Jessica Paré for ELLE Canada

Posted on April 02, 2013

We know a lot of Mad Men fans don’t love her, but any gal who can land an Elle cover with the tagline “I STILL CAN’T FUCKING BELIEVE I’M MRS. DRAPER” is a gal we can’t help but cheer on a little.

‘Mad Men’ star Jessica Paré covers the March 2013 issue of ELLE Canada magazine in a Denis Gagnon dress photographed by John Vander Schilden and styled by Rita Liefhebber.

On the hate towards her character Megan: “How can you not love Megan? I do. People will react to me as an actor, though. Everybody has their opinions – I’m the worst about, like, ‘Oh, I don’t like that actress’ for no reason. So I understand that, but I think the character is fantastic. She’s so spontaneous and genuine.”

On singing “Zou Bisou Bisou:” “I knew the song was catchy when I started working on that episode and everybody in the production office was singing it incessantly, and then I was singing it for about six weeks and then everybody in the cast was singing it for the next two. Hats off to Matt Weiner for choosing something that would capture people’s imaginations in such a great way.”

We don’t know.. she seems fun and real. And she gives good face.

Which is the better look? We like the Phillip Lim dress more, but she’s giving better face in the Denis Gagnon.

I love her! She seems cool, fun, and refreshing. Her bone structure, however, is hate-inducing. Wow, she looks good in both. Love the Phillip Lim dress

    • jilly_d

There is something a little…..off about her bone structure, but I think it’s why she’s so refreshing in the role. She’s beautiful but not cookie-cutter.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=621425764 Heather Smith

er — just the opposite. I like HER, as an actress (she seems *normal* — for NOW), but Megan….she seems petulant, and flip, and….vanilla……

  • schadenfreudelicious

the Denis Gagnon top certainly looks better on her than the model

    • jilly_d

      TRUTH

    • Little_Olive

      Yeah, the model looks… hollow

      • CakesOnAPlane

…and also a little like Arya from Game of Thrones?

      • Frank Lithium

        Those eyes… shudder.

    • MK03

The runway version’s fit is atrocious. It looks like it’s about to fall right off the model.

      • H3ff

It’s like a PR challenge in which the designers have 15 minutes to create a cocktail hour look out of nothing but grey sweatpants.

        • Vlasta Bubinka

I was about to say oversized sweatshirt redo.

        • ballerinawithagun

Updated Norma Kamali OMO, everyone wore it!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

It is Megan I do not like. I think Jessica here is quite lovely. And finally, they captured the beauty of her face.

  • Violina23

Megan’s not my favorite character by far, but I never got the vehement hatred. The character challenges Don in a way that even Don didn’t anticipate. I like that she’s not Betty 2.0 and unintentionally highlights how much the world around Don is changing, despite him staying essentially the same. Her character can be immature & selfish at times, sure, but so can a lot of characters on this show.

Love the photos, she looks much fresher than the promo shots.

    • theblondette

Yes, this is so true! Sometimes Mad Men feels like The Don Show and while he’s a great character, having someone who shows that the world really ISN’T all about Don is helpful!

I wasn’t keen on Megan at first, when she was just the sweet girl who liked the kids – when she was Don’s fantasy – but as soon as she got to be a character in her own right I thought she was awesome. Plus her clothes rock.

      • Violina23

Exactly — Don married her as an impulse to fulfill a fantasy. He probably thought she would be a subservient secretary for his personal life, but low and behold, she’s no Betty and wasn’t going to just stop being who she was for the honor of being Mrs. Don Draper. But that, to me, is a lot of what Season 5 represented — Don has the prestige & the grandeur to his name, but as everyone else is changing and adjusting to the times, he’s just staying stagnant, and I think he knows that and, in a way, is desperately clinging to it. I wonder if he’d even put up with Megan if she was his first wife in the late 50′s/early 60′s. I don’t anticipate a happy ending for Don, but I hope it isn’t TOO tragic, because all in all, we’re still rooting for the guy (kinda sorta), right?

        • theblondette

It’s interesting because with Megan, Don’s impulses are at war with themselves. One: she was the fantasy, the opportunity for a do-over, the wife who could be what he hoped Betty would be (and tbh probably was, before he basically crushed her over time). Two: she was the route into the new, strange world of the late 60s, the woman who made him feel young again. Megan was a chance for him to cling to the past AND move forward, and it seemed like Don shifted uneasily between those two paths. He seemed to choose the second, ultimately, but it’s not a struggle that’s over.

          • http://www.tumblr.com/tumblelog/lastbutnotleast janinedm

I don’t think Megan is in any way a Betty do-over. Betty, with her old money background, was proof that he wasn’t Dick Whitman. He told Megan right away about his past and wanted to bring her into his work. I believe he truly wanted her as a partner, but the weakness was that he has such a rigid concept of what the partnership would look like.

    • http://twitter.com/chylde chylde

I have always liked her. I’m just not sure what people were expecting for Don, another Betty? Nah.

    • alice20c

Megan’s a folly eating up focus that should be allotted to Joan and Peggy, or Betty or Sally. Can’t stand the actress either. Always so self-satisfied and smug. Yuk.

  • crash1212

I love both looks and I love Megan. I was not aware that “Megan Hate” was a thing.

  • another_laura

I’m going with the Lim because wow, that is some ugly Denis Gagnon. The Philip Lim gives a very weird optical illusion on the runway, doesn’t it?

    • Coolekat

      Casper the friendly ghost?

  • teensmom99

I love her! (I see that’s a theme here) and I think she’s told us all we need to know: Meghan is spontaneous and real. On the other hand, while she has a great body, the body in the Philip Lim is too photoshopped for my taste.

  • lobsterlen

Megan is a wonderful character. Jessica is a beautiful woman. It seems her overbite offends some. I have an overbite. It is actually refreshing to see someone with “natural” teeth. I’d forgotten human beings don’t come with perfect porcelain teeth. Natalie Zea’s character on Justified is hated too.Don’t really understand that either. This maybe an oversimplification jealousy?

    • MilaXX

OMG season finale tonight, Cannot wait!

    • filmcricket

I’ve only seen the first 2 seasons of Justified, but I loathed the Natalie Zea character because she kept doing inexplicably stupid things in S2 that kept distracting Raylan from doing his job. And I also didn’t feel we got too much insight into Raylan from his interactions with her. Megan, OTOH – her storyline on its own is maybe not the most interesting, but what the character brings out in Don is fascinating.

    • http://twitter.com/TigerLaverada TigerLaverada

I like Megan, and I think Pare does a good job with the character. She’s a different generation (attitudinally, anyway) from the other characters, and in the 60s generational differences were a significant cultural issue.

Justified! I LOVE that show. Wynonna is kind of a PIA of a character, and I don’t understand how she can reject Raylan. I’d be putty in his hands. :)

    • http://marshmallowjane.com/ marshmallowjane

I think an overbite with nice teeth can be beautiful. Many beautiful actresses and models have an overbite, at least a slight one. I have an overbite, too. But think about what this can represent. An overbite can come from sucking your thumb or fingers as a child. Just tell the men in your life that you grew up with an oral fixation. Nothing offensive about that. :-)

  • zelavie

Props to the stylist for seeing potential in that hideous gray thing – it looks fantastic on the cover!

  • Beth513

My BFF and I have this fight all the time. She is a Megan hater and I think she is a neat character. All of the MM characters have flaws and she is no exception, but I think the character adds depth and an interesting perspective. I don’t love her like I love Peggy or Joan (who both have some serious flaws), but I do like her. Did I mention I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE PREMIER!!!?

Jessica looks fab here, very Megan made current.

  • H2olovngrl

I have not one bad thing to say about her or the character. Megan is always true to herself and I think just a generally nice person. I think a lot of people feel no one is good enough for Don Draper. Just speculating…

    • MK03

Nope. I think Rachel Menken was a perfect match for him. Shame he royally fucked up…

      • H2olovngrl

I forgot about Rachel. As much as I liked her, I don’t think she would’ve been able to forgive his flaws the way Megan does. I think she is TOO good for him. I also doubt she would have been comfortable as a home wrecker. And yes, he totally screwed that up!

  • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

She’s not my favorite, but she’s killing it in the grey dress. It looks better on her than on the model.

  • thecitysleeps

I love the Denis Gagnon dress cover especially. She looks amazing. She seems like a fun person.

  • MilaXX

She deserves all the props for taking that sad sack Denis Gagnon and making it look good.

    • cowper

      Sideways view helps, doesn’t it?

      • http://twitter.com/kerryev kerryev

Yes, as does filling it out. But a lot of things would help that garment.

      • MilaXX

yes but it also helps that she has the boobs to fill out that dress as well

      • Jacqueline Wessel

It also helps that we’re not seeing the whole dress.

  • cowper

    Cheekbone city!

    • conniemd

to die for. If I was going to get plastic surgery, I’d want cheekbones like that rather than big boobs.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Josefina-Madariaga-Suárez/100002964685796 Josefina Madariaga Suárez

I love her, I love Megan and I love both looks here.

  • Little_Olive

    I love Megan.

And I really like Jessica form what I’ve seen.

She is wearing the sh*t outta that dress on the cover. The model won’t know what hit her.

  • lindsmh

She’s an actress who has her own irrational hate list. What’s not to love?

    • H3ff

      I wonder who’s on it…

  • http://www.two-halves.com/ Michelle Le

I love her, and love that she understands the irrational hatred of a celebrity for no reason.

  • gdougs

    That is SO her hair

  • Pants_are_a_must

Rocking both looks. You go gurl.

  • http://twitter.com/kerryev kerryev

I don’t hate Megan & Jessica seems great, but in season 5 I don’t think I yet cared about her character as much as Matthew Weiner thought I did.

    • Pennymac

      This!

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=572633200 Tanzina Ahmed

Yes, we were just drowned with oodles and oodles and oodles of her, as though we’d learn to love her just as much as we cared about more established characters if only we were exposed enough to her. Sorry, Matt Weiner — your creepy obsession with her did NOT transfer onto me.

    • MK03

Megan and Glenn are his two biggest missteps. They’re highly divisive characters at best, yet he keeps foisting them on us.

  • Christopher Melchiors

I had no clue anybody disapproved of either Megan or Jessica. As a character Megan makes perfect sense as Don’s second wife: she combines the libertine spirit and intelligence he sought in Midge and Rachel but as a wife has the honesty and forgiving nature that Betty could (understandably) never muster. I mean, I’m not saying they’ll stay together. Frankly Megan represents everything Don needs but is completely unprepared for. And I think Jessica’s acting has been on par with the others, which is pretty admirable considering this intimidating, seasoned cast.

  • mellorcr

She looks better in the Phillip Lim dress, but I think it’s really a matter of the camera angle. Both these dresses have serious problems when viewed full on… The first makes it look like her bust is the muzzle of some strange animal, and the second distorts the proportions so it looks like the wearer has a giant head on a tiny little ET body…. at least when you put a model in it.

  • http://twitter.com/PsychicMuppet Joanna Carver

I don’t hate Jessica Pare. She seems perfectly nice. But I do hate Megan. And not because of her teeth.

  • marilyn

She made both of those dresses look great. It must just be the pose. The gray dress looks weird: Heavy fabric, it looks almost like suit wool. Then, the top is sleeveless. A juxtaposition that is not necessarily positive. But, she made it look good. The second dress makes the runway model’s figure look droopy. She gave it the shape it needed to look great. So, is it good posing or her shape that does it?.

    • Chantelle James

Neither – it’s clothespins and photoshop.

  • rubigirl

Love both the actress and the character. I just realized that, at times, Alyssa Edwards from RPDR looks like an older and more made up Jessica Pare!

    • Jacqueline Wessel

      HA! I see that.

  • http://twitter.com/doesmonaknow DoesMonaKnow

Jessica seems like a nice enough person, but I’m not a fan of Megan. The idea of her (Don choosing the young, “carefree” woman who makes him feel like he’s perfect over someone his own age urging him to fix himself) made total sense, but the execution has left a lot to be desired.

Megan feels so out of place on the show to me. The other major female characters are an array of women having to come to terms with their personal desires/dreams vs. society’s gendered expectations for them. Megan? She was a secretary who became a copywriter because she married the boss, but then she was able to quit and pursue her acting dream because she had a rich, older husband supporting her, and even if she failed, would still have a penthouse over her head. She’s representing the “mod” woman? We’re supposed to suddenly care about this woman’s struggles, when that takes away airtime from other, better-drawn female (and male) characters?

On a different show, I wouldn’t have a problem being invested in Megan’s relationship with her parents and her unfulfilled acting dreams. Coming in the fifth season of Mad Men, it was a puzzling, meandering detour. I also think JP’s acting is not up to par for the more intense scenes she is given, but I don’t have a problem with her playing the “sunnier” aspects of Megan’s personality. I have seen it suggested elsewhere that if Peyton List hadn’t already been Jane, that she would have made a very good Megan. I would still think the writing was poor, but wouldn’t find the dramatic scenes with Don quite so cringeworthy.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=572633200 Tanzina Ahmed

I totally agree. I just feel as though Megan’s struggles are simply far less interesting and rooted in the era than the struggles of Betty, Joan, and Peggy. I don’t much care about her marriage to Don — frankly, I think she’d be better off ditching that sinking boat ASAP — and her random “A Star Is Born”-esque plot to become an ACTRESS instead of a less accomplished trophy wife is just… dull and seems to come out of nowhere.

I had problems with Season 5 for reasons going beyond Megan but her sudden, heavy inclusion in the show and the corresponding lack of time given to the female characters I loved didn’t help. I really hope they reduce her screen-time this season.

And honestly, I don’t think much of Jessica Pare as an actress either. She’s very pretty (no complaints about her teeth from me) and I think she’s charming enough when she’s playing Megan as a light-hearted, optimistic free spirit. But when she’s trying to act out the heavy dramatic scenes? Oooh boy, she’s just NOT up to the standards of the rest of the (ludicrously talented, mind you) cast. Remember her drunken fit in last season’s finale? And how Megan immediately walked into a table as soon as she got up and started slurring her words like she was in a cheap SNL Lindsay Lohan sketch? That was just… bad, bad, bad campy acting. I felt embarrassed just watching her in that scene!

    • MK03

THIS. She doesn’t have to work for anything, and when she’s actually faced with a challenge, she just calls in a favor from her loaded and well-connected husband. I’m expected to root for her when I have Joan and Peggy? I don’t think so.

    • Tom Shea

We have no idea what kind of woman Megan represents, “mod” or otherwise. We’ve barely seen the actress-with-rich-husband storyline work for her yet, so don’t let’s jump to conclusions.
I like her. I don’t get the hatred, much of which seemed to stem from her grillwork and the fact that she appears to se the anti-Betty.

    • alice20c

You are so eloquently on-point. I’m always dumbfounded by the idea that I’m supposed to be interested in her “struggles”. Count me out. I’d rather hear about Joan, Peggy or Sally. The actress is comparatively weak to the rest of the cast. It throws me out of the story sometimes. Plus, I find her personality in interviews annoying.

  • flamingoNW

She looks about 5000% better than the model in that grey dress. I like her and I like her character. She does a good job.

  • lrober03

I like the first one better because her cheekbones don’t look so severe, but it looks like they photoshopped her teeth, and I don’t like that.

  • minnye

    LOVE the silver bracelet!

  • http://twitter.com/aidanboleyn Aidan B

I think she looks goddamn fabulous here! Her cheekbones…to DIE. I missed most of last season due to moving and not having AMC, so I don’t really understand where the Megan hate is coming from. From what I saw, she was interesting because she actually stood up to Don and he was taken aback by that; he thought he was marrying a sexier version of Maria Von Trapp.

  • PastryGoddess

I’m going with the Philip Lim. Girl is giving some serious FACE

  • Lizzyisi

That cover dress is gorgeous. Full stop. I want it for wearing to important meetings.

  • http://www.facebook.com/sheneve Sheneve Butler

She is gorgeous. I’m not a huge Megan fan (I liked her at first, but there was just too much of her last season). Loved Jessica on Jack and Bobby.

  • jmorino08

    Holy cheek bones!!

  • OrigamiRose

I’m very distracted by why there is an “Oscar Special!” feature in March.

  • Orange Girl

Looks like a 90′s supermodel in the 2nd pic. Love!

  • http://twitter.com/thejackanory Charles

I love Megan, she has been a real foil and compliment to Don. She’s slightly crazy but up until she asked for Don’s help, she was one of the strongest characters. She does give good face on the covers, but always does that teeth out, lips open thing.

  • Trisha26

For me, she’s very self-aware as an actress and very weak, so I don’t believe a single thing I’m seeing on screen, it all seems like an act. As for the covers, she’s got bone structure, curves and a precious gap in her teeth. Meh.

    • harlowish

Yeah, I don’t have a problem with Megan as a character. I just don’t think Pare is a good enough actress to sell it. And I don’t hate her for it, I just watch her scenes and think she’s not convincing. And that is not something I am able to say about the cast of “Mad Men” very frequently.

      • http://www.facebook.com/evie.michael Evie Michael

I feel the same way. Jessica Pare seems like a lovely person, I think she’s beautiful. But her acting chops are no where near the level of the other cast members, which is really annoying. And her struggles were not compelling for me at all.

TLo, I’m curious, do you guys think she is a good actress?

  • http://www.ellenciompi.com/ NurseEllen

I prefer everything about the Elle Canada cover: its uncluttered look, the lines of the dress, the colors, and the way Jessica Pare looks. Nice job.

  • Tara

I adore her. She looks like the love child of Freddie Mercury and Toni Collette. Fabulous.

  • Donna Tabor

She looks way better in the cover look than the model does, doesn’t she?

  • http://twitter.com/dexySuperTan Dexy Super Tan

is it just me or she kind of looks like a toned down Alyssa Edwards

  • http://www.facebook.com/candice.booth.79 Candice Booth

I actually like her character and I think she gives Don what he needs to stay interested. Is that Denis Gagnon dress heather grey sweatshirt material because if it is I adore it. This is my first time posting but I’ve been lurking for a year. TLo and all of you posters have entertained me for hours on end. I am gonna go out my two cents in on Drag Race.

  • Jessi03

She lookks AMAZING in the Gagnon, but the Lim is definitely a cuter dress.

  • Eva_baby

I think Jessica is lovely. But yeah dislike Megan. And I blame it all on the writers/Weiner. Rather than letting the character grow organically, i have always felt the writers positioned Megan to be the obvious & rather studied Anit-Betty. She didn’t feel natural as a character but rather calculatedly manufactured. Nobody else on the show feels like that. Not even Kinsey and that is saying something.

  • http://www.facebook.com/bert.keeter Bert Keeter

DG is unflattering. PL dress has been around the block more times than L Lohan! Not exactly runway news!

  • buddy100

She looks beautiful. I certainly hope that her reputation as Weiner’s turkey, as described by some of the less cordial critics, doesn’t hinder her career. I feel a lot of the problem with her performance as Megan is in the writing. I couldn’t pick up what it was, but finally it dawned: Megan feels a lot like a Mary-Sue fanfic character. She walks in, impresses everyone, is good at everything, becomes the center of attention, catches the heart of the elusive leading man, and furthermore completely changes him. In a world of highly complex characters that are often morally ambiguous, where the viewers are challenged to find them alternately likable and unsympathetic, Megan just falls flat.

So yeah. I like Jessica and I hope that she doesn’t entirely get the blame for failing to develop a product of poor writing. I do think she needs to sharpen her acting chops a bit, but she should get the chance to grow and build from here.

  • http://twitter.com/jaythenerdkid Aaminah Khan

She needs to hire that make-up artist full-time. Her face is always god-awfully done on the RC.

  • Cz

She looks so much like Kelly LeBrock in that second pic. If they ever remake Weird Science, she should totally go for the part!

  • http://www.facebook.com/AdriannaGrezak Adrianna Grężak

    She’s quite striking.

  • jorinde

I believe I dislike Megan because of what Don did to Faye in that moment. Irrationally I hated Faye in the beginning, but getting to know her a little changed that: I could see Faye’s insecurenesses, her attempt to appear strong but be vulnerable inside. Megan has her own insecurenesses, of course, but I don’t get them nor could I ever identify with them in the way I can identify with Faye’s.

But anyway I think I hate all of Don’s mistresses, except one. Not out of jealousy, I believe, but out of my adoration for Rachel Mencken. If I ever had some kind of role model in the Mad Men characters, it was Rachel. Her vulnerability yet pride and grace really touched me. Helps that I think she’s beautiful as hell.

    • Angela_the_Librarian

I totally agree with you about Don’s crappy treatment of Faye. I think she was just too intellectually challenging for him and wouldn’t have put up with his selfishness. Megan’s not a door mat by any means, but I think she acquiesces to Don more readily than Faye would have. I was so heart broken for her when he called to not only break up with her but also tell her that he was getting married to the secretary :-p

      • jorinde

too intellectually challenging, that might be, but I think the main reason is just that Megan is much much stronger than Faye. Faye knows what she wants and she can act strong, but she has to act that strong because she’s not very secure inside. She needed Don much more than Megan did – and, I think, still does. Megan didn’t really want Don, she just let it happen. She had the inner knowledge that if it wouldn’t be Don, it would be someone else. Maybe it’s because of her youth, but I don’t think that’s the only reason. I just think, she has that princess – confidence of someone who knows that others will always be there for them. Whereas Faye has the understanding that she has to do all by herself.
(I still remember the comment coming from that old secretary of Don’s: “She’s pushy, that one!”)

Megan lacks confidence in other areas though. In areas in which Faye was confident.
That’s at least how it all appeared to me.

  • Angela_the_Librarian

I prefer the second dress (the first dress reminds me of lint for some reason). As for Megan, I think she is a fine character in small doses. I think she was over utilized last season and that was the chief reason why people got sick of her. To be honest I’m just more interested in the office dynamics and maybe Don’s evolving relationship with Betty and his kids.

  • http://twitter.com/MinaBinaXina MinaBinaXina

Love her. Love Megan. Haters can keep on keepin’ on.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/37TPKASIMXVUPYK5BNQFOL43KU Carina

You captured my feelings exactly – gorgeous, fun and real. Can’t get enough of this girl. Megan rocks my world.

  • RebeccaKW

I think she looks great here. Sometimes, her eyes and her teeth (both of which I love) can overwhelm the rest of her face, but they found a good balance here. She looks great in both dresses, but man that poor Gagnon model.

  • Jasmaree

I don’t think she’s the best actress, but she seems nice enough.

  • http://www.facebook.com/judy.julian77 Judy Julian

She makes that Gagnon dress look great, as opposed to the runway model who makes it look like yesterday’s gym clothes. I suspect a lot of the Megan hate stems from the fact that she got promoted too quickly. Her character wasn’t around as long as some of Don’s other love (or lust) interests. She didn’t really “pay her dues” so to speak.

  • tereliz

Jessica Paré knows how to wear clothes, that’s for sure. She is putting both those models to shame. Neither one is an easy dress to wear, but I think she looks prettier in the Gagnon photo. She looks fierce as hell in the Lim, except… I feel that the retouching is making her head look too big for her neck.

While I don’t dislike the character of Megan, or Paré’s acting, I do agree with other kittens who feel her character became too emphasized in season 5. Especially when her whole character arc seemed, at the end of the last episode, like a plot device to get Don to act in a certain way, to feel certain emotions. I never really became emotionally invested in her story.

  • Indigo54

That gray top is killer from the side. From the front – just weird! Would it have killed them to give the model some padding?

  • ThaliaMenninger

Both dresses look better on her than on the model. Huh. I guess I’ll have to give Jessica her due for modeling the heck out of those looks and giving good face, as well.

  • beebee10

i think Megan is an interesting character to introduce for Don. Of course she’s not perfect, nor is she what Don fantasizes her to be. She is current and so alien do Don that he is off balance. As other’s have said, he’s not changing. Plus, I think viewers like the “work” plots more than the “home” plots. The characters and the dynamics at work are more compelling on the show, I think.

  • Kicky

The problem I had with Megan is that everything about her relationship with Don and her “struggles” as an actor seem really low stakes. If she and Don get a divorce, so what? They both seem to have so little invested in their relationship that I can’t see how it would be a huge blow to either of them if they separated. Megan’s struggle to succeed as an actor seemed so insignificant and silly. She was trying to get work for what, 5 months? It’s not like she had to worry about paying the rent while she was going on auditions, and she even got a callback for a Broadway play. Her situation wasn’t remotely dire, and yet we were supposed to take her breakdown seriously? Everything about Megan and Don seemed so petty and small, and yet it took up the lion’s share of screen time when other characters were being ignored.

The Denis Gagnon is ugly. Hate the fabric. i don’t really understand the hate for her character. I love how she sticks it to Don once in a while. I think it keeps his attention and he needs his bell rung. Frequently.

Love her non-perfect teeth and real boobs and that’s a compliment

I love her. And Megan. I honestly never realized so many people disliked her. And I like the cover photo better.

I have always loved Megan and have honestly never understand the vitriol leveled against that character. She’s the 60′s to Betty’s 50′s. She’s always seemed like a breath of fresh air to me. Jessica Pare seems cool, and of course she’s a knockout. Personally prefer the Philip Lim as well, but actually think she’s rocking the Denis Gagnon even more, tho all we’re seeing is the top third.

I love Jessica as Mrs. Draper. She’s the only genuine part of Don’s life. Don seems lifeless. Unless he quits drinking–can’t see that happening–he’ll hold Megan back. Jessica is beautiful. The clothes look way better on her than the runway, but her poses may hide any fit problems. I hated Zou Bisou Bisou. I hated it when the episode aired. I hate it now.

She is giving Alyssa Edwards overbite realness in the cover photo. AM I THE ONLY ONE SEEING IT? Besides. I love Alyssa Edwards.

Is that sweatshirt material? If so, I want one in every color.

Megan is “spontaneous and genuine”? I guess that’s how she sees her. Maybe it’s me, I see that character as self-centered, spoiled and immature. (Not her fault) but the character took up a lot of story space last year. Hoping Sally, Betty and Joan have more screen time this season than last.

She is astoundingly attractive. That first shot is amazing.

if someone knows of a mad men discussion area that is populated by people who actually love actress and character for the fabulous gals they are, instead of rabidly insecure women biting chunks out of jessica pare and megan draper for daring to exist, be motivated, beautiful and/or loved by don draper, please drop me a note so that i may take up residence there too.

*She* seems nice but her character is still awful.

  • Renaissance_Man_ATL

I think she’s fabulous, both as an actress and as “Megan”. Her character lightens things up and gives Don Draper some joy. The starry-eyed romantics should give up on Don and Betty getting back together. Mad Men would never fall for such a clichéd story line. That’s not who these people are.

I just wish she would close her mouth in a pic. Once, please?
