I didn’t like it that much until I saw the runway version. This looks fabulous in comparison!

      • ballerinawithagun

It is an improvement. White mismatched strip down the front and exposed side zipper???

    • http://profiles.google.com/jgonz85 Jasmine Gonzalez

That white stripe is distracting. It bifurcates the dress and makes her look wider than necessary.

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000088447181 Sam Smith

And it appears to be off by a smidge.

        • Pennymac

First thing I noticed. It makes my eyes twitch.

    • charlotte

Cute. I like this much more than the version the model is wearing.
She should have posed with her arms crossed like the movie character next to her ;)

    • merciblahblah

I think this is unflattering, makes her look bigger than she is, and HATE that white line down the middle with the firey passion of 10,000 burning suns. It makes her look like she’s standing in a split screen.

      • Kat

I think that’s because the dress is actually a little big on her. It’s gaping in the front and under the arm.

    • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

It’s those sexy shoes again, love ‘em still. The dress is fine, better than the runway version, to be sure. The hair is enviable and the makeup is lovely and light. Overall, well played, if not mind blowing.

      • 3boysful

Funny–to me, this looks like way more makeup than she usually sports. Me no likey. But I’m with ya on the shoes!

    • Missy Covington

The white stripe being slightly misaligned from top-to-skirt is setting off latent OCD tendencies.

    • http://twitter.com/kathyvr Kathy Van Ryzin

It looks too big and boxy on her.

    • MilaXX

They rendered the dress boring and it’s too big on her. The version the model is wearing sans crazy sleeves would have looked much better.

    • SugarSnap108

Amazing how one little white line can ruin everything. She looks like she’s being cut in half, and the way the line in the bodice just misses meeting the line in the skirt bothers me to a ludicrous extent.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Emily-Smith/12431153 Emily Smith

That is way too big i’m surprised she isn’t holding a fistful of fabric in the hand on her hip to make it tighter in the waist

    • Lesley

it makes her midsection look thick and we all know she is a tiny girl. extremely unflattering.

    • Diego!

She wore the same shoes as Miley Cyrus did at the Billboard Awards. LOL! :P

    • CommenterFormerlyKnownAsR

ok, this has a lot of issues, but I can’t stop staring at the closeups of the pattern (her version). That’s some Tetris realness going on up top.

      • jetpackdino

I was getting a Space Invaders vibe, lol. Definitely some old-school 8-bit arcade realness in that print.

    • crash1212

Not a great look. It looks too big and thus makes this tiny slip of a girl look bigger – weird. I like the model version much better than the stripped down version Amanda’s wearing. Just not very flattering.

    • random_poster

That’s some weird lighting. Dress is cute despite the stupid white line running down the middle, but it’d be cuter with a belt.

    • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gaby

It’s like someone went in and strategically removed anything interesting about this dress’s design (aside from the nice patterned fabric) except the goddamn visible zipper. Ugh.

    • Anniebet

Aww, she’s such a cutie but here the pics look like her head is a graphic rendering or a painting. Weird lighting indeed. A size (or two) smaller and a little work with a black Sharpie down that white line and the dress would have been better. Cool shoes.

      • drdarke

Amanda Seyfried – proving that she can look great even a cheap polyester housecoat.

    • Erica_Vuitton

The fact that the white lines don’t exactly match up on a dress that costs thousands makes me angry for reasons I can’t fully explain.

    • PastryGoddess

I like the shoes better on Amanda than on Miley.

This dress is weird and oddly unflattering. Love her hair, but not the makeup

    • Judy_S

The white line makes it appear as if the photo was damaged.

      • mhleta

On close inspection I see the lines don’t match up. That’s kind of a problem when stylistic expectations are at this level.

    • jmorino08

      Whyfor zipper?

    • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

Her makeup looks great, though the hair is just ok. The dress looks like it’s made and fitted poorly. HOT shoes, though.

    • lrober03

I liked it in the thumbnail, but up close the fit is all off

    • CommentsByKatie

I like the runway version better. The runway version looks like ti was inspired by an oversized shirt-dress; the white line representing the button line, the big sleeves, etc. It has a retro fabulousness. The version Amanda is wearing is like a totally different dress…removing all of the shirt-dress elements makes it look like an ill-fitting cocktail dress with a white line. The oversized look and the white line had a purpose in the runway version; on hers it just looks jarring and messy. No.

    • MoHub

I really don’t see it as the same dress. Even the print is deployed differently.

    • http://profiles.google.com/richixcore Richi Robilotto

I think you can get that dress at any department store. I think they even sell similar dresses in Walmart. They took all the interesting elements out of the runway bersion, and left behind a super standard, bland, generic, ill fitting dress. Snore.

    • tereliz

Dress is adorable but a bit boxy on her. And somewhat familiar, like I’ve seen it before, although maybe that’s the fault of the huge departure from the runway look. WANT those shoes.

Maybe if the bodice was taken in a bit, the dress would feel more, I don’t know, expensive?, but otherwise she looks great. Pretty hair and makeup. Givenchy heels look better on her with this dress than on Miley with Balmain jumpsuit at Billboards, imo.

    • Ediths_Head

      A) Who lit that event? Blacklist him/her.

      B) Who folded Amanda in half?

    • http://asskickingadviser.com/ Ass Kicking Adviser

Cute dress but it’s too big on her. The worst travesty here is her make-up. Who did that to that young gorgeous girl? She looks 45. And not Hollywood 45. Regular people (read: me) 45.

    • Shoelover1512

Well I was looking at it thinking that’s a really cute dress but it’s a shame the picture has a white line through it…..

Um yeah, that’s an odd design feature

    • nannypoo

The model’s version looks like a house dress and Amanda looks fat, so I’m suggesting that this dress should not be worn again.

    • mhleta

Too bad, too big. It’s not my favorite red, (too tomatoey) but it’s kind of a universally flattering shape. Love her hair and makeup.

    • jetpackdino

I absolutely love the runway dress. It’s Mondo + Harajuku schoolgirl uniform + Rocky Horror picture show. Adore.

Miss Seyfried is an astonishingly beautiful woman, but that dress isn’t doing much for her.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=149100065 Virginia McMurdo

Pretty hair but a meh to the dress… seems very 2011 up in here.

    • conniemd

I’m really confused. Is this a dress or a skirt and blouse. The visible side zipper only goes up the skirt to the waist. But the top looks sewn to the bottom. How does she get in and out of it?

    • TheAmericaness

She literally looks cut in half and then zipped back together. No.

    • kimiakay

Amanda, why did you let someone do this to you? I agree that the black collar on the top, sleeves, and sides of the skirt on the original would be too harsh for you, but that white line down the middle is so distracting it’s all one can see. I like it in the original, but this is not your dress, in any form. You are too pretty for such harsh colors.

    • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

I think those prints look cheap. Like someone truly designed it on the computer. Oh for a nice handpainted design. Nope. This is FUG.

    • PeaceBang

I got confused for a second and thought she was her own split screen.

    • guest2visits

Beautiful girl in blah dress. Looks like cheap-o Christmas wrap. Nice shoes.

    • quiltrx

It’s really cute but has some quirks, doesn’t it? I thought the white strip WAS the zipper. Then I saw the big ‘industrial’ zippers (pretty sure I see one on both sides, right?) on the skirt, and got seriously confused.

    • http://www.facebook.com/bert.keeter Bert Keeter

Bodice is huge on her…yikes! Looks very bridge…

    • http://thishotoldbroad.blogspot.com/ Sara Leigh Merrey

Looks way too big for her. And what’s up with the white stripe bisecting the dress top to bottom? Bad, bad, bad.

    • amanda lynn

      She… doesn’t seem like she’s happy. Ever.

    • librarygrrl64

Bleh. Terrible fit on that bodice.

    • calbear97

I never noticed until now that she looks like she could be Madonna’s sister.

ETA: Right, the clothes. Love the shoes. Liked the dress on the runway better than hers, the pockets were cute and I liked the black on the sides too. I hate hate hate the white stripe (let alone that it’s mismatched).
