This should be a cute summery look, but that heavy cocker spaniel hair ruins the easy breezy effect of the dress.

That’s a very pretty dress. I’d wear it in a heart-beat. The styling is a bit *meh* – matching her toes to the dress seems to have been all the effort they could go to. But THANK THE LORD she doesn’t have the pinterest braid and Anthropologie tassels of the runway version.

      • Sobaika

Yup, the toes are a bit overkill.

    • Janet B

      I love that fabric.
Cute dress, but not her dress.

    • Rhonda Shore

It’s a bit Laura Ashley, isn’t it? Maybe she can do a cotton commercial too.

    • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

I so want this dress. And I love that the dress was shortened appropriately from the runway version! Her hair and makeup are fine, though nothing to write home about, as are the shoes. It would have been nice if she’d worn some jewelry. Also, I hate that the nail polish on her toes matches her dress.

    • blueberrypanckae

This dress is nothing new…I feel like I have seen it a million times at kohls or forever 21, but a lot cheaper! cocker spaniel hair and heavy bangs…over it !

    • http://heartprintandstyle.com/ Vivi N

It’s just a standard dress. She added nothing to make the dress rise above being standard. Meh all around.

    • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gaby

Cute, but the nails are a little focus-pulling.

    • http://twitter.com/FlyoverFi FlyoverFi

At least they raised the hem for her, such an unbelievable awkward length on the model.

      • conniemd

Agree completely. The model length made the skirt look hippy/dumpy.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=13805908 Kelly Sowers

      Where are her teeth?

    • AlexisPayne

It would have looked great with a simple pony tail.

      • MilaXX

yes, exactly. Then you could appreciate the dress.

    • hughman

Kinda sad she took it from “upscale hippy” (cute) to “church picnic” (boring).

    • http://twitter.com/RaankyRaank Raanky

The dress is really cute, but her hair, shoes, toenails, and lack of jewelry are hurting my eyes.

    • http://www.facebook.com/CameronETurner Cameron Turner

Her toe nails are screaming at me!!!

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Julie-Chase/731391326 Julie Chase

It’s cute. I would wear it. I wish she’d worn more interesting shoes though.

    • Jecca2244

Do you think it is sold that short? or is was custom? because that runway length is tough to pull off.

    • jmorino08

      Those bangs are hiddy!

    • pookiesmom

She looks great! Also, WTF if up with that runway model’s hair?

    • Amelia

Am I the only one who thinks her hair looks fantastic? It is super shiny/healthy looking a nice color and I think she pulls off the bangs quite well. Is all semi-wavy hair getting labeled as cocker-spaniel hair now?

      • Imasewsure

I think it’s more of the way it hangs than whether it is curly or not. We’ve definitely taken to calling most of these heavy banged, center-parted, long dual plaited (often extension-heavy) hairstyles “cocker spaniel hair” just as a short cut…. you could also call it “hair curtains” as far as I am concerned. Very pretty hair but kind of sick of it!

        • Amelia

Thanks for the explanation. I can get being sick of it because it overused.

    • tereliz

Kohl’s was my exact thought, too. She looks nice but nothing to get worked up over. I think the original length, while hard to pull off, makes it stand out from all the other fit and flare party dresses out there. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a beautiful dress and I would wear the hell out of it, but I’m your average nobody, not an adorable starlet with a perfect body.

Zooey D, are you paying attention? This is how cute happens.

      • http://onionjam.tumblr.com SkipperJane

And Zooey is at the same event wearing a sweater and Black tights. Someone wasn’t dressed right for the weather, and my suspicion is it’s Zooey.

    • guest2visits

This is a pretty dress, long or short. But her make-up and hair feel heavy for such a light, springy kind of design. I think if she had just lightened up on the face paint and put her hair back or up it might feel more natural. The blue toes need to go.

    • lawwife

Love the dress and would like to wear it now, please.

    • http://twitter.com/ashleynalvarez Ashley Alvarez

I think she looks really cute and healthy and great. Yeah I wish she wore the longer length but I feel like it might’ve cut her off weirdly and made her look stumpy.

      • http://thishotoldbroad.blogspot.com/ Sara Leigh Merrey

I prefer the shorter length. The longer looks frumpy to me.

    • http://www.facebook.com/pamela.hunt.796 Pamela Hunt

Is she Lea Michele’s little sister? Because if she isn’t, she could be.

    • AceOn6

I owned that dress, in 1977

    • alaskahyoung

      what’s wrong with her teeth?

    • gracedarling

I get that celebrities are teeny tiny, but this really needed the length to keep it from going into tweesville. Also, ‘Hannah Simone’, please. Her name’s Anna Simon. She grew up in Perth Amboy. Her father managed a Wal-Mart.

      • Anniebet

Uh, so celebs don’t change their names?

        • gracedarling

They do. I was quoting from this guilty pleasure (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6G-2jnVkIg), but the TLo audience is probably a bit too sophisticated to know the screenplay off by heart… The actual quote is “Juliette Simone, please… Her name’s Julie Simon.” etc. It’s just the first thing I think of when Hannah Simone pops up onscreen.

      • http://twitter.com/mirandom03 Miranda C

I agree, I liked the original length better.

And Center Stage really should be referenced more often.

    • Anniebet

This look makes me smile. Love the dress with the shorter length, and even like the cutesy blue toenails.

The pic with the model is hard to look at ’cause I see is that hideous fishtail braid.

    • ankali

Cute enough, but I prefer the more boho styling on the runway model. Minus the braids. Sweet Jesus, minus the braids.

    • http://profiles.google.com/gillianholroyd gillian holroyd

A waste of a charming print.

    • kathrineb

This look feels a lot more bland than it should. Time for new hair? I also dislike the shoes.

    • Addictedtowhitewater

This bitter kitten LOVES Center Stage and smiled at your joke. I have no idea about her name being real or not and will refrain from commenting on it but now I have this urge to break out a certain DVD. Thanks! :)

    • Mlzx

The toes were a bride too far.

    • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

Yes this. The model totally captures that cornflower blue summer feel.

    • librarygrrl64

The dress is cute, age-appropriate, and it fits her well. The less said about the hair and pedi, the better.

    • Joyce VG

      ADORBS!

    • http://twitter.com/lisledanielle Danielle Lisle

I 100% approve of shortening the hem.

      Cute.
