IN or OUT: Kelly Osbourne at CLEO Magazine Party

Posted on April 30, 2013

This is one of those looks in which her lavender beehive actually works to her benefit.

Lavender Beehive will be the name of the all-lesbian band we’re going to manage. Or the all-drag-queen one.

Kelly Osbourne attends the CLEO magazine relaunch party at The Star in Sydney, Australia.

But there’s a lot here to break down.

The hair is, as we said, working pretty good for the look; even the sloppiness of it. Point in favor

The makeup is just okay. Her lips look like she just got finished making out with someone backstage and we don’t quite think the spider lashes are her friend. We’re gonna call that a point against.

The earrings are a bit much, but since were talking about a gal with purple Marge Simpson hair, we’re willing to let them slide.

The neckline looks a little bit skating costume crossed with a little bit jogging bra. Point against.

The dress itself is really cute and looks pretty awesome on her. Several points in favor.

The ring looks like something her boyfriend made for her in senior shop class. Point against.

The shoes need to be shipped back to Minnie Mouse. Point against.

That’s damn close to a totally neutral take, depending on how you define “several.” Overall, we’d call this one an IN, though. It just works for her.

Et vous?

IN! Works for me!

OUT! I can’t. And I’m about to tell you why.

The Most Beautiful Woman in the World has been waiting all this time to hear what the Bitter Kittens thought of her Iron Man dress. Well, wait no more, Gwynnie They hated it. You’re OUT.

  • OUT. I hate this look from head to toe. ETA: The dress looks cheap and juvenile. I will never be ok with the lavender hair. I loathe the shoes.

    • I like the hair but nothing else. But I also have purpley hair right now.

    • You know, I always used to rail on about that hair (which is god awful unless you’re a retired can-can girl in a French rest home), but recently I read that E! has her contractually locked into that color for another 2+ years or so. Now I just pity her. She’s trapped in a lavender bee hive! She is not, however, contractually obligated to wear that dress. Erm, no. OUT. The top reminds me of a clear plastic apron suitable only for serial killers. Walk away, Kelly, walk away.

      • Qitkat

Ooh, now I can’t unsee the Dexter reference, but I still think she is amaaazing here, beautiful in fact. Sometimes I wonder at my tacky hidden self.

      • If that’s the case, it sucks that she’s stuck with that hair. But the dress… she (or her people) decided that was ok.

      • shanteUstay

That reflects terribly on E! because it’s not a great image to maintain and E! is semi style driven :/

      • Hell, if I got paid a lot of money to have purple hair, I’d strongly consider it

      • I’m very skeptical about a contractual need to keep her lavender hair. Why would E! care enough to make it a legal issue? One day, she’ll wake up, look in the mirror and decide she’s had enough.

        • Cracked out, right? That seems like such a ridiculous amount of time to keep a hair color. Especially such a novelty color. IDK, I just read about it in Huffington Post the other day. Weirdness!

      • MarinaCat

So, if I read this correctly, E!, an entertainment channel where she’s a fashion correspondent who does commentary on current trends, has contractually stipulated that she maintain that color for two years? So the folks at E! have no concept of fashion and trends. Or this is a weird rumor.

        • demidaemon

It probably has to do with the fact that all the promos shot for the show have her with purple hair and they don’t want her to change it until a) the show gets cancelled (I HOPE NOT!!!!!!!!!!) or b) they are ready to shoot new promos again.

  • PeaceBang

    OUT. A hot mess.

  • OUT. The top is too short, somehow. She looks like she’s slouching to fit in it. Do Not Want.

    • Yes, it’s like it’s a kid’s dress that she tried to fit into.

      • Sarah

YES. That dress is for a slutty dwarf. I know she’s not tall, but it looks to short on her. Short waisted and too short combined.

      • Little_Olive

I’d say it’s a stripper’s dress she tried to fit into.

    • CommentsByKatie

I was going to comment this exact thing. The waist is too high; it looks like she accidentally bought the junior size, or like it was trying to be babydoll but failed. Every dress I buy from Modcloth has this same high waist and I HATE it. Waist or empire; you can’t go inbetween! I think if this were fitted at the proper waist and a smidge longer, I woule love the whole look (except those awful shoes.)

  • mightbewrong

OUT. Those are two very dubious points in her favor. That dress is awful.

  • I don’t hate it. I think the jewelry is competing against the dress. She should have gone more simple with the jewelry. Agreed on the shoes. Makeup isn’t *too* bad. In (ish).

    • I like the makeup! That style is quite in now amongst the vintage blogger set. Earrings are a wee bit goth! x

    • drdarke

I kind of like the outfit, @twitter-38211134:disqus and @twitter-25606369:disqus – it’s not GREAT, but it’s not horrible and you can see she feels sexy in it.

      Borderline IN.

  • hughman

    Barbarella’s shower curtain.

    • Eric Stott

For that remark I love you and am your slave.

      • hughman

“Beulah, peel me a grape.” 😉

    • damnit hughman, you’ve done it again. (bowing, deeply bowing.

  • Eric Stott

Looks like a plastic doll in a plastic wrap.

  • That’s some “terra cotta pot on the bottom shelf at Big Lots I-don’t-give-a-fuck” realness to me. I’m not sure if that’s bad or good.

  • I really hope she manages to land her triple salchow.

  • Yeeeaahhhhh, no. Shiny sheer killed it for me. OUT.

  • Arghhh can’t decide. My major quibble is that neckline but other than that IN.

  • Hetha Innis

I think it would be a really cute dress with a few more inches on the hem. The length of it makes it too twee. I love Kelly. It’s hard for me to rip on her just b/c I think she’s adorable and sweet. But yeah, those shoes are mad fug.

  • joancarol

    French Maid.

  • Introspective

    Prom night 2003 on acid.

as if you have to ask my verdict. girl bye.

  • Pants_are_a_must

Clingfilm dress. Ugh that hair. OUT.

  • OUT. That neckline is looking like a bib of sorts. She did finally get the lavender hair to look acceptable.

  • another_laura

“Lavender Beehive”! I would so go to a show.

  • OUT. I don’t even know where to begin, but I will end with this: the contrived posing is the nail in the coffin for this look. Blech.

  • Janet B

Despite the list of missteps, something about this works for me.

    • poggi

I agree. This should not add up, but somehow it does. It is the flying honeybee of fashion.

    • random_poster

I can’t put my finger on why this is an IN for me either. I just think it works for her as a whole.

    • rainwood1

You expressed my thoughts exactly. Mind meld!

    • I like it. I actually love the shiny organza bib as a variation on illusion netting!

  • jennifervney

I’ll give her an In. Although she looks like she’s wearing a shower curtain, her hair and face have never looked better to me.

  • Cathy S

Well, I guess I’ll buck the trend. I like it. I think she looks cute. The shoes are fug though. Still, I give her an In. She looks happy and kind of sparkly.

    • Me too. a v small in on my part, but an in none-the-less.

  • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

I don’t want her to be out because she’s not stick skinny and because she’s smart and funny and nice. And because her legs are sortof short and stumpy and she’s got gorgeous skin and a lovely lovely smile. But I HATE this look. It’s cheap and it looks like she’s colored on herself with marker. WTF heart on the finger? We drew those in 6th grade when dinosaurs ruled the earth. The bodice on this dress is too small and the skirt is too short. The shoes OMG what the hell. They are heavy and clunky and horrid. It’s tacky and wrong. And can she PLEASE GET RID OF HER LAVENDER HAIR? It just looks stupid. It’s time to grow up and have a normal, elegant hair color. And get your tattoos taken off – at least the Tiger Beat Teen ones.

    Rant over.

    She’s OUT.

  • I’ll give it an IN, but it is just a tad on the short side. I’ve always wanted to manage a band called the Feral Ballerinas. They’re gonna kick your Lavender Beehives in the butt!!

  • lobsterlen

Kelly Osbourne starring in the Goth Ice Capades!

I hate the figure skater skirt that have haunting us for nearly two years. It must end now. I do my part to end it by voting every star out who wears these silly dresses out.!

  • Out.
I like Kelly, I think she’s got a gorgeous face and I commend all the work she did to get a healthy body and keep it looking smokin’ hot. But that neckline is not working for her, the top of the dress is fugly, and the dress itself is just too short. Oh and of course with those shoes, OUT is really the only option.

  • alyce1213

OUT. Very, very out. That dress doesn’t fit her or suit her body type, not at all.
Eye makeup is very nicely done. Tired of the hair.
Her posing is very deliberate. Obviously so. She needs to relax.

  • VioletFem

OUT. The only aspect I like about this whole look is the hair, which is surprising because this is the first time that I’ve actually liked her lavender ‘do. It really works for her in this outfit. The dress is a flattering shape for her but I can’t sign off on that weird see-through bodice and the make-up looks like she slept in it.

    • Celandine1

I think the hair is working because it’s not that ugly washed out dirty grey-lavender, it looks more saturated, more purple than grey, and shiny. Plus I like the messy beehive. I give it a small in because it all fits her personality.

  • Out, it’s all too cartoonish.

  • In. It suits her.

    • halleygee

Agree – I don’t love it or anything, but it’s her look so IN.

  • Catiline

Honestly, I’m giving it an IN. Her hair and face look really cute, and the details I don’t like aren’t enough to cancel that out.

  • I’m going to go against the grain here. I think she looks gorgeous and completely hot. One big lesbian IN.

    • sariebee

Must be a lesbian thing. I think she looks hot as shit.

      • CheriCPat

This lesbian votes out, but sadly. Imagine that top as part of a solid black wide-leg trouser jumpsuit. Then, in. As is, it sits too high on her – like someone else said, looks like she is trying to squeeze a tall body into a petite dress.

  • IN above the neck; OUT below. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her face look prettier. That dress isn’t her friend and it makes her legs look heavy.

  • i think she looks pretty adorable, actually.

  • kittenwithaquip

Tom! Lorenzo! You get back in here and tell me how you could miss the pointy, heart-tipped fingernails! I’m so disappointed. Just when I thought I could trust you to notice every detail and rip it apart, you miss the Pinterest nails. Now go back to your room and think about what you’ve done.

Buuut seeerrriously…she’s on my irrational hate list. I look at her and all I see is a once chubby girl who lost weight and became steeped in bitterness and bitchitude. Even when she smiles it looks more like a smug sneer to me. Though I suppose I may be projecting just a little.

I vote out. The shoes, the nails, the somewhat matchy earrings and ring, the bad fit in the bodice area that looks like her collarbones are getting chafed– they all spell OUT to me. Her makeup looks pretty (from far away) and I dig her hair, but that’s not enough for me to give the little snot an in.

  • mmc2315

It’s a smidge short. LOVE the hair. Yes, it suits her. IN

  • Stephen Pischl

G-d, girls are so shitty to each other. Have y’all no eyes? She looks amazing! Possibly a personal best for her!

Love the hair and eye makeup, mile-long falsies and all, and the dress is different in a beautiful, unexpected, eye-catching way. Head to toe, she’s got a kind of “video vixen of the eighties vibe,” but it still comes across as modern and not like a costume.

The cut, I think, is really flattering: it’s fitted at her narrowest point, while her legs and shoulders look lovely.

Besides, look at her smile, pose and posture! She LOVES how she looks! She’s killing it!

To me, this is not just an IN, it’s a WERQ.

  • carnush

There’s nothing chic, modern, or even attractive about this look. OUT.

  • Mazenderan

Out. Eye makeup is lovely. The dress would look tacky on anyone, but it commits the double sin of failing to flatter her, too.

  • Qitkat

Oh, Miss KellyO, how very drag queen you look. I love it! but only on you, and no one else. Ever.

I’ll be on the lookout for Lavender Beehive at my local LilithFaire. (Or does that even still exist?)

  • RebeccaKW

In. This is her look. I would hate this on anyone else. Loving the Tinkerbell hair.

  • crash1212

I’ll give it an “in” – not an IN mind you. Small, teeny-tiny in. Neck up = very nice. Neck down = a little sketchy. Overall it suits her, although I wish the skirt was just a skosh longer.

  • Kathleen B

IN – I agree with the TLo assessment. some things don’t work, but overall she works the look. and I do love the hair!

  • OUT. The dress looks plastic and cheap.
Her hair distracts me here… which is a good thing.

  • jw_ny

The only part of the look that I actually like is the skirt and her legs, the rest…not so much. OUT

The earrings, purple hair, and those Minnie Mouse shoes…cartoony! Hate the flowers on that sheer panel at her bust too.

  • MilaXX

IN! My only quibbles are the shoes and the neckline.

  • In, the dress is cute and I like her hair for a change.

  • I have to admit that I think Kelly Osbourne is adorable. This dress is a bit too short, but she looks like she’s having fun wearing it. The shoes are awful, and I wish this hoof trend would just stop. At least they aren’t stripper heels. Overall, it’s a fun look for her.

  • guest2visits

I think it’s all pretty cute for her, a bit over the top but right for the event.
Still wishing there were less stamps all over the place.

  • atelier482 .

OUT. Despite I like dress silhouette, the whole look screams “I’m desperate to get laid.” That sheer halter top is an abomination. It looked like those ancient chinese female underwear which I detest so much.

  • LauraWL

In. Love the makeup, love the hair, think the dress is cute. Hate the shoes. Think the jewelry suits her.

  • FancyPhilly

The hair: I like. The messy, the style, the Marge Simpson reference.
The makeup: I don’t like. I like her with a softer look, the kind that plays up her cupie doll potential. The eye makeup is too harsh.
The earrings/ring: I don’t like. Kind of wish the dominant color in them wasn’t black.
The neckline/dress: I don’t like. I think if it was one size up I could love it. Just seems to be pulling, not sitting, just fitting all wrong. I also wish it was a leeetle bit longer. I don’t think Kelly playing up a (slightly gothy) version of the sweet little lollipop girl is the look she should be going for.
The shoes: clomp, clomp, clomp. Here comes Kelly. (I don’t like).

    • FancyPhilly

Overall score: an OUT. See how I showed my work?

  • Cloveradams

Babydoll pajamas that double as rainwear–the whole look to me is 1963 slumber party in inclement weather.

  • Alyssa

In, but only on her. I think her attitude & persona sells the look. And I agree, this look is definitely complimented by the lavendar beehive. Don’t care for the shoes or jewelry, but overall I like the look for her.

  • Sarah

OUT. The dress is for a little person, her shoes are for a giant person, and her jewelry and makeup should not be on any person.

  • Astrid

What? Out! That dress is tacky as fuck.

  • She’s cute and Betty Boop-ish. IN

  • Guest

I suspect the sheerness of the neckline looks different in person, and I agree that the shoes are hideous. But I love her hair and makeup. Plus, she looks like she’s having fun. IN

  • IN, I don’t actually think the makeup not concerning the eyes is so terrible. She also looks really happy, like she feels pretty in the garment, which I think tilts the look into working since it’s playful by her standards.

  • OUT!!!

  • decormaven

In, but only on her. Points off for the fingernail art and shoes. Would love to know her esthetician; her facial skin is glowing.

  • Beverly Kozma

In. And I love her make-up.

  • TAGinMO

That netting looks like peeling sunburn. Ick. Takes the whole look from a marginal in to a marginal OUT for me.

  • Imasewsure

I’m firmly stuck in the middle for all of those reasons… that makes it IN by default because I lean positive when it’s a fashion tie (unless I hate the person of course)

  • MRC210

OUT. I can’t get past the plastic bib. I know it’s not actually a plastic bib (at least I hope so) but it looks like a plastic bib.

I kind of like the beehive, though.

  • Helene

I can’ take this seriously. You do realise that dress couldn’t possibly be any more flammable if we doused it entirely in gasoline? Someone breathes on Kelly, and she will burst into flames.

  • Out. To my eyes, that is one aggressively ugly dress.

  • keaglin

I suspect the sheer neckline looks different in person. I agree that the shoes are hideous, but I like the hair and makeup and she looks like she’s having fun. IN

  • Belvane

IN. Best she’s looked in a while. The lavender hair looks so much better when it’s upswept. Balances that fabulous square jaw.

  • In_Stitches

I completely disagree on the dress; it’s a mess. She can’t pull off a dress that short with that much volume. Hell, no one can. Plus, the shiny sheer bib with the weird neckline covering the bodice-it’s a no. Absolutely love everything neck up though. It’s a toss up, but I think it’s landing OUT for me this time.

    • alyce1213

I feel the same. I used to enjoy her being on the show, she’s a bright, cute girl, but she takes herself — she takes it all — so seriously. FP is a comedy show, isn’t it? Giuliana and George are occasionally funny. Even Melissa is funny when she fills in. Kelly — not so much. Speaking slowly and seriously in a Brit accent doesn’t add much to the mix, unless we’re supposed to find that funny in itself.

  • prettybigkitty

OUT. And she will always be out regardless of the outfit until she loses the grandma, grape ape hair color. And the dress is a scooch too small.

  • SublimatedRage

Definitely a “whole is greater than the sum of its parts” kinda look……

  • l_c_ann

  • Yeah, this isn’t working for me. The dress is not pretty, it’s too short, and it looks as though it was made of shower curtains. Her face is lovely and I like her hair, but the rest? No. OUT.

  • She looks like one of Tinkerbell’s fairy friends, Anthracite.

  • Tatiana Luján

The dress is too short and its waist is too high. The shoes are ugly.
I looooove the hair and the makeup, even though technically flawed, I think makes her face look very pretty.
    Out. I hate the dress.

  • She looks like Judy Jetson. An IN for nostalgia!

  • Out. The dress is too…. streetwalkeresque…. (sheer, short and tacky w/o any hose) –all she needs is a cross breeze and lose any mystery she might have had. Makeup is nice. Hate the hair and wonder at the ego-driven need for attention that would drive someone to sign a contract to wear lavender hair for years-particularly when it clashes with her skin tone.

  • Trisha26

OUT. I don’t think the dress is flattering at all. It could be the camera angle, but it looks like a little girl dress, or worse, a “sort” of sexy French Maid outfit. She’s another one I can do without – famous for being of famous parents.

  • I think her head looks pretty, but the dress… it’s just too tiny. There’s not enough of it. It’s sort of like a sexy little nightgown. Which would be fine if she were home in her own bedroom, but not on the red carpet.

  • AmeliaEve

I could do without the organza butcher’s apron over the bodice, but over all she looks pretty and relaxed in this outfit. It suits her. And I love her lavender beehive. The color is just pastel enough not to punch you in the nose, but it’s instantly identifiable. It’s the ideal “pop of color” for this monochromatic outfit.

  • flamingoNW

Hmm. I like the hair and make-up, but I don’t like the fabric of that dress or the jewelry… OUT

  • theblondette

OUT: the top makes my boobs feel a bit sore in sympathy and the skirt is not a flattering length. I do quite like her hair here, though, for a change! And I would totally listen to Lavender Beehive. They’d be a sassy lesbian band who wear cute retro outfits and bring out an Anarchist Cupcake Cookbook: poppy, totally manufactured, but awesome fun for dancing to when tipsy.

  • j_anson

IN. Huh, I’m kinda surprised at how badly it’s doing in comments. It’s not everyone’s style, but it’s HER style and she’s working it pretty well.

  • I like the style of the dress but the shine factor is just taking it too far into cheap territory. OUT.

  • mhlmh

IN. I like it. The only thing I didn’t like is that I thought the bib part was clear plastic at first, but then I see it’s a light color sheer panel.

  • kirkyo

I think I’d like this more if it was actually what I thought it was at first glance – a graphical print with the bra serving as “hills” with little trees and flowers growing on top.

  • MsBusy

Absolutely In. Yes, there are cartoonish aspects but this is her look — she looks fabulous, even with the impossible hair color, which looks great on her.

  • Carol

The neckline is a bit wonky, and I hate the shoes, but otherwise I think she looks fantastic. IN.

  • Joyce VG

IN! She looks young beautiful and sassy. Team Kelly! So happy to see that she has recovered from her health scare.

  • What? Everyone? LOOOVEe..

  • She’s (barely) making it work for her, so it’s an IN for me.

If you don’t mind, though, I would like to use Lavender Beehive as my drag name, please.

  • Raanan Rosenbaum

Out, as if often the case with Miss Kelly.
Love that ring, though. Sorry guys.

  • GTrain

I think the top looks odd, like it’s too small or something. OUT

  • I think she looks wonderful from the neck up, but I just can’t approve of that dreadful dress with the plastic bib–or the hearts all over her fingers & nails–or the miserable shoes–or the too short skirt. OUT.

  • formerlyAnon

In. I like the hair and makeup. The dress is cute on her, I don’t love its overall crunchy-poly shininess vibe, but she’s got a few more years to work the Betty Boop approach successfully and the dress works beautifully for that. Shoes, unexciting but not enough to ’em hate ’em.

  • julnyes

I agree on all your points except the dress which I think is not flattering at all – so this is an OUT in my books.

  • ashtangajunkie

She looks pretty, but that dress is awful. Maybe if the dress were longer…or less like a figure skating costume…or something. I don’t know. Out, I guess. A pretty face can’t always save a bad dress.

  • Jangle57

My biggest complaint is the dress length; just another inch or 2 tops and well, now that I think about it, then I’d be hating the shoes more than I do now, so I guess I just talked myself into an OUT

  • VicD

It’s an in for her. Probably an out for anyone else on the planet, but this is Kelly being Kelly.

  • appliquer

In – but my age is showing when I say the tats are really distracting.

  • In. Because I love the hair color and the makeup and the ‘do and the whole shiny-sheerness of the look. Her face is extremely photogenic.

Now I did see that show she’s on last week and her hair was down, past her shoulders, and she looked like a purple rat. NOT good.

  • IN.

  • butterflysunita

    OUT. No, no, no.

  • leftcoastpickle

IN because I like her hair and I always like her.

  • Snailstsichr

She is on my “irrational” like list and I love her hair and makeup, but this dress looks like a little girl’s ballet fantasy. I hate the fit. a very sad out.

  • Laylalola

Out. Too short on her legs, and, that hair has got to go.

  • shanteUstay

    Love the clutch,
but the outfit looks like black swan: on ice

  • do you even have to ask? Minimally better than Lena Dunham in Saint Laurent. And that ain’t sayin a whole lot.

  • Lisa M. (ReVoir) Kramp

The flowers on the gauze overlay made me go “WTF?” in the thumbnail. But when I look at the whole outfit, it’s an IN. It’s an over-the-top party look that still manages to be pretty and feminine.

  • In. The sheer netting on the bust is weird, but she looks like a tough girly girl which is the Kelly Osborne look.

  • stubbornthoughts

Hmm…the only thing I like here is her hair, which I normally hate. I’M SO CONFUSED.

  • bxbourgie

Ugh. In. I just love that she’s not a size 0 and still wears what she wants and most of the time looks lovely in it. Her style will never really be traditional and I like that about her. And the lavender beehive. Hate the shoes tho. But still… it’s an IN for me.

  • frannyprof

OUT. Nothing works here. And what the hell is a relaunch party?

  • hair and make up is flattering. Everything else? Eh, out

  • bailey debruynkops

hate the shoes but IN thanks to the décolletage fabric.

  • tereliz

In, but a hesitant one and only because her hair isn’t clashing.

  • JasmineAM

As someone that will be dying some of my hair purple within a few weeks, I call this an IN.

  • The first thing I thought of was Marnie’s plastic dress that she wore on Girls. As unpopular as they can be, I tend to like figure-skater-esque dresses, though, so I’m going to throw Kelly an IN.

  • nannypoo

I think she’s trying to do a bitchface but she really just looks a little dazed. I hate purple hair. I also hate her manicure and that ugly ring. This is a good look for her, though.

  • Nonmercisansfacon

OUT. Mostly because I still cannot comprehend why she is famous.

  • TSkot

The whole thing looks too skimpy; and those tattoos would ruin almost any look. OUT

  • GorgeousThings

IN. I actually kind of like the makeup. I think she looks soft and pretty. In a Kelley Osborne kinda way. Hate the shoes, and I would love the dress if it weren’t for the glistenette neckline.

  • librarygrrl64

OUT. For all of the reasons you mentioned, and because I think a skirt that shape (especially on a girl this shape) would be better with a few more inches on it. As someone said, here it looks “skimpy.”

  • Carly Warnock

in. it’s just her style and i’m ok with that.

  • MissusBee

FrankenOUTfit. Shame, as the gal herself looks pretty and glowing. She should ditch the kitschy princess schtick and go for something more breezy and modern.

  • ballerinawithagun

Out, but I love the lavender hair in a beehive and also love the jewelry that my boyfriend made in shop class….

  • winchesterCAT

She does look pretty naked, but I like it. Possibly because I’d totally
hit that. Usually she doesn’t go for sexy at all, but I think she
    should. Yowza. IN. Obviously.

  • In! She is an awesome 80s cartoon character (Rainbow Princess of Metal?) come to life and she owns it.

  • Out. Too shiny.

Neck up she looks great. I normally hate her hair, but it looks cute like this, and she looks really beautiful. The dress might be cute on someone, but she is just too broad shouldered for that halter cut. It looks weird on her. But the more I see of her tattoos, the more I hate them. Normally I like tats, but hers are all so poorly done and just..ugly. Time for some coverup!

  • IN. She looks very cute while still being Kelly Osbourne. I love the hair AND makeup (sorry to disagree with the great TLo). The combination of the neckline and short skirt does lean toward World Figure Skating Championship (please don’t skate to Les Miz as I am Les Sick of it). I’d toss the illusion fabric and replace the halter with regular vertical straps. The shoes are HORRID; can’t we get rid of clunky platform pumps already? Still, an IN. She’s adorable.

  • CatherineRhodes

Out. Can’t get past the figure skater neckline and Minnie Mouse shoes.

  • conniemd

Out can’t take plastic on dresses.

  • IN. The overall effect is cute and pulled together. Yes, the styling is a little off, but overall, I think she looks good.

  • Anathema_Device

Out. I have been shopping with my 14 yo daughter for a fancy dress, and this just reminds me far too much of the endless shiny, poofy, short things I’ve seen in the Junior departments. Even the lavender beehive can’t save it.

  • snarkykitten

Out. That dress is hiddy. Wrapped in shrink wrap, etc

  • out. Too short, waaaaaay too shiny. May as well be an ice dancing costume.

  • OUT. The dress looks like a plastic nighty. Barbie clothes.

  • Totally in!! I love this look. The beehive might be 75% of why.

  • Stubenville

    Lovely underwear. Where’s the dress?

  • Anniebet

IN. She’s pretty much my favorite fashion bad girl. I have to admire her chutzpah and quirk. Snaps for the quirky among us!

    Well, except for those shoes.

  • I would hate this on anybody else but it’s working for her so I’m giving this an IN.

  • Shannon Long

I LOVE her hair and makeup, but everything else is baaaaad.

  • JauntyJohn

In — but that is the facial expression of a person who has spent a lot of time practicing their facial expression so that it is **just so** for the camera.

  • MandyM

OUT! She’s going to have to pull out all the stops to ever get an IN from me. She looks like a joke with pretty much every look I’ve ever seen. That dress looks too small and the top is horrible. Her hair is awful. The shoes are just OK. Her eye makeup was the best thing about this look and even that wasn’t great.

  • ankali

OUT for the sheer, shiny, cheap-looking bib.

  • Peeve

In. I’m so over the purple hair, but for once it looks great here, you’re absolutely right! I’m usually not in love with her dress choices, but I think she looks really cute in this. Don’t know why it works for me, because the parts aren’t all that great, but it does. I read somewhere (mentioned previously, as well) that she’s “contractually obligated” to keep the purple hair for at least 2 more years because of her show, but I don’t buy that. Giuliana (sp?) has changed her hair color multiple times in the past several years (lighter, darker, ombre, etc.) and that doesn’t seem to be a problem–why can’t Kelly?

  • rloliveira

That dress is waaaaaay too short for her. The whole proportion thing is off. Do love the hair and make up though.

  • quiltrx

It’s like a good idea for a dress, but really poorly executed.
AND I thought the coloring on her chest was some sort of spray-tan disaster until I saw the fabric from the side!

  • demidaemon

To me, this reads as a plastic nightie. That means OUT.

  • Damien W

It is a little on the nightie side, but the styling turns it into a B-52’s Boudoir kind of thing. Kitschy. I like it!

  • DCSheehan

In. Love the beehive do as well.

  • bellafigura1

    It’s a hot mess. IN.

  • MisScarlett

IN, snaps to her for working hard to get that cute figure. I think she looks great.

TLo, please let me know when Lavender Beehive plays their first gig because I want to be on the front row.

  • Tuneful54

Hard for me to be objective, as I love Kel. She’s a class act (relatively speaking) on Fashion Police, and she rocks a non-Twiggy body.

But not liking the dress and am over the lavender hair (there must be something else cutting-edge she can do). Dress looks a size too small, and I feel that a full miniskirt does not flatter a curvy woman. The shoes are out of proportion. But everyone has an off day.

  • Out. I want to rip off that shear/embroidered overlay. How cute would she look in a sleeveless cinched LBD with the hair and earrings? Right?

  • It’s like her entire clevage is being carried around in a zip-lock bag. OUT.

  • OUT. Kelly, it is NOT YOUR PROM.

  • Squeaking an IN. The hair works, but I can’t get over the plastic-looking neckline of that dress. However, the shape is good, and we need to encourage her when she does things right.

  • OUT. That neckline hurts my soul. It gives the effect of the bodice being too tight — like we should all be preparing for the boobs-plosion.

  • Sunshine16

I guess it’s an IN. But only because the close up images proved to me that the top wasn’t clear plastic.

  • Heart pointy french tips. Point against. Oh hey, that makes it an OUT.

  • Out. Hate the dress.

  • barbarienne

IN. My main dislike is the plastic-y quality of the sheer fabric in the bodice. But I suspect it looks better in person, where you can see it move. Also not a fan of the shoes. Otherwise, I think she looks fantastic. It suits her personal style, looks cute, and is appropriate for both her and the venue.

  • alwaysanswerb

I feel like this look is so her. IN

  • OUT. That’s a lot of tween goin’ on.

  • Kirsten Kirsten

This is a tough one. Hair looks FABULOUS. Nails are horrendous. I don’t love the shoes, but don’t mind the jewelry. The dress is really cute, but the skirt needs to be a scootch longer to avoid the ice skater costumer appearance. Overall this one’s an OUT.

  • kathrineb

IN. Fun look. I’m not mad about the dress but with the purple hair it just sort of works for me :).

  • ccm800

    IN as hell/ CUTIE!!!!

  • lalahartma

  • bessann28

My 5 year old just said, “That’s fancy!” She gives it an IN.
