nothing wrong with the dress, but her girls look to be in need of better support…..

      • MoHub

        Low-hanging fruit.

        • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

          {Snort.}

      • VanessaDK

Her girls have been through a lot, including a partial mastectomy. they deserve to be comfortable.

        • jetpackdino

Oh I had no idea. Alright, well actually for all that she’s doing okay. I don’t hate this dress at all.

      • embers618

I think the way the “chain-mail” interacts with the lighting is causing most of that issue.

    • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Something about this isn’t working for me. I can’t figure out what, though.

      • schadenfreudelicious

        i see sad boobs and a bellybutton…..

        • H2olovngrl

No problem with the breast area for me, but the visible, or peeking belly button RUINED this look for me. Cute dress but that belly button looks like something on the dress that shouldn’t be there; like a bug or something. Way too distracting.

      • drdarke

        Yeah, @kiltdntiltd:disqus – I keep thinking I should like this outfit…but I don’t….

      • Melizmatic

        I had the same reaction.

I even tilted my head to the side, trying to figure out what’s bothering me.

Maybe its the fact that it’s a semi-transparent and metallic jersey dress?

      • VeryClaire

        Because it’s tacky as hell?

      • ralish

        The belly button, I think.

      • formerlyAnon

It looks like the pattern model picture (the one that looks better and more finished than you’ll ever achieve at home) for a Now! Mod! Dress! you could crochet at home from metallic thread, yarn, and small gauge wire. (She left off the newsboy cap you can crochet in complementary colors.) That’s what’s not working.

      • filmcricket

It’s a depressing colour combo and it’s making her look square? Seriously, it looks like she borrowed a boyfriend’s sports jersey and bedazzled it.

      • Sara__B

Here’s what’s not working for me: The exposed bellybutton. No bra. No styling whatsoever. Horrible hair. Sensible shoes.

        • barbarienne

Really, sensible shoes with a chainmail dress? I understand the concept of playing your accessories off against your outfit, but usually the idea is to have the accessories bring some edge to a plain frock, not the other way around.

wow, it’s not often you see someone remove the lining… that was an unfortunate choice.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=559324312 Pablo Ulloa

Hate how that neckline looks with that fit…
I guess I would preferred a tight dress with that straight neckline

And the sleeves are too long

    • embers618

She should have kept the liner in the center sheer panel. The model looks better, mostly (I think) because her belly button isn’t pulling focus.

      • http://twitter.com/wilsonmj Michael J. Wilson

I don’t think there is lining. I just think the model’s belly button is just behind the lower silver panel.

        • http://www.facebook.com/theAccidentalHousewife Leah Elzinga

that’s what I thought at first, then I noticed the lining around her pelvis and that it goes straight up from there. Only the collarbone area seems to be unlined on the model.

          • embers618

I also thought it was unlined on the model at first. It was hard to tell because the proportions are so different on the runway. I think if Kylie wanted a longer dress, she should have had panels added, not made the existing panels wider.

    • http://twitter.com/maryfargo Mary Carpenter

It reminds me of a crocheted beer can hat. Not feeling it.

    • Jenna Olson

With the right hair, makeup, and dress lining, this could have been great…. That’s something I get to say everyday…

    • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gabriella M

I love Kylie for wearing a chainmail dress, but this isn’t being very kind to her shape. I feel like she should have sized down, but those links would probably get really uncomfortable.

    • MilaXX

      Cute and age appropriate

    • sablehunter

Love the hair and makeup. The dress….not so much. The peek-a-boo belly button and lopsided boobs are distracting. No bueno.

    • MoHub

      Mutton dressed as lamb.

    • Danielle

I think it’s fun and adorable.

    • formerlyAnon

I think the dress is ugly and I’m not in love with her hair.
If I actually liked the dress, I’d think she looks cute.

    • http://www.ellenciompi.com/ NurseEllen

That last pose is giving me a back ache, and the dress itself is giving me a head ache.

    • nannypoo

Cheap-looking combination of parts from Home Depot and Michael’s.

      • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

If this was the “unconventional materials” challenge we’d all love it. :P

        • conniemd

Exactly. Has a cheap, craft project look.

    • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

I’m not in love with it, but I guess the MTV awards are the only place this dress would be OK.

    • alyce1213

It’s a bit vulgar. I suppose that’s ok for MTV awards.

    • Imasewsure

Way too clingy and unflattering even on the model… hair is a no

    • Indovina

It’s a dress that’s partly made of mail and, because of that, I want to like it, but I just don’t.

    • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

This dress is definitely right for the MTV awards, but it’s wrong in so many other ways. Totally unflattering on her and that limp hair makes me want to cry.

    • Jacqueline Wessel

Aside from the belly button, she looks too old for this dress.

      • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

OMG, did she UN-line the midsection. Oh, honey, NO.

        • Deac82

It appears to be unlined even on the model–it just sits up higher on the model’s torso

          • lobsterlen

I disagree. It was lined on the runway from the waist down. Look at that shoulder area pink. The middle is beige. Also there is crease in the lining.

    • SewingSiren

Not my favorite. But it’s a damn sight better when it is lined.

    • stubbornthoughts

Sadly unflattering, and it looks very drafty.

    • unbornfawn

This is a fierce dress. It is not HER dress. She looks a little embarrassed to be wearing it. This is one of those dresses where you have to own it with attitude.

    • maggiemaybe

Cute, but I really wish she was wearing a slip. Like, really really. I’m just worried that I’m accidentally going to see something I don’t want to see, y’know?

    • marilyn

She needs shoes with attitude for that dress.

    • jmorino08

Every time I look at these pictures, I think of Austin Powers’ Fem Bots with their machine gun nips

Also, whoever did her sad hair should be ashamed of themselves

    • Tatiana Luján

love the idea of this dress. Hate it in real life.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1208138556 Sara Munoz Munoz

      Nope. Not working for me.

    • capybara_cafe

This dress looks like something I’d have made for a Barbie as an 8 year old, using a metallic pipe cleaner, mesh produce bag, and some duct tape.

    • crash1212

      Horribly unflattering.

    • Trisha26

So strange that this partially transparent/belly-button exposing/chain-mail dress looks conservative.

    • TheAmericaness

Something about her belly button showing in that “slot” makes her proportions all wonky.

    • demidaemon

I don’t like this at all. Sheer + mesh + colorblocking= hot mess WTF.

    • shellbelle

Is anyone else getting a Nicole Kidman vibe from the severe center part and overly smooth forehead?

    • kathrineb

      Not pretty.

    • Anniebet

      Spray painted screen door?

    • http://asskickingadviser.com/ Ass Kicking Adviser

Love it! Edgy but not vulgar. Age appropriate but still so very super-shiny-Kylie!
