  • I gasped when I saw the runway version, then groaned at her version.

    • drdarke

Well, you see, @facebook-1206676815:disqus – she had shown up in the runway version of the dress – but she got mugged by Heidi Klum and Michael Kors, who snipped off the bottom half of her dress, stole her belt, then sent her to the red carpet with a sharp SLAP! on her almost-exposed ass and a stern “Now WERQ those legs, girl!”

Yeah…. It really didn’t take me long to go back on my word not to mock Heidi Klum and her inevitable miniskirts any more, did it? Still, it’s better than whatever Gwynneth Paltrow is wearing, even if it does look like a top in search of a bottom….

      • BayTampaBay

She needs the belt and the dress needs to be three inched longer.

      • demidaemon

Those last few words make me feel like this dress needs to be in a gay bar.

        • drdarke

Only the last few words, @demidaemon:disqus ? I must be slipping….

  • H2olovngrl

I think she looks fresh and a wee bit mod.

  • jw_ny

Love it all! I think going belt-less in this case was a wise choice…although looking at some of them wrinkles at her mid section, she did try one.

    • Sarah

Think she just tried sitting down. Which means, when sitting down, her whole junk is out, because that dress is way too short, IMO.

  • zenobar

The runway version is better in every way. She’s cute, though.

  • Shoes and accessories are cute, dress is shapeless.

  • I love this nightgown!

    • mshesterp

My first thought was “What great maternity wear!!” Which is bad when you’re not pregnant…

    • sunnycalif

I thought it was a laundry bag!

  • hughman

If ever a linen dress needed an “Iron Man”, it was this one.

  • S’ok. That’s all this dress gets out of me. The runway version is SOOOOO much better. Also, I like the shoes, but the clutch doesn’t go. Makeup is pretty, though.

  • formerlyAnon

I love this dress. I bet in motion it would be even better. If it had more of the ’60s trapeze shape, or was an inch longer and had an under skirt so it would swing out a bit more, it would be even better. Like the shoes, not so sure about the clutch.

    • I like the dress too. I used to hate shifts and loose-fitting dresses but I’m coming around to them. She looks very soft, pretty and chic.

  • The runway dress wins on a knockout.

  • Nimerha

What a beautiful little nightie. And it even matches the actual gown she was supposed to wear! Too bad she forgot to change into it.

  • Funkykatt

She’s so adorable, she can pull off anything.

  • decormaven

Runway version so much better. This look is reminiscent of a table linen.

  • Little_Olive

Can I have her legs (shoes and all)? The rest you can take.

  • Slut Cut fail.

  • Summery and adorable.

  • MarissaLG

Cute dress to wear to your frenemy’s wedding.

  • StellaZafella

    Toga Party…!

  • MGMcD

Is Emily Thorne pregnant will Daniel’s child? Or Aiden’s? Or Jack’s? (I don’t know, I kind of gave up on Revenge a few episodes into this season)

  • MilaXX

I like this but the bag drives me nuts. It appears to be a pale pink which doesn’t work as a pop of color and just seems a shade or two off midst all that cream and gold.

  • I think the color is the biggest problem. If she makes all the changes but leaves it black, it works. Orrr I could be on the crack. 😉

  • It is dresses like this that spawn pregnancy rumors. So much better long and belted.

  • Coco Cornejo

Shapeless & wrinkly — she looks like she’s wearing two tea towels sewn together.

  • Not to be mean, but she looks pregnant. Shoulda kept the belt, sweetie.

  • Why would any woman, nay person! want to look like a shiny box? BELTS darling…they are your friends.

  • Steph Wright

She looks like she’s wearing a car seat.

  • MandyM

The long version was lovely. What happened?

  • nannypoo

Could she have chosen a less flattering dress?

  • AlisonS

I keep picturing this with a sleek metallic belt and in my head it looks SO MUCH BETTER. Then I have to go back and actually look at the pictures and think “yeah, she could look good but she just doesn’t”

  • If nothing else, we should applaud the fact that those are cute shoes with both a reasonable heel and a lack of platform. Brava, Emily!

  • The dress definitely needed the belt and to be longer. The ruanway version is gorgeous.

  • Perfect for her. Love the shoes and the pink bag and I actually love her hair. Very well done Emily!

  • BrooklynBomber

I so almost love both versions.

  • Dhammadina

  • Hetha Innis

The only thing that would make this dress make sense would be a bump hiding underneath. Love the runway version though!

  • The runway version is so perfect, and this is so not.

  • Moo Moo! Cute but not for the RED CARPET!

  • TheAmericaness

Aw. Did someone sew their very first dress?

  • She should have this dress ironed and save it for the Gatsby premiere.

  • turtleemily

I’m just too excited that she’s playing Sharon Carter in the Captain America sequel to even care that she’s wearing a mini muumuu.

  • Trisha26

I’m all for floaty, uncinched looks, and I love the side pleating. But this is just awkward, it’s just the long dress cut short, and in a very wrinkle-prone fabric. The shoes are kind of amazing. Don’t care for the hair.

  • Susan Yoon

Why is there no belt? Why show off your legs if you’re not going to show off your waist? Why??

  • Imasewsure

just no… looks like a summer school sewing class project

  • The square box shape of this dress does nothing for her but she has great legs and enviable ankles.

  • She just annoys the crap out of me…she’s so blandly pretty, and does nothing to help that in her choices

  • She looks like a tap dancing box of cigarettes.

    • You nailed it! Not a good way to do this dress. A little longer with a belt would have been much better.

  • demidaemon

I don’t think I like this dress in any version. Though her hair is super cute.

  • It’d hang better if she was wearing a better bra. Although that’d also make it 2″ shorter in front which it doesn’t need.

  • Judy_S

Definition of a dress that’s too short: one whose wearer looks this nervous about moving.

  • MartyBellerMask

Runway is better but she still looks great. Shame about the wrinkles though.

  • Diego!

Is she pregnant??? This is definetely not helping her at all. She has an amazing body to rock and this dress is really awful on her!

  • barbarienne

    The runway version is gorgeous!

This version is two tea-towels pinned together to make a front and back.

  • quiltrx

It really lost something in the translation from runway to rc! I do actually (much to my chagrin) kind of like the shoes.

  • Everything fell apart without the belt.

  • ccm800

    its cute.

  • librarygrrl64

Is she pregnant? That would be the only excuse for this (and for the sad boobs). The runway version (color, belt, and length) is the winner here. Love the shoes, though.

  • andreawey

    nice tablecloth….
