Seems like the two guys behind him are also awash in gray. Maybe it was a thing that day.

  • hughman

What a cute, little, squat, flat nosed thing! Oh, the dog is adorbs too.

  • http://frankbettecenter.org/ sleah_in_norcal

that is the cutest dog in the universe! i wonder if it’s pure french bulldog or a pug/french bull mix. guy?….what guy? come’ere, you sweet baby doggie, i kiss you pretty face!!!

  • Scoobydrew

Guys with dogs makes this SNAUSAGE Friday! How about some corporate sponsorship for TLO! I too love the sweet little puppy face — frenchies are adorable. If a Jack Russell shows up it would be the best Snausage Friday ever — but I am biased.

  • sk8tfan

He has an awesome doggy and scoops its poop. He’s an automatic in. And it’s sort of a casual cool outfit. I forgive the grumpy puss. I’m nice that way.

  • Eric Stott

ADORBS that dog, even though I’m a cat person

  • Jessi03

So so so cute! Can his dog and Hugh Jackman’s dog be friends? I can see the Marvel cross-over now…

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Emily-Smith/12431153 Emily Smith

Maybe he’s sad because he’s just so damn unlikable.

  • yethica

That dog CLEARLY has its own agenda.

  • http://www.facebook.com/sheneve Sheneve Butler

Wow, now I get the comments I get about smiling more. It really does make a difference, in Jeremy Renner’s case. I’m just going to assume he’s cranky from a lack of sleep caused by having a crying infant at home.

  • CommenterFormerlyKnownAsR

It absolutely needs to be a competition of Sausage Friday entries with canine companions. Who will be the woogiest of them all??

  • Anniebet

Nice dog, but Jeremy appears to be delivering a package.

  • Louise Bryan

He didn’t want to draw attention away from his awesome oogy-woogy puppy!

  • http://www.facebook.com/sara.m.hottman Sara Hottman

I dunno… that shot of the pup all on alert is pretty freakin’ cute. Garfield: What can your pooch do?

  • ashtangajunkie

Love the frenchie! He pulls on the leash like my Dogue de Bordeaux, although I doubt he’s as hard to handle! Oh yeah, Renner. Cute too, I suppose.

  • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

Isn’t it funny how people sortof look like their dogs?

    • lobsterlen

Has anyone seen the photo comparison of him and grumpy cat?
