Emmy Rossum in Naeem Khan

Posted on April 03, 2013

Okay, Miss Emmy. You win.

Emmy Rossum attends the Jeffrey Fashion Cares 10th Anniversary Celebration in New York City in a Naeem Khan black and gold fringe-beaded sleeveless sheath dress paired with Rupert Sanderson sandals.

Naeem Khan Resort 2013 Collection/Model: Janice Alida

We’ve slung our share of criticism at her lately, but not because she’s a bad dresser or has no style. It was because she’s such a good dresser and has such great style that any mistakes or disappointments stood out more. But she clearly had enough of it, got up that morning, headed to her closet, put this on, and said, “FINE, you pain-in-the-ass bitches, HOW’S THIS?”

That’ll do just fine, dear. Although we wince in sympathy for your wandering baby toe.

  • eeh… baby toe…

  • Nicholas

Is it possible to see those photos without the music to Remember the Time playing in your head?

    • lovelyivy

YES! I still remember the dance moves to the extended video!

    • Well it WAS possible, but not anymore. Not that that’s a bad thing. I never mind an MJ earworm. 🙂

  • Sobaika

Werq it, Miss Emmy! (But you deserve studs or a bracelet and some better shoes.)

  • lovelyivy

Love the dress, love the shoes, but I think it’s not really HER dress. I’d love this look on Frieda Pinto.

  • The toe! :O

I can see nothing else now!

  • I just wish we could see it in motion. Bet it was faboo. She looks just great.

    • Mar8

I am imagining it right now and in my head it is AMAZING

  • Oh, poor kitten has broken that toe more times than I’ve broken the same one. And that means a lot of times.

    But the dress is magnificent.

  • AndresB

A nasty little toe slipped, touched the ground and broke a WERQ’s neck.

  • As soon as I scrolled down and saw the toe, the look was ruined for me. Can’t unsee it. Never wear a shoe that causes baby toe to wander. The dress is fabulous though.

    • Jacqueline Wessel

Absolutely, I would never wear sandals that did that to my poor toe.

  • DianeS

    Her poor little piggies!

    • MoHub

Obviously crying “whee, whee, whee” even before she’s on her way home.

  • Janet B

Very pretty. From head to wandering toe she looks terrific.

  • therealkuri

I love this dress. Work that flapper fringe!

  • I think she looks like a lamp.
A lamp with fabulous hair and makeup.
And a sad little runaway toe.

    • Indigo54

I agree. She looks like a lamp in a funeral parlor.

      • I used to know this old Greek lady. She’d make baklava and serve it to us in her living room, which had plastic-covered furniture and lamps like that all over the place.

        • Indigo54

Yeah, the neighbor across the street had the same thing. Her house always smelled like gardenias. She made the best tea cakes on the planet so I just had to put up with it.

  • MarissaLG

Shame about the toe, but I LOVE the shoes!

  • Why can’t shoe designers make shoes wider?? (Says the person who has wide feet.)

  • Mismarker

My feet hurt just looking at those shoes. As a brown-eyed, brunette with similar coloring I feel compelled to say I love, love, love her makeup. I wish I could always look this fresh and gorgeous while rocking neutrals.

  • Mar8

Love it all but i’m not entirely sure about the lipstick..

  • H3ff

Girl’s hair and face are FABULOUS.

I don’t know why more ladystars don’t get it: sleek hair almost always works better for fashion-y looks.

  • Rand Ortega

It’s a WERQ for me. Everything but that toe is perfectly in place.

  • l_c_ann

I wondered what happened to a particularly garish lampshade in a furniture store in Gretna Louisiana that we used to drive past. The fringe plus the short fringe above it made it stand out.

I wish she’d worn black net hose and put a light bulb in her hair.

    • Tom Shea

Because then she would have looked so great and the queens here would have had no excuse to complain!
      Jesus. A lamp. Jesus.

  • I’m really having a hard time agreeing with the other kittens lately. I don’t like this dress at all.

  • Ouch her poor toe.

  • filmcricket

Love the dress. But even without the wandering toe I prefer the shoes on the model – those ones Emmy’s got on are too heavy or something. I also agree that this maybe isn’t HER dress; it looks good on her but I bet there are others who could pull it off better.

  • PeaceBang

See, that toe just ruins it for me.

  • julnyes

I think she looks fantastic (even with the wandering toe)

  • Hair and makeup are FLAWLESS. Dress I could give or take, but she looks great. Shoes are bad, for a variety of reasons.

  • That pinky toe is killing me.

  • Those shoes are worth a wandering pinky toe.

  • RebeccaKW

Those shoes are the devil. Ugly and uncomfortable looking. But that dress is great.

  • A lot of bling with out any BLING! Sort of a miss considering all the beading!

  • Aww, she has fucked up feet. 🙁 Oh well; this look is fantastic otherwise. Great eye, T-Lo.

  • nannypoo

She almost always composes her face exactly this way. I understand why, that she doesn’t want to be caught with an odd facial expression, but she always looks a little vapid. Pretty, but vapid.

  • I don’t love the shoes, but everything else is perfection.

  • marilyn

If she is going to wear a dress like this, she needs to commit to the look. The hair is daytime casual, as in: How to do one’s hari when running to the store on a quick errand. It does not go with a flapper/gogo dress. The dress needs to be in an Austin Powers movie. The hair is for the frumpy production assistant.

  • Tragic shoe mistakeshe really should know better

  • MilaXX

She looks good enough to overlook the runaway pinkie toe. This is the hair yesterday’s look needed.

  • robert paul

“wandering baby toe” YES! you guys are a hoot!

  • disqus_sZRDWtvvVD

Off topic, but I LOVE the model’s hair!

  • That makeup is flawless.

  • unbornfawn

Great dress. The fit is perfection. Wish the shoes fit as nicely.

  • formerlyAnon

Her makeup really is excellent. I am not a huge fan of the dress. I would like it MUCH better if the gold fringe extended down as far as the black on every stripe. The grey-beige bits look to me as if they’re the supporting shell which are showing by mistake. I know that’s not so. But it mars the dress for me.

  • jetpackdino

Now i’ve got the Bumblebee Tuna song playing in my head. Great.

  • I like everything except the gold fringe. 🙂

  • one of the few stars who doesn’t use a stylist and we love her.

  • frannyprof

    Hate those shoes

  • GorgeousThings

Sorry, the heavy foundation ruins it for me. It looks like her makeup artist used a trowel.

  • I’d hate those shoes even if they weren’t torturing her feet. That they do only makes it worse. Everything else is delicious, though.

  • Tuneful54

    A go-go dancer on “Laugh-In,” circa 1967. Ugh.

  • E. D.

Hate the dress (hello lampshade!) and the runaway toe.

  • Trisha26

If the dress had a couple more levels of the short fringe, maybe. But that bottom section is just distracting. Those shoes look matchily-painful.

  • TLJezebel

Too matchy-matchy from tip to errant toe.

  • lrhoff

Hmmmm. It’s all right. I’m not sure it’s as flattering as it could be…

  • BrooklynBomber

Terrible. I keep thinking it’s made from gold clothespins.

    • Beverly Kozma

If it were, I’d love it.

  • Her makeup looks so beautiful here. She’s gorgeous by herself but it just add more to it.

Did she change her brow shape ever so slightly? They used to be much rounder, and now her face has more character. Or am I day-dreaming?

  • TieDye64

Poor lil’ pinky toe. Sassy lil’ dress.
