Olivia Wilde in NYC

Posted on April 10, 2013

Oh, Miss Olivia, You clever, clever girl.

Olivia Wilde takes her dog ‘Paco’ out for a walk in New York City.

Paige Kylie Crop Bicycle Print in Island Blue. Ray-Ban Original Wayfarer Sunglasses. Proenza Schouler PS1 Bag. Reebok Dance UR Lead Mid Sneakers.

Deploying the cute dog to deflect any style criticism. Nicely played, girl. Nicely played.

Actually, even without the dog we’d think this outfit was really cute. Love the kicky kicks pared with the sassy pants.

She’s so cool – she even has the yellow ribbon on Paco’s leash to warn other dogwalkers to give Paco “space.”

      • Loola234

        That’s not a ribbon – that’s a poop bag…

        • RedRaven617

But it is artfully arranged to look like a flower.

    • hughman

Between the triangle and the t-shirt tuck, I am being drawn to her crotch vortex.

    • http://twitter.com/cornekopia Shawn EH

I feel like it’s a great costume. She looks really pretty, but you might wonder if she’s famous too, or just a pretty girl.

    • Sobaika

I want that dog!! I’ve wanted a sheepdog but the grooming/hair would be too much.

      I’ll settle for Olivia’s sneakers.

      • Melanie

I don’t think Paco’s a sheepdog. His legs are awfully long and he has a long tail. Sheepdogs are much squatter and have stub tails. But he sure is handsome.

    • http://remedialstitcher.blogspot.com/ Sara Leigh Merrey

Can’t stand the stupid t-shirt tucked just at the fly. Who thought that up and what were they on when they did?

      • Sara L.

I always do that because I am allergic to nickel and the snap/button back gives me a rash. I don’t know if that’s the case here, though.

        • http://remedialstitcher.blogspot.com/ Sara Leigh Merrey

I’ve seen it on a lot of celebrities. It seems to be more a “personal style statement” than a health thing. I could be wrong, in which case, nevermind.

          • AViewer44

I think it’s to prove that you have a flat stomach even though you are acting as if you don’t care either way by letting the rest of it hang out.

        • JasmineAM

Yes! I have a nickel allergy and I do this constantly to avoid a nasty rash.

      • drdarke

My takeaway from this was, “Hey, I’m not the only person who runs morning errands in my jim-jams!”

Be fair, though – even dressed like that she’s still stunning – and her dog is adorable….

      • http://profiles.google.com/h.e.waddell Heather Waddell

I know! It looks like it got caught as she was finishing up in the bathroom. Otherwise I really like this outfit, especially the attention to detail in coordinating the dog’s leash with her shoes.

        • http://remedialstitcher.blogspot.com/ Sara Leigh Merrey

That’s it! I couldn’t put my finger on what bothered me so much about this, but that’s it!

      • nicewilliams

I do it all the time- The Halftuck gives off the statement, ‘I just rolled outa bed, threw this outfit together, and don’t give sht’. (But really I do). I think as far as tshirt wearing is concerned, it feels less sloppy.

    • MilaXX

I do not get the shirt tucked only in front thing at all.

    • charlotte

I just hope she isn’t wearing blue eyeshadow underneath the shades. Cute dog!

    • alyce1213

She looks just right for a casual dog walk in NYC. It’s so cute that her sneakers (which I LOVE) match her dog’s leash and accessory bow. I love her bag, and Ray Ban Wayfarers are forever.

      • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gabriella M

I think the bow may be related to the Yellow Dog Project, meaning that her dog needs space for some reason, and not to approach the dog with your own dog. Could still be in training, could be skittish, could be in recovery, whatever. But it could just be a well-coordinated accessory bow, yes.

        • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=621974740 Carolyn Wilson

I thought it was a poo bag.

          • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1401197785 Jennifer Peters-Ahnberg

Me too. I was all impressed she had coordinated the leash and poo bag to her sneaks. That’s commitment.

        • alyce1213

Oh, I knew nothing of the Yellow Ribbon Project, and I’m a dog owner. Thanks for the info.
Loola234 weighed in that it isn’t a ribbon at all — it’s a poop bag.
          Looks good, either way.

        • Pamela Hunt

The yellow bows are usually deployed when a dog is “dog-reactive”, meaning they aren’t friendly with other dogs. It signals other dog owners to keep at a distance. It does look like a poop bag, though.

    • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gabriella M

Aw she’s probably like 7 feet tall but she looks like she has short legs like me. EMPATHY. Lookin’ cute, love your dog because s/he looks like a giant version of my little maltese. Adorbz.
(And by 7 I mean 5’7 – above the mean, is what I mean.)

      • Kristin McNamara

I know! That’s what I was thinking looking through these photos… why did I always think she had super long legs? She evidently does NOT.
ETA: I guess her heels have been doing their jobs!

      • Qitkat

Short legs, but looks like a longer torso.
However, she barely got the waistband snapped, bit of a zipper gap there. Another reason for women’s pants manufacturers to give us more choices.

        • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gabriella M

I’m basically built like this, but short/curvier (not actress-skinny, i.e.). Long torso + short legs = it’s suuuuper easy to touch my toes and put my hands under my feet. I seem so much more flexible than I am.

      • shanna bowie

        She about my height. 5’7″/5’8″

    • jetpackdino

When you pull your pants up quickly without checking the mirror, this is what happens. She was probably just in a big hurry to get out of some public restroom.

      Cute shoes.

    • RebeccaKW

Cute outfit. I used to be kind of ‘meh’ about Olivia Wilde, but then I read about her ‘feud’ with Bieber and I kind of love her now.

    • http://www.facebook.com/bert.keeter Bert Keeter

Dunno about this…I can see all of it on Honey Boo Boo’s line for littel girls!

    • Laylalola

Is she lesbian? I know the inverted triangle isn’t black but still, it’s the first thing I noticed and thought she was trying to telegraph.

      • http://twitter.com/foodycatAlicia foodycatAlicia

        What the heck?

      • Melanie

She’s engaged to Jason Sudekis (though she doesn’t appear to be wearing her ring in these pics), if that means anything.

    • snarkykitten

I don’t get any of it. And none of it really goes together. Why the shirt tucked in just there? & nice touch with the poop bag. Does she pull out an assistant out of that bag to do it for her?

      • Qitkat

But she matched the leash/poopbag/bow to her shoes!

    • Qitkat

Such a cute outfit. Does anyone know what else the shirt says besides *please*?

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=724916801 facebook-724916801

      Love her.

      • AnnaleighBelle

    • crash1212

Dog leash and poop bag match her outfit. Classy.

    • capybara_cafe

Do you think she bought the leash and poop bag to match the shoes, or vice versa?

    • bd73

not cute for an adult. nice nail color, though.

    • VicD

If those pants make her thighs look heavy and her legs look short, what hope is there for the rest of us? (whose thighs are heavy and whose legs are short…)

    • jilly_d

I’m “meh” about this look but the dog is adorbs and i have been lusting over that Proenza Schouler bag for MONTHS.

    • Jacqueline Wessel

I don’t know, those pants are kinda Quacker Factory (tighter, of course) and the shoes are a little bozo, but that is one fine looking dog.

    • formerlyAnon

I am too old to evaluate this one.

    • nannypoo

One of the many reasons I am not a papparazza is that I would never recognize most of these people on the street. Maybe this is someone else entirely. How can we tell?

    • SewingSiren

And the poo bag matches her laces.

    • http://twitter.com/TVcastingcall Reality TV Casting

triple shot of adorable straight to the gullet, wham bam thank you ma’am

    • Carly Warnock

The sneakers made her look so stumpy legged.

    • gracedarling

I thought the praise was going to be for matching her leash/poo-bag combo to her shoes! Although TLo generally doesn’t love the overmatchiness, so…

    • Louise Bryan

      She accessorized perfectly. Go Paco!

    • kathrineb

I think this is a fun look! Common now people, her pants have little bikes on them… I’m loving it…in my eyes she looks great!

    • http://twitter.com/poptartsjen Pop Tarts Jen

I love that she coordinated the leash and doggie doo-doo bag!

    • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

Those sneakers should be set on fire.

    • PastryGoddess

Ok so I need to go buy printed pants now yes?

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=603005248 Jeff Warhurst

It reminds me of Punky Brewster.

    • DaveUWSNYC

She even matched the plastic bag for the dogshit to her shoes. Clever bordering on fiendish.

    • Judy_S

What I like is that the no doubt pay-my-mortgage-off bag is the same one she was wearing in Rome some months ago. So she wears it because it’s a good, useful bag, not because she is contractually or morally obligated to show it off.

    • CatherineRhodes

Love the yellow bow tied to the leash in a coordinating color.

      • Melanie

Pretty sure that’s a bag to pick up poop.

        • CatherineRhodes

Oh, revealing myself as a cat person (never walked a dog).

          • Melanie

:) Happens to the best of us! But you’re far from the only one to notice she matched it – whatever it is – to her shoes, so you’re in great company!

            • CatherineRhodes

I guess I didn’t know poop bags came in colors. I always see people using plastic grocery store bags. Ah, live and learn.

    • disqus_sZRDWtvvVD

I’m having an 80s aerobics class flashback with those Reeboks! Paco is amazing.

    • marilyn

The only interestig thing about this picture is the dog. Her clothes are very expensive, but look like they came from the thrift store. And she worked so hard to achieve that look.

    • http://www.facebook.com/AdriannaGrezak Adrianna Grężak

The length of the pants is making her legs look oddly proportioned.

    • MrsJoe

The dog looks like a grownup version of my Golden Retriever/Poodle rescue puppy – I believe currently designer mutt referred to as Golden Doodle. At least he looks like that after a blowout at the groomers. Within a few days he’s back to curly and frizz (aren’t we all?). Her dog could be that with straighter hair, or I would not be surprised to discover has regular blowout appointments.

    • http://twitter.com/Chucko78 Chuck Barthelme

      I’m in love.

    • MaryAtRealityTea

The fit on those pants is so atrocious! It’s horribly unflattering to me
