Who can turn the world on with her smile?

Emma Stone goes shopping in NYC.

Well it’s you, girl, and you should know it.*

that bag looks like it weighs more than she does.

      • MartyBellerMask

We’re just not used to seeing the ladystars actually PUT STUFF IN their purses. :)

    • http://www.facebook.com/isadora.paiva.7 Isadora Paiva

The sunny attitude just serves to justify my girlcrush on her. Even if she’s blond again…

      • http://twitter.com/RaankyRaank Raanky

I have a gay boy girl crush on Emma. She can mostly do no wrong in my eyes!

    • sagecreek

      She’s just adorable.

    • http://twitter.com/AnniNoone AnniNoone

I thought about it, and I realized that yes, the clue to the reference was really necessary, and then I felt old. I think I shall start referring to myself as a Golden Kitten.

      • shirab

Remember when opening theme songs had lyrics that told a backstory and a melody you could whistle? *sigh*

        • MoHub

And they were original compositions for the programs and not recycled rock hits.

      • Qitkat

“Golden Kitten”! I like that. We are legion.

      • MoHub

I think I might be more of a Rust Kitten.

      • rh33

I’m thinking Silver Kitten. Or Tired Bitter Silver Kitten.

        • BrooklynBomber

Tired bitter silver kitten — I love it!

          • SRQkitten

Yes! Of course I wish I were silver as opposed to this washed out color that is keeping my hairdresser employed.

            srq

      • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

Golden Kitten…oh, I do so like that!

      • LesYeuxHiboux

Well I am 28 and I got it without the clue, but I was an exceedingly weird child who watched Night Court and WKRP instead of cartoons.

        • http://dorothydamage.wordpress.com/ Dorothy Damage

I’m 29 and watched those shows too, along with The Honeymooners, Dark Shadows and Designing Women!

          • LesYeuxHiboux

Oh mah gawd, Designing Women. I must have seen every episode. Julia Sugarbaker is my patron diva.

        • formerlyAnon

You were an extremely discerning child.

      • BrooklynBomber

Me, too. I felt sad seeing the asterisk. But, yeah, it was necessary.

      • Wendi126

I had a beret just like Marys and threw it in the air one fine morning in homeroom 1973 and it landed on a suspended light structure from the ceiling. And there it stayed. I think it was that moment I realized I was and would always be a Rhoda.

      • RedRaven617

What I can’t understand is why I can remember the word’s to Gilligan’s Island but not what I had for breakfast yesterday.

        • http://twitter.com/foodycatAlicia foodycatAlicia

          Cue earworm…

    • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

I love the bag. The mom in me covets such a beautiful yet useful satchel. However, the pragmatist in me warns that I would only fill it up with crap, would never be able to find anything I’m looking for in it, and have a chronic hunch from toting such a heavy thing around.

    • nannypoo

She also seems to have turned on the guy with the blue hat. Adorable.

      • ewes_urn_aim

        I love him.

    • jamie2348

She looks cute but the bag is too big to be worn as a crossbody. It looks like a kangaroo pouch.

    • eowyn_of_rohan

The guy in the blue hat is ready for his closeup!

    • NYCGlamourpuss

You’re not gonna finish the rest of the song, TLo? (*Pouts*). But seriously, she does look adorable. I even like the ginormous bag, me being a ginormous bag kind of girl myself.

    • CeeQ

Aww cute. Plus I had those sunnies in the 90s some time when I was trying to grope my way to some sort of style. Not that I pulled it off or anything. Just a tangential reference =D

      • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

        Me too!

    • random_poster

Thanks for my earworm of the day, TLo!! “You’re gonna make it after allllllll……..!”

    • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

Cute! I love a well put together, “normal” look.

    • decormaven

Thank you for wearing a cute, not-too-trendy outfit with sensible shoes. Thank you for not carrying the handbag as a Paid Promotional Endorsement. And thank you most of all for displaying a joeie de vivre. Celebs, take note.

    • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gaby

Want jacket please. Plus purse and shades.

    • http://twitter.com/lisledanielle Danielle Lisle

      Presh!

    • http://www.facebook.com/conysoledad Constanza Álvarez Espinoza

      She looks fantastic!!

    • Rand Ortega

Ha! Love Emma. She looks adorable. That jacket is fantastic. So’s the bag, but that size duffel just seems unnecessary.

    • carpediva

It’s so refreshing to see a celeb out and about without stank-face, like they are actually enjoying their fabulous lives. She’s like a ray of sunshine and I am oddly pleased.

    • Pennymac

Shopping in her own clothes while product-placement-whoring that fab bag? Nothing wrong with that! She looks like she’s happy, and thats a good thing!

    • jw_ny

the cutie with the blue baseball cap seems to be enjoying the view. :)

    • zenobar

How charming to see a celebrity-type person looking cheerful, sweet and kind (as opposed to preening, paranoid, bitchy or a combination thereof). I never felt much about her either way before, but now I am firmly in the Fan camp. Love this whole photoset.

      • altermyego

Ah yes, compare this to that pic of Jennifer Aniston out on the street from the other day.

    • zenobar

Something about these photos puts me in mind of Lady Diana in her pre-engagement days, when the paps followed her around and she still found it amusing (most of the time).

    • formerlyAnon

PIFFLE, having to look at the original text. If there’s a theme song branded in my brain, MTM’s is it. “With each glance and every little moovement you show it . . .” If I’m singing in the bank line, I blame you guys.

Oh, right, Emma Stone. She’s cute as a bug, but I really love the restaurant worker grinning behind her. Now THAT’s a New York moment.

      • jw_ny

I’ve a feeling she’s grinning from the “compliments” he gave her as she passed on by…

    • crash1212

      Pitch perfect.

    • SugarSnap108

The guy smiling in the background, even in the longer shot, is a testament to her undeniable cuteness.

    • EEKstl

Oh, I miss MTM! Are they available on DVD? I need to look into that. Why aren’t they syndicated any more??? :-(. Oh, Emma looks cute.

      • alyce1213

It pops up on cable stations, depends on your area. You can search for it:
        http://www.locatetv.com

        Also hulu.com has some.

      • BrooklynBomber

I recently read a blog somewhere that said upon re-visiting the show, it really wasn’t funny. And while the blogger did make her point, she couldn’t make me stop loving MTM.

    • Anniebet

      Aww, cute as a kitten.

    • mjude

just threw my hat into the air as i twirled around. she looks adorable!

      • NYCGlamourpuss

        Oh, Maaare!!!

      • rh33

I’m thinking of a bottle of Scotch and two glasses for my bottom desk drawer.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

This easy breezy kind of look takes me a good hour to figure out. She makes it looks down right simple. Kudos girl.

    • MilaXX

That bag would be my new conference attending acessory

      • formerlyAnon

In black, I’d probably carry it nearly daily.

    • egurl

I just love that whole look. Anyone know who her coat’s by? It looks vintage to me.

    • Qitkat

How I miss comedies like MTM. I can’t relate to any of them anymore.

I love that Emma is running errands in flats. So we know she is really running errands, not just out for a *photo-op-stroll*.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Julie-Chase/731391326 Julie Chase

Blue hat’s grin made me cackle. Too cute.

    • lobsterlen

Blue hat chef getting a delivery has a nice smile.

Emma actually seems to be enjoying whatever is going on or being said.

If I had that bag I’d be all smiles too.

    • kaycem

      i love that bag!

    • StephanieLovesTLo

      Love is all around, kittens!

    • quiltrx

She looks cute and happy…and the outfit is pretty great.

    • http://marshmallowjane.com/ marshmallowjane

I love the richness of browns and beiges and the richness of Emma.

    • stubbornthoughts

Goddammit, I love her so friggin’ much.

    • bellafigura1

She needs to consolidate the white plastic bags, like all true NYers know to do!!

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=707624197 Cynthia Decker

She is just as cute as a goddamn button, that one.

    • librarygrrl64

      Cute and comfortable. :-)
