What horrid, helmet-y hair.

And now, may we see Christina Hendricks in this dress?

    • kayleymaybe

You guys just make my day, every day. Going to see if I can work some alliteration into this legal brief I’m writing now…

      • formerlyAnon

Gotta admit I do stuff like that (though law is not my field) just to entertain myself. Sometimes I wonder if anyone notices.

        • cowper

Every day is better with a little alliteration (or assonance, as the case may be!)

          • demidaemon

As an English professor, I am loving the use of literary terminology today.

    • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

Thank for this morning’s evil grin. You’re such caring gay uncles!

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000905542323 Rhonda Shore

She should never cut her hair like Charlize Theron! Love the dress and its color.

    • Introspective

why go period with the hair when the dress already references the mad men era. that hair is fug, which is a shame cause this dress fits her like gangbusters.

    • http://twitter.com/Moondragonic Charlotte

Oh, massive case of shoe envy!

    • Anna Vasquez

      Azackly.

      • teensmom99

My comment was going to be “She’s wearing Joan’s dress.” It’s neat for her to show off her style versatility and that she can do more than mod.

    • http://twitter.com/foodycatAlicia foodycatAlicia

      That was exactly my wish!

      First thought – that’s a Joan dress.

      I covet.

Those shoes look like they feel like all kinds of hell.

      • mightbewrong

But oh man, they are pretty.

        • MissAmynae

drooling over here. They are gorgeous.

    • jw_ny

I had to do a search on her…couldn’t recall what she typically looks like. She has lovely hair…this style is awful, and aging. She’s only 33! The dress is perfect on her, as well the shoe. Too bad about that helmet…ruined an otherwise really good look.

    • Sobaika

Ooooooooo that bright blue and her coloring…? Perfection.

    • ringthing

*sigh* It’s very difficult to please our opinionated gay uncles, who are craftsmen of the highest order. I think she looks great.

    • PastryGoddess

Is this a case of scroll up fug? That hair is all sorts of hideous. However, those shoes would make me cut a bitch in a minute

      • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

        Me too. LOVE those shoes.

    • http://dontmakeitlikeimdumb.blogspot.com/ annabelle archer

I thought she looked AHmazing, yet totally in character. Is that wrong?

    • MilaXX

      That hair is just aging

    • MilaXX

BTW, Christina Hendricks is on Kelly & Michael and looks pretty good.

    • momogus

I don’t know – I think she looks fabulous from head to toe. I don’t mind the helmet-y hair because it looks sleek and keeps the silhouette sharp.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1050504936 Therese Bohn

Well, from the forehead down, she’d perfection. Yeah, the hair’s a little helmet-y, but the rest makes up for it.

Christina Hendricks was on The Daily Show last night, I hope we’ll see her too.

The hair kind of ruins t. Everything else is lovely.

    • mmc2315

I agree about the hair, but my other thought was this shade of green is not her best color.

    • Chartreusite

Love the combination of trim and color on the dress. Agreed that the hair definitely isn’t serving her well.

    • nannypoo

I don’t think this is flattering at all. And that hair is inexcusable.

    • http://www.facebook.com/maevmacc Maev Mac Coille

Every time I see her I think how much better she looks without all the Mad Men make-up – she really does have fantastic colour, and it’s obscured by all the slap they have her wear.

    • BrooklynBomber

Plus confusingly off-kilter collar and cuffs.

    • ballerinawithagun

Love the dress, hate the gold buttons at the neckline and slit.

    • myristica_fragrans

the accessories and the styling make her look old.

    • formerlyAnon

It’s sharp and stylish, but it’s not doing all that much for her. Maybe I’m unduly influenced by the hair. But I don’t think so.
      Killer shoes.

    • poggi

Love the dress and shoes. She has lovely, uniform brown hair but pulled back like this it does look like a helmet. Someone with more more high and low lights would probably look better in this hairstyle.

    • RinPauler

Shoes are obviously fierce as cage-fighting chickens but they do look hellish to walk in

    • stubbornthoughts

Damn that hair. How dare it tarnish the overall perfection of this ensemble!

    • http://profiles.google.com/sauchih Sau-Chih Feng

She needs Bitch Face lessons from Lady Bitch Face January Jones.

    • Julie

      gimme that dress!

    • http://www.facebook.com/bert.keeter Bert Keeter

For L’Wren it’s pretty good…her stuff usually looks like “loving hands at home” up close. As far as the hair, have to see more than one shot to dis it!

    • barbarienne

But her hair matches her shoes!

    • appliquer

      The dress is too long.

    • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

Love the dress, but I wish she had it hemmed to where it hits the model. The shoes are fierce, too. HAAAAATE the hair. And… I hate her “sultry, sexy open-mouth” face, but her “giant smile” face is a little scary.

    • AnneElliot

This look is ruined for me because she NEEDS A BRA. Seriously, those girls need some support!! I could ignore the helmet hair if she had a foundation garment under that long smooth expanse of solid green.

    • ccm800

good lawd that close up is jarring.

    • gracedarling

I think, like me, she cannot really wear eye make-up at all. I know they throw a ton of it on her on Mad Men, but that’s for period specificity rather than anything else – and she looks so beautiful with a bare face, I kind of don’t want to see her wearing anything other than lipstick. I’m surprised her stylist hasn’t gone the Marisa Tomei route with her – ie downplayed (but gorgeous) face, sculptural yet casual clothes. She really is one of the most striking women on the red carpet, so it’s a pity she keeps getting shoved into 50s/60s drag…

    • m0r0

I’d like her to learn to smile showing less gums. Then all would be fine.

    • oldbobbydraper

that color is perfect on her. love those shoes too.

    • http://marshmallowjane.com/ marshmallowjane

      Perfect.

    • kathrineb

Love this dress (fab colour) on her and great shoes!
