She’s got great legs. No question about that.

  • hellkell

She’s starting get the face she deserves.

  • Meh. S’alright.

  • Nice stems Gwyn, I may be a the teensiest (see ridiculously) bit jealous. But, it does remind me of a nearly identical outfit worn by Cameron Diaz wore to a Knight and Day photo op a couple of years ago…Cameron did it better.

    • Martha Deutsch

it is scary to me that i remember the exact outfit you are talking about. i recall, cameron’s shorts were also wrinkly and her toes were hanging off her sandals. … but overall i would still agree that she looked better.

  • hotpaprika

Her shorts are all wrinkled. Her hair is fried. She has Barbie’s hair colour. Her skin looks orange. Her eyebrows look weird. She’s about the same age as Heidi Klum and apparently as desperate to look young, however, unlike Heidi, who DOES look impressive Gwyneth looks simply desperate.

    • IMNAngryLiberal

Heidi is looking pretty desperate these days as well.

    • Eh. While I think they both look pretty desperate in different ways, I do think both are still pretty impressive looking. I’d be happy to look like either of them now, much less when I’m older.

    • kathrineb

I actually vote that Hedi is looking way more desperate.

    • MaryAtRealityTea

I do like the shoes. That’s all I got. haha.

  • Did it work when she sat down?

  • schadenfreudelicious

i cant fault her gams, i just wish i wasn’t constantly seeing so much of them….

  • AndresB

Shorts again…!? I can’t wait for this toe-curlingly awful trend to meet its nail clipper.

    • MaryAtRealityTea

I love shorts. Just not “formal” shorts. Blah.

  • crash1212

Cute. This is how shorts and a jacket should be deployed. Love the shoes – hair and make-up look casual and event appropriate. Also…the legs on this woman are magnificent.

  • Indovina

Apparently celebrities have been rendered unfamiliar with the concept of ironing.

  • AlisonS

It’s probably a good thing that she has such great legs since that’s the only positive thing about the outfit, well those and the shoes. The whole thing just looks wrinkly, disheveled. Now, I’m sure she’s like “Fuck poledancing for my shit. I GOOP bitch” but still honey, buy a steamer.

  • Sarah

Damn, she wrinkly. I actually like Michelle Williams’ Target outfit better, and that had SATIN shorts. Legs alone don’t make the look, GOOP.

    • BaddestMotherEver

EXACTLY. Michelle Williams looked cuter and was wearing clothes from Target.

  • Jessi03

Two shorts and blazers in one day? Is this cool now? What weather is this possibly for?

    • 70-80 degree days in New York City in April, as it was on Tuesday & Wednesday. 🙂 It actually makes sense for the weird-as-hell little heat wave we just had!

      • Jessi03

I am so jealous! Chicago is rainy and freezing this week.

  • alyce1213

I love a menswear-inspired lady suit, but not with shorts. She’s got great legs, but I wish the pants were long.
This is not haute couture, this is nice everyday wear and there’s a place for that — this show, for example (compare to Heidi Klum in sequins on The Today Show).

But then, there’s the hair . . . fried, and skin tone . . . too much tanner.

  • decormaven

Ok. We get it. You’ve got great legs. But we don’t have to see them every time you make an appearance. As my late mother used to say, “That’s cut up to her goozle.”

    • I am going to use that phrase every chance I get.

    • ours was “up to her cranisfore.”
or “up to her hi how are ya!”

    • In my family, those shorts would be described as being “cut to Glory.”

    • My aunt would say “I can see your tonsils, go cover that hoo-ha.”

  • Ugh.

  • Jecca2244

those legs! But why is her hair so flat lately?

  • I’m way more intrigued by the outfit worn by the lady (?) on the left-hand side of the third picture. Floral jeans and wellington boots are a much bolder sartorial choice than a seersucker short suit.

    • I had to go back and look, but I think I like the crazy jeans and boots better than Paltrow’s outfit.

  • Spicytomato1

I think she looks good from the front, although I’ve seen her hair look healthier. Her legs are insane. But somehow, from the back, the heels and the short shorts look faintly ridiculous to me.

  • teensmom99

Cautionary tale, ladies: if the woman who started the flat hair trend has such fried looking hair, is that really something you want to do. And what’s with the absence of lipstick–is that her new look. Feh. Last but not least, I think I got that suit when I first was job hunting out of college back in mumble mumble the mid eighties. But I guess I must have paid more because I got an actual skirt for mine.

    • 3boysful

And she’s missing the little silk bow-tie in the men’s-silk-tie-print we had to wear back then! (Gag)

  • She is so focused on showing of her legs, which are killer, that she seems not to care that she’s been looking ridiculous in the last round of outfits. This is not flattering and its too short.

  • Tatiana Luján

    I like the shoes.
That fabric isnt appropriate for shorts, it gets too wrinkled.

  • Judy_S

I just knew from the thumbnail that she was wearing shorts. Sigh.

  • Catiline

Hair and makeup are fried. Legs look good and I think her shoes are cute. For me this is a weird, rare case of scrolldown improvement.

    • AnotherJulie

As an anonymous random female, if I had her legs I’d be tempted to wear shorts every day too. But as a celebrity knowing she is photographed everywhere she goes? Annoying.

  • myristica_fragrans

    i like it.

  • Paulina Carey

Dude. I want that blazer. So. Badly.

  • rajf

Target or Rag and Bone, who decided that (short!) shorts and a blazer are a good look for anyone?

  • lobsterlen

Is it seersucker? Cute outfit. Maybe tad summery for NYC at the moment. Her looks fried in front but the photo of hair from behind looks very healthy and shinny.

  • butterflysunita

    Wrinkly, sad-looking outfit.

  • MzzPants

NO. Just like Michelle, in the last post, if you’re gonna’ wear shorts and you’re older than 16, they’d better be fucking perfection. Otherwise you look like smacked ass. Or in the case of pic 2, like you’re about to execute some strange chicken walk.

  • tereliz

That blazer! The slightly contrasting panels! WANT!

  • Jacqueline Wessel

I don’t understand how shorts and a jacket go together. If it’s hot enough for shorts then you don’t need a jacket. She does have great legs though.

  • Imasewsure

Kind of love the suit but hate the shoes. Very Klum-ish as pointed out already (but she’s wearing a shirt which is un-Klum-ish and much appreciated)

  • snarkykitten

Is not ironing them part of her attempt to look like a normal plebe?

  • Candigirl1968

If this were June, I might be able to get with it. But it’s April. Put on some pants.

    • conniemd

It was really warm in NYC (80’s) on Monday and Tuesday, Shorts would have been fine. Everyone on the east coast had the urge to put on something springy because it’s been so cold. I wore a sleeveless silk top.

  • Her hair is making me so sad. Lowlights, Gwyneth. Give your hair some depth! Cut off those fried ends!

    • ballerinawithagun

Yes, that lemon yellow needs help!!!

  • I guess she owns a pair of those shoes in every color, and she’s wearing them with a wrinkly outfit. Wrinkly as in: I don’t iron. Not in the “supposed to be wrinkly” – wait – not to be mean – but it just occurred to me that I’m not sure if she knows how to use electrical outlets.

  • I like the shoes. If only I could wear heels, but no, I can’t. A shorts suit would be fine, with longer shorts, like bermudas. Again, I say, Gwyneth, grow up! And fix your hair, please.

  • mhleta

This is something an 8 year old would wear to a church picnic in 1947. Does it come with a frog in the pocket? Where’s the beanie with the propeller? Doesn’t Crew Cuts sell this exact outfit? Pure bullshit. Make it stop.

    • zenobar

What’s needed here, is exactly three eyeliner freckles drawn on each cheek.

There’s a slingshot, too, but for that you pay extra.

      • PeaceBang

Yours and mhleta’s mockery is exactly what is called for here. Most gracious thanks.

  • spooki C

this outfit is just like crackers and water. boring.

  • nannypoo

Another dumb little shorts outfit. And hair like straw.

  • PastryGoddess

She had me until we got to those shorts. The shoes are fab though

  • marilyn

Gwennie, Gwennie, Gwennie: You are not 18 anymore, you are over 30, and need to grow up. the fried-surfer-girl hair does not work for you any more. The cutesey shorts with jacket are a little tween for you now. Dress your age and you will look younger.

    • Tuneful54

Actually, she’s over 40 now, making it even worse.

  • barbarienne

I know cotton/linen blends wrinkle if you look at them funny, but this isn’t looking much better than the Target outfit on the previous post.

The blouse looks nice. At least it doesn’t look like a wrinkled mess.

    • conniemd

Exactly. All I could see were the wrinkles on the shorts and jacket sleeves.

  • Trisha26

The designer’s name describes the look perfectly.

  • MilaXX

Cute look. I saw her on GMA yesterday trying desperately to make herself more likable. Needless to say it was awkward.

  • The hell with the shorts, look at those legs! I’d kill for a pair of legs like that.

    • myristica_fragrans

start eating 700 calories a day, remove all fun from your life, and they could be yours.

  • Jon

I like this. Reminds me of some of Michelle Williams’ looks. Makes me wonder what Paltrow would look like with a new haircut.

  • filmcricket

If the shorts were about 3 inches longer and the whole thing wasn’t wrinkly as hell, I’d quite like this. I can’t believe I’m saying that about formal shorts, but here we are. Dig the shoes, and I’m impressed that she doesn’t appear to be sliding out of them. Maybe she actually owns them and therefore they fit correctly.

  • Wait, didn’t Solange wear those shoes in a different color the other day? Are they the designer shoe version of the watch in the Avon catalog that has the interchangeable bands and bezels in different colors?

  • conniemd

Hate the shorts. The blazer would have looked good with some capri length pants just below the knee if she wanted to show some leg. As to the comments about what weather does one wear shorts and a jacket, a lot of professional offices are air conditioned to comfort for men wearing suits, so sometimes I’ll freeze, so I’ll carry a shrug or light cardigan sweater to put on indoors without dying of the heat outdoors.

  • titaness25

Why does an outfit that surely costs more than my entire year’s rent look so rumfled and badly-fitted?

  • Can’t she just make a god damn movie? And I don’t mean Iron Man XIII. Another book? The thing I hate the most is the hair. It’s been 12 years now Gwynnie. It’s not in style anymore. Stop it. But the outfit is cute and cas and certainly better than what Heidi wore on the morning shows the other day. And it’s worth saying that it’s not that unlike the outfit Michelle W. wore in the In and Out post today. Yes, this one looks more expensive but it is – ALOT more expensive. Shorts and jacket is a cute look.

  • While the fit of the jacket is a little unflattering on her (seems wider around the hips?), I LOVE this. Seriously. I kinda want to go out and buy a seersucker short suit. And the shoes are perfect, too. Makeup is better than usual, and even though I don’t particularly like her hair, at least it looks like she just got a blowout.

  • PrunellaV

“Rag and Bone.” Unfortunate metaphor in this case.

  • jetpackdino

Why is she clinging to that hairstyle? When she turns around it becomes even more tragic: you can see how she separated it into two hanks to put over her shoulders in an effort to make it appear more lush from the front, and even *that* doesn’t work.

  • Cute outfit if the jacket fit a little better and everything wasn’t so wrinkly. Also, not too sure if that’s a good outfit for the venue.

  • I have a suit in this print/colors (but full trouser, 3/4 sleeve). I dig the shorts-suit though. Wish I could get away with that for work.

  • kathrineb

I don’t think this is that bad. The fit of the jacket is not great. As a rich celebrity that gets her photo taken all time, wouldn’t it make sense to have a tailor on speed dial? I certainty would!

  • spinachleaf

Is ‘tennis stripe’ the same as ‘seersucker’?

  • Flooolia

The main problem I see with this is the wrinkly, “I’m trying to be linen but I’m not” fabric, and the colour and fabric thereof. Perhaps if it all was an off-white colour, or, you know, looked like actual linen, it might make the whole thing a bit more chic-looking. Or at least less ridiculous. As for the shoes, I love the colours, and how they look against her dark nail polish, but with the outfit as it is, they look completely mismatched. Lastly, that neckline with a raggedy blazer such as this one only adds to the overall scruffiness of the look. Sorry Gwyn.

  • HomeOfficeGirl

She looks fantastic. Legs, indeed. I’m no big fan of hers but this is a great look for her. I think the bk’s doth protest too much on this one.

  • AnotherJulie

Again, if I had worked that hard getting those legs, I’d show them too. But I agree with others that the hair is awful – and perplexing.

If I saw this hair on an average citizen (non-millionaire celebrity), I would understand and feel a little bad. But I DO NOT UNDERSTAND why GP has clung to this style/color for years, when she has access to the best stylists/colorists on the planet!

  • She looks great! Work it Gwen!

  • Such vitriol. LOL She looks gorgeous, fresh and very east coast.

  • I. need. those. shoes.

  • lrober03

I don’t like the shorts, but I love the shoes

  • librarygrrl64

    Cute outfit, bad hair.

  • Those shoes again?

  • Seersucker? IN APRIL? Well I never!

    Her face is orange.

  • ThaliaMenninger

Wow. I think somebody in 1967 wants her seersucker pantsuit back. Ugh. And her hair needs some serious work. Like some lowlights or something so it doesn’t look so bleached out.

  • ankali

Seersucker linen shorts? After Michelle Williams’s satin shorts? Are wrinkled crotches a thing now, then?

  • Come on. Wear a sassy skirt to show off those legs. Matching (wrinkly) shorts? Ugh. Goopy.

  • Louise Bryan

Shorts and high heels — still a really trashy combination, no matter how good your legs are.

  • I guess I’m in the minority. I like this outfit a lot, but it could use a touchup with the iron.

  • Hi! I’m very blond and very skinny. See how skinny? And blond? My legs are skinny! And if you look at my book cover, you can see how skinny my arms are. So skinny! And so very blond.
