I like it, but it looks more and more nightgown-y the more I scroll down.

  • jilly_d

I like the dress but “The Reluctant Fundamentalist” reminds me of Jenna’s “the Rural Juror” from 30 Rock. Not sure which title is worse.

  • PastryGoddess

Ms Kate has been working it out the last few months. Looks like someone is ready to jump start their career non?

  • another_laura

Not bad for a sweaterdress in April, but those shoes are a no-go for me. The movie name sure is a turn-off: Sounds like a RomCom title but I have a feeling it’s supposed to be A Drama.

  • eowyn_of_rohan

I hope the sequel is called “The Wishy-Washy Misogynist.”

  • IMNAngryLiberal

Katie looks faboo, but I agree that some other shoe would have been better. I like the copper shoes the model is wearing (just the color, not the style).

  • EditKitten

The next-to-last pic of her is near-perfection. Bit too wintery-looking for my taste on the whole, but she looks pretty gorgeous.

  • AlisonS

Damn, she looks like her mom in that first picture. For it being a long white bedazzled sweater, it’s a nice look.

  • Love it. Wintertime fabulous.

  • I kind of love this, but it screams “Holiday Party” to me, not “almost Memorial Day.” It’s a fab look and she looks great, but I wish she’d gone with some color on her face.

  • BrooklynBomber

Great dress and more than a touch of Goldie-ness.

  • stubbornthoughts

Oh I really, really love this.

  • crash1212

Shoulda been a WERQ. Perfection from top of her head to the well chosen shoes. Really pretty.

  • Imasewsure

Hate the shoes hate the hair but the dress is ski lodge fab to me

  • Rhonda Shore

She needs lipstick. And I mean color on her lips, not a neutral shade.

  • charlotte

…starring Taylor Swift. Part III: The Part-Time Feminist. Plot: Tay-Tay gets invited to an ominous tea party and a fairy that looks like Tina Fey tries to stop her.

  • Love it. Love the ease of it, love that it’s classy without being stuffy. Love that it’s a sexy cold weather look without being layers of bundles. Love it all.

  • Rrroza

It’s a really chilly spring so far!

  • Janet B

Is it appropriate to wear a long sleeve sweater dress in April?
Some days I can’t help but complain.

  • Tatiana Luján

I wish this dress was shorter, it was worn with tights and booties and it was worn in december.

  • butterflysunita

I think the dress is a great solution to the dilemma: what do you wear when it’s late April but still 45 degrees? I like that she wore something weather appropriate so she’s not freezing, but the white makes it more springlike.

  • kimmeister

Love the dress. I’ve been on a mission for years to find a sweaterdress that isn’t above the knee and that’s in a knit that won’t stretch out weird when you sit, and have come up empty. This would fit the bill!

  • I really like this.

  • MilaXX

this is doing nothing to change my dislike of white shoes.

  • That was my first thought.

  • formerlyAnon

I wonder if she’ll always favor white. It’s such an unusual color to default to. Neither here nor there, though. She looks good in this, it manages to look very sleek and the lord knows that’s what one wants in a sweater dress but doesn’t always get.

  • This screams December to me. I seriously thought it was a cable sweater dress. Which actually makes me love it MORE but not in April.

  • I love it, and it makes me sad that it’s perfectly appropriate to the current NYC weather. Not her fault, though.

  • I love a sweater dress, but I don’t think the world needs a bedazzled one unless you are filming a Very Special Christmas Episode.

    • decormaven

Yes, this is the perfect outfit for the King Family Holiday Showcase. For an indie film premiere in the spring, not so much.

  • fursa_saida

I just wish she would wear ANYTHING that wasn’t white.

  • E. D.

Like the shoes and the bag, hate everything else. The dress looks OK on the model, but if someone as thin as Kate Hudson starts to look thick, then it’s a runway look and nothing else.

  • KR

I feel like this dress would make an excellent Frosty the Snowman costume…

  • Rand Ortega

In December I would’ve lost my mind over this dress. Now it seems a bit out of season. Love the makeup & hair.

  • rkdgal

I have to wonder if this is really a sweater dress, or the beads just mimic that effect. It’s a great idea either way!

  • gabbilevy

I feel like there was a way to make this dress work for April. It did not involve a white shoe and frosty makeup.

    • ankali

Distressed leather booties in brown, I think. Might have taken it too casual for a premiere, but I think the sparkle could compensate. My clothes are always as wintry as I can get away with, though, so I’m probably not the ideal stylist for this look.

  • I do like the dress, but I feel like it would be better suited for Sundance with a different shoe.

  • Or “The Rural Juror”.

  • Sunraya

I love this for winter, looks winter white. Just not for April.

  • This is something a housewife would wear to a party in the hamptoms and think she’s being witty….

  • My thought exactly. It’s the World’s. Fanciest. Cable-Knit. Sweater.

Wrap it in tissue and save it for next Christmas.

  • Jacqueline Wessel

Looks like a really long sweater, so it feels like a bottom piece is missing. She looks great in it though…could have used more colorful shoes.

  • It’s an odd choice for April but….this is a stunning dress. She looks fabulous in it. I want it.

  • This. I unqualifiedly love this dress, so much that the shoes don’t bug.

  • Looking perfect in a white knitten dress? No problem for miss Kate.

  • Louise Bryan

It may not appear quite in season, but I think she looks absolutely gorgeous here.

  • This girl can rock white dresses.

  • Trisha26

Pretty. Wish she was a better actress…

  • guest2visits

I think this works really well for her, even the white shoes aren’t bad. This looks warm though, a sweater dress in April?

  • Carrieanno

I can’t get past the fact that it’s April and she’s dressed for Sparklefest at the upstate ski lodge.

  • quiltrx

I bet she bought this for Christmastime and lost it in her mammoth closet, and just now found it and had that “why haven’t I worn this???” moment.

  • Mlzx

    Pancake batter.

  • demidaemon

I would like this better if she had broken up the column of white somewhere (shoes are my first instinct.) I also think it looks and photographs well straight on, but the side shots show where it isn’t as flattering as it could be. It also looks really, really heavy and hot.

  • drdarke

I thought you meant the dress, @eowyn_of_rohan:disqus ….

  • unbornfawn

I kinda like it. Too bad she didn’t have a little more fun with the shoes or the handbag.

  • H2olovngrl

I always think she looks stunning in white. I love this.

  • Nice dress, but the color doesn’t flatter Kate. She looks washed out. I don’t think the dress would look as rich in another color though.

  • bellafigura1

I think this probably looks a lot better in person but it looks like a stretched out sweater in the photographs. I do like the white though.

  • ankali

Stunning on the runway, a big ole nothing on Kate. I’ll be kind and wonder if the flashbulbs are just washing out some of the detailing that makes the dress so pretty.

  • Why is she wearing a white, heavy, 70s-esque sweater dress that is washing her OUT?

  • DesertDweller79

It was a best selling novel.

  • Sacrificial virgin, updated for our 21st-century sensibilities.
