If it’s going to literally be from a bridal collection, at least it’s not white.

    • gillian holroyd

Way to blend in with the carpet there missy.

      • gabbilevy

TWIST! The cliche redhead question: Does the carpet match the… dress?? Yes!

        • BeeBeauNYC

And unfortunately for Ms. Isla, so does the hair!!

    • marlie

The dress is a bit standard, but the overall look is beautiful. And I’d cut a bitch for that necklace.

      • blueberrypanckae

        seriously, the necklace is amazing!

      • Mary229

Yeah I think it works. It’s nothing game changing but she looks beautiful for sure.

      • marshmallowjane

Wow. I agree. That necklace is stunning!

    • Kiltdntiltd

Great dress. I’m not sold on that choice of necklace. And she’s giving us too much hair. It’s a great mane but it would serve the look better if it were back, or up.

      • teensmom99

exactly. Her hair is magnificent so I didn’t want to attack her as a cocker spaniel but she needs a few inches off in general and some style so it doesn’t look like it’s mimicking the skirt.

        • Kiltdntiltd

I don’t mind the length really, I just wish it were a touch more formal, and keeping the volume away from her shoulder line.

          • Mary229

I would have preferred sleeker hair here.

      • BeeBeauNYC

Red hair + red dress is tough to pull off, in my opnion. I usually avoid red shirts for that reason.

        • Kiltdntiltd

I tend to agree, though I’m not bothered in this instance.

      • Jecca2244

The hair must have driven her nuts that night between the humidity, rain, and wind. up would have been better.

    • flamingoNW

Not entirely sold on the jewelry choices, but otherwise, LOVE! Nice to see her back on the red carpet.

    • carnush

Should have worn her hair up.

    • Virginia McMurdo

I like the Cleopatra snake jewelry.

    • eowyn_of_rohan

Love the necklace, wish the hair was different, and the skirt needs to be pruned.

    • cmb123

Gorgeous. the green in the jewelry sets off her skin and hair and the dress fits beautifully. I am not a fan of red on the red carpet, but she looks beautiful.

    • drdarke

Okay, I’m going to cop to the fact that I actually like this ensemble on her. It should look ridiculous and that red is so close to Red Carpet Red that she almost blends into it – but the color’s great on her and it’s just fairy-princess enough on her to be lovely….

    • Tatiana Luján

She looks absolutely gorgeous. Of course, I’m biased because I love her.

    • Elizabeth Flowers

      I like it!

    • 3boysful

Too many Mad Men posts. All I can think of is “whore.”

      • aeb1986

hahaha. and if you saw the movie you could probably apply that to her as well

    • Emily Giovanni

I think the skirt is probably gorgeous up close but from far away in the pictures it looks standard (pretty, but standard).

      • marlie

Yes, up close you can actually see that the skirt is made up of textured fabric and lace… really pretty, actually. Surprisingly, red lace doesn’t look cheap and/or tacky.

    • Jessica TallGirl Freeman

Aside from the lace in the ruffles, she looks fantastic. I’m really digging that necklace.

    • annabelle archer

A bit too bordello with all that red lace. Her hair should be up and while I like the jewelry, I don’t think it really goes with this look. Nothing is awful, but nothing is fabulous.

    • Sara__B

Yawn. She’s lovely, or course, but the gown and hair are not special enough for Cannes. The jewelry is gorgeous but not quite right with the gown and hair.

    • MilaXX

Poor accessorizing. I think either the necklace or the bracelet, not both. Hair needs to be in the back or up.Everything is fighting the dress, which looks good on her, for attention.

      • MissAmynae

i think if the hair was up or at least back, the jewelry would be fine, but a big cocktail ring would be better than the bracelet. makeup is especially pretty.

        • MilaXX

Makeup is pretty, but I don’t think the jewelry really goes with the dress. If I had my druthers I pin the hair up and loose the necklace.

    • KayEmWhy

Toilet paper roll cover. It’s a no.

      • charlotte

        That’s my impression as well.

        • makeityourself

Thank you. And it’s even worse on the model.

    • Rand Ortega

Maybe if Isla had worn that awesome Mantilla the model’s wearing & the wrap, I’d love this. But, it’s rather boring. Beautifully crafted, but dull.

    • Dorothy & Michael n/a

      Don Draper’s future fantasy girl.

      • Tatiana Luján

        • Donna Tabor

          Red dress, natch.

    • hughman

When you look at a dress and think “you know what this needs? a mantilla”, that’s a deal-breaker ladies.

    • MK03

Very wise styling choices. The runway model looks like Yara Sofia during the stand-up challenge.

    • JP

Normally, I hate when redheads wear red (I’m a ginger myself…oh, and the same goes for pink), but this really works on her.

    • alyce1213

Very pretty. I love her hair.

    • Colleen

I’m absolutely loving the jewelry! I’m not sure those peices are right for that dress but it doesn’t look terrible.

    • E. D.

Love the necklace with that dress!

      • conniemd

I love that necklace. It would look gorgeous with so many clothes, not necessarily just gowns.

    • PrunellaV

It’s way too easy for even an expensive red dress to look cheap.

    • Sarah V. It seems to accentuate her natural lack of height. And as a fellow auburn-redhead, I don’t like My People in red, as a rule. Other jewel tones ftw. Loving the jewelery pieces on their own.

    • Anniebet

For a wedding dress (giggle) this sure is a great red carpet look. Unlike some others here, I like everything about her, including the over the top jewelry and the red on red theme. She’s looking awesome.

    • Sarah Winningham

Who’s the Hitchcock blonde standing behind her?

    • Garcia Loca

The joory is what really steals the show, to me. It is absolutely drool-worthy!

    • MartyBellerMask

That’s a lot going on. Lot of dress, lot of hair, lot of necklace. She is beautiful.
And I wonder why couples don’t walk the carpets together? I want to know what Sacha is wearing.

    • sekushinonyanko

I think this is a pretty awesome dress. It’s a better idea, if you’re going to wear a Spanish princess dress to not be a brunette, since that can make it look like a costume. It’s too bad it’s so close in color to the carpet, because I really like this dress. The color is bold, and pretty, and miraculously doesn’t do anything ugly in spite of her having red hair. I’m all about this look.

    • Julie Chase

I don’t think that red is her color.

    • Pamela Hunt

Anyone else think she could play Debra Messing’s little sister?

    • Mary229

This is a big dress for such a petite woman but she looks lovely. Would prefer sleeker hair though.

    • Sophia Vaccaro

Love the color on her. Is anyone else just so very less than excited for the great Gatsby movie? Everything about it just makes me harcore eyeroll-gag.

    • Tish

I want to see more of Elizabeth Debicki, behind Isla. Goddess.

    • TheAmericaness

Her flowing red hair needed to be done differently, it looks like the dress and it’s like she has a hood on.

    • jmorino08

Lord! That model looks cracktacular! The actress just looks snooty and uninterested.

    • Bert Keeter

That gown in the last ten seasons has been to more wedding and bar mitzvahs than than you can shake a Judith Leiber bag at!

    • ankali

I wish she’d referenced the flamenco inspiration. Without it, I find this just standard. Except for the necklace, which is interesting but not to my taste.

    • Imasewsure

Don’t love the dress for some reason but i love the jewelry

    • quiltrx

Where is SBC? He makes a tall, stately accessory when he’s acting halfway normal.
The dress looks like a wet dishrag compared to how it looked on the runway. I would give the rain the benefit of that doubt, but I bet it looked like a wadded up mess to begin with.
It’s just too “Stevie Nicks meets Bride of Dracula” for me.

    • lilyvonschtupp

Guess that’s ANOTHER dress you won’t be seeing Shelly O in. Right, Oscar?

      • demidaemon

        The shade of it all!

    • PeaceBang

I’m singing “Extensions!” to the tune of “Tradition” from “Fiddler On The Roof.” And feeling very clever. That is some tacky bling, Mrs. Baron-Cohen.

    • CommentsByKatie

Ugh. The dress is boring. I love the mermaid hair and the necklace, though.

    • Diego!

This screams “Rebel Sweet 16″. No, no, no. OUT!

    • marshmallowjane

The ruffles on the runway dress look better and DIFFERENT; there are distinctive rows of ruffles. Isla’s dress is pretty, a style I used to love, but this look is a yawner now.

      • Gwyndall

I think the runway version has a crinoline under it, spreading out the folds so you can see the ruffles better.

    • NurseEllen

Yawn. Red dress, red hair, red carpet.
But who is the woman in back of her who is a dead ringer for the young Catherine Deneuve?

    • NYCGlamourpuss

      Standard, dull.

    • ItsDicey

Flamenco bride. Also, why the cocker spaniel hair? Wouldn’t some sort of updo or sleek pony bumped this up a bit?
