Why the hell did she not wear this gorgeous Art Deco dress to one of the Gatsby premieres?

      • PastryGoddess

        YES! and YES!

      • IMNAngryLiberal

May because THIS movie has the chance to be a hit.

      • MauveSF

I think it’s sort of clever. It’s like a dual promotion of both her movies.

      • drdarke

Adding to the chorus of “YES!”es to @alexpalombo:disqus ‘s comment.

I unironically love this entire look on her – it’s elegant, it’s classy, and even in a very high-fashion way sexy.

If I had an outfit that looked as good on me as this does on Ilsa Fisher, I’d never change out of it….

    • MilaXX

I like this. No complaints other than the usual it’s a tad too long on her issue.

      • Guest

I like it too! It reminds me of something Blair Waldorf would wear.

I like it too! It reminds me of something Blair Waldorf would wear.

ETA- not sure wtf is going on with disqus lately. POS. Sorry for the double post. One as a guest (wtfff?) and one as regular.

    • aeb1986

She looks great. I’m so glad she didn’t do her usual all down cocker-spaniel hair

    • gabbilevy

Verrry pretty, although it looks like the beading isn’t laying quite right. Overall a win, though.

    • decormaven

Still working through the Gatsby loaners, huh?

    • Deac82

That closeup of her face = Bernadette Peters

      • ceceliadid

        So true.

      • Carrieanno

Yet another reason to love this.

    • Kent Roby

She’s giving some Erte premiere realness; I just wish she had gone the extra step and had a couple of Borzois on leashes! . The dress is pretty, but I particularly love the cool simplicity of that clutch.

    • JasmineAM

      Beautiful dress.

    • marlie

Disqus, you’re such a bastard for f-ing up my account.

Anyway… Love the dress. Funny that she’s bringing out the 20’s inspired clothes for a non-Gatsby movie. And she’s rocking the Julianne Moore hair and makeup here. In this case, I like it.

      • antonialee

Yeah, what’s up with this Disqus crap? On one of my computers I can’t even get on to comment, and on this one, I had to “reset” a password I didn’t even know I had, for something I have never used.

    • Diego!

Mmm that dress reminded me of this one Mariah “Mimi” Carey wore in BET Honors 2012…

    • Fordzo

Nicole Kidman would look great in this dress.

    • Sara Leigh Merrey

Beautiful! I absolutely love that dress.

    • Krysta

Would have been gorgeous if the underlay was an actual color.

      • Kent Roby

This is a dress that I think looks beautiful with the nude base (i.e. not too “ice skater”), but I agree that it would also work in a totally different way with a color underneath, perhaps even a bright jewel tone.

    • crash1212

She looks great. I love that dress.

    • fairi5fair

      She looks beautiful!

    • NoveltyRocker

Oh, she looks so beautiful in pared down makeup! She always looks pretty but especially so here. She just looks more her.

    • annabelle archer

But I am already getting bored with all the deco influences. Too much of a good thing, ya know?

    • Tatiana Luján

beautiful dress and she looks lovely and fresh,

    • quiltrx

I can just hear her–“oh SHIT I was supposed to wear this to one of the Gatsby premieres!” It’s beautiful, and she looks great.

    • gillian holroyd

The lining matches her skin tone perfectly… but black and pinky-beige make for a pallid color combo.

    • antonialee

She looks beautiful, but so muggy here in Philly today, I am beginning to sweat just looking at this.

    • Richi Robilotto

Her hair is way too casual for this gorgeous dress. Also, I’m not sure if the makeup is right. I keep on going back and forth on it.

    • marshmallowjane

Nice. I think the runway model looks a bit better; I’m trying to figure out why. No criticisms. Isla looks beautiful.

    • bd73

pretty. should she have gone with a red lip to match the nails?

    • demidaemon

Enh, I’m just not feeling it. The dress is a nude sheath with black fringe hot glued to it. Not good. Still, her face is smashing.

    • carnush

Gorgeous look. Her makeup is super pretty.

    • shorty j

I want to like this, but whenever I see a dress like this that exactly matches the wearer’s skin tone, I automatically think that she looks like she’s covered in gigantic body hairs and then I get grossed out. (Nothing wrong with body hair, but the idea of massive quantities of it in geometric patterns is just like… ahh!)

    • julnyes

She definitely looks good, but I would like to have seen a little more drama going on in hair and makeup to fully match the dress.
