Stacy Keibler in Wes Gordon on ‘Extra’

Posted on April 18, 2013

Okay, maybe we went a little overboard in our observance of International Celebrities-in-Shitty-Clothes day. We apologize for that, kittens. If your eyes don’t stop bleeding after 4 hours, consult your doctor.

In the meantime, here’s someone who defiantly refused to observe the holiday:

Stacy Keibler visits ‘Extra’ at The Grove in Los Angeles in a Wes Gordon dress paired with Jimmy Choo pumps.

Wes Gordon Spring 2012 Collection

Thank you, Stacy. On behalf of all the Bitter Kittens, we really needed that shot of pretty.

Should we criticize? Are we allowed?

Oh, what are we saying? Of course we should. We think this could’ve used a thin belt and, while the shoes are gorgeous, they look a bit heavy for the look.

Mario Lopez: Totally pointless, amirite?

  • As long as he is wearing a shirt, he is totally pointless.

She is inoffensive, at best. That silhouette isn’t doing anything for her.

    • VicD

She is 6 feet tall – how awful would that look on anyone shorter?!?! It’s weird and poufy and dirndly, but she does carry it off.

      • Sarah

It is dirndly (good coinage!) and reminds me very much of something my mom would’ve bought to wear in the 80’s with her Bass sandals. She was a redhead and tan printed fabrics were her go-to. So, at the very least, this reads “mature” to me.

        • judybrowni

Usually hate that ’80s tan (especially paired with orange), but I think it’s cute on Stacy.

She’s even pulling off the dirndl.

          • Sarah

Hard not to pull off with a figure like that. I don’t think she looks terrible, and I don’t think she has to be putting the goods out all the time, but I meant more that she reads older in this outfit. Maybe, though, because my mom would’ve bought that in a hot second at Lord & Taylor.

  • teensmom99

It’s pretty, but I kind of feel like Stacy and Eva Mendes are participating in “Clothes TeensGrandma99 would have bought for Teensmom99 in the 80s.” My late mom (bless her) would have bought Stacy’s ensemble for me, telling me it was the perfect “work to evening date” outfit.

    • j_anson

Ah, the mythical “work to evening date” outfit.

      • teensmom99

J_anson, my mom was always finding things in Loehmanns that she claimed were the perfect work to evening date outfits. Sadly, the kind of dates she was imagining didnt happen in my dating days in the 80s and 90s–you know, dinner, theater and a nightclub.

    • formerlyAnon

YES. She looks very pretty, but no pizzazz at all.

  • ilikemints

She looks like a budget Duchess Kate.

  • Apart from being man candy, yep, Mario is pointless. Stacy looks really cute. Wouldn’t have gone with black pumps for that dress, though.

    • MikeW_Vegas

If you don’t want him, I’ll take him off your hands.

      • Take him with my blessings. Not my type at all.

        • MikeW_Vegas

He’s not really my type either. But any port in a storm (so to speak)

        • RebeccaKW

I love dimples, but beyond that, he’s never moved my pants.

    • Little_Olive

They are midnight blue in my screen -not that it’s such an improvement.

      • alyce1213

They are indeed dark blue — color but understated, and I really like them. Jeez, she must be 6’5″ in them.

    • Sunraya

Stacy is arm cand, too, don’t you think? What else is her point?

  • The dress is beautiful, but I think they are both pointless.

  • gabbilevy

Pretty, feminine, and it looks comfortable. Nice to see.

  • fringebenefit

Well, as you all say, she may well be pointless, but she has the best stylist EVER. Anybody know who?

    • Frank_821

      I think it’s Brad G

      • fringebenefit

Well, Brad G is a genius…she is always perfectly dressed and styled for the event.

  • This is a perfect American version of Cathy Cambridge.

    • In_Stitches

My thoughts exactly! Very Michelle Obama.

    • TheAmericaness

She even has the hands down perfect.

    • formerlyAnon

For me, she’s not nearly as elegant as Cathy C., and she doesn’t give off the same impression of being genuinely thrilled! and engaged!, but she has the same air of “it is my JOB to be pretty and appropriate and I am good at my job.”

      • H2olovngrl

I also like that she does this job with relatively little drama and almost no asshattery. She may have replaced Charlize as my girl crush.

    • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

  • nicewilliams

The pattern up top is making her chest read a little ‘football player’. George wouldn’t approve.

  • what was this, a meeting for really ridiculously good looking people? clearly my invite was lost in the mail.

    • JasmineAM

I was the opening of the School For People Who Can’t Read Good.

    • Good looking as he is, he will always emanate douche to me, after cheating on Ali Landry on their honeymoon. She was smart enough to annul the marriage after that. I can’t stand him.

      • H2olovngrl

Really?! Wow, I guess I am just out of touch.

      • their honeymoon? that’s some crazy

  • Adorable dress! The dress could have used a belt, and the shoes are fine, but not the best choice, however this is INFINITELY better than the dreck that we’ve seen today. Thanks, TLo!

  • alyce1213

Perfectly lovely. I never imagined her to have come so far in a few years.
She has the height and slenderness to handle the blousey top.

  • hughman

At least she looks like an adult. Mario looks like her younger brother who’s running for HS Class President.

  • Julie

Who is the designer of the dress?

  • thecitysleeps

That is such a classy, pretty dress. Love it! It would have benefited with a belt, and I would have gone with light brown shoes.

    Her knees look scary though!

  • MsALVA

I wonder if Brad Goreski styled her for this.

  • TSkot

Lopez could wear what Maggie Gyllenhaal was wearing and still look hot.

  • Rand Ortega

Red pumps would’ve made it a WERQ for me.

    Mario Lopez: TV Rentboy.

    • formerlyAnon

“TV Rentboy” First laugh of the day. Thanks.

  • rainwood1

I’m not loving the dress on her, especially when she’s sitting down. A little too orangey Rorschach on the bodice, and it looks like the printer just spewed out ink on the bottom. Agree on the shoes though.

  • Wetting Kate Middleton realness.

  • formerlyAnon

She looks very pretty . . . and appropriate . . . and completely pedestrian. No pizzazz. Very attractive junior politician’s wife.

He manages to look simultaneously as if looking pretty is what he does best, and as if he is anatomically as sexless as a Ken doll. That must be a talent, but I’d certainly say it’s a pointless one.

So in a weird way they’re perfectly matched. Hope they helped raise a lot of money.

    • TropiCarla

Agree about the “sexless as a Ken doll” thing. When I saw him on DWTS, I wondered how he could be so fine and yet have so little sex appeal – even in my (tragic) Saved By The Bell days I didn’t get him.

  • lobsterlen

She looks great. Yes I thought of Kate Middleton too.

Mario Lopez is on my irrational hate list.

    • MartyBellerMask

I’d say it’s rational. But dimples go a long way.

  • Trisha26

Orange is hmmm…icky. The look isn’t flattering to her figure (can’t imagine what this silhouette would look like on a woman larger than size 1) and borders on juvenile. Don’t mind the shoes – age appropriate. She does give off a Cathy Cambridge vibe! Mario who?

  • jw_ny

this could possibly be the freshest I’ve ever seen her.

  • ellabob

    I want that dress!

  • Stubenville

I think a red shoe would have been better. Agreed on the belt.

  • Mario Lopez = totally gorgeous!

  • princessricky

from the side angle she totally looks like the actress who played Jan from the office.

  • I’m just happy it’s not skintight … unlike his, which I’m also happy about!

  • nannypoo

While I think this is a pretty dress, I don’t think it’s her dress at all. It’s much too young for her and the shape is too fluffy. I find it hard to take her seriously anyway, but I’m not sure what she’s trying to convey here.

  • bellafigura1

Really? Um, no. And please, with the nails, ugh.

  • Fordzo

EVERY time I hear “Stacy Kiebler” I think someone is talking about the host of What Not to Wear.

  • Heather

Wow, for once I disagree with Tlo and the majority of the Bitter Kittens! I think the dress ITSELF is fine, but i find it hugely unflattering on her – makes her look like she has linebacker shoulders and the length is really unflattering IMO – ‘accentuate the knees’ is not often a great strategy. Like SK I am tall and slim and have given up pouffy skirts entirely, sticking primarily with pencil and A-line and going for either short or knee length. I also have bony knees and avoid drawing attention to them.

  • SewingSiren

She is the very definition of banal.

  • Chartreusite

stacy is a deity on this day!

  • Chic, fresh and best of all in years to come, unlike most shots of celebrities, it will still be beautiful!

  • MilaXX

Agreed on all counts, but I really like that dress

  • MzzPants

She’s looking effortless and gorgeous and she’s -just- a wrestler. Not even a real cable actress. How the girls must hate that. His job is to be pretty and read the cards. Where would this world be without it’s eye candy?

  • Rebecca Jay

Looks like something her mother saw on the JC Penny rack and thought would look “just darling” on her daughter. You know, the daughter who is grown up now and dresses like a grown up? But still paints her nails like a 13-year-old.

    Oy, no wonder Mama’s confused.

    • BrooklynBomber

I know. Everyone over the age of, say, 15, should stop with the green and blue nail polish.

      • snarkykitten

        lol no.

  • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

It’s not a couture dress but that’s okay, it’s still lovely and she looks great in it. And I’m 52 and you will take my green nail polish away from me when you can pry it from my stiff, dead hand!

  • snarkykitten

I dunno, all that red looks a little Carrie at the prom to me.

  • VicksieDo

It’s way too big on her, she can wear the slinky stuff. OUT OUT OUT. Also, it looks like blood splatters, which we’ve seen enough of this week 🙁

  • Anniebet

I sighed with relief… finally, something that didn’t make me faintly nauseated (other than Fan BB). Today has been a grueling day for us BKs.

She looks, uh – normal. Like a celeb who cares. Sweet little unassuming dress, love the nails, the casual hair and makeup. She could use the shoe toes as tooth picks if the occasion called for it – like I said, normal.

  • Margaret Davis

    Stepford co-host

  • lrhoff

The shoes were terrible, but I did like everything about the ankles. A belt would have done wonders…..

  • Jenna

Can anyone tell me what that print is supposed to be? I like it (granted, as a tall, incredibly pale-bordering-on-pasty-oh-who-am-I-kidding-flat-OUT-pasty gal… that color pallet is never going on me ever. Not even if I ~COULD~ afford it.) and it gives something like a Rorschach-Insect vibe that is oddly cool.

  • ccm800

Shes a blonde Kate of the UK Kates to me here.

  • kathrineb

Kind of boring to me. This kind of look needs a little edge especially with her conventional hair.

  • what is her job other than george clooney’s girlfriend? those shoes for an outside event? i’d pay money to watch those heels sink slowly into the grass….

    • That was my question. What does she do that makes her a celebrity? I didn’t remember that she’s Clooney’s girlfriend. Still not enough for me to care about her.

  • snarkalicious

Lovely dress. Her knees scare me, though. They look like they could cut you.

  • warnerave

    pretty dress..
